Recently upgraded from the S4 to S5, and the only thing I'm disappointed about is not being able to set up VPN unless I set a pin or password as screen unlock.
On the S4 (unrooted) I was able to set pattern unlock, which I would like to do on the S5. Any ideas how I can do this without rooting? I only occasionally need VPN access so prefer not to root or have to use pin/password just for that.
Thanks!
That's not possible on stock ROM.
Or maybe try this method: https://seo-michael.co.uk/add-vpn-account-to-galaxy-s4-without-screen-lock/
Is there a reason it worked on the s4 (also stock rom)? Is it just a difference in the rom version on both devices?

So the wife managed to lock out her Nexus 7 totally so it no longer accepts screen pattern unlock - only allows gmail account but does not accept the password. Password is correct as can log into gmail elsewhere. Is there alternate method to unlock apart from hard reset as really would prefer not to??
Nexus is rooted and reflashed ROM Thanks
I had a question, I rooted my tmobile s5 with odin and cwmod and afterwards my lock screen settings were changed so that pin and password are the only two ways to unlock it. The other settings are there but they're grayed out so that I can't select it. Any ideas on why this could be? Bad root? I need to flash another ROM (I kept it stock btw)
So here' s a problem that makes zero sense. When I try to install the certificate for FoxFi and put in my security method of choice (PIN), it will take me to a screen that tells me to draw my unlock pattern even though I never set or initiated one. What's even more funny is that there isn't even a way to draw an unlock pattern when it asks; the input method is for PIN, so all I can do is insert numbers.
Has anyone run into this and knows how to get past it?
Recently installed Foxfi on my wife's Note 3, didn't have any trouble.
Suggestion: go into your security settings and setup a PIN before trying to install the certificate. If it is already setup, it shouldn't prompt for it during the installation.
Are you by chance rooted? I was working with a stock VZW Note 3.
Hi guys, hope anyone of you can help me. My girlfriend has a n910h with tw 6.0.1 stock rom and she uses the dactilar scanner to unlock the phone, the thing is that she ask me to change the alternative password and i stupidly try to change the unlock method to password instead of the dactilar scanner. Now the phone appears as it got the password but it doesn't accept it and the lockscreen appears only swipe to unlock and don't ask for a password. I can't change the unlock method because it doesn't accept the password. Sorry if i made any mistake writing this. Hope you understand and can help me :crying:
Hi,
Every time I go to use Android Pay, it makes me enter in my full backup password instead of asking for my fingerprint, which is really annoying. I'm running 6.0.1 stock. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks
I am having same issue after updated my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to MM 6.0.1....asking me Back Up password everytime.
