[Guide Link] How to play Hearthstone on your Nexus 6 (modified APK) - Nexus 6 General

Head over here and download the modified APK - put this in a convenient place to run on your device:
http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone...to_hearthstone_for_your_phone_no_root/cmwvvk1
It's been modified using this method:
http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2phc0e/guide_how_to_hearthstone_for_your_phone_no_root/
Download the 738705 obb files which are also available from the reddit thread I first linked. You will need to create a folder called com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone in the android/obb folder. Place the two obb files in the newly created com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone folder.
Run the APK from your device and it will install and unpack Hearthstone files...and then you can play with no restrictions!
All credit to the people on the Hearthstone reddit who modded the files, wrote the guides, etc.
The game is running smoothly for me!

For whatever reason the game crashes the instant I launch it. It kicks over to landscape for a split second then comes back to portrait with a force close.

Did you put both obb files in the right place and are using the 705 version (not the 702)?
Did it install correctly and the crash is only when you launch it?
Maybe try redownloading the files in case something is corrupt?

I think it was the custom kernel I was running actually. Switched back to stock and it works.

Confirmed! Working for me as well.

Imo's 1.1

http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2pj2q6/much_simpler_way_to_install_hs_on_your_android/ is a better link.
Using Lean Kernel and it works. I had to manually put the modded apk in /data/app/ into its own folder and named the apk base.apk.

I tried this version:

Several hour download time unfortunately.

You're right moopile.
But I bought the 2-day-account
For me it was worth it.
But i know that it is a lot of money for a free game...

Theres no need to get it from upload... use the link from mega. its super fast

i don't have nexus 6 but i wish it was 6 and higher not higher than 6 ! but anyway downloading it for my nexus 4 i can't wait.... thanks for the awesome guide

It works like a charm on my N5

I get
"Closed Sorry, Hearthsone currently only runs on Android tablet 6" or larger" message
I used all the provided files from MEGA...
Does this still work ?

I wish this would work on my nexus 6! c'mon, 5.92 is close enough to 6"!

I installed it from the play store, and then used those OBB files instead, using the modded apk with no problems now. Card text is even legible, it's perfect for this phone!

NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile for Mogul Working

Hello All,
I found this on another board for my friend who is a BIG NASCAR fan and got it to work on her Mogul by following the included instructions. I have tested and it is working. The final test will be during this weekends race. Keep in mind that it's a Java App and you will need Java installed. The stylis isn't used, you have to use the arrow keys to control.
Enjoy, I will try to support it any way I can, but no promises.
http://rapidshare.com/files/116171004/NASCAR_Sprint_Cup_Mobile.zip
i dont have a windows folder on my mogul?
never mind, I found it...it was hidden
confirmed, this is working on my mogul also!!!! awesome I have been waiting for this!
Can someone make a cab file for this application

I don't think this is possible because of the procedure to get it working. A cab file cannot determine what the file name of the file created is, (At least as far as I know).
i must have done something wrong. I followed the instructions correctly I thought.
Using the second set of files that Brett posted I was able to get it to work and I'm not even a sprint customer. Here is what I did:
1. Copied the following files from Brett's zip file into the \Windows\Appdb\ directory. s40__d0.db,s40__d1.db,s40__d2.db,s40_suite.jar,s40 _suite.utf.
Click to collapse
I had no appdb directory, so I created one, then copied all 5 files into it. I didnt however copy the bin directory over, since it didnt mention that....
I also tried copying with the folder and running things from inside the folder....
Excluding the above files make a note of the highest set of numbered files that starts with an s.
Click to collapse
I had no files in there.....
2. Using my phones file explorer I browsed to \windows\appdb and opened s40_suite.jar.
3. I went through the normal install steps and received the same error that everyone did.
4. Closed java.
Click to collapse
that worked fine, java ran, but it never got to an error. Just a white screen with exit and pause on the soft keys.
5. On your phone browse to the \windows\appdb\ folder.
6. There should be 2 new .jar and .utf files that that start with 's' and are one number higher then the number you made a note of earlier.
Click to collapse
there were a bunch of s0 fies
7. On you PC rename all 5 files by replacing the 40 in each file's name with the number of the new file that was created.
Click to collapse
went back to the original files from the zip file and renamed them all to s0
8. Copy all 5 files to \windows\appdb
Click to collapse
copied everything back over and overwrote whatever files it asked to
9. Open java and launch app.
Click to collapse
Went back to Resco and ran the s0 jar file that I had just copied back over.
No good. I get a 955 error

Default Live Wallpapers?

Does anybody know where to get the default set of live wallpapers for CM5.0.7? I know you can get ripoffs in the market, but I really think the default ones are the cleanest.
Thanks for any help!
You can probably extract them from CM's Nexus One build over in the Nexus One developer forum.....
I extracted the apk from the N1 rom and it installed fine. FYI the water one doesn't work with our phones (G1), and the galaxy one doesn't seem to load. The polar clock and the grass work though.
Was really hoping to have the water one working, my mom showed it to me on her Droid last week, dope as hell.
Can you post the apk you got? Or at least point me in the direction so I can learn how to extract it myself? Thanks!
Basically all you need to extract something from a ROM is the ROM itself (as a zip file), and then a program that will let you "open" the zip without unzipping it. Personally, I use 7-zip and it has never failed me. All you need to do is right click on the ROM file and choose open under the 7zip menu.
This of course is assuming you have Windows as your OS on your PC. After you open the ROM you can browse to the /system/app folder and you have access to all the N1 apk files there. Presumably, all you need to do is copy the live wallpapers apk from that ROM to your G1 and install it. I haven't verified that this works, but it would be the way to do it.
Good luck
~DM
Excellent!
For all that are interested, I have attached the apk. Hope this is allowed.
Oh, and all the LWPs are REALLY slow....
I downloaded the simple Pong LWP from the market and it runs awesome. Its nothing spectacular but it gives me a running LWP that doesn't bog down the system.

[HOW-TO] [Flash] [HULU] How to make Hulu (and others) work on the Samsung Galaxy Tab

The Galaxy Tab uses a custom build of Flash. If you try to install one of the hacked Nexus One Flash apks that are floating around, it won't work. Not only will you not be able to access Hulu, but Flash won't work at all. You also can't use the Android Market version.
Here's how to hack the Galaxy Tab to make Flash work with Hulu and other sites that block Android. These instructions are intended for more advanced users. Maybe someone nice will come along and post a pre-hacked apk, but I'm not going to post one myself. Sorry
1. Make sure your Galaxy Tab is rooted. If it isn't, you can easily root it by downloading z4root from the Android Market and running it.
2. Make sure you have Root Explorer installed. You can buy it for a few bucks in the Market if you don't already have it. It's a great program and worth the few dollars.
3. First, you need to get rid of the pre-installed version of Flash that comes with the Tab. Using Root Explorer, move install_adobe_flash.apk from /system/app/ to /sdcard/. You want to make sure it no longer exists in /system/app/ but that you have a backup copy in /sdcard/.
If you are like me and already deleted the original install_adobe_flash.apk from the Tab without backing it up, you will have to grab a new copy from a Galaxy Tab ROM. Find a Galaxy Tab ROM online (P1000XXJK5 works), uncompress it, mount factoryfs.rfs as an ISO, and get a new copy of the apk file out of it.
4. Next, you need to hex edit this version of Flash to make it appear as though it was Flash for Windows.
Now that you have install_adobe_flash.apk in the /sdcard folder, plug in the tab and enable USB file sharing.
Copy the apk file to your computer and unzip it. Inside, you will find /lib/armeabi-v7a/libflashplayer.so.
Open libflashplayer.so file in your favorite hex editor (Hex Fiend is good on OSX). Search for the ascii string "AND 10,1,92,8" (the numbers might be slightly different depending on your Tab's ROM). Replace that string with "WIN 10,1,102,64". Make sure the hex editor is in overwrite mode when you do this. The new string is longer than the old string, but you don't want to change the file size. Save the file.
5. Now you need to get your hacked version of Flash back onto the Tab.
You have a few options. You could install the flash apk using "adb install install_adobe_flash.apk". That would get you flash back. Then you could copy your hex edited libflashplayer.so to the /sdcard folder and then use Root Explorer to replace /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so with your version. That will work fine, but you will have to recopy your modified libflashplayer.so over the original one every time you reboot.
The better option would be to rebuild install_adobe_flash.apk with your hacked library included. Then you can install your modified flash apk.
6. Browser Settings
Dolphin HD is the best choice. You need to make sure the user agent is set to "Desktop". It seems like you also need Flash set to "Always On", not "On Demand". It seems to act flakey with On Demand but your experience might vary.
You can alternatively use the Hulu Bookmark app in the app store instead of Dolphin HD.
Playback can be a bit choppy on Hulu in full resolution. Play around with other sites besides Hulu too. Other sites like cbs.com and adultswim.com worked for me.
Have fun!
Thx great work, any instructions on how to rebuild the apk ?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Nice, thanks for the writeup. Flash is still far too flaky on mobile for my taste though. Its a complete mess IMO.
Would you be able to post the apk you used? I would gladly host it.
Rebuilt .APK is not installing
Followed the directions but I am not sure if I rebuilt the .apk properly as my modified Flash Player package fails to install. Can someone please post a working modified .apk?
I was following great until
... rebuild install_adobe_flash.apk with your hacked library included ...
How is that done?
Sign APKs
here is a tutorial on creating a key and how to sign an apk. hope this helps.
http://www.androiddevelopment.org/tag/apk/
I tired following your instructions to the letter then returning the edited hex file into the apk replacing the existing one, but no go. Is there a particular way it needs to be recompiled? If anyone knows how and can provide the edited apk for an ATT galaxy tab I would happily donate and I'm sure I'm not alone.
no dice
hulu and other sites gives me an error "requires flash player 10.0.32 or higher..."
as far as hexing, signing, and installing everything works a charm.

Success! Thanks to the OP for the write-up. I took the stock AT&T flash player apk, hex edited the version in libflashplayer.so and replaced it on the phone. It works fine in Dolphin HD (plugins set to Always; haven't tried On-demand) for Hulu.
I tried my hand at repacking the apk and signing it, but it doesn't seem to register the plugin using my apk, even though it's properly signed. So for now, the only approach that seems reliable is to install the stock apk and once installed, copy the modified libflashplayer.so over to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib.
See attached. I provide no guaranties, so YMMV. Unzip libflashplayer.so.zip prior to copying.
EDIT: Works great on southparkstudios.com too!
Would this work with the netflix web site?

Browsing their website works fine, but you can't stream directly to the browser. That requires Silverlight, which I don't believe is available for the Android platform.

The Sims is a problem because it is two APKs. One is the launcher and does nothing without the actual game. The game is too HUGE to post, and might be considered warez, even though it has been confirmed it will only run on a true T959. So if you want that one the best solution at the moment it to get it from the market since EA recently released it.

Have you confirmed that the apk is in fact in /system/app and that it was not a failed copy?
I have noticed that when using DroidExplorer to do pushes, if the permissions are not correct it acts the same as if it copied ok. I usually end up having to verify using a on phone file manager like Astro or Root Explorer that the file is actually there.
after rebooting again i checked astro and it is in the system/app folder. i did notice that the rest of the files in system apps have the size, date, and something that says -r- (dont really know too much about astro so i have no idea what that means). but i did notice that the memo apk has the size, date, and instead of -r- is has -rw. anyone know what that means?

FIXED CAMERA ISSUE on Cyanogenmod 10!!!! Now can save photos/videos to External SD!

Hi guys!
I've finally fixed this annoying problem on my Galaxy SII I9100 simply replacing the gallery2.apk file in \system\app with the gallery2.apk file mounted in the latest Revolt JB ROM 3.2 or latest JellyBam Rom (both have a camera option for saving to external sd card).
I've attached to this message the file you have to copy in \system\app.
Obviously, you need root permissions and a file explorer (I'm using use File Explorer)
I suggest you to make a backup copy of the original gallery2.apk file before overwriting it with this version.
Enjoy your new 4.2.1 Cyanogenmod Camera!!! :highfive::good:

I don't know how to thank you! I was going nuts because of this goddamns issue. I have a 32GB SD card, and the internal is stuffed with all the apps. This weekend I got screwed with a time lapse of two hours that got busted when I stopped recording due to not enough space (nice that it only tells you after you finish). Anyway, I'm downloading it, and will install in a minute. Thanks a million!
EDIT: This does work in CM10.1 as well. If you unzipped the file in a non-ext based filesystem (fat32, ntfs), you may want to check the file permissions once copied into /system/app. After a reboot both the camera and the gallery went missing. With root explorer I checked the permissions of the file. Yup. The owner was lacking read and write permissions. After fixing this (and a reboot), everything works fine!
Again, thank you so much, ivanceci!
Hi after some days usign the phone as normal, I noticed a slow framerate while recording 720p/1080p videos with this camera...Did you notice this as well?
Hi ivanceci, could you provide information on how did you modify the official gallery2.apk in order to add the external storage option? I understand it's not a very complex option, and it could give me a huge improvement if I could just download the source from CM from the latest versions and do it myself!
As of now, I found out this camera works great for most of the stuff (and can do timelapses finally without any trouble!), BUT it has a rather slow framerate when handling 720p video. It works fine with 480p, but 720p works around 15~20fps. So I would like to take the modification and implement it in a more recent camera apk. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for that! I updated the gallery2.apk with a recent nightly, and yeah, a few more options (like, saving to USB) are available. Sadly, the video performance still doesn't match what would call "acceptable". I think it may be a bit faster than before, but still under 25-30fps.
Anyway, I'm uploading here the apk, as I think it performs a bit better than the older version OP posted.

know how you can transform an APK in the zip to install CMW
Nice, hope this gets merged to CM soon.
Wondering 'bout the slower framerate when shooting vids, maybe it is because your video now gets saved in your external sd instead of your internal flash memory (which is faster than external sd..). DSLR cameras which shoot hi-res vids clearly state to try to use the fastest memory cards possible (class 6 or above)
My 2 cents

Yeah, but the video data rate isn't so high for phones, AFAIK. Plus, that's something I could do with no problem on the stock ROM, it isn't a feature I just found out

Hm...Nope, I never made a .cwm install zip. But seriously, using the root explorer you should be able to do it easily.
Load Root Explorer, go to the new downloaded apk, copy it.
Go to /system/app
Mount as R/W
Rename original gallery2.apk -> gallery2.apk.old
Paste the file.
Long press on the file, properties.
Make sure the owner has ticked the permissions for read and for write.
Mount as R/O.
You're done. Reboot.

Hello! The zip has an error. Do you mind reposting it? I would love for this to work!

Hi Tronith, I just downloaded the file with no problem. I could unzip the .apk also perfectly. Could you show what error do you get? I zipped this file using 7zip.

I installed the .apk file but I don't seem to find any option to change the saving location of the camera app. I've turned both the camera app and the galery app upside down but I didn't find anything.
Also, both apps look 100 % the same as the normal Cyanogenmod camera and galery. Is this normal?

Hi clercger,
you should have the options available in the camera menu:
I checked according to your screenshots but the option at the top of the settings was just not there in my camera app. I then decided to redo the whole procedure you posted on the first page, using the .apk that you uploaded (first time I used OP's). I also ticked all the permission boxes in the .apk's properties using File Explorer and now it works.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
it works on other device with cm10 as galaxy wonder?
Beautiful!!!
This method worked like a charm. I prefer the UI of this modified gallery/camera app. It has a considerably cleaner look to it
Nice find  but, (ain't there always a but) when shooting video it looks warped. It plays back alright, just looks odd when filming.
