Will Verizon S5 work with Sprint, I may have to switch ROM's and modems, that is the question, any way?
If not, I'm looking for S5 for Sprint.

i am currently on Sprint and have had it with their service. I live near Chicago, supposedly one of Sprint's maiden Spark cities, and their speeds have either stayed the same or have been worse than in the past. Because I just bought my phone under contract and other reasons, I am looking to jump to T-Mobile.
One thing I am considering is whether or not I should keep my current S5 or trade it into T-Mobile and get a new S5 from them. I know T-Mobile has the Download Booster feature unlocked on their handsets, but I am not sure if this is something deleted from Sprint's handsets before they sold them, or if the device is locked by the SIM or any other reason.
Has anyone else had an experience making this switch? I am curious what others have experienced.
u can not use Sprint S5 on T-Mobile anyway, time for new S5 if u made that switch.

In the past, that is true. The S5 actually uses a SIM card and can be used on a GSM carrier.
lookup Sprint S5 (CDMA) and T-Mobile S5 (GSM) then u will know what is the different.

I am fully aware the difference between Sprint's CDMA network and T-Mobile's GSM network. If you look at Sprint's S5 specs, it still has a GSM antenna. Here's my reference.
Is it possible to flash the sprint variant of the galaxy s5 to metro and if so where or how? I've read up about att and Verizon versions but all I've heard about the sprint one is that it communicates through a different frequency but Idk
Bump
Since this phone uses CDMA, I would assume that you can, but I haven't used MetroPCS service in about 5 years.
Please note that you will experience reduced functionality (no LTE/download booster/WiFi calling) while flashed to a different carrier. You would probably be better off grabbing an international version.
This may be a dumb question, but will an AT&T s5 work on VZW if rooted/unlocked?
I found an abandoned AT&T s5 with a crunched screen, and am planning on repairing it and unlocking it to use on VZW. Is it worth the trouble?
Anyone?
It won't work on cdma
joshua.justice is correct. It won't work on Verizon. Verizon still uses their CDMA network for voice calls, texts, and 3G. The AT&T variant of the S5 cannot be activated on Verizon's network because of that.

Short answer, no. Although once repaired, you could sell it off and probably get a good chunk of either a Dev S5 or a Retail one with the profit.
Could this work to activateactivate a gsm phone on CDMA?http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
I have done a bit of searching and haven't found what I am looking for.
I want to know if it is possible to run a Sprint Galaxy S5 on Verizon's Network.
Please give me a good reason if not, I have read that they use different LTE bands, is there a way to change bands? let me know. Thanks in advance...
Verizon will not accept any other phone. Only Verizon phones. Also Sprint LTE bands are not compatible with Verizon Network. So the answer is no you won't be able to use Sprint phone on Verizon network.
My family has been with sprint for decades.
We have never done a carrier switch.
Family plan.
All phones carrier unlocked.
We have 3 GS7s with sprint firmware.
Two are sprint hardware
One is U hardware
PHOENIX market.
Looking to change all 3 #s to tmobile family plan
Replacing the two sprint GS7s with GS20+
And keeping the GS7 U (sprint firmware)
But changing the GS7 U to tmobile.
Not worried at all about the new GS20s.
Concerned for what to expect of the kept GS7 U (sprint firmware).
Will tmobile flash new tmobile firmware to it?
Will tmobile turn on the proper tmobile radios?
Will the sprint specific bloatware remain and not be uninstallable?
Do I have to do the tmobile firmware/radios myself?
Thanx
