[Q] Galaxy S 5 CDMA Activation after Rom Install - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey so i was wondering, I'm on a CDMA Samsung Galaxy S 5 and everytime i install a custom rom i loose the activation on my current network which is a Small network called Triangle Mobile. I could just go to the place and ask them to activated my phone again, but i would prefer to not do this. Is there anything i can do to preserve these settings so its activated on the new rom i install?

ROM for S4 on Cricket prepaid

Hi,
I'm looking for a good rom that I can run on the cricket or straight talk S4 (I'm unsure of the specific model those are on those prepaid networks)
The following features are required:
1) tethering without having extra fee or carrier blocking
2)theme chooser based themes
3)can run an ad blocker
4)are easier to install like cm installer is or at least not so PC dependant becuase my most stable system is server 2012 and some software won't run on it and my laptop is windows 7 but it's slow. I need an install process that won't brick the phone, as I am low on cash to be replacing it.... I just got enough saved for the phone and service itself and would be royally screwed if it were bricked.... I don't have the luxury of getting a new one if it is bricked and prepaid carriers don't help you with anything you are on your own.
5)has working NFC and LTE
service area is 26101 zip code
Go into about phone. The model should be there. A specific model name would be more helpful.

help me with my Note 3, I want to update

Hi everyone here on xda Note 3 verizon forum,
its been a long time since I have been here, I remember few things, my last device was S3 after 3 years now I have recently bought Note 3 Verizon version but I doesnt live in the U.S. So I need to ask few steps,
1. What I have to do in order to run on LTE because 4g is not working, whenever I try connect on LTE/CDMA the network signals disappears so I have to be on Global or GSM/UMTS in order to use the network properly.
2. What things I needed ? Like, how can i backup my this stock rom ? and do I have I have to go on stock really ? And from where I can start simply ?
3. Please tell me how to root ? and how to get on proper recovery, and later I have to install the custom ROMS too
4. Can i get rid of this [ Using non-Verizon SIM card bar ] ?
5. Last, I know XDA from a very long time, there are lot of members who can guide me easily
Thanks in advance.

The problem is the APN and you can not modify it. Contact your carrier and see if they can assist.

You might look into getting your CSC "sales_code" changed. I'm not sure if that is entirely the problem, but it is likely related. Even the USA Verizon ROMs come preloaded with databases that are used to provide custom parameters for a variety of carriers and locations world-wide. (See the file /system/csc/imsprofile.xml for example) I suspect the way this information is actually used is through the "sales_code" CSC value, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
I'm guessing you want "INS" or "INU" instead of VZW
What you currently have:
Code:
getprop | grep -i csc
If your handset is supported by Airtel, one of their technicians will probably know how to do the CSC change, possibly without even rooting the phone.
If it not supported, they probably will be under orders of their employer not to help you at all. But, is is easier for them to give you advice face-to-face, rather than over the telephone (subject to monitoring), if that is possible.
A question to ask - a form of social engineering - is this: "do you know of someone in the area that can help me for a small fee?"
[EDIT]
There is one other possibility for a non-rooted phone. I really don't know if this would work (I am speculating here), but the basic idea is to apply a CSC for a closely related device Model (a SM-N90???? Qualcomm model, hopefully for CDMA/LTE) that is for your country and carrier on top of your existing ROM using Odin. Get the CSC file from Sammobile, and:
- wipe the entire phone using the stock recovery. (You can remove the external SD card first if you like)
- boot the phone, shut down, boot into stock recovery.
- wipe the entire phone again in the stock recovery
- boot into Odin and flash the CSC in the CSC slot.
- boot the phone; do a minimal configuration and see if you have the service you want.
Note that @donc113 s advice given above is the right place to start: ask your service (Airtel) to help you before you try anything yourself.
good luck.
when i purchase it was good... there was 4g indicator also.. no verizon boot screen.. but now it dont works..

One of your friends who installed the stock ROM apparently didn't understand the consequences of what he did. Stock ROMs set the APN for Verizon. Did this friend happen to make a backup before he did the ROM switch?
