Has anyone experienced that the Bluetooth completely stops working on this phone?
It seems when a certain bluetooth device gets out of range from the phone and momentarily reconnects, while this process happens for quite number of times.
The Bluetooth seems to stop functioning completely until the phone is rebooted.
That is to say, the bluetooth menu and on/off switches will appears to be working but none of the paired bluetooth devices can connect to the phone.
The Scan function in the Bluetooth settings page also becomes useless where it will appear to be scanning but will not find any near by devices.
The same with that check box "Tap to make visible to nearby devices", another device will not find the phone's bluetooth signal.
It looks like the kernel module for bluetooth radio has crashed, after prolonged period of paired bluetooth devices DoS the phone's bluetooth with very weak bluetooth Connect signals (when it becomes out of range)......
This bug seems to be problematic because whenever I have my devices charging in separate places this problem start to appear within a few hours after charging.
Most of all this is very annoying because you will need to reboot the phone to get bluetooth to function again.
And I will not factory reset my phone just because of this annoyance.
It looks like that there's a major issue in the hardware or kernel itself.
This problem started happening when I got the Asus ZenWatch. The problem is apparent if the phone and the watch are almost out of range to each other but repeatedly reconnects once in a while.
This looks very much like the main reason for crashing the Samsung Galaxy Note4's Bluetooth Kernel module...............
I am making the assumption that the Bluetooth Kernel module has crashed because another device does not detect signal from the phone's Bluetooth radio.
I have same issue with my SM-N910C variant, simply BT doesn't turn on.
bluetooth shuts itself off after 2 minutes. you need to check the box again after 2 mins. annoying but not the end of the world.
existing paired devices pair normally regardless. ive never seen it crash or freeze.
The bluetooth on this phone is terrible. Quite honestly, this is my only gripe about this phone. I have to connect/disconect bluetooth several times in my car before it stays connected. While connected, every few minutes the audio will drop out for approx 2 seconds and then come back on. Also once every few hours right in the middle of streaming audio while driving, for no apparent reason, the phone just decides to disconnect bluetooth altogether. Very Very frustrating.
I'm having the following dmesg messages related to bt init:
01-18 12:04:50.748 19152 19164 E bt_upio : set_bluetooth_power : write(/sys/class/rfkill/rfkill0/state) failed: Operation not permitted (1)
01-18 12:04:50.748 19152 19195 E bt_hwcfg: Start CFG HW, HCI reset
So sad that there is not a solution right now.

The problem was the range and a weak or intermittent signal.
Since I changed the leather band to a stainless steel one which I believe boosted the watch's bluetooth coverage.
This time the phone's bluetooth does not go down anymore.
Now, I am not sure if the watch's coverage or antenna too short causing this issue.
Or something wrong with this phone's bluetooth...

Hi, sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else, but I haven't seen it.
I'm on my second M5k (the first one had serious radio issues), this one has bluetooth problems.
I've paired it with my Parrot car kit (which has always worked fine), but recently the car asks me to pair a device everytime its powered on. Likewise, I've just paired a BT GPS & it's connecting but not really seeing the device. In the BT manager, both devices now have a ? icon on the left rather than a headset etc.
Any ideas whats going on?
Thanks
Check on your outgoing port settings in bluetooth settings, if there is a tick in the secure connection, uncheck it and see if that works.
I had similar issue with bt gps reciever
Nope, not ticked.
On a side note, its been sat next to me for an hour with wifi on, connected to the pc & its just shut down with 52% battery left. When this thing doesnt wanna play, it really is the biggest waste of money i've ever had (course, for that 5 mins that it works properly its the greatest thing i've ever spent my money on).
sorry, thats the extent of my knowledge ... just a newbie
best of luck and keep the faith !
when i have a hard reset my paired devices disconfigured only
I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with bluetooth on their Archos 101. I can't tell if perhaps my hardware is flaky, or if its a software issue.
Basically, bluetooth seems to work sporadically. Sometimes it pairs like it should, other times it is a fight just to get it to pair with my phone, laptop or bluetooth keyboard. Often times I have to reboot just to get it to pair and it seems to really struggle if both bluetooth AND wifi are enabled.
I'm running the stock current ROM and outside of the android market APK and some basic apps, I haven't done anything wacky or weird to it.
I guess I'm just looking for some validation and/or confirmation and/or possible fixes if any.
Sorry, i have experienced no issues with bluetooth apart from forgetting to switch it on
I have had some issues as well. Paired a set of Motorola S9 bluetooth stereo headphones. They pair and connect fine, but the audio is choppy. It will sound fine for 15-20 seconds and then it will skip, go silent, bring back audio, etc. Tried playing same audio through unit speakers and no problems. I also have an Archos 70 tablet and have no problems with the same headset. Both have been updated with the Froy 2.2. Starting to think it might be a hardware issue with the 101. Anyone have any other thoughts?
Never had it working
I always get paired but not connected. Never have been able to get it to work.
The same problem. Pair, but not connect!
I've never found problem about bluetooth (Archos 101 - firmware version 2.1.08)
Pair & connect with DELL BH200 (Bluetooth Headset) - work fine.
Pair & connect with DELL BT Travel Mouse - work fine.
i'm getting major issues on my new replacement 101. did you ever sort your issues? i'm using latest fw.
its really hit or miss (mostly miss) whether it actually see's any BT devices when it scans. yet wifi works fine 100%
I experiment something very similar with my 101, this both on standard Android and Urukdroid 0.7 or 1.0 :
- very difficult (multiple tries have to be done) to get successfull peering.
- with BT enabled phones
- with BT GPS (G-Sat BT-368i, wich is given in forums to work well on our gen8 devices)
- for the GPS (which is the BT device that interest me) : impossible to have it working directly from GoogleMap, I got some success with "Bluetooth Gps Provider" appli from Market). This device is never shown as connected from the BT Parameters.
Could it be a hardware problem, that is do I have to return the tablet to archos ?
Thanks for your experience feeling about the fiability of the BT on 101 tablet.
It generally works fine for me, but a couple days ago it got stuck, and it would not allow to send me files to other devices until I rebooted the Archos. The same day I was also using bluetooth headphones and the wifi network together, and I had audio stutter problems. It seems that wifi has a negative effect over bluetooth stability.
It works for me... though
Bluetooth is not working on my Archos 101.
When I try "scan for devices" it shows 1 or 2 devices, while my HTC HD2 shows about 5. When I click again on "scan for devices" - sometimes it is howing different device, sometime shows bloothooth adress only.
Evan my HTC can see Archos, it cannot pair with it. Archos never see my HTC.
Zalek
Same here
I can pair with my phone (htc desire hd) but cant connect.
I need my phone connected for gps.
Nobody has a solution ?
No solution ?
Thanks
BT has some issues for me too with an A43.
BT+wifi means i either can't get a proper internet connection, or BT devices disconnect.
quite annoying, because i want to be able to use my BT mouse with the internet browser.
and my jabra halo headset connects in dumb mode (no media/volume controls) most of the time.
which is annoying, because it means my headset is stuck on the volume i last used.
Hi Lara and other fellows! For me, after all sort of tries, the solution comes with full reinitialization. Plug the unit to AC outlet, backup all your data, go to settings, repair and formatting and full reini. It seems that when we update firmware the things go a little crazy with the bt side. Good luck!
Think I've sorted out bluetooth problems
I also have had real problems with the bluetooth on Archos 101 - pairing but not connecting, causing "Location & Security" to crash when I attempted to open it (in settings). I updated the firmware to 2.4.19 and then rebooted - still the same problems, so I did a full initialization and hey presto all problems seem to have vanished ! A pain because I've now got to re-download all the apps I had before but at least the tablet is working as it is supposed to.
Hope this helps others.

Archos 101 Bluetooth Problem - Known issue?
I'm having the same problems. I contacted Archos support and they told me to do a full reinitialization. This did not resolve the issue.
When scanning for bluetooth devices, nothing shows up until the 5th or so attempt.
The mac address of the discovered device is shown instead of the device name.
When attempting to connect it fails several times, then it pairs but says "paired but not connected."
When I finally connect the audio stutters. It's extremely choppy... useless.
If the bluetooth is left on, the 101 will eventually freeze when the screen sleeps and cannot be woken up by pressing the power button. The green light stays on when this happens. Pressing the button a few times or holding it in reboots the 101.
After reading all the posts I've come to the conclusion that Archos likely knows about this issue.
Archos, if you're reading this, for the sake of your customers, please admit this is a known issue and let us know if it's fixable and when a possible fix may be available.
I encourage everyone to open a ticket with Archos support.
If you purchased your 101 used and it's been registered by the previous owner, you can register it and the registration will be instantly transferred to you.

Ever since I got the EB13, and subsequently, the EC05 update to Froyo, Bluetooth has been consistently crashing when I connect to my Jetta TDI's car kit. After lots of frustration, I began to investigate, using aLogCat, and found out the following.
My TDI's Bluetooth interface supports phonebook transfers. The car's interface, however, does not. Still, when I first pair the device, I receive a request to allow the phonebook to transfer, which of course I accepted. I thought nothing of this, as this already happened in DI18, without any problems. However, as of EB13, after I *end* a phonecall, I'll get the triple-buzz, and the BT stack will crash. I have to shut off the BT radio (which takes about 1 minute, as it sits there trying to shut down) and then re-enable and reconnect.
After running aLogCat, I found, pre-crash, that EVERY time I got in my car, the phone attempts to transfer the *entire* phonebook. Every single time I get in. This seems rather unnecessary, and slow, as each entry takes about 0.5 to 0.75 seconds to sync. For hundreds of contacts, my phone is sitting there for what could be an hour or more, syncing. It makes sense, then, that after I hang up on a bluetooth-enabled call, which likely got in the way of the transfer, that a buggy BT stack implementation crashes when it tries to resume. I confirmed this with aLogCat, seeing "ihup() call received!" entries showing up every second or so, after the stack crash. So, I decided to experiment.
I unpaired my car's BT system, and re-paired. This time, instead of accepting the phonebook authorization (which I can't use anyway in my 2009 TDI), I denied the request. It popped up again, and I denied again. (Now, I just simply ignore it, and it goes away.) The result is that I have *never* lost my BT connectivity to the car after a phonecall since I started doing this. Obviously, Samsung has introduced a bug, but because most people's headsets don't support phonebook functionality, it hasn't shown up.
So, if you're having the "I just ended a call, my phone triple-buzzed, and now my headset has disconnected" problem, remove the pairing, and don't allow phonebook transfer. Hopefully this can be of some help to people.
Thank you! That triple buzz was really starting to get to me (to say nothing of how unsafe it is to fiddle with re-pairing on the highway), and I couldn't even figure out a starting point to troubleshoot. I use a Parrot Mki system that does support phonebook transfer, but I'll try deselecting "Always allow" the next time I'm in the car aster permitting at least one sync.
I could swear that I only started noticing this with the recent Froyo builds, but I wasn't certain enough about it.
Thanks again!
I have 3 main devices that I pair to my phone via bluetooth: watch/lg tone/car
The watch stays paired with no issues, but the watch is having issues swapping from the lg tones to the car and vice versa.
Anyone found a remedy for this?
As of now, I have to go into the bluetooth settings of the one I don't want to use and deselect media/phone, then go to the other and select media/phone. And even sometimes this takes multiple times to work.
My previous phone (gs7) had no issues swapping from the two.
Hi,
Did you get a solution ? I face the same problem and can't find any solution...
Just to clarify, when you are in your car and want to connect to it, the headphones are turned off, correct?
Having similar issues... Every time I try to connect to my car (stock Subaru WRX), I have to manually connect and it takes several attempts before it connects. Once it connects it usually doesn't drop though. Very frustrating...
Another poster resorted to getting a whole new head unit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/sony-xav-ax100-bluetooth-issues-t3634940

It's not in my car but with the bluetooth device of my motorcycle helmet. The reference is ncom bluetooth kit 3. I have to connect it manually and it takes several attempts before it connects. Sometimes it doesn't connect at all....
I have 2 headset Plantronics Backbeat Pro and Plantronics Backbeat Fit. They both work flawlessly
My Huawei Watch also works.
But my Nokia 616 Car kit wont connect at all.
And my motorcycle hemlet bluetooth kit, Cardo scala rider PACKTALK, connects, but the audio is slowed down to about 80 percent?
Same thing here.
I have been facing problems with a Sony SBH52 Headset and with my Opel Corsa E, stock infotainment system.
It gives me a hard time connecting but when it does it's stable.
I had the same with my gen 1 Moto 360 but after a factory reset to the watch and a reboot it's stable.

I had the same issue with my TSX. I did some research and cleared the cache. Worked like a charm afterwards. Did not have the issue one week since doing that

Ahem, I seem to be unable to find bluetooth in my app settings. Can you please give me a hint?
It's been driving me crazy these days with my SBH-52 and I want to try this too.
Thanks!
P.S.
I'll also give it a shot with a plantronics pro headset I have to see if it does the same.
Bluetooth profiles implementations, even though they passed certification, are not always made equal! So don't end up pulling your hair if a certain BT device doesn't play nice with another.
Just as an example... Head Unit X had big issues with the initial contacts sync, right after pairing with Samsung phones (already known to sometimes play around some other standards). It would only work after several reconnects. After several weeks of debugging (poor development guys) and reproduction test (poor testing guys) it was concluded that it is a phone issue caused by some wrong timing delays in the process of exchanging information between the HU and the phone. Samsung was informed and the ticket was internally closed.
I have similar problem with Bluetooth Earbuds. Phone simple doesn't "see" the Earbuds. But strange - it can see other Bluetooth devices and other devices can see Earbuds.
I'm sure this is a OnePlus 5 software problem.
Version OxygenOS 4.5.10
i have somhow issue as urs, i have Bluetooth pad lock and android watch, it sometimes connected and sometimes not, i do believe its software issue, im on 4.5.11
Yes, it is strange. After some restarts and on/offs connection suddenly appears
Hello to everyone.
From when i bought it the op8pro has some problem with the bluetooth. Is like if the device can connect to one device only. I have a fossil 5 gen, one fiesta mk8 with android auto and the bluetooth headset but is like if the bluetooth has some problem to connect to two or one devices. For example every time my car doesnt connect to the phone automatically and today when i was to the gym my headset doesnt connect automatically too. My previous note 10 pro was able to connect without any problem... Someone has some problem with the bluetooth? Thanks
I have another problem. Every time that i enter in my car the device is connect to android auto but if i want to play an audio from whatsapp i have to tap a lot of time on the play botton.!!!???why
I see this same issue, I'd say 80-90% of the time (the other 10-20%, it "just works", which is truly odd, given the protocol).
For example, I use some bone-conducting open-air headphones, while cycling (long time road cyclist), and sometimes I want to connect my Garmin Edge 1030, to download a route, when I'm out.
Good luck, even upon returning, I'm often sitting in the garage, trying 20+ times (after shutting my headphones off, even), to try and download my ride-data, for the day. Sometimes it requires rebooting both devices, flushing the Bluetooth app-cache, and the Garmin app-cache, and then it'll work, that's perhaps 40% of the time.
For another 40%, it will NOT connect, what-so-ever, across multiple reboots and app-cache flushes, period (I tend to give up at around the 20+ attempt mark, depending).
The last 20%, it works, perfectly, as you'd expect, and as my OP7 Pro did, I can't recall a single BT connectivity issue, with it, either solo (Garmin) or with headphones concurrently.
I've filed bugs with OP (along with NUMEROUS other radio bugs, like the fact you can't connect to a 5G-mobile signal, if you're connected to a WiFi signal, on the INO2025 model, bug filed, trace-logs submitted, including pointing out log-lines where the radio(s) fail).
Unfortunately, with the Bluetooth issues, it will not repro, if I use the OP debug-mode, which is how they want to receive logs (and how I've submitted many bugs, previously), so I'm at a loss, short of finding a hardware Bluetooth debug module (I used to work on h/w and s/w boundary driver stuff, so I've used a h/w BT debugger before, but not for some years, and have no access to one, currently).
OP seems to just ignore the bugs, at that point, when I can't provide the logs, they pretty much abandon the bug-thread, so I'm not sure how they're going to get some of these resolved (I've noted that the debug-mode seems to introduce some latency, or similar, that prevents repro, no response to that, what-so-ever).
I have reset the radio-stack, a couple of times, and did one full factory-reset (shortly after getting the phone, about 1 month back now), with no real change in results, for reference.
I feel like I'm back in the late-90's, when Bluetooth was super-flaky. on most devices, in the 1.x and 2.x days.
Not exactly a "flagship phone experience", or even a decent budget phone Bluetooth experience, for this day and age...
I'm open to ideas on how to debug further, I'm really more of a storage and display guy, and memory-management, in terms of the bulk of my dev/debug skills, communication protocols were something I did on the fringe, of sorts, when they overlapped, or similar.
