5.0.1 Method of shutting down individual apps - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Prior to the lollipop I could swipe left to right to close any minimised app. Now most won't allow that & I have to wait for 3-5 secs for an X to appear in the minimised app's top right corner & then click it to close it down. So far, one of my apps allows me to swipe, the rest (of those I've tried) won't allow it. Is their a way to turn this 'feature' off in Lollipop & go back to swiping? (Only interested in answers that pertain to a stock device - unrooted)

(Q) Notifications popping back onto screen after swipe down

Annoying feature to notifications so far is the forced choice of swiping left and dismissing from phone or swiping down to "keep" the card only to have it pop back up to the bottom of the screen 2 seconds later. Is there any way of avoiding the constant reappearance of cards I just swiped down? Example: I swipe weather down off my screen. A few seconds later is shows back up on the bottom of my screen and clutters my watch face. I just dismissed it, why would I want it right back?
I'm guessing this is just another area where Google is doing beta on us and will fix it down the road.
I've noticed that too... A kind of workaround is to stop the card-notifications from showing up on the clock. You'll have to swipe down to see them. Ofcourse, if something happends (a notification comes in) you'll still get vibrations etc.. The preview just wont show up on the bottom of the screen anymore.
It's in the android wear app.
Thanks. I want NEW notifications, but I don't need them to pop back up 2 seconds after I swiped down! Lol!

Problems with gestures

Hi everybody!
I'd like to know your opinion on the implemented gestures on our Note 4? Do they work the way you want them to?
I myself do have the following problems from time to time:
1) Pop up window gesture -> pulling down the notification bar instead
2) Shrink the whole screen size -> activating something different
3) Activating multi window side bar by holding down the back button -> some apps seem to react as if I used the back button
Many greetings
pop-up window never fails for me.
in fact, I regularly trigger it by accident when I try to access the tab slide or address bar in Atlas(web browser)
and for multi-window I use the recent app screen, or more often just floating windows.
Interesting, so it's the other way round for you as far as popup windows are concerned.
Recent app screen seems to be the easiest way, but unfortunately the apps have to be opened already to be available.

unwanted lock screen appeared. help?

several weeks ago a new lock screen appeared - out of nowhere - and now won't go away. I've tried to manually go into setting and change it - no luck. When I restart my s5, my original screen (which is still selected in settings) comes up, but is then taken over by this lock screen that won't go away. I'm running Themer - thought it was associated with that, but I've since cleared cache/data/deleted it, with no luck. This thing doesn't keep time, give any notifications, or swipe responsively. A real PIA. It also affects the notification bar - won't give me my notifications. Same with the lock screen - occasionally I will swipe my screen and see the original notification bar, but mostly this new one. Any thoughts? I'm really not keen on wiping the whole thing are starting from scratch.
A screenshot would be helpful, it sounds like part of another app you have installed.

How to clear recently used apps

Am I crazy or does Marshmallow not have a way of clearing all the recently used apps that come up when you hit the square button? I realize 6.0 does a great job of managing power when many apps are open, but I'd just like to keep things a bit tidier when hitting that button so I can more easily switch between recently used apps.
Lollipop didn't have it either. I used Gravity Box to add a clear all button, but it and Xposed aren't available for 6.0 yet.
I keep mine cleared out and close any apps that are open before I shut my screen off. One thing that can help is turning off tabs as apps in the Chrome settings. That merges all the Chrome tabs into one slide so the list isn't as cluttered.

Click to collapse
That's weird. I guess CM12.1 had a clear button in LP-- is what I was used to. Seems like a no-brainer to offer the ability to clear that list out considering how quick it can fill up.

new recent apps behavior

LG-H918, been a great phone. Not rooted, all original.
As of today (first I noticed) when you touch the recent apps square, the various apps appear, and you can scroll through them. Each time I attempt to select whichever app, the phone blanks very quickly and returns to the home screen.
I can clear the apps in the recent apps screen by swiping and using the x.
If I try split screen on apps that are able to use it, the first app appears at the top, and when I try a second, the second blanks and the home screen appears on the bottom half. I then can expand the upper app to fill in the whole screen.
I've repeatedly restarted the phone, and also shut down and removed the battery. No effect.
Is there a setting or something I may have done to cause this?
