Hello everyone,
I am new to HTC and custom roms can someone wrote briefly which are the best custom roms for my HTC HD2? (tried and tested roms!) Now I am using it stock rom but I am not happy with it.
1. Best Android rom (I tried 4.4.4 but is too slow and have a feeling is draining battery more than the normal)
2. Best Windows Mobile 6.5 rom?
3. Best Windows Phone rom?
4. Best Windows Mobile/Ubutuntu/Android rom?
Cheers,
Best custom WM6.5 is Energy
http://www.mediafire.com/download/b...3699.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.DinikGlass.Nov.24.7z
With bit of personal modding it rock solid & well featured.
Used on all our work HD2 handsets as the rest are junk except for gaming or facebook ...
Thanks mate! I will try it.
Also mate try Android 4.4.2 tytung rom it is working good on my HD2 (Native SD - SD card 10 class 8gb)
Thank you bojan. I see that the Energy rom has a Launch Android shortlink so I suppose it is for that. Just to figure out how to install it...
@ Mister B
I have one issue, BTW I succefully installed 24.Nov.Energy rom and very happy with it! Just what I needed. I am not going to use the phone for games. Maybe except for chess. Simpler, stable the better. Excuse me for writing it in this topic but I don't have access to ask in the proper threads as a new user and I am eager to figure it out.
The issue is that when I listen to the FM radio and I have a call the phone is turning off. Is this normal? Had someone experienced a simmilar issue? Is windows mobile providing some kind of an errors log?
Yes the energy rom has a link to launch android SD build.
I have just tested my FM Radio as i'm on that ROM & no issue on incoming call.
Could possibly be linked to radio version perhaps, i'm using radio as linked in my signature.
Are you also on HSPL2.08 !?
I have Chess Genius, Tripplix & Virtual Pool Mobile which more than enough for gaming for me.
IM+ still works on WM too so can support facebook messaging etc which can be handy.

Hi everyone,
I need help with android on my HD2. I put on my HD2 the Android 2.2 OS but there is no sounds and calls have robot like sounds (can't even make out words that are spoken). I have been having the same problem no matter what I do and how many times I redo the installation process. I even installed HSPL3 and went from a 2.10 radio to a 2.08 radio still the problem persist. And yes i did tap on CLRCAD before taping on HaRET. Someone please help...
The Robot Voice is a known issue. However, some cooks have fixed the issue in their custom ROM's. Why don't you check them out.

x2.
certain rom+radio combinations are better than others in terms voice call quality. e.g., chucky rom+latest radio works good with mattc's froyo sense, miri's rom seems to work well with darkstone's builds, etc..
I went through most of the threads of there but in vain

You just have to experiment, or look around in user's signatures, and see what build combo's they are using.
i've tried this so many times to no avail, the sound is very low plus i get tke robot voice and after the second call it does not sound anymore. Also there are no ring tones, everything works but the audio. This is what I'm running:
Froyo Stone with sense, my radio is 2.10.50.26 everything is in the SD card, also how can I access the sd card? Thank you so much for any help you cab give me.
well ill give you my tip on how to resolve your problems. i did this to my phone and now i can run android FLAWLESSLY on my HD2.
1.go to tmobiles site and download the latest STOCK rom for your HD2.
2. run the program to install it so that you have the newest stock rom on your phone.
3. install HSPL 2.08 and MAKE SURE its HSPL and not SPL.
4.after installing that, install a custom WM rom of your choice(im using the WM bare bones by NRGZ28)
5.then install a new RADIO rom( i am using the Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2)
6.download and install the ANDROID ROM of your choice(i am using MATTC's NeXus one 2.2 OTA operating system)
7. reboot after you finish installing the android and it should work great! i havent had any robot voices/SoD or screen freezes and i have been using it for 4 days now and i usually get about 12-14 hours of use out of a full charge.
let me know how that works!
This has been talked about MANY times already. Android on the HD 2 is kinda like a learning a new recipe, you have to try different things till you find something that works for you. Did you know there is a whole forum dedicated to android on the HD 2? Really there is It is HERE
It does not work with all ROMS. You have to find a ROM that is compatible with Android. Omega's latest ROM is compatible.
Hey man you are a life saver. Tried what you did and my HD2 is working. The only thing I have found is when I hook up my bluetooth headset it somehow corrupts everything and i have to reinstall the rom to get everthing else working. Thanks again

Few differences.
I have chuckyrom light and froyostone (8/7/2010) build.
Its a t-mobile phone.
When I had the 2.10 radio, the build froze constantly. I couldn't use it. As soon as I changed to the 2.12 radio mentioned above, I haven't had a problem since.
I'm going on nearly 2 weeks and it has performed flawlessly.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
same here
I have same issue with robot woice, just like from videoclip Black Eyed Peas
I think the combination one month old Duttys ROM and Foryostone2.2 Android image is the reason. Radio ROM is the latest. Therefore I think every chefs WM ROMs has to be modified to be compatible with currend Android port developement.
Also I have very fast music player, everything sounds like Smurfs and battery drain is very extrem.
But battery drain is common for every Android ports, as I can see at forum, so until this issue will be resloved it is just for fun not for the real usage I hope developers who spend a lot of time with porting will have luck with that soon

No not at this stage. I can recommend Miri's ROMs for android compatibility but havn't tried many others but there is currently no way to run Android on our HD2s without first booting into WM.
There are also a few ROM builds (see the HD2 android development thread) that have a lot cut out of them for faster operation/boot and there's also the option of using one of the developed Android loaders (boots WM then Android for you).
Not possible right now. The devs are working on a NAND version which will make it possible, but it's not available yet.
Highly recommend Energy's Titanium rom, its very lightweight and is perfect if you reboot your phone and want to get back to android fast.
I use ChuckyDroidROM as Winmo build (very low on all recourses), and put shubCRAFT 1.5 or mattc Froyo 1.7 on top of it.
Using the little boot app in the ROM it runs great now
Almost dont notice its a layer
Its cool to have 2 OS on 1 phone, why not?
Question seems to be answered. Thread closed.

if you want to go directly to desire HD builds then that is your prerogative, but don't whine if ever it lags.
You have HSPL with stock rom? May I know the link of the particular winmo rom you used?

The following WM6.5 and Droid Builds work really well for me, just make sure you re-format the sd card on the WM rom and also change the screen time-out to 'never' before booting from the droid folder. The ROM and Build links are below:
WINMO ROM:
http://htcpedia.com/kwbr_HD2_com3/so...om.html?page=1
DROID BUILD:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793924
Hope you find it as good as I have, just make sure to HSPL before-hand, this is the Nexus One droid build and i've only had one small problem with hearing people on calls, but that fixed itself after a couple of uses. The build is very stable and reliable and also battery life is good (No outstanding BUILD is the best for battery as it really depends on the RADIO you use) .

Even though your going to be using droid all the time anytime you switch off the device, without a bootload option between WM and DROID you will always need a WM ROM to use as a platform to boot droid.
The ROM i use is a very low-key ROM and dosnt take up that much memory.
Plus the RADIO is what ultimately makes the good data connections and battery power etc so you will need both.
The way I have my build the droid battery drain issue is minimum (in my experience) to other builds, its stable, fast and it works well. Just make sure to install LauncherPro once you boot er up.
Just remember though if you restart your phone for any reason it will go back to the WM ROM on boot-up unless you have a BOOTLOADER installed so you can choose between either.
Hope this helps

Just spending five minutes in reading a bit doesn't hurt you know, but we'll help you:
1- SD Android doesn't overwrite windows, you're actually using SD like a phone memory. when you reset you'll be back to WinMo and will have to run Android again.
2- What's working and not working is always mentioned in the original (first) post of every build. From my brief experience with American Android, Wifi, Camera, and GPS are working, you have to try the other features and let the developer know if something isn't working well for you. make sure to post your whole info: HD2 TMo or EU, Radio, What WinMo you're using (not very helpful but wouldn't hurt writing it anyway), and what Android version have you downloaded.
3- As long as the radio is 2.XX.50.XX you're fine.
check your SPL version though, I've never tried Android with SPL 3.X some say it doesn't work.
4- You can dual boot (or triple or even quadruple boot) Android with windows as long as your multiple android builds support having more than one beside them (and a bit of your luck as well) the program is just a shortcut for you not to use FExplorer to run Android :/ so the answer would be yes.
when you run android and have some problems, you can use search because there are many threads to solve almost every problem you'll have with android, one of them being mine (in my signature).
Hello to all, I have a simple question i hope, i would like to change the operating system on my HD2 from Win 6.5 to Android 4.xx. There are only 3 choices: AOSP, CM9 and MIUI. Go for either CM9 or MIUI. If you want stability then just use a CM7 or MIUI GB ROM.
I selected CM9 when I looked for new android version. I think you should try both and select yours.
But 1st: read cearfully ALL win-> android instructions!

Yeah a CM9 rom will be a good choice but do not expect a perfect build as ICS is still a work in progress. As for navi, google navigation does the job quite well imho
I am using NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.2 from Tytung.
I dare to say it is very stable until now - using it from 2 weeks.
Only 2 apps are not working - Gallery (working whit some bugs from time to time) and FM radio.
For the 2 native apps Tytung did post 2 different apps that you are able to use.
Also READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before doing anything to the phone.
For 2.3.x rom i recommend (i flash roms allot) HyperDroid-CM7-v5.8.0[a2sd][CyanogenMod7 LEO 2.3.7][seader_R9]
Have fun.
