Hi
I have opened a new forum for Android platform.
http://www.android-forums.com/
See you there!.
Looks like a productive site! LOTS of information!
Thanks what a nice job
It still allows you to do many things such as approve friend requests, send and receive messages, search for friends, update your current status and upload photos directly from your G1.
fommy.com/t-mobile-g1.htm
her is another, its my friends : http://android-dls.com
has many apps for Google Android
Wow, I havent been to this site in years! I found the link in my forums analytics software and had to come see. Good to know xda-devs has some interest in Android also

New Android Market 1.6 - confirmed.

- [ Android Market 1.6 video ] -
Eric Chu:
"I’m pleased to let you know about several updates to Android Market. First, we will soon introduce new features in Android Market for Android 1.6 that will improve the overall experience for users. As part of this change, developers will be able to provide screenshots, promotional icons and descriptions that will better show off applications and games.
We have also added four new sub-categories for applications: sports, health, themes, and comics. Developers can now choose these sub-categories for both new and existing applications via the publisher website. Finally, we have added seller support for developers in Italy. Italian developers can go to the publisher website to upload applications and target any of the countries where paid applications are currently available to users.
To take advantage of the upcoming Android Market refresh, we encourage you to visit the Android Market publisher website and upload additional marketing assets. Check out the video below for some of the highlights".

Best site for nexus one / android news?

Hey guys I usually have a list of bookmarked sites I go to to see if there is anything new I don't know about. Since I am still pretty new to the android community I was wondering if anyone knows of news sites / blogs about the nexus one that gives DAILY news. Daily being the key... otherwise I could just do google searches myself but I would rather have a site that gets all the daily news for me.
Currently I use:
- Android central news section
- Phandroid news section
- Android community news section
- Android Guys
- Android and Me
- Download squad
- Android tapp
Probably my favorite so far is Android guys and Android tapp. The other ones are ok but sometimes have periods of 3-4 days without an update.
Does anyone know of any other good nexus one / android websites that give daily news updates?

Lol, Daily I get it...
Open up the News widget, create a custom new source, type in "Android". BOOM all daily news about Android from dozens of different sites every day.
Just watch out because there are often Apple-fanboyish sites like PC World that spin every single piece of Android news into something negative and end with some rubbish about Apple being better.
But at least it's daily
www.engadgetmobile.com is also the best site hands down for all mobile news. I love Android, but I like to keep up on ALL gadget news, not just tunnel vision Android

You're an Android user right? On the news widget, I added the custom news topics named "Nexus One" and "Android". You'll get updates daily (it can even post more than one update in a day). Feel free to add more topics that you want to follow.
You can also use news.google.com like this http://news.google.com/news/search?aq=0&pz=1&cf=all&ned=en_ph&hl=en&q=nexus+one&oq=nexus

Like Androidspin & Androidguys!
I was about to bookmark androidguys but the page doesn't display properly and icons overlap text in every headline and topic description. I cant imagine anything more ironic than an android site not displaying properly on an android phone. However my stock browser has given me hell since the beginning so it might just b my phone. Also I don't really know how to use the word "ironic"

[29Jan][ANNOUNCE] & [PORTING NEWS] thread for HADK releases (1.0.3 revised 29Jan)

Hi there,
this is a thread for the HADK. Here you will find the official release notes from jolla for the HADK and maybe general discussion about it. So have fun and lets take the porting adventure to somewhere we can't imagine!
IMPORTANT:
The Images you will build with HADK are under the EULA of Sailfish OS. Please explain to interested users that this is not production quality (you know the watermark) to prevent misunderstandings in functional behaviour!!!
Official irc channel for porters:
Server: irc.freenode.net

Official announcement from jolla:
Von:Simonas Leleiva [email protected]
An:Simonas Leleiva [email protected]
Betreff:The first Sailfish OS Hardware Adaptation Development Kit (HADK) Release (EA1)
Datum:July 18, 2014 15:48
Dear early adopter of Sailfish OS for Android devices. This is important
- read this whole mail through and follow all steps exactly as written.
IMPORTANT: If you choose to publish this mail through blogs, news sites,
forums, or others, quote it as-is and in complete form ONLY, or people's
devices may be at risk.
We are extremely happy to release the EA1 version of the Sailfish OS
Hardware Adaptation Development Kit (HADK), which describes how to port
Sailfish OS to existing devices based on CyanogenMod 10.1.
CM version 11.0 and AOSP versions will be supported eventually (and you
can help to make this happen faster!)
Note that Sailfish OS images yielding from this documentation are likely
to be under Sailfish OS EULA.
We are excited to welcome you all to this adventurous porting journey.
We want to build a community around Sailfish OS for Android devices that
is based on mutual trust and respect for what we are all doing. Hence --
we ask that whenever you do screenshots, videos, forum or blog posts or
the like (and we're happy if you do!), you emphasise that this is an
work-in-progress effort and not a productised release. It is important
for Jolla that correct expectations are set for those who might be users
of the final product -- and that they understand what they see is not a
released product
Read through other notes in previous Nexus 4 EA image release emails, as
they are all relevant (cached:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53611676&postcount=433 )
HADK manual can be downloaded from (yes, you finally reached the
essential part of this announcement ) :

We will all meet in the support channel called #sailfishos-porters on
irc.freenode.net and please use us (thp, alterego, Stskeeps, lbt,
sledges) to work together, report any bugs, graphical glitches or
missing functionality that you find, which are not included in the
release notes above. You can also find the hardware adaptation source
code at http://github.com/mer-hybris .
You are also welcome to participate in threads such as

Sailfish OS as well as for more general Sailfish OS topics at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/jolla-sailfish/general
Release Notes/Known Issues in HADK v1.0.1-EA1:
- Resulting HADK image for any device will not have Jolla Store support
(whereas as official Nexus 4 >=EA3 images by Jolla have). We are working
on Jolla Store integration into HADK (aiming for Nexus 4 as very first)
Will be fixed in the next release of HADK:
- HADK PDF has line-wrapping issues in pages 16, 19.
- PDF readers which can copy out-of-bound text: okular, Firefox PDF
viewer. Readers which cannot: evince, epdfview, mupdf
- PDF contains no table of contents
- Page 9: single quotes should be used to avoid early variable
evaluation for '[insert value of your choosing]' and
'$MER_ROOT/android/droid'

porting news updated. Guys be happy about whats ongoing since hadk was released. Have a great day!
This is really great, I've been waiting a long time for it to be available, documentation prior to that on libhybris and other components were pretty scarce before.
I'm really happy that Jolla is really contributing back to the community.

Great good news!!!!!
I wonder, would anyone (ever) work on enabling Barometer on Mako??? I mean, even Android snubs that sensor. I'm one of the very few I can find on any forum who cares about Barometer as I'm a bit of a weather geek.

Reading on later in the logs it looks like they are going to take the camera work from Ubuntu phone and use it. But then later after that it is mentioned that someone named netchip is doing it directly using hal. Getting confused about who is doing what with which phone model.
Anyways just posted by Nokius https://twitter.com/Nokius/status/493465722446970880

Camera implementation strategy is not yet set in stone, so confusion is normal, please bear with us
Could anyone help with finding a barometer on board? I believe it would be just some linuxy manifestation of a sensor under sysfs, probably could be abstracted by libhybris like other sensors?
Thanks!

My New Android Things Based Development Blog Series

After a LONG ... LONG ... time of working in the background of the android community (mainly on Sony AOSP stuff) I have started to put together some short blog style posts on medium that will be focused on developing applications and systems with the new Android Things platform. These posts will cover everything from starting your very first Android Things project all the way up to complex (and hopefully useful) connected devices. I have just published the 1st in this series (link below) and with any luck will have the 2nd one out by the end of next week.
1 . Android Things : Getting Started
2 . Android Things : Building Your 1st Connected App & Server (Hope this will be out before the end of next week .... title WIP)
Cheers !
