You will need to go through the process of learning how to root and unlock the phone. I hope there will be enough support or assistance for you on this site and that it being an N9006 won't be too problematic.
I am in China, but went out of my way to avoid the N9002, N9006, N9008 or any other variant they are selling here. I get my hands on the N9005 in a few days, so time will tell if it actually bloody works or not in China. It wouldn't surprise me to find that we are stuck in the same same boat on different shores...

Actually the process looks like it might be easy enough for us:
http://techbeasts.com/2013/09/27/ho...ot-samsung-galaxy-note-3-all-versions-guide/#
Describes the way to do it.
Then you'll probably need to stick the most recent GAPPS on it, if it isn't already on it.
Good luck and have fun getting through the nervousness of rooting your first (I presume) device.
Cheers.
Should I return the n9006?
Hi there - I'm living in Shanghai and just found this thread. I bought the sm-n9006 today and was excited until I started reading about region locking and non-LTE versions, etc.
This is my first Android device so I'm super new but the bloatware on this thing is annoying! I wanted to remove this stuff and get some Google apps installed but I can't even find the Google play app to get started.
I'm concerned that because it's the mainland china version that this is going to be a bigger pain than it's worth. Should I wait a few months and have a family member buy a US model? Any other reasons to stay clear of this china model?
Is rooting the device a must if I want to get full access to apps, etc.?
Also, it seems this model does not have LTE. Is that correct? I ravel/stay in the US over summer holidays. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

The bloatware won't be your main problem, it will be no access to google apps. I wouldn't worry about no LTE, you probably won't notice.
Importantly for Laowai, rooting is necessary, unless you are fluent in chinese, and can therefore use the Chinese markets and apps.
There are quite a few places online to find out how to unlock and root your device - this forum/link above/galaxynote3root.com/etc. I think you'll need about three to four hours of uninterrupted time (as a beginner), a pc (I've used a mac and it is annoying), fast-ish internet speed (to dowload the files), maybe a vpn to look at You tube clips that exemplify (eg, gfwvpn.com is handy and easy to install on both your computer and device), and only a small amount intellect.
You go through the process as above link or elsewhere, and then flash on an updated GAPPS zip if it isn't on the stuff you downloaded.
People here and elsewhere have really made it simple compared to when I first did mine (or maybe I have a little more knowledge). I'm only really just getting the hang of it all now and find it really enjoyable part of Android experience. Actually, just fell in love again with my S3 using CM... Wondering why I am going back to touch wiz, actually...
I'll know on Monday if it was the right choice for me after a day with the new giant phone.
Good luck.
Thanks for the post and information, I am new to android so it looks like I'll have to start doing my research. I am not fluent but certainly advanced so perhaps there are some Chinese options though I assume it'd be a better experience if I had it rooted instead.
Are you in SH by chance? I'd treat you to a coffee or something here in Pudong if so while you tutor me haha.
Thanks again for your help.

Sorry, mate. I'm BJ ren. I'm certain you'd be able to find someone in Shanghai who can root an Andoid device with that offer though.
Good luck.
Hah, no problem. I love BJ but our work is in SH for now. If the air quality would get better up north I'd be pushing to move to BJ.
SM-N9006 More than root needed?
I have the same SM-N9006 purchased in China and now back in the USA. Most of the Chinese in the phone was converted to English through the normal settings. The problem is the Apps... they are all Chinese and need to be replaced with English versions. The current ROM blocks all access to the Google Play Store, even if it is side loaded, it is forcibly closed when opened.
Would it not be better to re-ROM the phone with a Samsung stock ROM that will work with the N9006 hardware? Is there such a ROM?
Please be specific on the steps (not the how to's) that need to be taken to use the N9006 in the USA with the Play Store Apps.
Much Thanks in advance, I'm also a newbie on a learning curve.

I just got this Note 3 SM-N9006, I think mine is rooted that it has everything as if it's normal Note 3 in the US. But I note that it does not show that it connects using 4G/LTE. Does it have 4G/LTE, air command, etc ... capabilities to turn on somehow?
Is there an app that display what really inside your note, I mean the actual hardware of the phone?
N9006 doesn't have 4G/LTE. air command is ok

Really? I wouldn't be too happy to buy a rooted phone from Samsung... you won't get one officially at least. Especially if you bought it in China that would mean its been messed with prior to you buying it. I like my phones coming rooted.
If you had them root it after them unboxing your phone ( hopefully not with Kingo App or some suspicious app that connects to the internet to do its thing ) then your fine. Provided you saw them unbox everything...its not a cheap phone.
If the serial numbers on the box and your phone match ( and the box has some Chinese ) then your fine.
If area under the removable battery didn't have any bright yellow sticker with lots of nasty looking Chinese text, then your fine.
If your in the U.S then its fine you don't need to worry about warranty.... as I am still currently in Shanghai I got mine official with a 2 year warranty.
Sorry if I sound too untrusting of phone sellers here. I have been told of the countless stories about how innocent people buy phones they assume are "new". Just recently I had to help my friend fight some store "official Samsung Store" owner for his replacement of a dead Note 2 dud ( you know those fake recycled phones that are sold in Shenzhen from HongKong that live for 4 months tops ).

Hey I got my self a china made note 3. I would very much like to root it to get some bloat ware off, and to also find a android version 5 rom to feel like a cool kid.
It doesn't have a download mode, that is replaced by a Chinese factory mode.

Can N9006 run 3G or 4G SOMEHOW? Or is there no workaround?
Hello, I am having the same issue someone mentioned about not getting 4G (or even 3G) with the SM-N900 (model N9006) Chinese Note 3. I did not see a solution to the initial post, though. My phone does everything else, but running on Edge is pretty shoddy. I called T-Mobile (my carrier), and they made me enter some settings into the "access point names" tab (apn protocol, port number, etc.). This did not resolve the problem, unfortunately. The back of the phone, under the battery, says it is 3G WCDMA + GSM. T-Mobile runs on GSM, so it should work, I am absolutely stumped. As I said, all the apps work, and it is running Jelly Bean, it's just the slow as molasses internet that bugs me. Is there some sort of solution to this? I could not really find anything worthwhile on any Google searches. Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:
I have n9006 and when I type the star and hash key it Cannot display and when switch the data off it automatically switch on and I don't know what to do with the phone,I cannot use it
Hi,
I just upgraded from a GS5 to a GS7 Edge. I noticed the "Read Notifications Aloud" option under "Language and Input" in the settings is no longer there. Specifically, I use the feature to read notifications aloud from priority senders in the e-mail app.
Does anyone know if this functionality is still in the phone, but under a different option. I have tried every third party option, and have been unable to find the same functionality in any of the apps.
Any help would be VERY greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I thought that might be the case too, but then I saw something. I can't post a link here, but if you search on Google for "Menu tree: Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ (G928T)" and do a CTRL-F for the word "aloud" on the first search result that comes up (at least in the US), it is listed in the menu structure for the GS6 Edge+ just like it was for the GS5.

Yes the s6 has it and is easily accessible but we are talking about the S7 and unfortunately it doesn't have it it is also missing numerous other things including the rf sensor needed for remote use for TV .I still use my s5 for all the the things I Miss on my s7 between the 2 you could build one SUPER PHONE!!!
Total nonsense Samsung w alarm and tts
This is a serious error on Samsung's part. Limiting the text to speech (TTS) function and the alarm name read aloud not to mention number of characters and alarms is a massive miscalculation. The INFRA red remote control BLASTER also a (sorry for the caps the idiot bell mobility gs7 keeps doing that very frustrating). Im going to to flash soon to the generic samsung gs7 android or fido. This coupled with how those television and android phone updates, are very vague about what each one does. I phoned the sheeple at 1800samsung , that bozo said "newer is better" regarding my tv update. I said" that's a lie, I updated my gs5 and suddenly video files that played back flawlessly, were not working due to codecs you removed. " He didn't know what a codec was and repeated "newer is better".
I hung up. Samsung if you want to be like apple then improve your phone reps knowledge (yes I have a iPhone 5s too)
Immitating apple by limiting users . At least they add features not get rid of core functions or cripple them.
I rely on my gs5 to read allot let's say at 3pm to say "reminder call courier company and gave packages ready "
Or
"now is the time intake critical mesications "
I used to recommend this to patients
As a reason to have a Samsung phone.
You were on a roll.samsung until gs5 then you introduced apple like hardware and software. All you had to do was update processor and ram and storage leave everything else on gs5 alone ads things like the face recognition that LG has had since their G2 model from 2013.
Was it the young douchebag you Put in charge of mobile decision or the heir to the sun and moon fortune. Get it right Mr sung or your gonna lose many of us.
Ever since the s6 they've been trying to be apple if we wanted apple we'd buy apple . In s7 they took more away ie INFRA , gave us back memory expansion. Samsung may make me switch to LG or something else if this keeps up I've the gs1 captivate, gs3 -gs7.
I doubt Samsung agents come on here. They are probably too busy acting like Jason Bateman 's boss the heir on horrible bosses 1. Lol
If this keeps up I will be abandoning Samsung as my mobile device of choice. They can simply fix the tts and clock in software. Or better yet start at the gs5 and improve things from there. I will not be purchasing a s8 or s9.
Hi all.
This is my first post so be gentle.
I have recently purchased an S8. I am diabetic and i use Abbott Freestyle Libre to monitor my blood sugar. Libre uses NFC technology and a specific reader. There are a lot of apps (including an official one : LibreLink (which is not yet available in my country)) to get the readings.
When i first opened the package (S8) the first thing i did was to install Glimp (app from play store) which does the same thing as the reader. Gets the readings via NFC. It worked fine at the time. Then a notification for update came along and i did it. Ever since NFC works fine with other devices apart from the sensor i have. Glimp does no longer work.
I did some research on the internet and found out that a lot of people have the exact same problem as i had.
I contacted Samsung support and told me it is Abboots fault. I called Abbott and told me its samsungs fault. I called Glimp HQ and told me "No S8!" (lol). LibreLink was even became unavailable through playstore because of that reason.
How i solved it:
I downloaded the original samsung ROM that the mobile came with and installed it via Odin. It was the earliest one. AQCA. Since it was an official samsung ROM, the KNOX was not triggered and i am still on 0 (good news). Glimp and NFC are working as they should without a problem with this firmware.
The thing is that i would like to be able to get the updates without fear of having to roll back on the first rom and do the tiring procedure of restoring and backing up over and over again.
Does anyone know what they did from the AQCA to AQDD regarding the NFC?
Has anyone else solved the issue with any other way than mine?
Thank you in advance.
Don't do the updates it's still doesn't work and we are the 5th of july
I have the same issue, just that I am only thinking about buying a phone.
Regarding LibreLink, there seem to be several discussions around the Galaxy S7/S8 phones and trouble around the current firmware (S8) and the current LibreLink version (S7). The solution seems to be: use an APK LibreLink (S7) or an older firmware (S8) until someone solved the problems. Glimp doesn't seem to work at all with the S7 (non-edge), but LibreLink seems to.
All very strange!
Can you help me regarding the S8, All these firmware names are rather cryptic for an outsider. How can i find out if the firmware is still available for a specific model.
(I am in Switzerland, will buy a non-branded phone).
thanks!!

I know it a strange problem.
Samsung messed it up real good this time.
Right now I am using only Glimp.
I have researched and did a lot of experiments to find out which firmware is ok to work with both applications.
Unfortunately, the earliest firmware that is for EU phones (Unlocked) is not early enough. There are other firmwares that came earlier to companies like Vodafone etc etc. These are the firmwares you need to download. Right now I am using the one that ends in AQCA, which is the earliest one. and it works fine.
I guess that you will have no problem flashing a firmware that is from another company (mine for example that it is the vodafone GR AQCA) and still work fine. The firmware you need is given by SwissCom and it is the same that I am using. No matter what you download make sure that the PDA ends in AQCA or AQC9.
Make sure that you flash ALL files from the firmware that you will download. Not just the AP, but all of them, else you will have different baseband versions and your phone would be messed up in different ways. And definitely, when the notification for update pops up, always choose LATER, or you will have to roll back again after the update is done.
Also, since it is an original firmware i guess, as it happened in my case too, the KNOX will not be triggered.
If you have any questions about how to do it, pm me, and i will be more than happy to help. It was really bad for me having an S8 and not be able to work with something so essential as blood monitoring which a 100$ lenovo would have no problem!!! I was ready to sell it.
That is actually helping a lot. For me it probably just means I won't buy the phone at all and since there is no reliable info on a high-end Android phone available, I will continue using the Freestyle-Reader.
But now that we're at it, do you know what the "AUT" in the other firmwares available for Switzerland means?
I understand the I'll need at least AQCA or AQC9, which is only available for the Swisscom formwares.
Since these are official firmwares, can the official Samsung tool (SmartSwitch) be used to flash them?
And thanks anyway, this was very helpful!

Happy to help.
The AUT im not sure what it is but my guess is that has to do something with the region.
If you decide to finally buy the S8 then the only way to flash any ROM is the Odin application that circles around the net. Very easy to find.
Understand that this happens with S7 and S8 only and that is completely Samsungs fault.
I tried to work around with the freestyle libre reader when my S8 was updated and i did not find it useful at all. I had to always have the reader on me, where my S8 was already with me. I dont carry around a bag to have things in it and that is why it was not suitable for me. If you, on the other hand, have no problem carrying around the reader then i guess that having a libre-working phone pays no role.
SmartSwitch is a completely different tool. It only transfers data (contacts, logs, pictures, video, logs etc etc.) an not system, so this will not be in any case helpful.
Tip for reliable readings with Glimp:
Insert the blood levels from the reader into Glimp manually when u measure the blood sugar.
ex. You measure the blood sugar level with glimp and it states 100. The same minute measure the blood sugar lever with the freestyle libre reader and it states 88. Insert the 88 manually in to glimp the same moment you read it. That way the Glimp readjusts the algorithm that uses to better suit the readeer readings. After a day of re-adjustment the readings from Glimp are not so different from the reader. -5+ around.
If you need anything else, I ll be around and check this post regularly.
Other people need the information too, i guess.
Hey again,
I think we're having very much similar issues – I started with the reader when I got my first sensors and worked with it for about a year, which was great compared to the normal blood glucose measurements.
And now I am ready to change to Android (seems iOS will never happen) and realize that the Galaxy S4 that I am currently using (got it from a friend for free) is much more fidgety to use than the reader was.
By that I mean it can takes quite a while to get it realize the sensor and do the measurement, the reader did it in an instant. Is that similar with your S8? On the other hand I if course completely agree - having two devices to carry sucks, I just ask myself why is everyone making it so difficult for us?
There is another thread on reddit where someone also uses your method, I can share the link if necessary
Now - allow me two remaining questions:
- work with a firmware that cannot be updated – have you had any problems with other apps?
- how do I make sure the phone I buy in Switzerland will be able to use the UK firmware (or another)? You sound quite confident it will work though.
And finally – are you aware of any other state-of-the-art phone that actually does all this without issues? The only one I heard of is the S7 edge, but with other phones we are completely left alone with LibreLink. Doh. I even thought of creating a facebook page that collects information about that.
Now thanks again for your help, feels good to finally not be alone with the issue

Well, The readings with the sensor are so much faster than with the phone because the whole reader is an NFC antenna, where in the case of the phone you have to completely match the antenna surface with the sensors surface. Look up in the internet to find in which part of the phone (S4) is the NFC antenna located for better (faster) readings. As you look the back of the S4 is in the right side of the camera flash.
Yes, i have seen the reddit thread. Its pretty much the same as what i have done. Same problem - same solution.
There also been cases with S7 (not S7 edge) with the same problem. I dont know why Edge is working but the normal one does not.
As for other phones, the one that i was having before the S8 was the oneplus 3T (one of the greatest phones around - extremely powerful). Now oneplus launches the oneplus 5 (20 of June), which i believe will beat the S8 in benchmarks and performance. Oneplus 3T was better than S7. The good thing about oneplus is that you do not loose the warranty if you root it or flash a custom OS. Basically, there is no way to loose the warranty with oneplus whatsoever. And since its one of the most popular phones around the Android community, if the stock rom does not work (extremely unlikely) you can flash another one and still be in top ranks.
I can only suggest though, and be absolutely sure for, phones that i have tested. We have seen what happened with the S8. The one minute was working and after the update not so much... I could start a list and post the brand and the firmware of the phone of phones that work with Glimp (LibreLink is still unavailable in my country). But if it works with the one will work with the other.
As of the confidence that the firmware swapping will work:
I could try it on my phone and tell you.
I mean - my S8 was bought in Greece and it was a branded Vodafone phone. I could flash the SwissCom firmware that will supposedly work with the phone that you will buy and tell you.
Sadly for you (happily for me) I do not have a facebook page or any other social networking page to be part of it.
Hey again
Thanks for the a kind offer (flashing), but it is not necessary. I think I won’t go for the S8 until the issues are resolved or it at least is more clear.
I just tried an S7 with an older LibreLink Version (someone reported it works, I guess you’ve seen that too). It did exactly once, before destroying the sensor (I had only 1-2 days left, so thought I just give it a shot). But I should have known better ?
The OneTouch sounds indeed like a good option, let’s see how it finally looks!
Thanks for helping me!

No problem.
There is a very informative list of devices in the website of Glimp somewhere that states which phone tend to destroy the sensors. I managed to find it once and never again.
The S8 has been tiring for me the past few days with all the problems it has and the problems that have yet to come. I didnt know that Samsung was that unreliable.
Thankfully the S8 is the TOP samsung phone right now in the market and i will have no problem selling it in a good price. I will return to the OnePlus which has the best customer service and no complex whatsoever regarding custom ROMs and device modifications.
I just hope samsung will make it up for all the trouble people have been through at some point.
Good luck all.
PS. In any point in the future, if someone has a problem with S8 devices regarding Glimp and how to make it work properly, feel free to pm me.
Seems like neither Samsung nor Glimp have any intentions to solve the matter.
I, therefore, sold my S8 and bought an LG G6.
My impression are way way better than the S8s.
The G6 NFC antenna is huge and it acts very similar to the reader, meaning that i do not have to get too close to get the reading. This is the only mobile phone that i have seen doing that.
I know that the G6 is worse than the S8 in many ways but it works so much better with the Freestyle.
Hello, I have the same problem and unfortunatelly I have to use old firmware.
I noticed that Samsung pushed new update (16.07.2017) - I found that on sammobile.
Have anyone tried this update (maybe they fixed nfc issue)?
The issue has been solved at least in my s8 librelink and glimp works with the last update

WOW!!!! It's great! This update prompt in notifications is so annoying...... Can you check in the settings exact version number? I mean G950FXXU1............... ?
Good news! Great news.
Someone in the Samsung company has been listening.
Good to know they take into consideration all that have been around.
I have already soled my S8 though so i cannot confirm it but i would take your word for it since you have been having the same problem with everyone else and it has been solved.
Cheers.
Now I can confirm that all issues are gone I installed new software G950FXXU1AQG5 (I'm from Poland, XEO version) and everything is ok.
LibreLink app usage
Hi,
I confirm that since the last software update, Samsung Galaxy S8 eventually is able to read the Freestyle Libre Sensors.
Although, can you share your experience on how do you use the official LibreLink application for countries which the android/iOS app has not yet been released?
I 've tried to download the android .apk with the check for the country disabled from apkpure.com, or even downloaded the official app via VPN (i.e. from Italy) but I got an error message for the compatibility of the country at the very beginning of the app.
Thus, I used the Lucky Patcher app to reproduce the official Italian valid version of the .apk by only removing the compatibility checks. Finally, I bypass the country check and I can proceed to read the sensor. But still I get another error: "Incompatible Sensor. This sensor cannot be used with this version of LibreLink."
Any ideas? Has anybody managed to do it successfully?
Thank you.

Seems like a simple enough question but I've been having a really difficult time trying to gain traction about information on this tablet or any tablet.
Yes. i've owned one since is was released last year but there is NOTHING on xda. Even though it's new and fairly speedy, no one has worked on an ROM for this. I wanted to unlock and root it so I can use it on another ISP/Mobile.

It's very very frustrating, there seems to be very little support for it. Do you know if you can charge while having a thumb drive hooked up? Like OTG style? I have purchased 2 tablets so far and neither have this capabilities. I don't want to be purchasing a third with the same result

I just ordered o e and it showed up today and it also does not charge while a thumb drive is hooked up. Have you found any information or help on this product anywhere. Do you know of any other forums where people actually answer problems? I am so impossibly frustrated

No need to root to switch to another isp. get unlock code from current isp, install odin 3.14.1 and install any isp firmware you want from https://galaxyfirmware.com/model/SM-T307U/ I had an at&t branded with android9, and now i am running wind/freedom android11 firmware.

Hi, thnx for the useful info. Did you have trouble getting the unlock code from at&t? Where did you enter that code? A specific app on the at&t rom I'm guessing?
Getting a sprint version of this device, but want to use it t-mobile. Have read that just factory reset device and use odin to flash other firmware would work, does that sound feasible to you? I'm kind of doubting that but have no idea really.
It used to be flashing diff rom would sim unlock, but not anymore I don't think.
thnx for taking the time, so little info for this available.
cheers
No problem with at&t, although i had to impersonate a US location. Start here: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/unlockstep1
Like I said, vendor unlock, install odin on your pc, use odin to install the desired firmware you downloaded.
The firmware should boot up, but maybe the radio bands are different between the two isp's? and therefore the LTE part of the tablet may not work. i don't care since I don't install a sim card, just use it on wifi.
Thanks a lot for the info guys. For anyone else reading, I used 'T307UVLS6CUH1' (BMC) - and it is unbranded and doesn't have a ton of bloatware.
Also, since there are so few users on this thing, will also drop that I made a stand for it here:
Galaxy Tab A Stand by xnappo
This is a horizontal stand for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020). Admittedly it is a bit specific because of the not-so-popular tablet and the use of a NetDot Gen10 magnetic USB cable. One could use this with USB-C directly - but I do really recommend that (likely stress on USB port). You...

Hello,
I got unlocked ATT SM-T307UZNAATT from eBay.
My provider is Red Pocket, and I have ATT-compatible SIM.
When I try to place a call - ATT window appears and askes to log in to ATT account or create one.
How could I place calls?
Would appreciate any help!

How is the speed/lag? This tablet is mega slow, but I was wondering if I loaded different firmware (currently on AT&T) that it might help, since it can't be rooted.
My 8-yr old rooted Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is better than this thing, but alas a few apps won't run on 32-bit architecture. I think I will relegate this AT&T "brick" to my exercise bike for an entertainment interface.

Meh - no better. It is pretty ridiculous - I was very happy with my 2015 Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 - but it started crashing all the time. This one is slower, thicker, lower resolution, and heavier! 32 GB really isn't enough storage either.
It is super annoying there are not any good 8 inch Android tablets. The Huawei M6 8.4 looks okay, but being in the US it is a bit of a pain to get.

The only great 8" tablet is the Lenovo Legion Y700, running SD870 with 12gb ram. 2560x1600, but IPS and not OLED.
I own the Tab S 8.4 (2014), the Tab A 8.4 (2020) and the Y700 (2021, 8.8").
Tab A is terrible.
It's painfully slow.
It needs root.
It has the same RAM as a tablet 6 YEARS older than it, with LOWER resolution and ! much worse performance. I wish it could be fixed.... Android 10 Lineage is out for Tab S 8.4.

I have done quite a few mods/tweaks to system/Global/Secure settings and also disabled Gaming Optimization Service (GOS) via Alliance Sheild X, it has made a MASSIVE difference. This device's (SM-T307U) performance is being HEAVILY limited by software-based restrictions. Most of which can be disabled without root. I can go into more detail as to how ive sped up this device if anyone is interested.
NOTE - If someone has the ATT version and can drop the .IMG or Firmware .zip that'd be awesome.
Ill keep trying to find a way to root this device until i get a new one, if anyone else has any success, DM me.

I've already deleted, turned-off and disabled everything I can. It's a good bit snappier, but still a dog.
I actually have 2, so I may play around with deleting/disabling apps via ADB. But it's not battery drain, which with some securetask special permissions I've gotten it to SIP power while the screen is off (varies, as low as 2% per day up to about 6-7%).
I checked the usual sources and couldn't find any AT&T image files.

Yeah this this is good on power, it is just severely limited. Judging from similar devices with the same exynos processor, there's got to be something holding it back. I again recommend using SetEdit or something similar to modify some params in the settings tables. The line I highlighted is in both this tablet and my Galaxy S22 & S21. I also found a param in there called "Enhanced CPU responsiveness" which was set to off, after turning that on, I noticed a massive gain in my tablet.
Also worth noting is I added the line "Allow_more_heat_value" with a value of "30" and it allows all cores to boot to max.

I'll have to give this a shot. I wouldn't think AT&T throttled the CPU, which means Sammie did it for some reason. Probably to hit some sort of battery life benchmark. Or maybe it caused instability in some devices. But being a mid-tier processor you wouldn't expect that it needed to be throttled.
I believe Sammie is giving up on the Exynos processors. I bet they had issues on this tablet, said "screw it" and just **** this out with a throttled cpu.

It's 100% a Samsung related throttle. From my understanding, it's done because they use many of the same parts/processors in various devices, so as a way to control device specific performances, they set limitations. For example, this tablet has the same processor as some of their other "Higher-end" models (if I'm not mistaken), so to keep this tablet from outperforming the others, it's limited. I'm sure there are other reasons, like the battery benchmark bit that you mentioned too.
But yeah. This is 100% a Samsung based throttling.

Can you please share the mods/tweaks you've done?
I have one of these purely for its size, I travel over Europe and as the seating space is limited the smaller the better. I am running the Canadian Wind software but if anyone can give me a run through on disabling apps/services to speed up a bit that would be helpful.
I am going to buy the Lenovo Legion Y700 but only when a global version with LTE is available.
Cheers
Nick
So first off, this is not a stolen phone. My neighbor recently passed away and my family was able to buy the house with everything in it. She was quite the hoarder and we found like 20 phones, most were garbage but there were a few S8s and an S10+ preserved in an OtterBox.
When I powered the phone on it was already reset and asking for the previous Pin or Google account.
It's running on SM-G975USQS4DTF6.
The IMEI is clean and it appears to be fully paid off.
I've tried so many different methods (reflashing stock, trying to flash combos, Samsung FRP bypass, etc.) but at this point I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing so I thought I'd ask for some help.
Is there any way to salvage this phone? Or is it as good as a brick at this point?
Meh... we get this once a week or more.

Ah, that's what I was afraid of. Any idea what I could do with the phone? Donate it somewhere where they have the ability to wipe it and give it away to someone? It's just gonna be sitting in a drawer otherwise.
I'll even give it back to sprint, but I was hoping to avoid that since they'll probably just refurbish it and sell it.
Do a Google search. How well those solutions work I have no idea.
At least you didn't get irate like the last poster.
There are solutions and workarounds here though for many other problems with Samsung's.
Plus modes, rooting guides and custom roms.
I appreciate the advice! Unfortunately I've exhausted pretty much every method I've been able to find.
And yeah, you don't need to worry about me getting irate. I totally get it, 99.9% of FRP locked phones are stolen, if you guys encouraged FRP bypass discussions here it would open up a whole can of worms, and that's not worth it for the ~3 people per year who have a legit reason to bypass it.
Thanks for the heads up though! Good to know this isn't the best place to be looking for an answer.
It's a good place for Android answers... just not that one.
FRP is one of my most despised Gookill features.
Worse I have a very long, complex password so entering it by hand is really fun... not.
I disable my account and do the reset from settings to avoid having to deal with it when doing a factory reset. Find my Device is another I hate.
Scoped storage and forced encryption are on the top of my list though. I refuse to go higher then Android 10 because of that Apple like crapware
