Anyone who can make me a flashable zip of NK1 modem for N900L or guide me in the right direction? I flashed an old version of Modem on my Note 3 (Korean Version) and now cant get any signals. I tried a couple of Korean sites but could not understand the language. google translate is not much helping either and now I am stuck with an expensive video player only . I tried to odine flash modem file for N9005 (having the same hardware features) but always end up with a "fail" message during writing.
Any help please??

I found the latest firmware for your device. You only have to reflash via ODIN. It will help you maybe: HERE. It's always better than only a modem.

Cant I just flash NK1 modem for another variant like N9005? I am asking this because I saw a guy who had NK1 modem installed and was working fine on my network. I did ask him but he told me it was installed when he got the phone of the local market. the phone was running on a custom rom (Omega v13). I checked the Omega thread but It does not have modem file that means the modem file was separately flashed. I tried flashing N9005 Modem (NK1 has been released for that model) via odin but always end up with a write error. Is there any way around or can i flash it via recovery?

Make a factory reset -> Go to Settings > Backup & Restore and have a good read. You'll see your stock backup and restore options from Google but I highly recommend using another backup option on top of these (you can find more options in the link at the bottom of the ''Backup first'' section above). You simply tap the Factory Data Reset option and read the warning text, then hit ''Reset Device'' once you're ready. Your device will reboot and wipe itself clean. If only the dirty dishes were that easy.

I am unable to find my original FW which is:

I found some other firmwares that seemed similare to me, AP and CSC where the same but I get "Failed" in Odin.

You should be able to load TWRP, do a factory wipe and re-install the proper ROM through ODIN.
Hope this helps!

OK, please list the carrier you are using the device with and it's model number. Even if you installed the wrong ROM, you should be able to wipe the device using TWRP and install the proper ROM for your carrier and get things back up and running. Once you supply this information, I will look into everything you will require and provide you a step by step process with the hopes this will get you back up and running.

hi guys
im a bit confused on what modem i need for my Note 3 9005 LTE
its a BTU unit and im using it on the 3 network which has LTE
i get LTE signal but download speeds are rubbish, they used to be good but i started to mess around with bootloaders and modem files in odin and now cant seem to get download speeds faster than 20mb even on full bar LTE areas.
at the moment im using latest crash rom with bootloader N9005XXUGNJ2, Baseband: N9005XXUGNK1
im tempted to go back to stock rom and start fresh, will stock rom reflash back to standard modem and bootloader?
anyone know which modem i should be using?
thanks in advance!
The best for you will be come back to STOCK ROM. For avoid problems be sure the CSC of your device:
1. Take a look your CSC in Kies 3 (pic attached)
2. Go to Sammobile.com and download the correct firmware with correct CSC.
3. Flash it through ODIN.
4. Enjoy

I didnt say it is better, but it's just easier, coz u don't need PC, u dont need any cable, u dont need Kies software to be installed...

OK, all started about a month ago when i decided to buy my current Note 4 N910C. I had a Note 2 N7100 on Cricket Wireless and everything was working just fine, when i got my Note 4 it came with Uzbekistan Android 4.4.4 N910COXE1ANK5, after setting up my new phone i went ahead and rooted it , everything was perfect while i was on Kitkat ANK5 rom. Then i flashed the latest 5.0.1 Lollipop rom which is B0C5, and on the bottom of the screen a REFRESHING SIM DATA popup stated to appear, every 10 minutes, or anywhere where the phone had poor or no signal.
After almost a month searching and asking i never got a solid answer but i really appreciate all kind of people who tried to help me, it was really frustrating reading all over the internet about this annoying REFRESHING SIM DATA message. After trying to flash latest firmwares thru Odin, changing APNs, setting network mode manually, after buying a new SIM, nothing really helped , i thought i had a faulty device. Finally i asked alot of times if can even flash a KitKat Modem into Lollipop Rom, but like before never got a solid answer, that it will brick my device, that it cant be done, so i didnt want to try cuz i have no warranty on this expensive phone.
After asking again to my friend and awesome developer @not-i i got a solid answer that i can really flash KitKat modem in my Lollipop rom, here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-nj4-4-4-4-t2923953/post56398444#post56398444
The FIX
So finally i flashed the old Kitkat ANK5 Modem into my Lollipop B0C5 5.0.1 rom, and TA DAAAAAA no more annoying REFRESHING SIM DATA, my speeds went up, i got a much better signal now, i can use LTE,
CONCLUSION
There are still thousands of people of a 100s forum asking and looking for a way to fix this annoying message and i really hope this thread can help them. Cheers:fingers-crossed:

Hi guys
I have run into little problem that I'm hoping learned members here can help me with.
I have a Note 3 SM-9005 that was running Kitkat 4.4.2 and I got it updated to 5.0 from a mobile repair guy. Everything looked smooth until I got home and noticed that now the WiFi does not work anymore. It always stays greyed out and never turns on.
I have tried turning on download booster, smartswitch, nothing helps. I have wiped cache, wipe data / factory reset but that's of no help.
Can you please help me get my WiFi working again.
Many thanks.
Cheers
Boot into download to confirm that the model # is sm-n9005. Is the phone running the latest bootloader and modem?

Wondering if following screenshots are of any help figuring out what's up with the firmware update mishap?
Screenshot showing latest firmware available from Phone Info app.
Try look at this at Sam mobile:
N9005DXUGBOK3
It's the usual update firmware of lollipop.

Boot into download to confirm that the model # is sm-n9005. Is the phone running the latest bootloader and modem?

I can confirm the model is indeed SM9005 however I'm unsure about the other two things. Can you please point me to where I should be looking for that information?
Thanks

That's the UK version isn't it? Should I just grab that file and use Odin to flash right?
Would it be compatible with my phone which has a UAE version installed currently?
Ok just checked. It looks to be the Phillipines/Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand version. With some of them branded. Not sure which one I should be picking up?
The stock ROM may be slightly different for each country but you can try the latest Singapore version.

Will it trip Knox? As I would be putting a SIN firmware on a XSI (UAE) handset?
Flashing a stock rom will not trip Knox.
Personally, unless there is warranty left on the phone, I wouldn't worry about tripping the Knox counter.

Thanks for your reply.
I have also just noticed that the WiFi hotspot (tethering) doesn't work either.
I downloaded the latest XSI (UAE) firmware and installed it using Odin. But the problem still persists.
Should I try downloading and installing a Singapore firmware?
Is there a possibility that this phone is actually a carrier branded phone and was later debranded and that's why it's having this problem?
Please help life is difficult without Wifi
Does Bluetooth work? It's possible that the phone has a defective wifi chip. I have two galaxy s4 phones that have dead wifi chips but everything else works.
You can try flashinga another country's firmware but not sure if that will help.
Do you have a backup of the efs folder?

Yes the bluetooth works.
The phone's WiFi was working fine before being updated to Lollipop.
No I got it updated from a phone repair guy before I got my hands dirty and put the new firmware my self. So no efs folder backup, unfortunately.
Hmm without knowing what the repair person did to the phone or how the update was performed, it's possible something went wrong during the flash process. Does the phone show the correct imei and MAC address?

He did it in front of me and from memory I can tell that he took a firmware file and used a software (probably Odin) to flash it in download mode.
The phone does show the correct IMEI as written under the battery spot and in device info does show a WiFi mac addresd however I'm unsure how to verify if that may be the correct one.
I have browsed Google and found few other people's posts on different forums who have this exact same problem. Someone suggested that I should reflash the firmware with bootloader checked using Odin.
Do you think it may be of help?
I have just discovered that the serial number on the back of the phone under battery is different from what is reported by the device.
Does this give any hint to what may be the issue?
