Hi guys,
I have been reading the xda forums for quite some time, a year or two maybe, but this is the first time I have acutally signed up, and created a thread.
I just recently bought a Galaxy S4 VE (I9515), and rooted the device yesterday (CF 9505). That all worked very well. After that, I used the CWM App to install Clockworkmod 6.0.4.7 Non-Touch (again, for the I9505), and that worked too. I created a full backup in CWM, and then formated "/system" under "mount", to then proceed and install Cyanogenmod 12. Once that was installed, I noticed that the ROM was for 9505, and that the 9515 (my device) seems to have problems understanding my touch input, hence the touchscreen wasn't working.
So I flashed it using Odin. Here is where the problem starts:
1. Quality USB cable used.
2. Went into download mode, and plugged it in
3. Device conntected and detected by my Windows 8 PC
4. Used Sammobile to get Stock Firmware for the 9515.
5. Flashed it using Odin under AP/PDA.
6. Once done, the phone first boots and shows "Recovery booting" on the galaxy s4 screen. It then shows the green android symbol, and after RUSHING through that (there is a bar, and I'm sure mine is filling up way to quickly), it reboots, the "recovery booting" font is gone, it shows the samsung logo and is stuck on that.
Any suggestions for that? I just bought it recently as my I9305 had a dead eMMC...

I got my 16GB grouper in November. During unlocking and rooting, I have tried TWRP from my PC(Win7HB, WinXP) but it hangs at Google logo. Tools used were android sdk and downloaded drivers from it. I was recently using Modaco Jr12, M-kernel a23 and CWM touch when I went to meet my friend and tried TWRP from his laptop(Win7Ultimate). Voila! It got into recovery mode straight. Tools now used were platform-tools-v16.zip downloaded from this forum, and drivers downloaded from Asus. But alas! during playing with my device I installed stock ROM, and custom recovery was gone. At home I tried the same tools on my PC that I had used on my friend's laptop to install TWRP but to no avail. I noticed one thing that during TWRP install from my friend's laptop a folder named TWRP was installed in my /sdcard. This doesn't happen at home and manually restoring the folder from my copied files/folders on my PC to my Nexus 7 has no effect. I cannot get into recovery either from bootloader or from ROM. What's actually happening? Another information to mention is that adb commands only work in recovery mode but not when booted into ROM.
Any help?
Anyone there who has faced similar problem with TWRP?

leads me to bootloader. selecting "recovery mode" causes a hung up screen with Google logo & open lock icon(as if no recovery is installed, except that "booting failed" message at top left corner isn't displayed). Power+vol- leads me to bootloader again. This only happens with TWRP, not with CWM.

Friends, sorry for bothering you as well as myself being bothered. It seems my Internet Download Manager somehow did not like the official TWRP link and downloaded a file with different md5 each time, just not the correct one. I downloaded the TWRP file from Chrome itself and, Voila!! problem solved and a lesson learnt---- ALWAYS DO A CHECKSUM CHECK
Hi all,
I have a UK N910F 32GB Snapdragon Note 4, with a custom Lollipop rom that I've been using with no problems for a few months (http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-bob4-devbase-multi-csc-safe-bloat-t3033881). Yesterday the weirdness began - my Note 4 froze randomly in normal use and rebooted. It was then fine for around 5 hours, then froze again, and when it restarted it would continue to freeze on start-up. At that stage I could still boot into recovery (Clockwork Manager custom recovery), so I tried clearing cache and dalvik, which changed nothing. But now I am unable to do even that - it just gets stuck in bootloop and won't even go into recovery.
When I turn it on, it will stay on the Samsung splashscreen for 10 seconds, then reboot and vibrate twice, then go back onto splashscreen, reboots, etc. I need to remove the battery to stop this. The only thing I am able to do is boot into download mode, where the phone works with Odin fine, and I am able to flash successfully with Odin.
So far I have tried reflashing a stock UK 5.0.1 ROM - it initially gave me the ext4 error but I then got the N910F pit file and repartitioned - Odin flashing completed fine, then still got stuck on splashscreen with "Recovery booting...."). I have also tried to flash CWM and TWRP, which both flash fine, but then the phone still won't boot into recovery - I get:
#1 Battery in
#2 power on
#3 vibrate
#4 screen on RECOVERY BOOTING
Recovery is NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
and doesn't boot into recovery. I'm pretty sure I'm using the correct TWRP and CWM versions.
I've spent all day trawling XDA and the wider web with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'm hoping it is a softbrick but cannot work out how to get it back. I don't care about losing any data at this stage, just keen to bring my Note 4 back to life!
TL;DR: phone will stay on bootloop when powered on - not caused by failed software install, just started happening randomly. Cannot boot into recovery. Download mode works and can flash with Odin, but all attempted flashes so far haven't helped even when Odin succeeds in flashing.

Have you tried flashing your variants cf-root file with auto reboot unchecked, let it Pass, remove USB abd battery, wait 30 seconds and reboot? Sounds weird.. i know, but for a while that put many users on 5.0.1 softbricks back to their previous working ROM.
I've just done that, it flashed successfully, I took battery and cable out and then rebooted after 30 seconds - it is now booting onto Samsung bootscreen, says:
RECOVERY BOOTING
Recovery is NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
Then reboots itself, same thing happens, reboots itself - back to a bootloop, but with the above written.
What's the fix for the above? Does it mean the recovery installed is wrong for the Android Rom version I have?
Thanks for your help so far, much appreciated.

If you can still boot into the download mode and want to boot into the system as normal, using Samsung's Smart Switch tool will work. Search Google for "Samsung Smart Switch" no quotes, install the program then after finished installing, in the application, click MORE at the Smart Switch window, then click Emergency software recovery and initialization, then follow on-screen steps.

Just tried that, same issue. When it boots after installation, it says "Recovery booting..." in top left corner, then goes into bootloop. Thanks for the tip though.
Any other ideas out on the grapevine? Or is it time for a return?
I'm having the same issue. Tried stock ANK4, BOB4 and BOC3. Only bootloops and can't reach recovery mode.
Than I tried TWRP 2.8.7.0 and "philz_touch_6.59.0-trlte" but they don't work either.
Don't know what to do now. Never had this issue before on any Samsung device
EDIT: Tried Samsung Smart Switch and it dowloaded PDA: OC3 / CSC: OB6 / PHONE: OC3 (DTM). But my Note bootloops furthermore
Saw 2 other guys with the same Problem and no solution here.
And I found this. This could be the same issue we are facing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
Hope there is a dev that can make this for our 910F
Hi all
This is now also happening to me...

Again uk note 4. 910f
Hi There,
I have just tried to flash my Samsung Galaxy Express GT-I8730 when something went wrong during the process. Now the phone cannot even boot, just the boot screen appears containing the brand logo and freezes. If I try to start it in recovery mode "recovery booting..." text is appears above the brand logo and nothing happens.
How I came here?
1. Firstly I would like to flash my phone with Ubuntu Touch using Flashify app downloaded from Play Store. After the app said the flashing was successful (?) I restart my phone which never boot it again.
2. In this point, both of Android Recovery g3 and Odin mode was available. I tried restore my phone from Android Recovery using my backup, but the recovery stopped with Invalid signature error. (Same error is appeared when I select CyanogenMod 11.0 ROM from recovery.)
3. Using Odin 3.10.7 I tried install CWM Recovery 6.0.4.6. Odin said the flashing was successfully but then, when I tried to boot into recovery mode, only "recovery booting..." text is appears above the brand logo.
Now only the Odin mode can be started.
Can anybody help me to galvanize life into my lovely phone?
Thanks,
zokni

hello, i think i just bricked my note 3. i accidentally boot the phone into the recovery mode on my sm-n9005 singapore lte version.
i downloaded this application called Quick Boot (Reboot) by GHCV on google play store. upon opening up the application and selecting the "Recovery" mode, it rebooted my phone into the recovery mode but there is a problem. it keep on saying: "Recovery is not SEandroid enforcing set warranty bit: recovery" and it constantly stuck in the recovery boot loop ever since then till now. my note 3 sm-9005 5.0 version is rooted by kingo root. i tried to install TWRP into my note 3 but failed, on the odin 10.7 it showed that it is successful but on my phone it doesn't even go into TWRP recovery mode. i tried these steps but all failed: pull out battery then press volume down, power button and home button for awhile then put in battery; boot it into download mode then press volume down to restart but still it brings me to recovery boot loop. i cannot even go and hardware reset my phone anymore. please help me i need my this phone urgently as this is my every day phone. i didnt flash CWM too as i ran out of time. please reply me as soon as possible to my email [email protected] thanks. urgently needed help.

Home-Volume Down-Power = Download Mode
Home-Volume Up - Power = Recovery Mode
You'll need to flash the Bootloader and Recovery. It may start up at this point. If not, then flash the Singapore ROM. You can extract the bootloader and recovery and then make them a .tar .md5 file for Odin. Read about it HERE. I've used it to recover my Canadian SM-N900W8 Note 3. All it would do was vibrate and boot loop. Now I'm 100% back up and running in Lollipop. Only use files for your version of the Note 3.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/
Singapore has 4 cell providers to choose from.
Or
you can try using Samsung Kies . Tools > Emergency Firmware Recovery. You'll need the serial # under your battery.
Or you just flash this one https://idlekernel.com/twrp/3.0.0-0/twrp-3.0.0-0-hlte.tar.md5 by Odin on the AP slot. If you really have a SM-N9005 like me (No other strange SM-N900* one!) this will work and fix your loop by updating the bricked recovery to the most recent TWRP one. Here is more information I'd recommend to at least read a bit of to at least understand a bit what you are installing by that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467001
ODIN 3.09 for ya: http://androidhost.org/PVAIv (using old crap 1.85 is NOT NEEDED)
[ORIGINAL POST] - solution further down - (TLDR do not reboot into system after flashing recovery)
Hi,
I'm trying to install TWRP but when i've flashed PDA via ODIN and reboot into recovery, this is what i get. [see images] https://imgur.com/a/zfdvs
TWRP file from TWRP website: 'twrp-3.2.1-0-dream2lte.img.tar' for Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Exynos) (dream2lte)
As this did not work i tried to flash new BL and CP and then i retried to install TWRP, no luck.
Can you please help me! Thanks!
I also tried flashing TWRP (another version just to be safe) via heimdall, but that didnt work either. The enitire prosess is fine, but when i reboot into recovery i still get to the same page. [see images above]
[SOLUTION]
*Do not* boot into system after flashing recovery (TWRP), instead, make sure to boot directly into recovery.
Apparently Samsung Reinstalls recovery when you boot into system after flashing TWRP (or any other recovery for that matter). I do not know if it's like this for all Samsung devices or only the S8, but that's the way it is.

I had the same problem and found instructions to press volume down + bixby + power and then start the Odin load. The load went fine but my phone locked up at the Samsung Logo screen. I tried getting back to the download mode but the screen went black. Now the phone will not power on at all. Exceedingly frustrating.
I've spent 2 hours trying to work out what did I do wrong (checking hashes, odin version, etc) and the simple solution was to boot into recovery right away after flashing via Odin. Thanks!

I've followed different procedures but basically use ODIN to push TWRP to my SP-580. After that, the tablet reboots. I disconnect the cable and power the tablet down. I then hold VOLUME DOWN and VOLUME UP and connect the cable again. But instead of going into recovery mode, it just shows me the percent charged dial. I can get no further than that and have done that at least 15 times. HELP???? Thank you!!
