[Q] g900M does nor work properly in Europe - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I have a galaxy S5 SM-G900M from brazil. Now i live in Spain and the network doesnt work, i suppose because of the frequency bands. For example i cannot get LTE, it only works in 2G and 3G ( sometimes HSPA) but it is unstable, the smartphone is constantly changing between 2G and 3 G every few seconds and sometimes looses all the networks.
Is is posible to configure the phone as if it was the european model (G900F) ? In other words, can i change the firmware or something similar so that it works with the european bands?
Please i need help, i've talke to the samsung technical service a thousand times, But they refuse to help me or have no answers.
Thanks a lot

You can't flash a g900f firmware or you are risking a bricked phone.
It seems that in Brazil have different LTE banda, so you Will never get connectivity in LTE, unless they, Brazil and/por the European Union decides to change the frequency spectrum...
Anyway, the g900m and f variants aren't firmware cross compatible, sorry.

[Q] European S4 in Canada

Hi,
I would like to buy a Galaxy S4 before going to Canada. I'm currently in Morocco and I would like to know if there will be no issue with the gsm frequency.
Morocco uses the same gsm frequencies as Europe, and from what I understood North America is different.
From what I could find in the internet, canadian carriers use mostly 850/1700/1900/2100.
I will buy a new phone and from what I read there is like a region lock once you insert the first sim card.
Will the phone work in Canada? Which model of the Galaxy S4 should I buy?
Thank you for your help

Problems with SM-N910K

Ok, so i ordered a SM-N910U from 28mobile.com, and they sent me a carrier branded SM-n910K, which by its specifications should work with Brazilian LTE (band 7 - 2600). However I am stuck on 3g. I was wondering if maybe the whole internet is wrong and this device doesnt support this band, or maybe its some sort of carrier lock. Also, how do i disable the awful branding, will flash a different firmware work and which do i flash?
Thanks

SM-N9005 LTE compatibility in China?

Hi Guys,
I will travel to Shanghai in 2 weeks. I was wanting to know if there was anyway to be able to use LTE in China by using a local Chinese sim card? I think I read that their LTE bands might not be compatible with the SM-N9005. Is there any way around this? Or will I need to settle for 3G connection? I think I read that China Unicom might have a compatible 3G band with the phone.
Thanks for any help you can provide me.

I have bought samsung galaxy s8 origional with official warranty. But the problem is Telenor 4g is not working on it every time it fluctuates to 4g,3g,2g. In our country pakistan it works on 850 mhz band. I have also changed the locations but in vain. How can i resolve this ?

s7edge changin network band

Hi. Since I got s7edge ,i have been having some really bad network signal. I barely can got 4g with 1 bar, even though i have here good coverage for 4g .however,i have 3g and 2g full signal. With other phones i have had (p10,s7flat,htc one m9) i got full bars LTE+ signal. What could be the problem? I assume network band. I tried changing it on *#0011# but i cannot enter band options. I got sac23 v8 port.
"sac23 v8 port"
That's your problem. Get the original software if you want stability and reliability.
PS: You didn't say what hardware version of the phone you have and what cell network you are on. There are too many combinations for us to guess.
@SoNic67 Hm. Sorry, didn't think you would need hardware version.. i had same problems with official stock firmware and rom, thats the main reason i rooted my phone. So ,my hardware version is MP 0.801 and I'm on Serbian network, company name is MTS. We have some solid 4g coverage here..
Based on this, MTS has LTE Band 3 and Band 20.
Note that what is called 4G in Europe is technically LTE. So it means the same thing.
Looking at cellmapper.net, in Serbia, outside Belgrade, I see on MTS a lot of cells only with B20.
I don't know about Serbia, but in Romania I know that band 20 is a shared band (10MHz) by all the providers, in rural areas, so the connection to it is very unstable (I am not sure who has priority in case of congestion). I often saw there only 3G signal when B20 was overwhelmed. The actual speed test in those places was identical on 4G/LTE and 3G (H+) - the back-haul connection was limited.
Also, I am not familiar with your hardware version. Some versions have differences in supported LTE bands.
So... I would investigate that - what bands are actually implemented in your modem. Flashing different firmware won't change that, it's in a different memory.
I would start looking at this, at least to read the NV #06828 value (phone doesn't even need to be rooted):

Try *#2263# to change bands manually.

its not working
Take the SIM out first, reboot and then do the *#2263# without SIM inside.
However, note that when changing the SIM, the CSC file is re-flashed the modem with the appropriate bands and different restrictions (including locking service modes).
On my S7Edge, only with an AT&T SIM I can see the *#2263#. With Verizon SIM it doesn't work.

Mines Canadian g930w8, maybe it's in the CSC or modem as ours is different. Maybe not the ROM as I am on _alexndr's devbase.
