Hi All ,
How To Confirm That My Battery Have Problem And Need A Replacement ?
My Battery drain now is so annoying and drops so fast although i don't use the phone that much just let the WiFi for notifications
Playing the Music Player For 1 hour consumes about 13% of battery
Using ARHD ROM
New battery will cost me about 60$ so i want to confirm that it's the battery
Using DHD for 1 year now
Thanks all
13% per hour hour isn't too bad, it could be a bad flash. Usually an actual battery issue will be drain in standby within minutes.
Although everything works well, sometimes a you flash a Rom and the battery life is just really abnormal.
You could also try recalibrating your battery. Use battery recalibration from play store (needs root). I recommend unplugging andletting it drain down to a few percent, you don't need to force shut down your phone.
Since you've had that battery for a year, how long was it in extreme heat? (30 celcius) above. Heat is a lithium ion battery's worst enemy
Finally, an unofficial battery from amazon will be just as good if not better for only $20USD. It's like an official crap case and screen protector for 200 USD, or more than the phone is worth, or a quarter that for a bullet proof third party case.

Try using the phone only for web browsing. If you can continuously use web browser for more than 3 hours, battery is fine.
Thanks all
Will give it another try and see how it will work
i had also the same question, i flashed now a new rom and battery goes excellent...maybe wipe battery stats also plays some kind of role?
Just Fullcharge your phone , wipe batterystats and let it discharge , so it can remake new stats.
Also try a clean reflash of your ROM.
0. Backup
1. Format all partitions(except sdcard)
2. Wipe cache/dalvik
3. Wipe batterystats(if phone is on 100%)
4. Flash your preferred ROM
5. Fixing permissions(optional)
[Can be quickly done with 4EXT ]

Stop fixing permissions and stop wiping battery stats because it has no basis in reality.
Fixing permissions only works if apps are force closing.
There is a code to type into the dialer to see your battery health, or download an app called Better Battery Stats, and you can the same results.

did you check if an app could have caused the battery drain?
but yes, i feel that the battery lastet longer on 4.3, but have to check this the next days to be sure.

Battery definately draining faster on mine. I read at work on my Tablet, and maybe watch a couple short videos. Today My battery was down to 1/3 by noon, and has been usually like 60 or 70 percent.

It's a good idea to clear the dalvik cache and normal cache, using the recovery kernel as your tablet maybe cycling through incompatibility from the update. It happened to me and my tablet become slow and heated. After the wipe the tablet relooked and reconstructed the dalvik items and all is super smooth and running like Swiss clockwork.
Hey you guys, i bought my galaxy S5 SM-G900H about 2 weeks ago and loved absolutely everything from the phone except the battery life. Coming from an Htc One Max and a OnePlus One I was used to be getting 24+ hours of battery life and with the S5 I was getting 12-15 hours tops. Im kind of a heavy user, I take pictures a lot ane constantly use wifi and my 4G data connection.
Well, to make a long story short, I tried enabling ART in my phone and now im getting 26-28 hours of battery life!! Im using the stock touchwiz rom that came with the phone and im not using any battery saver app of any sort. In other words im completely stock.
I find this improvement to be a massive one and I strongly suggest you try it.
P.S. btw everythings running smoothly with ART on my phone, no crashes whatsoever.

Something i'd overlooked, i'll give it a whirl.
I have ART enabled few weeks back, definitely improvement on battery life but have minor issues with some of the apps and experiencing a little bit of lag on my phone.
I hadn't even heard of ART until today, so I went and google'd it. I'll give it a try for a while and see how it goes. Thanks for the heads up on performance!
Actually found a negative effect since enabling ART, i usually get around a day and a half up to two days and enabling ART made it go the other way, have reverted back to Dalvic. Different strokes i suppose.

Thanks for the post. Contrary to the previous poster's opinion, which is factually mistaken, ART is well known to improve battery life. There are numerous threads that concur with the OP's experience and even Google cites that as one of the reasons that they are transitioning the Android OS to use ART instead of Dalvik as the primary cache method in the future.
At this time, it's difficult to recommend ART to Qualcom device owners as there are a number of bugs and incompatibilities that make using ART an arduous experience. However ART works better for the 900H at this time and as the OP suggests it is well worth considering if you are using an Exynos (900H) device.
.
I can't live without xposed

Using my 900f I had quite a few issues with art on neatrom. Went back to dalvik and all good. Also started to use exposed so art isn't a viable option.
Getting about 12-18 hours fairly heavy use. More would be good but I charge nightly anyhoo.

I have seen a couple of threads over at the official OnePlus forums regarding this debate, however I am yet to see one on the forums here.
There seems to be lots of different opinions on this. I have definitely found performance to be snappier on ART compared to Davlik. When I did run ART battery life was slightly worse. (However i only used it for a week.) I'm willing to give ART another run now with the new 44S update.
For you, which runtime gives you better battery life?
I think as great as this discussion goes, art is the default runtime and only runtime available in Android lollipop and forward.
For me personally, it doesn't make that much of a difference. I just preferred dalvik because it didn't take as long to cache my apps on first boot after flashing a new rom.

I had very similar results in battery life minus the huge drain after compiling apps..

At first when I tested it seems ART got slightly worse battery life but when I switch back to Dalvik the battery life is basically the same. But I'm all ART, it's much snappier and more responsive.
much better battery life on Art, about an hour extra browsingon any rom I tried.

I've just reswitched over to ART on 44S. The performance increase is really noticeable, everything feels super smooth.
Battery has been draining quite a bit. I'll give it a few charges and see how it goes. Really hope battery isn't worsened for me, cause that is the only thing that puts me off using ART.

I get marginally better battery life on ART, though everything generally feels smoother so give it a shot!
better battery life by quite a bit for me with art vs dalvik, on mahdi rom.
Switched to ART and suddenly phone started overheating and ultimately started lagging.. So switched back to dalvik..need to wait for Lollipop goodness..

----------------------Dalvik vs ART
App install time:------Short - Long(very noticeable, but not too much)
Battery life:----------Good - Tiny bit better
App launch time:-----Very good - Tiny bit better
Xposed support:------Yes - Not supported (yet)
Lollipop support:------No - Yes
Thats about all.
no noticable difference in battery life, but (and this may be my imagination) the day to day performance is a lot better.
I recently updated my phone with lollipop 5.0.2. But after the update google services constantly draining battery.
Location turned off, sync turned off, not using google now features, used Gservice fix.

Same here, MY solution: Downgrade to 4.4.4, since that ... my battery is awesome using KK :victory:
I will wait for lolli 5.1 or something
Theres nothing we can do in lollipop to stop this battery drain issue??
I might also have to downgrade if this problem persists.

It's perfetcly normal after a system upgrade that Gservices drain battery. It takes a few days till battery becomes stabilized. Gservices will be updated soon as usual and this problem if it is a version problem will be fixed.
Just keep in mind that's normal.
Cheers
Edit
BTW Remember that all apps had to be updated and Gservices worked freakly more than usual too
No issue here, battery life is just perfect!

Xt1068 from Germany, flashed to 4.4.4 global version and then update to lollipop.
For those with issues did you just update or did you start with a factory reset device into your lollipop adventure?
Mine was factory reset at kit kart, because of the change by flashing German firmware to global firmware.

To be honest, I just looked at your screenshot and in my opinion there is no problem with battery drain if you still have 39% left at the end of the day....
This was not really better on kitkat... You have to charge daily... Nothing new here...
ok. thanks...

Battery life is satifying here.
No problems so far.
same problem here
Same here. 5.0 was ok, I'm usually getting 6 to 9 days of battery life of very light phone calls and text.
But after 5.0.2, I'm only getting 2 days at very most. Tho I was just updated 3 days ago. I'm monitoring it.
I had the same problem, Google Play sevices kept my phone active and deep sleep time was very low, after a facery reset battery time is much better, and deep sleep time is much better.
