evidently I've screwed up something on my vs980. When I try to boot to recovery I get a fastboot screen with "secure booting error Cause: boot certification verify.
A little background:
I had been running Optimus g3 then flashed xdabbeb 982.5 (following all steps).
After that I thought I'd give AICP a try. after flashing the radio all was good.
I think this is where things got bad: I flashed 24a radio and restored an optimus backup, saved some stuff then restored xdabbeb 982.5. At this point I got a bootloop and dirty flashed 982.5 on top of the backup - problem solved.... until yesterday when I tried to boot to recovery and got the error.
My phone is working fine but I cant get to recovery.
Anybody got ideas?
hmm dunno..maybe try flash a recovery again? or push from adb recovery files dunno... you can even try use autorec app again to flash a recovery Oo maybe this works and after you can get in recovery
so you can try auto rec in order to flash recovery again .
you can enter download mode and go back to stock with kdz
or hmm you can use fastboot if you know how to push files etc etc

I have the LG G2 D802 (international)
I wanted to backup my whole system just in case something would go wrong. So I installed cwm and when I booted my phone in recovery mode it was giving me a 'secure boot error'. But I accidently made a backup with the cwm error (I thought it was still the original recovery but it wasn't) then iI installed twrp 2.7 for lg g2 and that worked just great =). I made my backup. But then there was an software update from android (not google play) so I clicked on the 'install update notification' and my phone turned of and back on. but it booted in twrp instead of the original recovery (duh!) I looked it up on internet and found a command line I had to fill in in the twrp menu (something with 'dd if=/' etc). that fixed the problem but still the update wasn't installed. So I installed my old recovery back (the backup I made but what wasn't the original recovery. I installed the cwm 'secure boot error" recovery back). After I click again on the 'install update notification' my phone went in a bootloop with the 'secure boot error' I fuxed that problem now through this xda thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
But now my phone is stuck in fastboot mode, I tried these solutions but none of them helped...
http://uncle-yakuza.jouwweb.nl/lg-g2-fast-boot-menu-fix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595
After all the fastboot commands are done an they all said 'OKAY' I rebooted my phone and in still booted in fastboot. \
Thats the whole story, and I again don't know what to do....
Good morning or night.... (Here's Morning LOL)
Trying to upgrade my G2 LS980 to KitKat, I'm facing several problems...
I had it on 4.2, Unlock, Rooted with TWRP 2.8.6.0 Recovery... The first try i went to Donwload Mode, took too much to enter (stuck in the little image), and try to turn it off... When trying to get to the rom, i was on bootloop, got in to TWRP and flash CloudyG2 from my sdcard...
At first, enter the rom, but with a lot of errors, so went back to TWRP to flash again (that way enter download mode and flash a fresh one from scratch...) i have no success...
Once i got to TWRP, make the wipes, and enter the rom, didnt enter to it, so went to try again download mode....
After several times, i got it to download mode, select the files to restore... But the LG FLASH TOOL, gives me error now, saying something like, user data partition wrong side or not found or move, it was something like this: "user partition move" and then "LFA() NOT FOUND" or something, i cant remember I'm at the office and cant do the operation...
I try 5 or 6 times to flash it.. and everytime the same error... now i cant boot to anything, just stuck at Download mode and thats it...
Is it Hardbricked?, the partitions disaper or have errors....
Thanks everybody for the help, hope i have some posibilitys to restore my preciuos G2...
Sorry for the repost, i didnt know if got edited or not the original first one...
BTW, nothing on this? do i have to enter fastboot mode to push partitions? how can i do it?
Thanks again y sorry again for the repost...
Update: Flashed a ROM and the D801 laf.img as suggested and things are up and running normal again.
Alright, so I've tried going through a number of solutions but none of them seem to work for me at this point.
LG G2 D801 (T-mobile version, unlocked)
Rooted device with stump root
Installed TWRP with Autorec
Stupidly took an OTA at this point, it gave me the "secure boot error" once and now the device has a bootloop at the LG screen (without the "secure boot error" text, mind you)
Attempting to enter Download mode (Vol up + plug in usb) has the same bootloop (nothing even close to showing download mode nor fastboot)
I can access TWRP though, and the device is at least visible in adb once I'm in TWRP.
I considered flashing CM to it as is, but I wasn't sure how that would affect the issues with booting and download mode.
Also, before someone suggests this thread about reflashing the kdz/tot, I don't think I can, since I can't seem to enter download mode.
Suggestions? The goal was to get to BlissPop ROM, or CM12.1 if that didn't end up working well for me, although at this point I just want to get it working however I can.

Flash a a ROM so that your phone is usable. Then you can flash download mode using flashify. Download laf.IMG for the d801 and then you can use flashify.

Great, that worked like a charm!
Thanks so much.
It feels like a dumb question now, it'd just been a year or two since I last flashed a ROM and wasn't sure if that was the right step to take next or not haha.
ROM is up and running well and laf.img got my download mode back, so all is well again.
I got cm 13 running on my d801 g2 the other day and I'm not a fan of it so I'm planning on flashing to cloudy g2 2.2 but now i am unable to boot into twrp. I enabled root, installed twrp and even enabled advanced reboot to boot directly into recovery but i keep getting secure booting error Cause: boot certification error which is what i was getting on stock android before getting cm13, i fixed the issue before with the kitkat auto rec app but I've read that auto rec can cause a hard brick if used in marshmallow. Trying to get into twrp through twrp, cm advanced reboot, hard key(power and vol down) recovery, flashify and adb reboot recovery command all cause the same error message. Any advice? I tried flashing twrp 3.0.0.4 and that put me into fastboot as does any other twrp version I've tried in flashify

It will give me the download mode message then goes to a black screen. My computer brings up 15 disc partitions with only one partition containing data, one folder called image with files include adsp, cmnlib, mc_v2, modem, playread, wcnss and widevine they all have duplicates with different file types b00-b26 and mdt .
So, I did brick my D802 in some way.
After a long history from cloudy g2-g3, rr, cm12, cm13, lineage 14.1, I clicked by mistake on the OTA of the lineage.
I thought I could stop the update once in the recovery, but I got stucked in the recovery bootloop. I got rid of it via recovery terminal, but system didn't boot. I tried reflashing lineage, nothing happened, I tried restoring a cm13 full backup, nothing happened, so I got back in download mode to restock with lollipop kdz (the one I used every time I restocked to change rom). It did not work, and I had to download a different KDZ to get to stock again.
Now, all the methods always used to root + recovery didn't work, so I manually rooted, installed the proper AUTOREC, but it didn't work (as I understand after hours of searching because supersu had updated himself in the meantime).
So I tried to install the TWRP image using flashify, it didn't work and corrupted something in my recovery. So i tried to unroot everything and reinstall the original root + supersu without letting him autoupdate. Not working.
Well, now I can boot and I can get in original lollipop rom, but I have no recovery and download mode appears but doesn't work anymore (once I had 3 COM ports when connected in download mode, now I can see only one; kdz flash does not sense the phone connected). When I try to open recovery I got the error "boot certification verify, secureboot error" in the top left corner of the screen, then a white page opens with the message "critical error" "demigod crash handler", volume up to download mode (that opens but does not work), volume down to reboot.
Now, I am stucked, I cannot find any suggestion of what to do to get the recovery working or to get the download mode working again.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much guys.
Not sure will it help but you may give it a try:
