baking functionality into an app
I'm currently evaluating baking this functionality into an app.
Can anyone confirm that the following makes sense?
If I haven't missed anything, everything needed for this can be done from an app (except fastboot oem lock and unlock).
the app would work as follows:
1. you start out with an unlocked and rooted nexus 7
2. you start the app, and hit a button "save current state as unlocked state"
3. you perform a fastboot oem lock
4. you start the app again, and hit a button "save current state as locked state"
5. profit. from now on, use the app like you would use segv's boot unlocker.
The first question is, have i missed anything that renders this impossible?
Other questions revolve around making this more fool proof for users. (what can you detect, where do you store stuff, ..)
While I have sufficient(?) general knowledge of java, shell-scripting and android, I lack knowledge about the specifics of app-development and the quirks of interacting with su from an app. (and most importantly I lack time, but who doesn't).
So if anyone wants to run with it, be my guest Otherwise I'm also happy for opinions and tips on the specific idea. (If I write this, it'll be a slow project without garantees , and it'll be a spinoff or enhancement of segv's app. I've had a look at his app's code and feel confident i could hack this functionality in, at least the part that concerns java app development)

Trying out the HADK on Nexus 7
Hi folks! I'm a first-time SailfishOS HADK enthusiast, and this is my first XDA post. I've spent the last few days grinding through the HADK process, and have built a couple of ROMs to install on my Nexus 7. I'm starting to hit some snags, though; a ROM built on Hybris 12.1 / Sailfish 2.0.0.10 very quickly fell into a bootloop, and I wasn't able to figure out the cause. I rebuilt the ROM on Hybris 11.0 / Sailfish 2.0.0.10, and this worked much better; at the very least, I can get the kernel up and running far enough to receive some debugging output. Unfortunately, a ways into the boot process, I'm getting a kernel oops ("Internal error: Oops: 817 [#1] PREEMPT SMP), which may be associated in some way with the cgroups configuration ("kernel BUG at ../../../../../../kernel/asus/grouper/mm/memcontrol.c:5343!"). So, I'll probably be grinding through another rebuild tonight, after examining the kernel config a little more closely.
I'm just wondering if perhaps there's some more info available about HADK & the Nexus 7; such as, are there known problems with using more recent versions of Hybris or Sailfish on this tablet? Perhaps I should go all the way back to Hybris 10, since that seemed to work with the Nexus 7... Thanks!
CyanogenMod
For obvious reasons, CyanogenMod can no longer be downloaded from download.cyanogenmod.org
I have tried to build CM-10.1.3 from source on my laptop running ubuntu 16.04 and I've downloaded the source code ok, but brunch isn't working for me. I'm a relative noob so I haven't worked how or why I don't have brunch and am having trouble installing it.
Is CM-10.1.3 available anywhere else? I happened to download CM-10.2.1 before downloads stopped working, but that doesn't seem to work with this Sailfish OS download.

Framework Mods Safe Media Volume Disable
I flashed the framework mods file that included a few tweaks such as tethering and something listed as "Safe Media Volume Disable". Can I get a more granular description of exactly what this is supposed to do? I was hoping it was going to disable the nag screen when you try to turn the volume up, but I'm still getting it.

I've attached the screenshot. Further examination and attempting to replicate the problem appear to indicate that this is only happening after a reboot. Once I've accepted it once, I can move between applications and push the volume into the red without a problem. Assuming that's how it's supposed to work, I can live with that.
[Guide How-to] Remove Safe Volume Warning Note 4, UNDO
I'm using a 910G snapdragon. I used cwm to flash the zip file, and it works fine. Only problem is that I can't access Private mode no matter how many times I reboot the phone.
I do not have the stock file to undo it. Can someone help me please? Thank you!
"Stock Framework" file for 910G
Help, anyone able to provide me with the "Stock Framework" file for note 4, SM910G running on 4.4.4, nk3.
I think I flashed the stock framework file for a 910T and my phone is bootlooping at the Samsung startup.
thanx for sharing

Can you please add quick launch shortcut(the ring thing when holding home button). I lock my phone use it . Thank you !
I have it on my to-do list
Running 5.1 pre2 and so far everything has been great. I noticed in the features section (for 5.0.2) an advanced power menu is mentioned. Is that in the pre2 build?
Sorry, didn't make on that build but I hope on next.
new but not new nexus 4
Picked up a nexus 4 on the cheaps. Issue is device is stuck on cwm. Apparently previous owner deleted is files and now won't boot into anything other than recovery. I have stock os file and two ROMs I was thinking of trying. My problem is I can't communicate with device (no drivers) I downloaded the universal drivers and I also downloaded both google and nexus drivers that I got from other posts on here. I still can't see my device on my computer. Any help???

Great work on the ROM. Guess 5.1/Test-4 does not include battery percentage at status bar and some other things mentioned in the feature list yet? Which radio/bootloader versions should I be running with 1.1? All I'm getting with is bootloop.

yes, no battery percentage right now, maybe I leave it out.
how, what did you flash to get bootloops? from 1.0 I wouldn't dirty flash. but from pre2 to pre4 i did clean and dirty flash and have no issues.
I did clean flash, couldn't get it to boot no matter what I wiped. Need to run 5.0.x droid until Xposed is updated, can't live without that.
Take another rom if you wanna use xposed, thank you
Hey Cem0,
Would it be possible to add in the volume rocker long press to change music tracks while the screen is off? It's one feature that I used all the time on some other roms. Very handy for changing tracks while driving, exercising, doing dishes etc.. If not, no biggy. I can live without it. Great work so far
Hi, Can i flash Semaphore_N4_3.0.5 on this rom? I'm on disco_mako-pre4.
Great Rom!! Perfect for me. Thanks.
I had the 3.0.4 version running on that, I guess .5 won't be a problem, maybe I'll add my build of sema with kexec patch again on the ROM, but later
Very good ROM, thanks!
thanks, good ROM))

Change CM device check or Phone device id
I have a 201M, which means Japanese Motorola RAZR M from Softbank and identified as "scorpion_mini_t" by CM.
As the CM for scorpion_mini works perfectly for the australian one (scorpion_mini_u) and I already checked that they have the same processor, I'm quite sure it will work for mine device too.
DiamondJohn altered the CM installation zip file so the device check would look for scorpion_mini_u instead of just scorpion_mini.
I don't know how to do this and already tried searching.
Another option would be changing the device name. I already altered the build.prop, but when trying to install CM with CWM it keeps telling me it works for scropion_mini, but "this device is scropion_mini_t". I really can't find where CM installer gets this information from.

What I did (at my own risk) was find the "updater-script" file within the ZIP at \META-INF\com\google\android\ and then changed the very first line to include mine and replaced it back in. I think you would also need to turn of signing verification for your new frakenstein zip. You may also wish to let someone at CM know about your mobile, as after a few more releases, I found that the the flashable zips were changed, and I no longer had to do it.

Decompile framework
This is maybe (surely) a noob question, but why can't we access the framework-res.apk??, for I always lower the brightness to 2 lux to make the screen useful in darkness.
Any way to help get a Nexus 10 ROM built?
Is there a way us Nexus 10 owners could help with getting a ROM for the Nexus 10? It appears there are 1 or 2 updates in April and 4 updates in May without a Nexus 10 release.
Thanks,
kees

Hi,
This sounds like an incomplete wipe problem. Did you wipe /data?
Caution: you'll need to back up your apps & settings if you want to keep them.
