So I am posting here after reading many different threads and I can't seem to get any of the provided solutions to work.
The Razr M I have I was given since it won't boot. (stuck on red droid eye).
I tried the Droid Razr M utility, both versions 1.10 and 1.20.
I keep getting errors like "Preflash verification failed"
When I select recovery all I get is a dead android bot.
Sometimes it will say "no command" above the poor bugger's head.
Since I was just given the phone I have no idea what version of android it was on. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been rooted or unlocked (bootlaoder).
The only information I could gather was in the AP fastboot.
10.9B(*) (sha-1ef557, 2012-10-21 17:10:35) <-this was changed to this after trying the utility version 1.10
Is there anyone who can break it down for me and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Many Thanks.
Nevermind I Fixed it!
I hadn't tried using a fastboot file (used 4.4.2) with RSD lite 6.1.4.
That solved the issue. Now my next question. Is this device unlockable/rootable now?

do you have 183.46.10 or 183.46.15 on your system version?
.10 suffix is unlockable but .15 will permanently lock your phone for the rest of its life. So, beware of 183.46.15 ROM, better yet, avoid it like plague.
Where did you find 4.4.2? I cant seem to locate that version. Only older editions.

Hi i just recently bought a motorola droid x. It had 2.1 android on it. So i uploaded the 2.2 spl file thorugh rsdlite. I just found out the bootloader version is 12.03. Now i tried flashing 2.1 and 2.2 both. after it says manually restart the phone. i restart it and it gets stuck on motorola screen. i tried clearing cache and factory reset it keeps getting stuck at the motorola screen. can somone please help me out here :/. Please help asap
Not sure about the bootloader as 12.03 . When I had 2.1 the bootloader was 30.01, then it changed as updates for 2.2 and finally 2.2.1 . Now the bootloader is 30.04 .
Do a little more research before flashing this, but the newest official built for a SBF file is 2.3.340. You can find it by google. This will change your bootloader to 30.04 and bring you up to date.
Good luck.
What OS are you using?
+1 on the bootloader. That is an odd one, unless that phone didn't originate in the U.S. I think the chinese x had a bootloader of 80.something.
I would start here however:

Well upon further research i found out it was a preproduction droid x :/... i can not find the sbf for it anywhere. Can anyone please help me with this? I'd really appreciate it
bump ^ anyone able to help regarding this please?
are you using the full sbf? not system only sbf
I am not positive, but you should still be able to use the 2.3.340 full sbf to get up to date. You just can't use an sbf to go backwards.

im downloading the files right now, but i dont think the boot loader gets updated when i try i tried once already but its worth another shot or as many as it takes :/
Full sbf didnt work its a pre-production phone

My Driod Pro is stuck in bootloader. It was not rooted. It was completely stock for that past 1.5 years. I had it in my pocket and went to use it and it was on the bootloader screen. I took it to Verizon and they couldn't do anything so ended up upgrading to iPhone 4S but I still want to get my Droid Pro working again...
Any thoughts? I saw other models with the bootloader issue but am not sure if those solutions would work for the Droid Pro.
(hopefully I won't lose all my stuff on the Droid Pro)
Thanks in advance!
Can you post or type what the bootloader screen says?
P.S. why did you go with the iphone over another Android
Bootloader
03.0A
Code Corrupt
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
That's what they screen says.
Went with an iPhone to just consolidate and family and friends have iPhones.
If it was a Samsung you'd use Odin and flash a new rom on...
any moto experts care to give us a clue what should be used for this situation?
I was able to revive the phone!
Used RSD Lite and SBF files. Ran it. Restarted phone by pulling battery. Got the green Androind icon with yeallow exclamation so did a full factory wipe and the phone started up perfectly.
Took a few more hours of research and finding the SBF files but it worked.
Thanks.

you must install droid 2 bootstrapper from market....
open the app click on bootstrap recovery, then reboot recovery...
You must have your phone rooted...
I was going to say your best bet would be to sbf it back to verizon default following my instructions here but ignoring the root part. Iphone? Really??

Thanks bud! There's thankfully a few mirrors out there for it post megaupload now.
I managed to get CyanogenMod9 on it but that was by rooting and then doing the .zip over the top.
But this wouldn't be as thourgher as using a .sbf would it? I mean, the kernel is still old right?
It seems to be running quite well but one problem. When trying to use the keyboard the screen goes blank... how's that image for that kind of thing you reckon?
For anyone else reading this, CM9 ICS seems to work ok apart from that keyboard problem, but I'm running an older kernel.
Can I achieve the same usability as a i9000 on Ice Cream Sandwich...?
Hi everyone,
Please bear with me here but here is the full error I get when I tried to SBF back to 2.3.20 using RSD Lite 4.8 and the SBF file name is 955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf
Bootloader

I have tried multiple RSD versions, 4.7+patch, 4.8, 5.4, 5.6 and have had no luck getting past this message at all. I am out of places to look for help, any kind of insight would be wonderful! I was running stock GB trying to go back to Froyo prior to going to CM7.
I have read the forum post close to mine but it has the D2.35 BL and I can't seem to find any other info other than "wait till SBF is found" and with Droid2 not being sold/supported much I don't see much hope in this.
What can be done to fix?
I have tried:
1FF-p2a_droid2_cdma_droid2-user-2.3.3-4.5.1_57_DR2-31-110719-release-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf
1FF-p2a_droid2_cdma_droid2-user-2.3.3-4.5.1_57_DR2-31-110719-release-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf.gz
BL_D237_cdma_droid2_Consumer_replacer_HSPart.sbf (wasnt sure if this would help with Bootloader errror) have also tried D2.35
VRZ_A955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf
I Have not tried by using the .iso Linux sbf'ing method yet
Try Try w w w droidxforums com/forum/droid-x-sbf/23638-linux-solution-your-windows-rsd-lite-problems.html. The bottom iso in the OP named 1KDStaz_MX_4.5.604.iso. Fix the url above as I can't post links yet.

wont work only new 2.3.4 sbf file
Help! After a rollback to the stock firmware 2.2 through 2.3.4 RDS Lite, Motorola Droid 2 has stopped working, but you can bootloader on, it gives error:
Bootloader
D2.37
Err:A5,70,70,00,1F
MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK

You're going to have to wait until the 2.3.4 sbf files leak. I'm in the same boat as you and it's just a waiting game if it ever even gets released.
D2.37
hondateg91 is correct. Sounds like you took the new .621 Gingerbread 2.3.4 update and, like the rest of us, turned your phone into a paperweight by trying to downgrade. It really is a bummer, and a shame on Motorola's behalf. But don't think you're alone. All we can do at this point is hope and pray that 2.3.4 SFB is released, or someone comes up with a way to load an earlier bootloader that will allow SBF'ing the earlier firmwares.
need help to configure my Droid 2 overall by Verizon in French.
hello, I live in France, I bought a motorola Droid 2 Global by Verizon, the phone works properly, the problem is that it is set in English. and I do not know too much about English, I speak French and I'd set the phone in French, please can you help me? it is very important for me to set the phone in French. Thank you in advance for your help.
Droid 2 Fracais
jamesdmx - This thread is about bricked Droid2's (Not Droid2 Global) as a result of trying to "SBF" 2.3.4 Droid2's to an earlier firmware version. In the future, you should create a new thread, in the correct Sub-Forum, as your message is much more likely to gain attention this way, and you are for sure to get better results.
But since I'm such a nice guy, here's what you would do to change the language:
Click the menu button (the bottom right grey square that has an arrow on it)
Go to Settings. It looks like a grey circle gear.
Go to Language and Keyboard. This is 12th option from top and has an "A" icon beside it.
Go to Select Locale. It is the first option.
Unfortunately the Droid2 (at least the one I have) only gives me English and Spanish as language options. Maybe your Droid2 Global will give you the French option.
If it does not, unfortunately at this point, my suggestion would be to look into a custom ROM that has French loaded into it.
My next suggestion would be to start a new thread about this, in the right Sub-Thread "Droid 2 Global General" (URL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=903). Be sure to include what version ROM is in your phone, etc, so that the Droid2 Global people can better help you.
Whatever you do, though, don't do like me and cook a Droid2 because you didn't do your research before throwing files at your phone.
D2.37 Bootloader
And while I am on this thread, I will throw some ideas out to you guys. Who knows, maybe together we can figure out the "missing pieces" to restoring our phones without the 2.3.4 firmware.
Somewhere in my search, I was able to obtain the D2.35 bootloader in SBF Format. It flashed successfully to my phone.
The good news is, my bricked Droid2 is at D2.35 bootloader. The bad news, however, is that it still will not take the stock or 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware.
Also, while goofing around, I discovered that the bootloader D2.37 was actually sent down as part of the Gingerbread 2.3.3 update, as the Droid2 I picked up yesterday has 2.3.3 and D2.37 as the bootloader. Since 2.3.3 and 2.3.4, theoretically, share the same bootloader, I don't know why it would refuse to accept the 2.3.3 firmware.
I think there's an "extra piece" of code that has been sent down in 2.3.4 that is superseding the bootloader from proper behavior. Then again, I don't know! But when you add all the facts together, I'm a complete Droid Noob, and I'm sure everything I have posted is stuff all of you are probably already aware of.
With this information in mind, such as successfully rolling the bootloader back to D2.35, maybe there is an "older" bootloader that can be SBF'd to the phone that will allow SBF Flash restriction to be unshackled. I don't know if there is older code than D2.35 out there, as I did not spend the time looking.
PS---The "attachment"?? Just for the LULZ. And yes, it was pretty cool! And I can't wait to do this to my "bricked" Droid2!
I know how to solve, most do not know much about software to achieve
: (

Droid 2 bricked
So basically you guys are telling me im screwed until 2.3.4 SFB is released, or someone comes up with a way to load an earlier bootloader that will allow SBF'ing the earlier firmwares.
if by screwed, that there is no way to root yes, nothing yet
and there is a 2.3.4/ 4.5.621 and 622 SBF in dev section and site posted 4 posts up

SBF download
I had the exact same problem. I had to go back to the stock 2.3.4sbf. I'm now waiting for a root or a way to sbf back to 2.3.3. If you or anyone else needs to download the sbf,
sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_droid2/list (dot) php
is where i got mine. I actually put the R2D2 flash on just for fun, but i can verify that both D2 2.3.4 files work.
Which settings should i use to unbrick my A955 .... when using RSDlite 5.7 (Flex/Flash options)
don't change default settings
or don't use rsd lite
try Droid 2 621 EzSBF with root option

hey all. i just got a used razr m verizon from ebay. it came with 4.1.2 (98.30.1.xt907)
i dont want to **** this up and not be able to unlock my bootloader, can i towlroot then Motopocalypse on the firmware im on now or do i have to do something else?
RSD Lite or House of Moto to 183.46.10 (NOT .15) and you'll be set. TowelRoot would work on your version, however, Motopocalypse would not. Jump to that version I said above and they will both work. Once unlocked, you're permenantly unlocked and can do any update you'd like.

ok got unlocked the bootloader. had to use the APK. for some reason, my computer is being stupid and if i run the batch file for the unlock it just sits after starting service daemon.
one question. i rebooted my phone a couple times just to be sure and i noticed that screen saying warning your bootloader is unlocked. will i see that warning every time i boot the device? if so is there a way to get rid of it?
Yeah you'll see that every time unless you flash a new boot logo.... That post should have all the information you should need... If you need any further assistance just ask and we'll do our best to help

I just want to unlock this thing and throw a custom ROM on there, but the 183.46.10.en.US will not install. Tired a factory reset as well. Nothing works. Any ideas will help a lot. Thanks.
