[Q] sm-g900h need help - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
i have galaxy s5 exynos variant (unlocked)
I bought it from Jordan
I going to turkey next week ,gonna stay there for long time
The problem is , if I insert a prepaid turkish sim it will work only for 2 week
Because I didn't buy the phone from their provider
is there anyway to make it work ??
I mean can I change my Rom or my buildnumber to turkish one, so they can not notice anything , really don't want to buy new galaxy s5 , the prices there are too high

I don't know why you are saying that it will only work for two weeks, but if is just change the buildnumber you can flash a turkish rom with odin, but i'm no a expert in the matter so hope someone can give you a better answer.

[Q] Buying S4 @ Samsung Store UK-Which FW is inside?

Hi Folks,
If i buy a S4 in a SAMSUNG Store in the UK (London) - will the Firmware/ROM will be completely unbranded?
which 3 letters denotes such Firmware? i.e 9505XX***? will i get OTA updates even if i'm not in London later on ?
Will such a Firmware have the option to add a Hebrew keyboard and input ?
is it part of the original OS or SAMSUNG remove it for the UK market?
thanks
Thanks

Well i'm looking for a Samsung official firmware that can be updated from Samsung like any other.
i dont want root or custom it. i just want something similar to what i get from an iOS experience. Official updates by samsung to device
as far as i get it the updates for S4 are controlled by the Operators, if i buy at the samsung store will i get updates which are not controlled by the operators. We know that operators do not release updates quickly and its annoying.
Here in .IL the i9505 is not the official phone - here its the i9500 and no lte. the i9505 is being sold here non official yet with a customized firmware that translated the TW to hebrew (YUCK) which is made by someone unknown - no idea how i can put a Samsung official (English firmware) that will get me updates, and will also support allow to install the built in hebrew input keyboard. no need for a hebrew gui.
any ideas?
thanks
i bought 2 from handtec uk store (black and white)and i recieved different versions.. the white was I9505OXXAMDB BTU & the black one was from Poland i think, cant remember but was strange language on the box !!

Thanks man, can you please check if you can add a hebrew keyboard input on any of those?
i wonder if i should get the 9505 or the i9500 here - no LTE here in israel yet - maybe in 2 years...

Thanks a lot Odia !
I have two options - but an i9500 Octa core here with no LTE (LTE will be here in 1-2 years) or the i9505 in London.
What do you guys recommend? the i9505 as far as i see is not that bad and will support future LTE here while the i9500 will be hard to get rid off as everyone will want an LTE phone then...
Thanks guys !

best place to buy unadulterated S4 is amazon... make sure you buy from amazon not from third party sellers selling in amazon... I would get the LTE version if you want LTE.

sorry my bad didn't read it properly first
if the phone is locked,u will have to get it unlocked here, which costs anywhere from 2k to 5k in India, not sure...
U shud be wise enough to consider all facts before buying it... Like warranty,locked/unlocked and all
also, keep in mind, Samsung do not repair foreign models here...
I have a sgh-a867 here which is damaged, but Samsung refuses to repair it,and no local dealer was able to either..

[Q] SM-N910C LTE not working in UK

Hi guys,
I am new to Samsung but like many I was tempted by the Note 4. I bought my Note 4 in Dubai (unlocked and not tied to any provider) but when I tried using it in the UK with a UK SIM (EE) I am not able to make/receive calls when set on LTE/WCDMA/GSM but I can when I select GSM Only. Samsung UK is not interested, Samsung Dubai poit me towards Samsung Egypt (because apparently this is an Egypt region phone) and Samsung Egypt do not understand what my problem is and keep sending my region unblock codes when the phone is not region locked.
Has anyone had this before and if yes what did you do to fix this?

I have been reading a lot about rooting and flashing ROMs but being new to this I am not confident enough to get into all that. I hope there is a solution without the need for rooting !!!

SIM works on my HTC One and 4G signal here good so I do not think it is the SIM. I updated firmware two days ago using Kies but no change. I am starting to suspect some sort of network blacklisting by Samsung but not sure. I also spoke to my network provider and problem not with them.
I want to test the phone in Middle East first to make sure that it is not some hardware fault bit if not my only option may be rooting and flashing different ROMs. I am also hoping that Lollipop may solve it but no way to get it now as I am not rooted yet.

Download Samsung phone info from play store, check your region, also you can check knox warranty is void? U can also check refurbishment check from same app, seems to me u purchased online, not from authorised store of dubai.

This are the mine screen shot for dubai rom, u can compare.
Thanks for the screenshots. I compared with yours and it is now even more clear that mine is an Egypt phone. Do you know if I can flash the UAE firmware on my phone with or without rooting and if that would work so that the CP, SP and CSC are the same as yours rather than the Egypt ones?

Yes root is not required to flash U.A.E firmware, u will get all as mine, u need to clear cache & data before & after flashing through odin.

my friends have this similar problem and its fix
This is how "you need a working sim from the country when you buy the samsung phone"
all you have to do is make a international call for 15 minutes to the original country
example u bought the phone in egypt so u need a working egypt simcard just call the operator in egypt and listen to the operator for 15 minuts from UK after 15 minutes (make it 20 minutes just in case) turn off your phone and change it with the UK sim card
this method works for me
u dont need to flash or root the phone
just remember this method only work with samsung unlock phones from middle east

For the G900F, the firmware is G900FXXU1BOC7
When looking for firmware that will work with your model S5, make sure the model number is the start of the firmware version
