plz tell me about battery performance of hd2 android - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hey guys, i m using wp7 on my hd2 with original 1250mA battery which last 4 to 5 hrs on moderate use. Now i hv decided to use android kitkat so plz tell me ur experience of hd2 android battery performance...plz, reply.....

if you choose good rom like tytung roms without apn(3g) internet and normal usage you can have 1.5 days charge.
with apn(3g) and roms like 4.0.4 or 4.1.5 and normal usage 1 day.
with apn and rom 2.3.7 like typhoon you can have 1.5-2 days charge.
wp7 is not good for HD2.

thank u so much for reply......so is there any kitkat rom from tytung?.....

i hv also heard about extended battery .....do u have any idea about it?

android rom with best battery life?

what is the android rom with best battery life? and how is it compared to an htc desire?
I am about to buy the hd2 but the only drawback i am finding so far is battery life as everyone seems to complain about it
and i often listen to music on my phone... like 4-5 hours per day...
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895059
Of all the ROMs from XDA I was tested on [26.JAN] [DFT / Cwm] NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9G [Android2.2.2] [Kernel: tytung_r2_oldcam]. The only that keeps me the most battery.
Sorry for my english
thx for the reply! how long does it last on regular use (some calls, some games, sms, browsing and music)
the best way to find out which rom gives out the best bat life is to experiment with the different ones out there. and a big factor also lies in your set up. i've already upgraded my hd2 rom and radio and i'm very pleased with my current set up as follows:
rom: chuckyrom lite
radio: 2.15
android: mdj froyo 4.6
by far it's given me the best power battery output ever. to give you an idea, i charge my phone in the evening. as soon as it's 100% i then unplug it. that'll be done at around 10pm when i go to sleep. i wake up at 6am and the battery shows 97%. not bad for 8 hours on standby. and i'm using live video wallpaper. on the way to work, i watch vids for like 40 minutes on the train. by the time i get to the office, my battery is at 80%.
cheers

Most Android phones have poor battery life, thats just how it is.
There is many, many different things you can do to improve it and its all documented here on forum.
really? however htc hd2 is initially not an android phone.. i am worried that it's battery life would be worse than true android devices?
I have push mail and weather updates and such running on an android Darkstone RAM froyo sense rom, and the battery life is as good as, or better than it was on windows.
It's more stable than windows, that is for sure.
I have dual boot, so I can still boot into windows too, so the android is extra.
another question: is the robot voice still an issue with some android roms? while reading threads of android on hd2 whether ram, sd or nand, i often see people complaining about robot voice issue!!! i hope it's no more there with the newest android roms... that sounds like a very bad issue for me!!

what is the latest android rom with best battery life?
last android rom im using lasts only 6 hours with the extended battery .... im looking for a rom with long battery life so it can last for at least a day ......
I think all nexus roms from tytung have a great battery life.
---------- Post added at 04:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:57 PM ----------
in my opinion this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693319 is very stable and battery friendly.
I have choose this for my moms phone. And she is very happy with it..
Tytung
Yes every ROM from NEXUS bu tytung have great battery life. I think you should use jellybean 4.2.2
I used SlimKat (more than 2 days battery life), but it was very slow and I changed it to Nexus KitKat.
Unfortunately, Nexus has worse battery life than SlimKat.

[Q] Battery life

Two days ago I installed Cyanogenmod SDSL4 on my GT540.
I knew that such ROM would drain more battery than stock ROMs, yet it's draining too much battery, a lot more than I was expecting: with stock ROMs my device would stay alive for more than 3 days without a recharge, while with this ROM it went off during both the nights passed since the installation!
Is it normal that with this mod battery life went down to ~30% of stock ROM?
I'd like to flash my device again with a ROM that drains less battery, what do you suggest? Would it be possible to quantify the average battery life for the different ROMs?
Also, from a technical point of view, why are some ROMs draining battery so much more quickly than others?

- it is normal that custom roms eat a lot more battery
-> you could try to calibrate the battery (app on market) might give you some extra life
- the most batteryfriendly is definitely 2.1 ROM (stock or modded, eg Eleganceswift) then 2.2 (very good ROM: utopia or superfastfroyo)
2.3.x is well known for the battery problems (on every ROM)
quantification ? well :
2.1 100 % "batterypoints" ~ 3 days
2.2 66 % "batterypoints" ~ 2 days
2.3 33 % "batterypoints" ~ 1 day only
- technical view : i think there are many facts but mostly the features of 2.2/2.3
Thanks for the answer.
I like this ROM, but it's not worth to me if the battery lasts this short.
I'll move back to 2.1 for now, but am planning to try 2.2 soon.
Looking at some 2.1 ROM posts I had the impression that they are better in everything with respect to the custom ROM (they say custom ROMs drain less battery, are more stable and have a few fixes). Is that true?
I want a 2.1 ROM with fastboot mode enabled (but I guses all of them have fastboot already).
Other than that I'm not sure about the differences between the several 2.1 custom ROMs: which one would you guys suggest (and why)?
Quarx black would be I think the Best. Modded kernel and theme
i dont think there is a post for this rom so i am uploading the rom and posting the link here
i will say that 2.2 and up is better then 2.1 but for battery life yes its best all newer phones like the htc sensation or galaxy sII can hold more then a full day
quarx black link:
http://i.minus.comundefined/dPtuXmZ8uhYtt.zip
Thanks for the suggestion, and sorry for my delay.
Could find a link to Quarx's official thread (it's in russian, but browser's translator is doing a great job) on the ROMs thread.
Is the version linked on that site newer than yours?
And how big does my system partition need to be?
System 250MB and data 134MB like with the stock ROM?
EDIT: Could answer myself to the latest question: here they say a 150MB partition for system is enough for Quarx.

[Q] About battery life

I noticed every time i change rom on my LG GT540, i see some battery problems.
For example: (will not says whos rom, dont want to advertise, but you all know)
I installed 2.2.1 rom and the battery life is between 2-3 days.
I changed rom and installed 2.3.7 and the battery life is 1 day max.
I changed back to 2.2.2 rom and battery goes again to 2-3 days.
Now i got installed 2.3 rom and again the battery life is close to 30 hours max.
On all my roms, i got the same apps installed, same things do i every day, etc.
So here is my questions:
1. Is this normal?
2. If not, is there a way to make my battery more stable?
3. If not 1 and 2, what the hekk shall i do?
Thank you for your time and feel free to ask me anything i can help you to solve my problem.
2.3 will use more battery for sure. so its normal....
me too, i'm using 2.3.7 lewa OS, and only 1 day i have on 1 time charge.
maybe i with switch to 2.2 rom. Which rom do you prefer ?
Can i use some apk file in lewa rom for another rom? ex: sms, setting, phone book?
p/s:sr for my bad Eng.
It's normal because most gt540 Rom are using non-native froyo/gingerbread kernels
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
I'm using 2.2 Utopia and i love it
Very fast, smooth, stable and batter stand for 2-3 days

What battery are you using - a stock HTC battery or an after-market or high capacity battery? Are all the pins of the battery connector proper and not bent/ broken?

Well i agree to the fact that you may not be using a stock battery or something like that. But in terms of high battery drain, you say 20 hrs max and 15 hrs min.. thats incredible to be honest.. im lucky to get 15hrs MAX.. with stock battery. But in terms of your issue that was stated, the only things that come to mind are
1. A non stock or compatible battery.
2. An uncompatable kernel (which is highly unlikely)
Those are the only two things i can think of.
thanks for kind reply ........
according to your question about battery:
i use stock battery 1yrs old....
when i am using previously winmo 6.5 the same battery life only i.e. 20hrs max..
then i luckly checked with a sd build -BoxmaX.S3.5.v8.5....i finally got current widget working with it...it read 230ma in widget and in filght mode it came to 56ma.....but when i come to nand typhoon rom it show error any help ....
i read lot of theards to save battery and reduced a build standby to 3ma to 5ma how to do it in a general build wht to do ,....
if it was a nand rom we can use cwm so we can flash any mod required for nand rom but when we come to sd builds wht to do
pls help me with a mod for battery to get 3to 5ma in nand build.......help me sir
thanks in advance to all xda members.......

I don't reccommend switching to a kitkat rom. They are really slow.. But i don't know of the battery. Just so you know...
