CONVERSION N900D to N9005 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all.
I have a Japanese Note 3 N900D in Australia and I'm converting it over Australian Optus N9005
I've been looking at the exelent Universal Android Toolkit. I managed to sideload some apps but then something went wrong.
I only had what must be standard recovery. But I lost that and it would go into Download mode instead.
From download mode I can boot with Odin. I try and install any recovery, the phone rejects the recovery signature but boots back to the phone.
After trying to flash an N9005 ROM something flipped and it got stuck in download mode.
So I downloaded a Japanese ROM. Flashed that with Odin. That ROM was accepted by download and it rebooted OK.
Now I'm writing this up with my phone.
Next step it either a recovery or full Stock N9005 replacement ROM. Not sure which. Let me flip a coin and hopefully get back to you with more good news.

UPDATE: Conversion has not happened yet. There are a number of tools you need for the Docomo Note 3 to un bootloop it or unbrick it when things go wrong.
Stock ROM
TRWP
CF ROOT
Odin
Keep in mind that Odin does not work with .zip files. For those you must go into Recovery mode.
I'll try flashing an Optus ROM soon and report back the results. Perhaps it actually requires a JTAG to convert it...

[Q] TWRP Recovery goes to Download Mode

My device info: Samsung Galaxy S4, Verizon, running 4.4.2
I rooted my device using towelroot.com, installed supersu correctly, then whenever I try to flash TWRP via Rom Installer or TWRP Manager I get a successful message. HOWEVER, when I reboot to recovery using the app or the button combination I get put into download mode and have to connect to ODIN and reflash a stock recovery to get back into the phone. Is there something I am doing wrong here? Am I not able to run TWRP?
EDIT: After some more digging I am seeing that my bootloader may be locked? I just got a new S4 today because my screen has broken. I just want to restore my nandroid from a few days ago to get my phone back to all it's glory but I can't do that without getting TWRP. Unless there is another way to restore that backup?
You need to go to the proper forum. There they can help you further. This section is not for you phone.

[Q] Need Help!!!!!! Phone Stuck at Samsung Logo

I am currently new to all this stuff so i dont have an exact idea what i was doing
First of all i rooted my Device I9500 Which had 5.0.1 Android
then i installed TWRP Recovery and then i was not able to backup any stuff to External SD Card so i installed some Boot.img which i exactly dont remember which i installed from watching any youtube video then later some problem occured It showed some error like "firmware upgrade encountered an issue" then i flashed Philz touch recovery which then worked and i was able to backup my data but i was not able to Boot into my Original ROM or couldnt see an option for that. Then i downloaded The Ozcan V6.3 ROM and tried installing it it succesfully installed but after that its not able to boot uo and stuck at SAMSUNG Logo Screen.
Please Help me What to DO !!!.
Thanks In Advance
If your device can still get into download mode, download the stock Android 5.x image for your device and flash it using Odin. That will get you back to square one so you can start over with rooting and installing the custom ROM.
I had the same problem on my gs4. It would only go to galaxy logo so I flashed the lollipop firmware via odin and all is well.

Just have to flash the default one with Odin ?
i also backed up my old data with philz to my sd card that also and i also downloaded a new Default 5.0.1 ROM ?
Which one should i flash ?
and whats the critera for finding ROMs leaving the model number ? (noob question)
Is the S4 unlocked? If not, what country are you in and what carrier do you have?
My Country is India and its the International Version I9500 and i am not pretty sure that it was unlocked or not .but it was rooted and recovery was installed
Added later :
I just installed recovery back and then tried to install ROM the ROM was also stuck on the Boot Loop I think my boot loader isnt unlocked and ima stuck there because of that
I9500 isnt bootloader locked. And u must be flashing the boot.img on other partition that not in the odin package. So u must search how to repartition ur device. But. U MUST VERY CAREFULL WITH REPARTITION OPTION! U MIGHT BRICK UR DEVICE IF U DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT U DOING!. And if u wanna flash recovery and boot.img or bootloader thing. U must ONLY flash for I9500 version!. And if u successfully repartition ur device. U will lose all internal storage too. Ok good luck

You would know if you were carrier unlocked as you'd be able to put a SIM from a different carrier into the S4 and have the device work. To get you the correct ROM we still need to know your carrier.
secure download : enabled
Hi my galaxy s4 gt i9500 is stuck in a bootloop. When is boot I get "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again"... when I boot into download mode I see "secure download : enabled" which wasn't usually there. Am trying to flash the pit file with twrp but Odin is failing.... is it because of the secure download enabled?? Please help me
You can't flash the PIT file with TWRP.
Do you have Odin? Do you have a copy of your stock ROM, downloaded either from Sammobile or samsung updates? If not, you'll need to get them. You then flash the firmware through Odin WITHOUT the PIT file. This should restore your device to operating condition. Afterward, you will of course need to root the S4 and flash a copy of TWRP to be able to install a custom ROM.
Carrier is Airtel

Galaxy Note 3 Bricked after TWRP flash failed

Bricked note 3
Hello, everyone. So I recently downloaded on my rooted Note 3 (n9005) TWRP Manager. I wanted to install that recovery mode but I didn't download the latest version. A pop-up noticed me that that stuff did not installed correctly. It asked me if I would like to boot into recovery mode and I hitted ''Yes''. And after that it runned Odin Mode. on the first line;''could not do boot normaly''
Now I'll install again the Lolipop Android via Odin but I'm not sure if it'll work.
if it won't,what shall I do?
Btw,when I put my phone on the charger it opens Odin Mode and it's not showing to me the battery image.
sorry for my grammar mistakes
try flashing first!

But I lost all my data
So for those people who will probably have this experience, try to flash the bootloader with ODIN
This is why we need to "do a backup" before playing with the System files

Need tmobile note 4 n910t twrp back up file.

Hey guys so recently needed to revert my note 4 to stock mode. Somewhere something went wrong and i bricked my device. I was able to get it in to download mode but Odin keeps failing. Prob because my device keeps saying kernel is not Seandroid enforcing. So this went on for a few days. I even tried twrp zip files still fails to flash. The only thing i was able to do .... found someone else's twrp back up file and used it as mine and voila, it worked the prob is that that file was from another note 4 model. So. Its running but keeps rebooting and restarting and freezing.
So if anyone out there with T-mobile stock or other phone can make me a twrp back up file and send it to me or upload it somewhere so i can use it as my own . Thanks everyone
Also i there a way to mount phones had to a computer, wipe everything and reinstall everything from kernel to system to recovery to OS. Cause my phone wont except anything except twrp back up files . Thanks again
Have you tried to flash a stock rom from sammobile.com?

I'm a little confused about the title of your thread. The model number for the T-Mobile Note 3 is N900T. You're posting in the wrong section if you truly have the N910T, which is indeed the Note 4.
But anyway Lol, the "seandroid" message is normal for a phone that's rooted and has a custom kernel flashed. It just means the built in security enhancement isn't being enforced. That wouldn't cause Odin to fail while trying to flash a recovery.
If you're still having issues, your best bet would be to flash the full stock firmware with Odin and start over. It will flash the full system, kernel, and recovery. Here is a link to what you need. It's N910TUVU2DOK2 and is the latest 5.1.1 build.

Sorry for the typo. I do have note 4 n910t as i said before odin fails every single time. Tried reinstalling isb drivers, changing usb slots and cable. Twrp failes to write zip file. The only thing i can do is back up and restore using twrp. Thats why was hoping someone has or make me a twrp back up file of a n910t.

You're in the wrong forum by the way. This is for Samsung Galaxy Tab A Series not for Samsung Note 3's.
But I'll still help.
NEVER EVER TRY INSTALLING TWRP AND THEN CWM!!! THAT WILL BREAK THE BOOT IMAGE!
So, Odin does not work, so you should try downloading the latest version of ODIN from the ODIN website.
Then download your firmware from Updato.com (Press OS Updates on the top of the webpage)
Type in your model number and it should come out with results.
Press the right firmware and the country (I'm assuming you live in the US so choose XAR if you have it unlocked. If it is locked then it would be SPRINT or something like that. Reply back if you need help finding that.)
Download it (takes about 5 minutes for me)
Turn off your device and go to Download Mode (Volume Down + Power Button + Home Button)
Open up ODIN on your PC and then plug in your device to the PC with a USB cord.
Wait until it says Device Added!
Press the AP Slot and find the firmware
After finding it, press OK and then press START on the ODIN application.
THERE! YOU ARE DONE! Your Device should take a few minutes and it should be back to original.
If you are having a problem, then reply back to me and I'll answer you preferably at 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. (I go to school.)
Hope I helped!
:good:
