I have been trying to make a boot animation from a video I made in Adobe After Effects. I am using Samsung Theme Designer because I am on the stock rom. The problem is that the animation is not going at 30fps. The original video was 1080x1920 30fps. I was syncing it with sound but that doesn't work because the animation is not going at 30fps. Thank you to anybody who can help me.
P.S. Also, there is a duration setting in Samsung Theme Designer which I've read should affect the fps, but it appears to have no effect.
Here is a sample of the video in case anyone was wondering:

i don't think it would be possible for the phone to load a video fast enough when someone calls
this question came up before, the final answer was to create animated gif files, but I was hoping with wm5 and the demo of that halo theme way back that we would have this already....
Just noticed today that when I play back videos I recorded on the HD that the "expand" button to make the video fullscreen has no effect. Then immediately went into the youtube app to test it there and same thing. Again cannot change the orientation. Seems to stuck the way it is.
Can anyone suggest anything?! Thank you for any help!

please oh please message me when this gets figured out to let me know! One of my favorite clips ever GO RAVENS!!!
As far as I know you cannot make a boot animation from a video. The only way I can see to do it would be to grab frames from a video and turn them in to PNGs to make the animation.
This is what im attempting to do now. lol
I know you can make .jifs from a video, so if I could just extract the framed images and convert them to .png via cs3... hmmm.
Hello I was just browsing threads and saw this one. I don't own a Fascinate but I do know a thing or two about boot animations. I do quite a few of them for people on the vibrant side of xda. Anyhow I thought my tutorial might help with making your animations.

once again just trying to help out with some more info.
Hello! I installed the new firmware and I noticed that the video recording in HD is obscene.
First, the registration window is smaller than that which appears with a normal recording, and secondly, the recording is very jerky and, finally, the video does not play fluid.
It 's normal? It 's a problem of the new firmware? It also happens to others?
Thanks!
Working with the same FW as you, tested 720p High quality and works great.
Any issues?
No problem? Do not have a registration screen smaller? Yet it is smaller than the one you have with normal recording.
Not known of the shots when you move the phone?
Just tried it (n new firmware also) recording does seem a little stuttery - and the screen is smaller than when recording VGA - however - I never checked it on 720p before update so I don't know if it is different?!

The registration window is also smaller in the previous firmware... It's because of the video resolution... And I don't notice any slowing in the video... Cheers
I tested 720p High quality and works great too
Sorry to resurrect this thread but i've just had the same thing happen to me. The funny thing is - I updated and the video was working fine until today. I took some HD videos the other week and they were perfect.... now... same as was described here.
Did anyone find a fix for this?
Also - I'm on JJ6 firmware
Going to try to explain this... When I'm using the stock Camera app, the picture is normal. But when I switch to Camcorder, it seems to be automatically zoomed in quite a bit. And when I try to zoom out, it says that since I'm recording in HD, zoom functions are not available.
This is kind of annoying because now I have to step back probably 5 feet to fill the same frame of when I was taking photos.
Is this normal for everyone else too? Or do I have some weird glitch on my unrooted and pure stock ROM?
Yep, mine does it too (stock rom). It only does that in FullHD resolution. I guess the only use middle part of the sensor to read the data to achieve greater speeds, and thus it's gonna be a hardware limitation.
Who need HD anyway ? The lens hardly catch with it. I record 720x480 and I'm very pleased with teh quality.
Change the video recording resolution in the settings pane to 1280x720 and that should fix your problem.

Yeah I noticed that.
But that doesn't make sense. In photo mode, same resolution as video mode but in video mode it's zoomed in. Like Dr. Sid said, it seems that it uses a smaller section of the image sensor to capture video. Which again doesn't make sense. Weird.
This is definetly a speed optimization - scaling down the whole resolution of camera sensor from 3264*2448 -> 1080p is much more expensive operation than just cropping the central pixels, i assume someone at samsung was VERY lazy to have done the camcorder mode in such a lame way, it's still ok for recording outside scenes but useless for in-room recording.
I find this quite annoying also. At first I was wondering if it is a ROM glitch or something, since some of the people here stated that even in stock ROM it is present also.
I hope there is some kind of patch to this, full HD recording is really awesome and I hate to see the 'zoomed' effect.
Yeah noticed the same thing just last night.. Seems to also affect the camera's ability to focus properly in video capture mode as well... Shame on them, I wish I had noticed this sooner.
