sleep mode - wake up with TV (but it shouldn´t) - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
my nexus player is disturbing my DVB-T signal (dont ask me why - but its definitly the nexus) - its working in sleep mode! I can put the player into with my TV Remote Control (HDMI CEC). My Problem is that the Nexus is waking up whenever i turn the tv on (even i m not on this HDMI Port!). Is there a option to disable that feature?
thanks

On my TV you can disable CEC to a certain device/HDMI port, does yours have that option?

[Q] SlimPort no mirroring

hi.
i'm using my nexus 4 (CM 10.1 nightly from last week) and an SlimPort to HDMI adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009UZBLSG) on my Samsung TV.
when i connect the phone, it switches to landscape but the screen is black. it is connected ("no signal" disappears on TV) but i have no picture.
if i open up YouTube and play a video, i see the video on BOTH (TV and phone) but i have NO CONTROLS on my TV.
any video i found showing SlimPort shows a direct mirroring of the mobiel screen on the TV.
when using miracast (samsung dongle) i have a perfect mirror with all the controls (and on youtube only the video) - thats fine.
how can i get simple screen mirroring with SlimPort?
is there any setting to disable "multi-monitor" and use "mirroring"?
tanks in advance.
It's the same for me.
I am using my Nexus4 with [ROM][JB 4.2.2][PA3.15][AOKP-MR1][CM10.1]P.A.C True All in 1 ROM[09/04][V22.0.2]
Slimport plugged in to Nexus+TV: Picture only on TV. Nexus 4 Screen is on but black.
After pluggin out the slimport: Picture back on Nexus 4.
This issue was fixed in M3 for CM ("experimental" build from the 11th), and the fix is in the most recent nightly as well.

HDMI signal loses connection any time I try playing a movie from Google Play Movies.

Running into an odd issue where my Nexus Player (latest stable 5.1.1 release IIRC) will instantly lose the HDMI connection when I try playing a movie through Google Play Movies & TV. The weird thing is, the moment I press the back button to go back to the app's menu, it reconnects.
I'm using this HDMI switch (name printed here since I can't link to outside links): Kinivo 501BN Premium 5 port High speed HDMI switch with IR wireless remote and AC Power adapter - supports 3D, 1080p
Not sure if because I'm using this HDMI switch that it's causing the issue. I can watch YouTube and other stuff fine, and my Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV both play movies without an issue.
Having the Same Problem
I am having the same problem. Have you tried to bypass the switch?
It sounds to me like it's some sort of DRM which takes effect when the movie playback begins and is triggered because of the HDMI switch in between your Nexus Player and TV. A direct HDMI cable test is the only way to know for sure.
When I first got my switch and connected to my dvr I could not fast forward without the screen going black.
I plugged my nexus player straight into an hdmi port and the movies worked.

Yeah, that was my thought.
Sadly, though, I don't really have the space to give one of my three spots just to the Nexus when my other streaming devices work as intended, so I'll just have to ignore using that app until there's a fix down the road, if there's one.

Turn off HDMI-CEC capable TV?

Hi All,
Apparently the Nexus Player supports HDMI-CEC. I can control the player using my TVs remote but the screen does not turn off automatically after the player turns idle. Is there way to switch off the screen when the nexusplayer is idle?
Thanks!
So you just turned on CEC and your remote worked?

Controlling your nexus player using your TV remote control.

Today I have coincidentally discovered that I can control my nexus player with my Hisense LTDN50K220 TV remote control. It has full functionality of nexus remote. Anyone also experienced this with another TV?
Yes. It is called "HDMI-CEC".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#CEC
I have a Panasonic that automatically turns on and switches to the correct HDMI input any time I send a cast from my phone to the NP or anytime I push a button on my NP remote. And I can also control the NP with my TV remote as well. HDMI-CEC is pretty damn cool

Does Fire TV Stick remote have same disconnect issues as NP remote?

I know that the Fire TV Stick remote works with the Nexus Player:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/accessories/fire-tv-remote-nexus-player-t2939508
What I'm wondering is:
1. Does the Fire TV Stick remote have the same disconnect issues as the Nexus Player remote? The LED on the Nexus Player remote will flash fairly frequently, which I understand to mean it's lost connectivity with the Nexus Player. It always seems to reconnect on its own, but I've noticed it can often be slow to respond. For example, if I'm watching something and then pause it, it can sometimes take up to 10 seconds to pause. Every once in a while it doesn't work at all and I have to press the button again.
I don't have the same disconnect issue with the Nexus Player gamepad, so I'm guessing the problem is the remote itself. The Fire TV Stick remote is cheap enough that I wouldn't mind picking it up if it solved this problem.
2. This isn't very important but I'm also curious if the menu button on the Fire TV Stick does anything on the Nexus Player. For sideloaded phone apps, perhaps?

in my experience with NP and NP remote and when i could pair the FTV box remote i always do/would loose connection even on the phone remote app along with constant audio dropouts. sad how google fails to release a solid rom for this device and or fails at correcting major issues. i have since lost my NP remote so im stuck using remote app or my samsung Tv remote via cec connection
the menu function can be used in kodi with addon keymap editor
i do have a samsung BT keyboard that may take up to 10 seconds to wake from sleep however battery life is very poor only lasting 1-2 weeks if that.
In case anyone cares, I bought the Fire TV remote (https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Remote-Amazon-Fire-Stick/dp/B00LORGAG6). The menu button on the Fire TV remote doesn't work and there's no voice search, but it seems to be quicker to respond and has less issues overall, although there are still occasional issues: every once in a while it'll be slow to respond or if you press a direction the Nexus Player will act as if it's been pressed multiple times.
So it's not perfect but it does seem to be a lot better than the stock Nexus Player remote from ASUS and I pretty much only use the Fire TV remote now.
