[Q] Debrand Note 4 by flashing stock - what about radio? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have a Three UK branded Note 4 and I'm currently using it on Vodafone. I'm looking at flashing the stock firmware for the UK to debrand the device. Does this process change the radios at all?
The reason I ask is because sometimes I'm seeing loss of mobile data that I can only resolve by toggling flight mode. I'm wondering by flashing stock or indeed Vodafone firmware would help this situation.
Thanks

If it's a newer firmware than the one currently on your device, then it will more than likely contain a newer modem firmware too.

Post back how you get on.
I have a Three Note (although also using Three network) was thinking of rooting/flashing to get rid of some Samsung bloat.

flashed my vodafone handset to BTU stock no problems and yes it does debrand the handset in the process. As for radio's just let it update if needs be better to have the correct radio for the rom version.

Did you find any benefits over the Vodafone branded version? Improved battery life for example?

[Q] Can I use Vodafone Note 3 Lollipop ROM on EE Note 3?

I see that there is a Vodafone Lollipop ROM available for download at sammobile (sorry can't post a link as I'm a noob) yet the EE one is still lagging behind. Can I still use the Vodafone ROM and unlock my phone to continue using my EE sim? Or are there other differences that may brick my device?
Providing you unlock it first.

[Q] Installing Stock uk on USA phone

I moved from the usa to the uk, I have a t-mobile sgs4 and having some signal issues, my friend who has the same phone is not having the same issues.
Basically want to install Three UK firmware onto a t-mobile usa phone.....
Is this possible, as i keep getting errors using odin
have stock t-mobile rom just now and wanting stock three uk rom on it
Not possible. Kies and Odin both compare the ROM to the device. If everything is ok, then the ROM will install, but otherwise you'll receive a failure notification. Your best option is to go with a custom ROM, as you're limited solely to T-Mobile stock ROMs and can't use anything else.

Installing Different Carrier Firmware SM-A300FU??

Hi, I've currently got a SM-A300FU UK on EE and it's running the latest update of 5.0.2 (the one that released today, 10th October 2016) and I was wondering if I would be able to install the 6.0.1 firmware for unbranded UK phones or the O2 version without bricking my phone. Would it be easier to wait a few months and not risk bricking my phone or should I just use the O2 or unbranded firmware?
Thanks, Jay
Installing unbranded means you'd leave the Carrier roms.
Unbranded have no problems switching between regions, but carrier COULD have some due to differences
The only way for the roms to have no problems flashing, is to have the exact partition sizes. Although i did not have problems switching from Vodafone to TMo roms i.e

Z5 E6683 VoWiFI/Flashing Questions

Hi all,
I'm trying to get my wife's E6683 phone to work with WiFi calling on EE in the UK. The phone was bought third-party and has generic (non-EE) firmware on it.
I *think* i need to download and flash the EE firmware onto the phone for this to work, since there are no options for WiFi calling present on the current (vanilla) firmware.
So I have the following questions:
1. Do I need to flash EE firmware onto it, or is there another way?
2. Can I flash the EE firmware onto it *without* wiping the phone?
3. The only UK EE firmware available is for the single-sim E6653 variant. Various posts suggest this is ok to flash single-sim firmware onto the Dual SIM equivalent, but can anyone confirm? (I don't care if the Dual SIM aspect of the phone stops working)
4. Is it a risky process? I'm semi-familiar with ADB and I've flashed phones before, but I'm no expert. I found a guide on hardreset.info, but are there any better or more specific ones?
Many thanks for any help!

Help finding stock ATT TA6 firmware

Hello all,
Newbie here.
I have a galaxy 8+ that I got a few years ago that had US Cellular.
I flashed it to an unlocked bloatfree U1 firmware.
I've been using MVNOs all that time, but now I have ATT service (they have great deals in the US right now) and I want to use att with all the bloat (wifi calling, hd voice, etc).
I'm on G955U1 and need to find stock ATT SM-G955U firmware that will support bootloader 7 (baseband is G955U1UES7DTC1).
Tried Sammobile but it appears as if the firmware they have is for Android 7 supporting bootloader 1.
Not quite sure how to use updato. From what I can see, there are no bootloader 7 firmware packages and the one att package is U1.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Wondering if it would be make sense flash to US Cellular using the sammoble firmware.
Problem is it doesn't get me to ATT.
