Hi,
I've got an issue: the location (street name) is not showing correctly in the Gallery app. GPS coordinates are correct because if I open the same picture in Quick pic then I get the correct address (even up to house number when I'm at home).
In Gallery app, there's an offset of a few hundred meters. I'm having this issue on several Rom versions already (GoldenEye, now on latest version).
There's definitely nothing wrong with GPS, only the app is acting weird.
Any solution for this? Don't tell me clear data, because I tried that.
I've found this for S5 but there's no solution.
Sorry if it's not a solution, but it's possible it's a bug in Sammy's Gallery app. Why can't you just use Quickpic?
Yes, I can use Quickpic but I like the features of Gallery. Strange that almost no one reports this issue? Am I unlucky to be one of few people who suffer from this? Or does everybody use Quick pic?

Recently I found the camera fails to focus in various occasions. The image in the viewfinder stays blurry no matter how I configure the camera app (stock/3rd party). But it can capture clear close-up shots so I assume the camera is somehow fixed at macro shots. To fix this issue, I have to open something like Barcode Scanner (which will continue adjust the focus) and leave it for a couple of minutes. Then the camera will be working again for a few hours or so or until I reboot the phone.
Does anyone encounter the same issue? I would like to know whether it is hardware or software problem.
PS: I am pretty sure this is nothing related to any sort of settings/configurations.

As I said I am sure it's nothing related to configuration. It's more likely to be related to software (if not hardware, which is still possible).

I have this problem with third part apps too.
I have no problem about this.
No matter I use stock camera, vignette or camera360, it focuses normally.
What camera app are you using?

i have no problem at all. whether i use the stock camera app, or cameraFX, my camera has no issues focusing at all.
since nobody else is actually experiencing the problem, it might be something related to a fine setting, or an application thats interfering with your camera app. why not u try a hard reset and see if solves the problem?

Thanks for your reply. Goggle often freeze and cannot focus normally.
The picture will be blur when I put the camera about 30cm away from the targets using goggle app.
Do you have the same problem? I don't know whether it's a software problem or firmware problem.

I saw many ppl meet this problem on Chinese forum even using the internal-camera app.
I think it's firmware's problem.

its quite odd that different firmwares seem to pose different problems: ie from what i noticed those running GB and EuroRetail versions seem to have a problem with the responsiveness of their hardware keyboard. AsiaRetail has a bug issue with the contacts search, and now the ME722 with a camera focus issue. what i have seen with my camera is after a reboot, when i capture a picture, the picture ends up being captured, but the capture animation freezes until i hit one of the soft keys. not really a bother but its still an issue
really, it all boils down to the same argument, that Motorola and MotoDevs really need to address these issues in fixes and updates, cuz really though some bugs arent that annoying, certain ones like a malfunctioning keyboard and a non-focusing camera can be a real pain in the a**.
@ the person tho started this thread: why not you try to flash Argen2Stone ROM? perhaps that might solve your problem?

Sadly, I am currently using Argen2Stone 1.8, but still experiencing the problem.
I tried to flash back to UK2.2, which the phone came with, but still no luck.
The "barcode scanner" trick temporarily solves my problem. Yet who wants to run it for a few minutes before taking photos?
I swear I won't purchase any Moto smartphone in the future. They simply ignore customers outside the US.

Sorry if I'm asking something obvious, but I searched here and there on the forums and could not find anything related to my issue.
I just put Floyo 0.20 on my xperia X8 and have been fiddling around with it for a couple of days now. I didn't really check the camera/photo function up until today and I found that when I want to take a photo a "grid" is displayed on the screen.
This "grid" does not appear anywhere else, not even when switching to video recording. Is this something normal (like to help with aligning the pictures horizontally) or is it some kind of a bug?
Again, sorry if I'm asking something obvious, I'm pretty new

Not an bug, it's an grid for taking photos, i don' know how to disable it either )

Ah ok, thanks. That's what I was thinking too, but was not really sure if that's the purpose of the grid.
Strange thing happened. After a recent reboot, the grid disappeared and looks normal now.

Hi to all.
I have recently installed on my I9505 the Thor s7 style rom with patch v2 and
when i try to shoot a video on any resolution it work's BUT when i go to gallery
instad of video image it show's a grey icon with this ! sorry my english is not that good
and the video play's normaly it's just if you shoot many videos in one day you won't know wich video is what..
Please anyone know something about this?

i try to replace the gallery from another rom that it is exactly the same i set read write so i can do this but nothing
works see i like the MM gallery and i would like to keep it stock you know?

Your two options are: Get another gallery app, from the play store, or get another ROM.
Possibly another camera app, some come with their own galleries.

Hi guys,
friend of mine got a Mi a1 but noticed a problem on Messenger. Ususally when you go in the picture settings folder in the settings menu there should be an option on top to auto save received pics.
But the option seems missing. Only the option to auto save taken pics shows. Had several updates of the app already and even installed the beta version but the option is never showing up. App permissions for storage and camera are granted. Anybody facing the same issue? Never experienced that on another phone before.

Yep, the top option isn't there in my friends phone. Maybe better to contact facebook then since it isn't a device specific problem
Do you have an additional gallery installed? Or just use the google photos app?

No additional gallery, and no permissions granted, maybe there is some setting in facebook related to this

After open 6 update, I notice that photos looks worse than in open 5 and some functions like hdr are not working. Is the camera service not working?

Wait for the open 7. Sad but true. I tried everything that you can imagine. The only way that I fixed this, was installing the oneplus camera mod. The problem seems to be with the new camera app or camera service. The stranger thing is that I only saw you and another guy complayning about this.
Did you both clean installed Open Beta 6? Cleaned cache?
Sorry if this seems trivial but to have the same common ground it would be helpful to know this.

Sure. The problem is with latest camera app (2.5.25). I uninstalled it and installed the 2.5.23 from open 5, and everything is working now. The problem with 2.5.25, is when you take a picture and see it from the gallery shortcut on camera app, the post processing will not working, but if you go into gallery app, the post processing will be realized.

I am asking because i am using OB6 and i cant reproduce this misbehavior. It is working as it should and if this would be a reproducible problem, the OP forums would be filled with this i guess.

But, here is not working as should be. If I take a picture and try to see it directly from gallery shortcut on camera app, the pictures will be with much noise and hdr and hq will not be applied. But, if I go into gallery, the pictures will looks great and hdr and hq will be applied.
