[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Debrick Image

Hi there
I have HARD bricked my phone (can't use combination keys to get into recovery mode).
I am looking for someone who has a DEBRICK image or who is willing to create and upload one so that I can recover the phone.
The specific software on the phone at the time of death was Android 5.01 and Phone Model is N910GDTU1BOD3.
ALTERNATIVELY, I have another Samsung Note 4 (identical). If you can give me exact step by step instructions and links (so many vague instructions here on XDA) that would help. I promise to create an article here and post recognizing your direct and help!
Many thanks in advance.
Zim
Have you tried putting it in download mode? (vol. down+home+power)
If you can then download frimware from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and follow the instructions to flash it via Odin.
Hi!
Have you managed to unbrick your Galaxy Note 4? I've got the same problem. Also i've got the detailed instruction how to solve it. But I'm stuggeling to find a working sm-n9100 to make sd-card image.

Check this out , there is a guide and the recovery pit file as well .
https://mega.nz/#!qt81HZiS!-XyNN1m_TEi8dvGrjnEQsxClpfzk7nT_0DliYFJDPew
You just have to :
Load "recovery pit" file in pit partition of odin and any marshmallow bootlaoder in BL (the bootloader that is currently there on working phone is preferable ).
Then, insert a 32gb sdhc sd card in working note 4 and go to download mode .
Flash the two files that i have mentioned above .
The working phone is just a medium , it shouldnt be affected , the blank sd card in that phone will get loaded with the two files.
Then , put that sd card in bricked note 4 , try to enter download mode .
If it succesfully enters download mode , congratulations, you created a working debrick image .
Also download a full repair firmware , that is available on xda .

Debrick has been created , and reportedly working :

[GUIDE] Not quite newbie guide for moving to 5.1.1

In one of the development threads a request was made for a step-by-step for transitioning to a 5.1.1 ROM from an earlier version and an example was given from another device. Well I modified the example to make it apply to the Sprint Note 4.
All files needed are linked at the end of this post. This is my first attempt at a guide, so any suggestions for improvement will be gladly accepted.
Prerequisites:
1 - Latest Samsung-USB-Drivers (1.5.55.0) installed
2 - Odin v3.10.6 installed
3 - Two files either on an extsdcard in the phone or on your PC for sideloading through adb:
UBERWIPE.zip (Only for use if you have an extsdcard), BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
**** - If you do not have an extsdcard you will need adb installed on your PC in order to get the SuperSU
file onto your phone for flashing.
Loading Stock OG5:
1 – Run Odin v3.10.6 as administrator
2 – Load the appropriate tar in the AP slot
--If you are on OB7 Bootloader and wish to keep it load Hybrid_OB7sbl_SPT_N910PVPU4COG5.tar
--For complete OG5 upgrade load N910PVPU4COG5_N910PSPT4COG5_N910PVPU4COG5.tar.md5
3 – Click on the ‘Options’ tab avove the Log window
4 – Uncheck the reboot option in Odin.
5 - Click on the ‘Log’ tab above the Log window
6 – Phone off. Enter download mode by holding down Vol Down, Home and Power to first screen presence
7 – Enter download mode by moving cursor – Vol Up.
8 – Plug phone into PC. Drivers are already installed so look for Connection in Odin.
9 – Start Odin on good battery charge. Don’t touch phone until complete, 5-10min.
10 – Close Odin, disconnect cable from phone, turn phone off and remove battery.
Removing the battery is the only way to turn it off at this point. Not exactly true but that's all you need to know. It's the best way.
Rooting via TWRP touch recovery:
1 – Put battery back in and enter download mode as above.
2 – Run Odin as administrator and load twrp-2.8.7.0-trltespr.img.tar in the AP slot
3 – Click on the ‘Options’ tab avove the Log window
4 – Uncheck the reboot option in Odin.
5 - Click on the ‘Log’ tab above the Log window
6 – Plug in phone to PC and watch for Odin to establish connection
7 – Start Odin. It will be quick.
8 – When done close Odin. Unplug phone, Power Down and remove battery.
9 – Replace battery and enter Recovery Mode by holding Vol Up, Home and Power to first screen presence
10 – Let TWRP load
11 – If you don’t have an extsdcard then navigate to Advanced > ADB Sideload and use adb to transfer BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip from your PC to your phone
12 – Navigate back to the main screen the to Install and choose the location of the SuperSU file
13 – After flashing BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip choose Wipe Dalvik/Cache option.
14 - When wipe is completed you have two choices:
--Choose reboot in which case you will have a rooted stock system
--Wipe the current system and install a custom ROM (see below)
If you choose to flash a custom ROM:
1 - Wipe the current system
--If you have and extsdcard with UBERWIPE.zip on it all you need to do is install that zip and when the
recovery automatically reboots your phone will be clean and ready for a new ROM
--If you don’t have an extsdcard I recommend the following:
A - Navigate to the Wipe submenu
B - Perfom a factory reset 3 times
C - Choose format data, type yes on the following screen then enter. Do this 3 times
D - Navigate back to the Wipe submenu and choose Advanced. Then choose everything except extsdcard
and execute. Do this 3 times.
(At this point if you don’t have an extsdcard you will need to navigate Advanced > ADB Sideload and tansfer the ROM of your choice from your PC to your phone)
2 - Navigate to Install and choose the location of your ROM file
3 - When the flash has completed choose the Wipe Dalvik/Cache button
(At this point I always flash the Beta-SuperSU file and wipe Dalvik/cache again, but I’m just OCD)
4 - Reboot the phone and LET IT SIT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES before you touch it to set anything up!!!
Here is a list of the files and executables you'll be working with: (Links either lead to thread of the file on XDA or direct download from my person Google Drive account)
Samsung-Usb-Driver-v1.5.55.0.exe
Odin3_v3.10.6.zip (3.10.7 is avaiable now as well)
Either:
HYBRID_OB7sbl_SPT_N910PVPU4COG5.tar
- or -
N910PVPU4COG5_N910PSPT4COG5_N910PVPU4COG5.tar.md5
twrp-2.8.7.0-trltespr.img.tar (unless a newer version has been released)
Sprint_Hybrid-X_3.0_N910PVPU4COG5_Deodexed,zip Or any other custom 5.1.1 ROM
BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
Optional -
UBERWIPE.zip by:millerboy3
MD5_and_SHA_Checksum_Utility.exe (I personally never use it unless I run into serious problems after multiple downloads)
thank you so much worked like a charm
Good job wolf. Even though the rom OP's have the needed info some people get a little overwhelmed by the amount of info so it will be helpful to many to have a step by step. Good job.
Thanks for this thread. However, it did not work for me. Only way I could get to OG5 was by Odin to N910PVPU3BOF5_N910PSPT3BOF5_N910PVPU3BOF5_HOME.tar and taking the OTA to OG5. I was just running stock rooted with the newest TWRP . Followed everything to a T. Maybe today just isn't my day.

Which file did you use to try and Odin to OG5? The Hybrid with OB7 bootloader or the pure stock OG5?

Mackie, exactly which rom do you want to flash?
Post a screenshot of the last 7 entries in "about device" in settings.

Don't mean this to be an inquisition but what failures did you get with Odin or boot or function when following this tut?
Both tars not getting you there is an answer but details, please. TIA. Glad you managed on your own. Not doubting you but curious enough to ask.

I'm curious as well.
Thanks people who have either replied in this thread or messaged me.
The erorrs I was having was with Odin. It would not write at all for either Hybrid_OB7sbl_SPT_N910PVPU4COG5.tar or N910PVPU4COG5_N910PSPT4COG5_N910PVPU4COG5.tar.md5. In fact, Odin would get an error within about 5 seconds of pushing start. Again, the only way to get around it was to Odin back to OF5 and taking the OTA OG5. Once I was on OG5, I was able to flash TWRP in Odin and also install the ROM of my choice with no issues.
For what its worth, tried 3 different revisions of Odin. I used 3.10.6 for TWRP . Seems funny to me I could Odin OF5 but not OG5 . This device is a replacement I got from Assurion about a week after the Note 4's were no longer being sold. It came with OF5 .
Have a good day all!

NOTE 4 Hard brick, Fixed

Hi All
I have posted in this forum along with a lot of other with bad note 4 problems, in this thread here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...restarting-t3348821/post71863607#post71863607.
There seems to be a lot of crap and useful stuff on there. Anyway starting a new thread to share my fix for my note 4 whick seemed hard bricked, but after a month i gave it another go after reading stuff about fixing the hard boot.
I found this link worked for my note N910w8 candian version...
https://pastebin.com/7KQxRRNF. I used the windisk version to get files onto the SD card.
This seemed to work and i was able to get into download mode. At step 21) Click the blue folder icon and navingate to the root folder. Open the file "".
The quotation marks should be file SD4GB.WinDI.IMG, i assume... This is a big file and i had a recovery img file from all my rooting around on the net. So i did not use this file.
When it came to using odin to write files, I tried steps 28 to 31, using the
BL (Bootloader)
 AP (PLATFORM)
 CP(MODEM)
 and CSC. files.
However this failed, it reported missing PIT file.
So try no.2 i followed the steps in the Open the PDF "(14-96) Boot Recovery Guide_Qualcomm_APQ8084 (includes SM-N910F) Rev 3_0.pdf" where you also can follow the steps.
And i follwed step 2-5 and on;y used the PIT file and BL file.
And odin passed and my phone rebooted:laugh::laugh::laugh::good::good::good::good: So pretty stocked.
I do not understand the technical use of PIt fies etc. From what i have read you can get it wrong but hey my phone was useless so i could not stuff it anymore.
Anyway hope this can help some of the frustrated NOTE 4 users out there..
PS. This has got my phone up and running but does not guarnetee that it is fixed, As its comes up with ddi:mmc read fail in download mode, so the mmc could be no good.
Cheers

After installing this...can i flash another kitkat stockrom to get rid of bugs...followed by rooting to avoid any updates....This is just an idea???
Worked for me thank you very much .
I bought this phone long time ago and abandoned it becase the update destroyed it(poor battery life, restarting hanging, lost my data after update because if firgetting my pin and the update deleted the finger prunts and smart select was downgraded after update)
Now finally I can use what I have bought years ago
and will still sue samsung for that stupid nonsense.

You better stick to 4.4.4. If you update you will lose alot of Features such as OSR when you write with spen OCR when taking a nunber as a note and calling it with two touches is even better than note 9 using kitkat note4. And battery life is much better in kitkat.

Yeah, but most of my works apps don't support KitKat. It has to be Lollipop or newer.
