Which is the best gapps package to use with this ROM?

Hey guys,
is it possible to restore apps via Titanium Backup?
I tried it with root access for "apps only" and "apps and ADB"
After that i flashed superSU via TWRP.
So that i could restore some apps. But e.g. not the xda App.

I think this depends on the app as there may be changes due to the different runtimes (dalvik on kk and art on lp)

Setup Wizard has stopped
Installed this and went to cyanogen boot animation after reboot for a couple of minutes. I was thinking that i got boot loop but then the animation stopped and showed "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped." . Any idea on how to fix this ?
Rookie here, had a few problems installing Cloudy G3 on my D802 with the system wipe ridding the ROM's and Gapps. Can't even remember how I got around that.
Could someone please enlighten me as to the correct way to flash CM without the above problem happening?

CM12 But without a micro SD card, I have to put the ROM on the phones memory and doing a system wipe before install rids the ROM image.

Some questions
Hello, I'd like to know if everything is working, like NFC and infrared, and if is possible to use third party apps to do the LG apps job (like QuickRemote).
Another thing, the camera quality is very decreased or it doesn't make that difference, cause I know that almost everytime we lose camera quality when changing to ROMs that aren't stock.
And a personal question: what do you miss the most that cm12 doesn't have and LG has, and what do you like most that cm12 has and LG doesn't.

Didn't try that on CM12, but on CM11 infrared was working and you can find the quickremote apk in the forum.

The quality seems okay for me, like on CM11 or stock.

What LG has:
The remote controll in the status bar.
The immediate screenshot editor
What CM12 has:
Long press Vol up/down to skip track (on stock I had to use another app for double tap)
No LG Apps I don't need
it's faster

Thank you, it already helped me. Indeed the design of LG's lollipop is the main reason that I wanted to change to cm12. They simply turn lollipop into a stylized KitKat, and I didn't liked.
Hey Calvin,
Try a USB OTG (Double-ended USB stick with micro USB at one end, or just a USB to micro USB adapter cable). You can store the files to flash on it (CM12, Gapps...), and use it from recovery. If you don't already have one, there are plenty of cheap options online.

Is there a way to force mobile data to only 3g instead of 2g/3g? I remember switching from 3g preferred to 3g only from *#*#4636#*#* at cm11. Is there something similar for cm12?

The title is kind of misleading.
This isn't AOSP , but a sort of skin for an HTC rom to look like vanilla.

There is no Youtube app and the Nexus live wallpaper stays white, other then that and the auto rotation issues once its fixed iys gonna be my daily rom

2) would it be possible to take the messaging app from this and use it on another rom?

google maps installs fine from market... and there navigation r0x.

Hi all,
I just rooted to Carbon ROM and am able to scroll around and open applications etc, but my Home button isn't working, keyboard isn't available, gapps are missing etc. I loaded on the latest gapps (gapps/gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip) through CWR but I guess these issues are pointing to the fact it hasn't worked? I might be wrong on this, so please correct me.
My phone has 4.3 android and loaded with SuperSU v 1.65.
Please help?

It's a Nexus 4. I figure out the issue. It was basically an incorrect gapps file, so none of the basic phone features were working. Thanks though.

I wiped 3 times, TWRP factory wipe twice, then advance wipe once. Same result
I also asked in rom thread but i wanna try zram. But i cant find a good way to turn it on? Can someone please explain where i can turn it on? Rom and kernel are running great btw!!!!

Hi, since I installed this rom, I don't have access to mobile data connection anymore. I went back to another ROM via recovery and data was back, so it has to be a ROM problem. Any ideas? My model is D806 (Argentina), maybe I should install the D802 version?

Hi everyone, just installed this Rom and new kernel. But my phone never sleeps (see screenshots), maybe because I flashed new kernel in a row with rom on clean install? In addition to that everyone seems to get 40k+ on antutu I only got 29 :/

I have twrp installed, but it doesnt seem to work. My bootloader is not unlocked which i know right there is an issue. Maybe thats why it wont twrp wont work. However, people using your rom on the t230nu have had sucsess, so obviously there is a way to unlock the bootloader. Would you know how for this device? Ive researched hours on end and have seen nothing for the tab 4

i was needing to know why you did not preroot the rom you posted for our tablet. i currently am running the stock ne2 firmware and am rooted so i'm not sure if you were unable to preroot it or what? i really would like to try it but i need the root permissions for some of my apps to work and i really hate stock firmware. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah i hope you get us a 1.5 version soon...but i would like you to make a touchwiz versio(all touchwiz apps like samsung apps,samsung calendar, all samsung apps) and a non-touchwiz version that we dont need and replace it with google stuff (just remove the touchwiz apps and but a link for the gapps that we need to flash

I don't think that's going to solve the problem for custom rom flashers. That's just putting a launcher on the system. We need stock 4.4 android.

so waht serbia was wanting to say probably is he wants something aosp'ish but touchwiz IS only a launcher, it doesn't affect what apps are installed from the factory or am i incorrect in that assumption? i have seen other roms with stock everything and had nova baked into the rom to replace touchwiz on the peoples rom 3;17 for sprd-710 galaxy s3 so if they can do that whats stopping our tabs from doing the same?

Yes i understand you but in the sistem there is touchwiz all the samsung apps that clunk up the sistem,the device has 1.5 gb of ram(1.20) but 1 gig is always busy becouse of touchwiz,and thats why i want a stock android rom,without the touchwiz settings and notification bar and everything touchwiz and samsung....
Petition cyanogenmod to see if they can make it for us, i know they are porting cm into the snapdragon based tab4 but being based on a marvell processor is a little difficult with all the safetys and junk they load into our system. Give it some time to see what our devs can do and you might be surprised by them as i have been! If not you could always go buy a nexus!

Same here. Tried several times, used cwm 6.0.4.6 and .7 from Vanir thread. Aroma installer starts, asks to choose the filesystem and stuff, but the install stops in 0% with status 7. Phone is rooted.

Error messages.
com.android.something is crashing every 3 seconds and finally the phone becomes unresponsive after 1 or 2 minutes. Installed on a deodexed rom via CWM.
My problem is the same.
If possible, ask the installation step by step description .

Same here. Installation process works fine, chose f2fs for all partitions. SIM Card won't work, no PIN request.

Just uploaded an install log from my phone. Maybe it makes it easier to find out what went wrong.
Themes crashing
I installed this new version and everything works ok now, if it only wasnt for themes randomly sending error messages. Like every few mins "Unfortunately Themes has stopped working." But SIM and WLAN work flawlessly with new install method! Thanks for your work on our OLD phone
Camera don't working

I've flashed beta v2 of your ROM yesterday. It's working just smooth and fine, I think it's more stable and bugless that Vanir ROM. Everything's working for me exept Themes - I uninstalled that via Titanium Backup.
Only bug that frustrating me - I can't get any camera app working - some of them says, that it can't connect to the camera. Maybe today I'll try to reflash ROM again from beggining.
Anyway, that's piece of good job! I'm waiting for f2fs support (if there will be).

If you have installed TWRP, can you flash BETA 1 and report if f2fs works?

Hi. Im noob at this so don´t be angry at me for my ignorance. I followed all the guides at unlockr and when i finished flashing this rom my phone won´t boot. I only see the screen saying "samsung galaxy xcover gt-7710" and nothing happens after that. I can still enter recovery but when i try to reset to factory default i get the same thing. Just got the phone two days ago so i whould very much appriciate if someone would take the time to give me some help!

You can download Odin and reflash original samsung rom. You will need skomer.pit and CODE_S7710XXAMB6_963581_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5.

Seems stable running
Negative:
Can't get root working,even if it is switched on in settings. Or do i something wrong?
Can't make Calls. Get force close.
Can't access contacts. FC
Can't set any ringtone. FC
For Calling and contacts you can use ExDialer and for ringtones you can use Tone Picker from the Play Store.
Do Themes work?

Didn't tested themes. Thanks for the hint with ExDialer and Tone Picker. But I still had no luck with root access. No root app gets access, because there comes no question if I want to give it.
