that is odd, the part that you cant not get into recovery is strange, did you try to flash a custom recovery and see is you could get into it? if so do a factory reset and see if it helps...

I don't think it is the buttons problem because when I try to enter the recovery mod the blue text appears on top left, do u have any idea what hardware-wise could be the problem ?
Did you try flashing the stock recovery in ODIN? If you can make it work do a factory reset then try flashing a stock ROM again. It sounds like something is corrupted, I have had the same problem many times and stock recovery can always fix it with a factory reset.

hi
running out of ideas...
did you try what post 8 said?
when you flashed the stock rom did you used a newer or same type of rom you had in the device? Odin will not let you flash stock rom with older bootloaders than the one that the device has.
Flash a stock firmware again, but this time, flash a PIT file at the same time as the stock ROM. Make sure to get the right PIT file for your phone model.
Remember to add the PIT file to Odin - If you flash your phone with repartition checked and no PIT file selected, you will break your phone!!
If you've been using custom ROMs, chances are that their partition layout is not a stock layout, and that would explain why flashing a stock ROM isn't working for you..

I really dunno much about these things, can you provide me with the right PIT file? that'd be so much appreciated mate
To be honest mate, if you don't know what you're doing you really shouldn't be messing around with pit files. Please read up before flashing stuff.. Here's a good link for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
And here's your file, for when you're ready for it..
https://www.dropbox.com/s/t1lvy5oa5mxk3xh/I9505_pit_file.zip?dl=0
Flash the pit file at the same time as the stock firmware. If it still doesn't work then flash the pit file on its own after you've installed the stock firmware.
But most importantly, have a good read of that thread I linked you to.
Please post back, let me know how it goes..

Go to sammobile.com. you can find stock firmware there. You have to register but it's free. You'll download a zip file, use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file from it. Use that in Odin.

Use mdl. Odin is a separate program and is not us or Canada. Read this guide and use the tar.md5 for your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26056924
Take your time and read the guide more than once. You can permanently brick your device.

When you use Odin, let it do its thing. It'll take 10 to 20 minutes. Don't panic in the middle and unplug the usb. Be patient. And make sure you use the file you're downloading from sammobile. Don't use any of the links in the guide, except Odin. The other files are not for your device and they will brick you.

For some reason my recovery wont work? maybe thats it? all i know is my recovery wont boot, and i flashed a bad kernel. I have my twrp backup on my external sd
Also... all i had checked was auto reboot and f. reset time. I flashed the reset file with pda box checked.
forgot to add. i flashed the file with those two boxes checked and it said pass. I think it must be the kernel or the recovery? how do you flash these in odin? I bet if i can track down the stock kernel and get twrp again it may boot.

If you are positive you can not get into 3e recovery, you might want to go to the OUDHS CWM thread in the development section and look at the OP for a method to install that recovery via ADB shell. If you can get it installed, you can then flash another ROM to get up and running. Then, if you desire, you can use GooManager to put TWRP back on your phone and restore a working Nandroid you might have. Or you can just set things up from scratch. But all of this is only if you can get into recovery or get a recovery installed back onto your phone.
If you tried to install the wrong Kernel for your phone, you might be hard bricked, in which case Jtag might be your only hope.

I hope you get it figured out. But let me tell you what I DID and had the same outcome with NO RECOVERY at all, black screen with vibrate only. So what your describing sounds EXACTLY what happened to mine.
So I was "TRYING" to make a custom splash screen as I had for my SGS3. (Which messed with the kernel). When I went to boot up after the flash it did the black screen with vibrate.
I COULD get into DOWNOIAD mode but not recovery at all. I tried for a few days. I was worried my battery would be getting low after trying for a few hours. I tried to plug it in and the battery came up but it acted like it was stuck and nothing would happen.
Next I tried to use Odin to flash back to MDL stock firmware. It would flash and said completed. But upon reboot same half/vibrate screen.
Next I tried MDB firmware. STILL a NO GO. I had to send it in for JTAG. I think they had some issues getting it working as well. It arrived on a Thursday, and they did not finish getting it to where their site showed it was completed for 8 days. Then it didn't get sent out for another day. It finally arrived at my house 10 days after they received it. But GLADLY they were able to fix it. So good luck to you. If you do have to resort to JTAG it cost me a total of $90, Almost $30 dollars for me to TWO DAY it to them. $60 for JTAG and rush delivery.
Sent from My Spiderman Themed I337
Sorry to hear Odin didn't work. Odin does put the stock recovery on your phone in the correct partition if every thing goes correctly. But if your hard bricked Odin won't recovery the phone.
Try what Scott suggested but it's looking like jtag may be your best option at this point.

hell yeah this phone is hard bricked. But att was cool and let me return for a new one. Really no questions asked as long as you didnt damage it or get it wet. Rip to my first gs4. Hello dear Forum Geeks
I Recently rooted my samsung s5, sm-g900f, and then deleted Applications whitout freezing them first to see if theyre unecessary.
My Menue Button didnt seem to work anymore. Anyway, thats the short story why i wanted to Flash the whole system whit the Stock firmware.
i downloaded the 1.5 giga Rom, it seems to fit my country and even my provider. G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FVFG1ANE1_G900FXXU1ANE2_HOME.tar.md5
i went into download mode and flashed the rom via odin, which went well until 99%, then a Fail! message appeard.
i removed the battery and tryed to turn the device on, now the message Firmware upgrade envountered an issue, please select recovery mode appears.
This sayd i followed the turtorial http://androidcentral.us/2013/09/how-to-fix-firmware-upgrade-encountered-an-issue-on-kies/
and now iam on step 5, which is putting your S/N number into Kies so it can find your device. Unfortunately it doesnt accept my S/N number, i reaally dont have a clue why.
so, no firmware emergency available. It might be because i didnt use Kies from the beginning to flash the rom, or..... anyway i dont know what to do now. Please help!
Thanks in advance,
jan

Try it once or twice or so many times, until you enter into download mode..

My phone just suddenly stopped working earlier today.it was running the latest omega rom with the latest modem and boot loader. ...
I cant get into recovery either. When I try it just reboots and goes to the samsung boot screen.my phone is a sim free insurance replacement and im not sure what stock rom to flash...
Could some nice soul just tell me the exact rom thats needed.
Its a uk based I9505 .
Please some one help as im away from home atm and have no way of contacting anyone.i have laptop and a dongle so can at least download and flash.
What ever has happened has corrupted it somehow.
I can still get into download mode how ever.
Id be eternally grateful if there is some nice soul to.help me
Just download and flash this with the latest Odin. Boot in download mode.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=33356
This is the latest German FW that Omega is based. It has the "OXA" Multi-CSC, which also includes BTU (United Kingdom)
After flash you will not have any problem retrieving all your data, as long as you don't factory reset.

Hey
So i flashed lollipop on my galaxy note 3 SM-n9005. I was on custom kitkat rom before flashing.
I used this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2495688
I dont know what went wrong but i cant make calls/recieve calls, same with text-messages.
I followed installation-guide and flashed:
modem.bin
NON-HLOS.bin
Quote:
1. IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY MINOR ISSUES, PLEASE FLASH THE OFFICIAL LOLLIPOP
MODEMS VIA ODIN FIRST FOUND HERE
2. PLEASE MAKE A CLEAN INSTALL EVEN THOUGH IF YOU ARE COMING FROM V22
CHANCES ARE YOU WILL BE FINE WITH A DIRTY ONE
3. I THINK THAT'S ALL- WHAT I DONT HAVE LISTED IN THE FEATURES MEANS ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE
4. OH, THE 1ST TIME YOU BOOT POWER MODE IS ON- IF YOU DONT LIKE IT TURN IT OFF
5. THE FIRST TIME YOU BOOT IT MAY TAKE UP TO 10 MINUTES.
PLEASE BE PATIENT AND HAVE A CIGAR WHILE WAITING
6. ENJOY AND DONT BE A LEECHER

When trying to call my phone from a friends phone, normal beeps... but it just doesnt show up on my phone..
edit: It did show up on my phone, 2 minute's after i hung up.. It seems like my phone is delayed ALOT wtf!
in settings/about phone, do you see the correct baseband(modem) number you flashed ? could be a bad download ? did you flash via pc odin ?

I tried installing UK firmware on my Galaxy S8+ using Odin, but it got stuck at system.img and now I can only boot the phone into download mode.
I've tried installing the original firmware as well but it also gets stuck at system.img.
Has this happened to anyone else? And is there anything I can do to fix this or am I ****ed?
Thank you very much in advance for any help
Did you use the most recent version of Odin (v3.13.1) ?

Yeah I did.
I've spent half the day trying to fix this, but it actually seems to be hard bricked.
All I wanted was the Pie Beta
If your Odin and files are right it might be the cable, if you're not using the original cable it causes that it happend to me many times. Hope this helps you

Well that is a very dangerous process and should not be done if u dont have any major issue but since u have pretty much death phone as u say it cant hurt to try as a last option.
Google what nand erase is in odin option,it will explain much better then me [emoji14]
Wish you all luck
Edit : try and see if u can find any emergency firmware aka repair firmware for you s8 if it exists and flash with that

I've tried it now, same result as always :/
In download mode it says OEM LOCK: ON, could that be the reason why?

Since u trying to flash samsung official firmware it shouldn't matter. Dont know what to advice as u tried pretty much everything i would do.
Maybe someone with more insights and knowledge what to do could help you but dunno.
Search the web all i can say.
Can u boot into the recovery? Maybe try to flash twrp and format everything from there ?

I think I've gone through every forum post and article on the internet about the issue, can't seem to find a solution.
Can't boot into recovery either, only download mode. I'll keep trying and I'll see if I can send it in for repair.
Thanks for your help, really appreciate it.

Have you fixed it already? If not try flashing everything with odin and also in 'Pit' tab put dreamlte .pit file from inside CSC .md5 file(open with rar)
Double check your files make sure you're not flashing an old fw and your Odin
After that, you probably try to flash using a non original data cable, its not a must but some cables can cause that

I've triple-checked everything. Both Odin and the files are all up to date, and the files are from the same firmware I had on the phone before it got bricked.
I'm going to try using firmware from SamMobile instead of SamDB.org, and will post back with results.
UPDATE:
Flashed firmware from SamMobile, it went through and my phone works again. Can't believe I spent $7 on SamDB for faster download speed and all I got was some files that don't even work properly. Next time I'll be more patient I guess
