For those of you who have the phone enabled on their TAB. Try the following key sequence on the phone keyboard:

Alright so i installed better batter stats and noticed that i had about 30 minutes of kernel wakelock from fast dormancy? So i wanted to see if disabling helps.
First thing i tried was dialing *#9900# to get sysdump menu. Which did not have the fast dormancy disable like other phones? See attached pics.
Next i downloaded SQlite editor and navigated to data>data>com.android.providers.telephony
There were mmssms.db, nwk_info.db, and telephony.db.
Now from some stuff online first i checked telephony.db and after looking through over 1300 entries a few times i didn't see anything that had to do with dormancy.
Next i looked into mmssms.db and there was nothing in there.
Lastly i checked nwk_info.db which had a few things on fast dormancy. See pics
Both dormpolicy and nwkinfo had stuff related to fast dormancy. As you can see from the pics attached i tried changing some values in nwkinfo from on to off and in dormpolicy i changed one of the offtime values from 3.5 to 0 and i still seem to get dormancy kernel wake lock?
Any ideas?
There are calls in /system/csc/customer.xml
Did you try to change those?

30 minutes after how much battery time? After about 8 hours, 30 mins sounds right. Also, what firmware? DB or DL?
Latest update so DL I think. And 30 minutes after maybe 6 hours I can't remember ?
No I haven't tried editing the XML? No idea how

Root explorer. I deleated all the crap in there but you can try changing the fast dormancy lines that have 3.5 to 0

That might give you worse FD battery life. AT&T network requires FD to work right from what i understand.
Former note 1 and 2 owner to s4 and I can tell you from my experience disabling fd is absolutely a great battery saver

There is a fast dormancy app in the market that you can use to disable this process. It does say its for the i9300, not sure if it will work for the S4. I've installed it and am trying it out right now. It says that its disable the fast dormancy process by adding two lines of code to the nwk_info.db line.
Ya I'm gonna try the app

Please update if the app works on our phones, once you are done testing.
Downloaded the app and disabled FD then rebooted and started better batt stats from scratch and its still showing FD wake lock. Not much but its still appearing there ...

Look in the thread about the service menu. There is a native menu option to disable fast dormancy in the service menu. I used quick shortcut maker from market to open sec_ril_dump. And just toggled the fast dormancy button.

Can you please connect the dots a bit for me? I can't figure out how to get this menu option up that you've apparently found. I tried all of these and can't find it:
Sysdump menu *#9900#
Service menu *#0*#
*#1234# to check software version of phone.
*#12580*369# to check software and hardware information.
*#0228# Battery status (ADC, RSSI reading)
*#0011# Service Menu
I don't think he is talking about the 9900 menu there is a thread on another menu when dialing *#9090#

Yes, you should be able to make the changes in CSC then do a Clear Data for CSC in apps.
the reason the i9300 needed the fast dormancy app was because it was an international phone, and some carriers did/didn't implement it on the network side, but Samsung put it there for those who did. it made data mess up on some networks (att was one) who didn't take use it. now the i337 is an att phone, so I would assume the fast dormancy is as it should be, but thats only the logical conclusion, clearly, things like logic don't seem to mean anything to att..

Download the shortcut app I mentioned. At the top search "ril" click on the the file sec_ril_dump and hit try. And the menu will pop up.

it will most likely be a while before we find this menu, maybe samsung learned their lesson after people unlocked their devices and the carriers got upset. so either it will be from a leak or someone is able to find it from some obscure way.

I have installed the HP print plugin, and am able to find mu network printer in Settings>Printing. However, none of the apps or pull-down menus have any print options. What is the next step?
There is an option in dialler settings menu to enable 'virtual hd call'. What is this, does it work when calling to non Huawei phones and does it use internet or something else what I could be charged with.

It just reduces the noise so you can hear other person's voice clearly. I don't know how it works maybe this option activates active noise cancellation or maybe it's network related.
