Replacing Caller ID screen - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are there any apps that replace it that feature the dial pad? So far, any I've found or searched for are great and loaded with featuresinus the dial pad.
Is it that difficult to incorporate the dial pad into any of these apps?

Not what I'm looking for. Maybe you misunderstood (or maybe I explained it incorrectly).
I already have a dialer app that I wish to use. What I'm looking for is an app that replaces the in-call screen, which comes up AFTER dialing a number, that has the dial pad integrated.
Ultimate Caller ID Screen HD, from the Play Store, is great but does NOT have the dial pad once in a call.

[Q] App for texting using tablet?

What is the best app out there for sending and receiving SMS text messages using your tablet?
sms sync tab text.. these are two that i have tired both work. Not used them in a while so might work better now with updates to them.. can do bluetooth or must be on same wifi network. .
Also if you are tethered you can use google voice or yahoo messenger to text to and from phone numbers. Groove ip as well and grove with google voice is awesome to make Phone calls from tablet.. There are so many out there you will have to try and find what works best for your liking and style.
I would recommend using SyncSMS
I would recommend Google voice and talkatone, as the latter requires a Google voice number. Talkatone incorporates both WiFi calling and SMS texting, while using only Google voice allows only texting over WiFi.
I've been trying out Tablet Talk lately and it seems to work well.

Same here... Tablet Talk is awesome!
I use mighty text. I am not sure about the other apps, but this app uses your own phone number, and there is an extension for the chrome browser for a computer.
SyncSMS
I think I like SyncSMS the best. It seems to be the best of the suggestions.
Google Voice + Groove IP apps so you can make/receive unlimited calls within North America along with unlimited SMS text for free over WIFI. Just pay the one time fee for the Groove IP app or use free equivalent.
I really like tablet talk

+1 to Google Voice. I use Google Voice's app for texts, and GrooveIP for calls.
I'm using mySMS it's free and works good. Give it a try. I have it set on my cell phone to run in background but not to notify or pop up. I then am able to use Handcent as my normal SMS application.

Do any of the texting apps mentioned here actually give you your own #, so that actual mobile users can text you? (I'm only aware of Google Voice doing this)
Using tablet talk and it's working great.

Using syncsms here, just make sure you have free space in your drop box and you're fine!

Messaging app for Nexus 7

Before I got my Nexus, I used my Droid X as my primary internet browsing device. Now, of course, I use my Nexus for that but I don't have an easy way of sending links or pictures to all my friends (preferably straight to their SMS inboxes). I'm using Google Voice for texting but you can't send pictures. Anyone have any good alternatives? It would be nice to have a hacked stock Messaging app that can utilize your Google Voice number or something but I'm not sure how feasible this is. Also if anyone could assist me in getting calls to work through the Voice app I'd appreciate that too
Check out Tablet Talk in play store. Don't know if u can send pictures though.

Add contacts to reject call list.

I am coming from the Samsung Galaxy S3 and one of the features that I really liked was the ability to add contacts to the reject call list, and I'm wondering if the LG G2 has a similar functionality and where I could find it if so. Thanks

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but once you have a contact:
Open the contact
Click on Menu button
Check "All calls to voicemail"
This will result in calls from that contact being automatically directed to voice mail.

ROM vs Stock? + Pairing With Phone

I'm new to tablets and I'm sweating out a decision between the Note 8.0 and the LG G Pad 8.3. I'd like to get some feedback on the ROMs available for the tablet. Mainly, I'd like to know if all the S-pen and multi window functions work as well as they do in the stock ROM. Also, one feature I really like in the G Pad is the Q-pair. It syncs with your phone via bluetooth and lets you reply to texts or see incoming calls. Is there anything like this on the Note or in any of the ROMs available? Thanks in advance.
You can do the pairing with any tab and phone to text and make calls with apps like tabletalk

Is it me or does it not work right with vzw???? Doesn't give you the text of the voice mail....
Galaxy Note 3
It shows the text transcripts for me in the Google voice app.

Better Youmail. I do use Google Voice for my home voice mail but it last so many features and options that Better Youmail have. One frustrating part on GV is in Voicemail you cannot select multiple items to del...which at the least a very simple task but not there...

Does it give you an error because of vzw not supporting the set up????
Galaxy Note 3
It does when you initially set it up but just click to make Google voice your vm service and it still works. You do have to actually go on a computer to set up Google voice the first time to activate or turn it on. Sorry it has been a while. But I have used this on my N3 and thunderbolt and it worked well on both.

anybody uses a Visual Voicemail in canada with Android?
Is there an app which automatically calls the provider VM number and download the VM as mp3 or other audio file?
There's an app in the play store called nexus visual voicemail.
It doesn't trigger Verizon recognizing that you have a voice mail app so it will send you a text saying you have a VM

I've been using phone fusion, now called visual voicemail plus, for years and no complaints.
Does the job, and does it well.
