Didn't see an aggregation thread of this kind for the Note, thought it might be useful for people.
First off, the Engadget review, surprised me how positive they were!
Then I've got a few of my own pieces (with lots more to come, fire away if you have questions!
Unboxing:
How to Root (Odin method), also has first demo of MHL and the Note that I'm aware of (showing off Shadowgun with a PS3 controller):
What else have people seen that is cool?

A full fledged review of the Note; much like Engadget, they have nothing but praise for the device.

This is the only video I've seen of the white version making an appearance.
Ooh, thanks for the 3G review, hadn't seen it yet!

...and another one confirming microSDXC cards work in the Note:

I notice in none of those last two reviews do they mention the pentile matrix, or banding, or anything much of substance in relation to the screen. Precisely that sort of thing that makes me increasingly go off those major blogs reviews - they don't really get the concerns of us uber phone geeks...
More stuff, massive connectivity video:
Next part of my review is up here, covers entertainment aspects (audio quality, music and video playback, the browser, gaming).
Part one, if anyone missed it is here, and covers Unboxing, Initial impressions, Design/build quality, Screen and Benchmarks.
Unboxing from amazon.de. Starting right from the delivery box
A review by Ben Stevens of the UK "Which" magazine that gives a nice demo of the Note plus a desk full of official Samsung add-ons including:
Additional Battery Charger/Desk Stand
Horizontal/Vertical Desk Dock Charger
Car Dock
MHL/OTG Interface Leads
Protective Flip Cover.
Thanks NZtechfreak for tip on getting the Youtube video embedded here and for all your excellent experiments and info on the Note.
Had never heard of the Phonejoy gamepad - now have one on back order. Also getting into MHL and OTG experiments myself !

You just need the ID tag, the string of letters and numbers after the "=" sign.
@htc6500uk: Thanks for that, I have the flip case, but haven't seen the other things.
I am sad to say that after all that waiting and pacing and nail biting, the Galaxy Note was NOT the gadget for me. I actually didn't give it much of a chance. I had it out of the box for about an hour and what I felt to be a "horrible back cover" convinced me to take out my sim, take my Galaxy Tab 5" down and put the Note up in it's place on eBay.
I am not big on tweaking and rooting etc. My gadgets just need to "FEEL SOLID" and the Note didn't .. My Galaxy Tab feels GREAT .. My iPhone 4s feels GREAT ... but the Note was lacking .. JUST MY OPINION .. some people want thin and light weight. I wear a purse so it doesn't matter.
FINGERS CROSSED for some other gadget to come around soon .. I'm kinda waiting for something like the Note from HTC .. I will be in search of a solid feeling gadget, with phone and data on T-Mobile. That's all.

This is the wrong thread for this type of post... but I must say - what about a unibody frame, beautiful full glass screen and classy (if a little slippery) textured back didnt "feel solid" to you?
You are quite vague in your criticism...
There are no 'official' threads here, frankly, a review is nothing more than opinion. Let's keep the door open to everyone and respect their opinions, people are entitled to them.
THAT... WAS... A REAL... PLEASURE... TO.... READ!!
Grab a cup of coffee or your favourite beverage and enjoy the review. I damn sure did.

You may read my ever updating blogs dedicated to the Galaxy Note here.
Mind you it may not be as professional as the rest of yours but will keep getting updated constantly.
Hmmn, read the GSMarena review, interesting that their audio results were so impressive (I wonder if they still have the problem with testing with headphones, Supercurio previously was very critical of their testing results). Good to see an objective test confirming what my ears told me about the loudspeaker.
The GPS coverage was pretty anaemic, I think mine is much better:

Yours was without doubt was better and a joy to watch. I actually watched the whole video/route.
Also I do enjoy reading GSMArena's reviews, because I'm use to them(very old visitor/follower) but surely they are biased from time to time(or at least they seem so) and many times I did not agree with their reviews/remarks/findings etc.
P.S: Different thread for this but, it's kinda tricky that they did NOT mentioned the Note's front glass, since they even state it on their specs. My guess? They did not bother to remove it from the specifications.
For the record NZtechfreak, I love your reviews... to the extent that I have androidnz on my google reader now.
It's rare to find such in-depth coverage of the actual user's experience with a phone.
Review from the Telegraph UK:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/samsung/8894595/Samsung-Galaxy-Note.html
2.5 star rating. Complaints about the Note not replacing pen and paper seem to be the main focus and criticism.
Although I am holding my final judgement of the note until I have it for a while (only had it for a week), my opinion so far differs sharply with this review. I am guessing that the Note will get panned by some for its size, regardless of features or performance.

The Telegraph are just a newspaper though right? Not specifically a tech site? Most newspapers are terrible uninformed when it comes to technology.
Didn't see any threads in the Iconia area so figured I'd post. Been using it for a couple days now and like it a lot. Has 6 clips that hold the iconia in the case real good. Bottom 2 clips detach to allow the bottom to pop out and sit in one of the 3 stand grooves in the cover. The cover has a clip on it too that holds on real good. Case is made of black, leather-like material and the inside is a gray felt material. Also, all ports are accessible. Due to use of clips instead of a full enclosing style "sleeve," it allows full access to the edges of the screen, unlike the Acer case which came with my tab and I don't like. For $20 with free shipping which took a week, I give it 9/10, only because it's advertised as leather and it's a leather blend material which doesn't bug me.
I cannot post links yet so go to Amazon and search for Vipertek Iconia a500 for some pics.
edit: forgot to add cutouts on the back for the speakers and the camera.

The link posted by azoller1 in reply to my original post is the correct link to Amaz. Ordered it on 11/12/11 and it arrived by USPS on 11/16/11. It looks, it feels and it smells like leather on the outside whilst the inner lining is micro-fill. It has 6 "clips", (looking at it in landscape view) 2 are at the top L & R corners, 2 are at the bottom L & R corners and the final 2 are on the L & R sides about one third of the way down from the top. When it is closed up the A500 engages in all 6 clips. When it is fully closed every "input" (power, hdmi, usb full, usb "B", on/off button, volume up/down, rotation lock and even the sd card cover) are all accessible. To operate the A500 you have to "unhook" the bottom 2 clips and slide the bottom edge of the A500 into one of the "ridges" where it rests at the required angle. Although I am not an acomplished photographer I hope the attached photos will show that.
Having used it for a couple of days I am growing to like it especially at the price I paid.......THERE LIES THE RUB!......... When I bought it on 11/12/11 it was quoted on Amaz's site as $9.93 plus $4.99 shipping and even without seeing it I thought I couldn't go wrong at that price. On Tuesday 11/15/11 I went to Amaz's to check on delivery date and ........SHOCK HORROR........ found that the price was now shown as $19.98 plus shipping. Long story short I checked my bank account and found that the original price quoted me of $9.93 plus shipping was what had been charged to my debit card. There was no notice on the web site when I bought it that it was a special offer or some such so I can only conclude that for a short time a mistake had been made by the selling company.
At the price I paid I would heartily recommend this case BUT I am not certain I would at twice the price. But if you like the look of it, look around and see if you can find a reduced price.

I have it as well. I have had mine 7 days. I frikkin love this thing. Nice, thin, unobtrusive and best of all has a look of great quality. Get one guys they are the shiz.
just ordered it yesterday.. there are also others that are the same just rebranded for different prices.
the thing that really differentiates this from other cases is that it doesnt cover the bezel all around
---------- Post added at 08:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 PM ----------
err.. the one i actually ordered was the vertek branded one..
This is also the one I have my tablet in.there are two flaws.
1, I do not like the forword type stand does not lay in my Lap as easly as the fold back type.
2.it needs to have some color good tech stuffs always targeted for men.grrrrr.
I did order the red crown case I just hope the quality is even half this viper case.
grabbed the Blurex one on amazon. it was 17.00 usd couldn't complain judging by the pics in your post here, it's identical probably the same manufacturer just a different sales brand stamped into the leather. and i concur the quality of these cases are great.

I've been using the junky old stock Acer rubber case for a while now. Looks like a much better bang for the buck from what I can see. Thanks for the heads up!
just a heads up.. these cases(doesnt matter what brand) all say black but the inside flap is actually a grey color(obvious because of pics), verteks has one with the inside being all black, which i prefer. so if you prefer black/black, get the verteks branded one.
I have had this HTC One M8 for five months now, and it still impresses me I have owned 13 different Android flagship phones the past five years, and I would put this One M8 at the top, especially if running the 'GPE' version. Great design, amazing build quality, awesome sounding stereo speakers that are loud and clear, it's warp speed fast, gorgeous screen, and the battery life, wow.
I just installed a fresh 'GPE' ROM on Monday, and look at these battery life results, this compares to my old Galaxy Note 2, which was a beast on battery.
I unplugged my phone yesterday off the charger at 6:00am, and didn't charge again until bedtime at 11:00pm. I got 6h On Screen time, and total usage of 17 hours. And it was a workday, so major use nonstop for work, two hours of phone calls, hundred texts, GPS Navigation, plenty of web use looking up Vendor sites, etc... And most of this was on the 4G LTE network, only a couple hours of this on WiFi. I was hammering on this phone all day and night, HEAVY use.
I'm known as "that guy who changes phones every 6 months", but I gotta say, I'm hanging on to this M8 for the foreseeable future. I've had mine since about 2 weeks after launch, and my only complaint with my device is not being able to get the dust/whatever it is out of my speaker grills no matter what I try. Other than that 10/10.
Looks really great i'm not even able to get that on sense and even wasn't able to get it on GPE...but i think because the phone is for more then 10 hours on mobile data and i just have 2-3 bars because of LTE not in a town it Drains much more Juice will try soon again the GPE Rom or at first the Dev Edition RUU
glad to hear your synopsis on the phone... though i am late to the party, (since i have just ordered it today) im sure that i will hang onto the device atleast for a couple of years. heard alot of good reviews about this beast and i have no regrets of chosing this over the xperia z2 or z3

Can of compressed air with a straw attached will blow out the holes on the speaker grills, unless of course its sticky crap.

Yes but then you blow it into the phone. I rather have it out of the phone
What i do from time to time (and did with all my phones) is to rub really good sticky tape over the grills and then pull it off including as much dirt as it can get.
One of the main reasons for NOT blowing air with force in to a phone is the amount of dust that finds its way in to camera lenses/glass covers and screen glass... potentially. Clearly this will vary from phone type to phone type - but the risk is there anyway.
(Sony IPxx phones have ingress protection that would probably be damaged by forced air)
Your call.

I've actually tried compressed air, a vacuum, tape, and even silly putty. I don't know what's in there, but it's not coming out.
Same here. I am unable to put up with touchwiz but I love sense. With multirom just ported. I can run cm11 and sense. Best of both worlds. 10/10 phone.
Think you guys have had a lot of phones? I just bought phone number 45 in the last 3 years. The M8 is the longest I've had any phone (same 5 months as OP). Use to change phones as often as every two weeks because craigslist makes it so easy. But I'm sticking to this one! Still enjoy it a lot!

No complaints here. As soon as I got it home. I did all the usual hacks. But I had to RUU in order to get the last update. Been running stock since and I'm still impressed. I've even come to appreciate the camera and have taken some pretty decent pictures.

Agreed debating on the Note 4 because I really miss the spen and large screen. Samsung's lackluster support after 12 months especially on the Note Series. (Seems like the "s" series is better supported.) Prevents me from jumping ship. The rumors of a 6 inch NeXus program is really tempting. For now I want to stay HTC also in June heard rumors of HTC Prime or the max successor. Haven't heard much of anything on that...I love Phablets!
Since last November, I've had a moto x, n5 and now an M8. I doubt I'll be getting another phone for a couple years now.
Unless new ones wash my car, do my dishes, read the kids bedtime stories and tuck them in... Then massage my back. ?
Oh, and grocery shop for me.
i have had my m8 for merely 24 hours, but im certain that this is gonna be with me for another 2 years... damn im so in love with this phone. its the best upgrade over my one x. respect to htc for making such a beauty
I've also had mine for about 5 months. Got it about two weeks after it came out. Definitely my favorite phone so far. My only complaint is that the sleek aluminum body makes it so "slippery". When I first got it, it always felt like it was going to fly out of my hand, so I put a thin TPU case on it. Gives it much more grip, and doesn't detract from its style too much.

I thought the same thing. I then did a bunch of research... Ok, like 2 minutes of Google-ing stuff... Anyways, apparently the standard cardboard becomes messed up pretty quickly. Forehead sweat, hand and face oils, etc. This one is made from plastic, so that's already a plus... I have NO PROOF of this, but because of the cutouts for our buttons, speaker, and cam, I can't help but think this is a stepping stone to something greater with this device/VR set...
I got cardboard. Is true, it last short, but after the first day or two of WOW, it stand on the desk...

So yea i loved my phone a lot when I first got it dressed it up in a nice clear case for a week and then my dbrand skin showed up after an eternity. Paid 1 dollar for shipping i would say cant conplain, but 3 weeks later got me pissed. Especially with their no cancellation policy. And their return policy sucks as well. But this was some of the cheapest material ive ever seen. Just sitting on a table or in my pocket or in my hands, the skin decolorized and tore in 2 days. My front piece wasnt measured correctly at all and overall i paid 20 dollars for just a camera sticker. It's the only one that really didnt get in the way. Otherwise it was 20 wasted. Poor quality vinyls poor quality shipping poor quality customer service. Spend your money elsewhere. Just get a cool case or a thin clear one. The phone is beautiful on its own.
Don't have this experience at all. Maybe you should contact dBrand instead of posting a rant on the OnePlus 3t forum.
in regards to the tearing you might have applied it wrong. I've had a dbrand skin on this phone since day one of daily driver usage back in November. 0 issues with the skin coming off or being torn.
agreed with above too.
i'm using a back skin on my op3t from dbrand and i'm very satisfied with.
Go get your hair dryer and get it right is all I can say ?

Never had a problem with any of my dbrands.

I have to agree with others there. I have had my skin on since I got my 3T and I do not have any issues.
Just because you have issues, that does not mean everyone should avoid it - it could have been just one bad batch.
I bought skin for S6 from dbrand and its been on my phone half a year now and the skin holds perfectly well and has no issues you mentioned above.
I dunno. I've had my dbrand carbon since the Nexus 4 days and it's still holding up fine.
