Hi, I guess my battery life's improved significantly after the Lollipop update. I think you might need to reinstall Lollipop.

Mine is draining a lot faster too.
Did a full wipe.

Me too, no problems, perhaps even a little bit better battery life than on Kitkat.

Same here no problem. Flash stock again and then restore the backup.

No probs here also!
Try going to Recovery (TWRP/CWM) and do a Full Data Wipe and Clear Caches and Wipe Dalvik Caches also.

Even i was facing problem with battery, battery was not lasting even for 5 hours. Which started after i upgraded my moto G to lollipop. Fortunately there was no issue with lollipop updated and issue was caused due location service which uses GPS radio (which uses more battery power), turned off the location (slide from top of screen and turn off location) and issue resolved.

try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxrcUs3-wGg

good
great advice, battery is quite stable after a full wipe cache partitions, previously, wifi and awake were always on and consuming battery fast. now every thing is ok.

my battery can hold a screen on time just under 5 hours. ( With between light and heavy usage ) I use apps like whatsapp, facebook, 9gag and the local news app a lot. Maybe your battery is not calibrated good? But what i did notice is that from 100%-50% it drains much faster then from 50%-0% battery. wich is kinda strange.

my battery faster discharge between 100% to 90% .. .. O_O" !

Try to set the CPU Min clock Range to 300mhz. Should work

hi can u plz give me some info about ur lollypop plz

Mostly caused by apps waking the phone for background data.
You can restrict all background mobile data by going to:-
Settings, Data usage and slide the mobile data switch (top right) to off.
Tap the menu dots and tap show wifi, or tap the WiFi tab.
You will then have a long list of all your installed apps on which you can turn mobile background data on and off as you require.

Alright. I'm getting horrible battery life. Do you guys have any tips? Even after a data wipe its still bad. And tips specifics to this phone or general ones? Thanks

Are you in an area with poor reception?
You can try turning GPS and WiFi off when not in use.
You can also root your phone and feeeze/remove bloatware.

I had the same issues after my update. I then went and froze mobeam, all Knox services, enterprise.knox, knoxs.eventmanager, and a Security wipe apk. Let my note drain all the way until it powered down. Let it charge full cycle while turned off. So far work 1hr and 45 mins of on screen on time I'm down 15%. I feel like that's decent. Been on xda app pretty heavy and 2 different games straight with no screen timeouts

Best tip I can give in general, whether you're experiencing bad battery life or not, is to learn how to bring down the Google based wakelocks across play store, youtube, account sync, maps, hangouts/talk etc
So how does one do this? First, do the obvious by going into each Google app - Menu key - settings - and untick things such as annoymous usage data, google mob ads etc. Delete apps you don't use if you're rooted too.
Disable Account Sync altogether if you can, location services in gps settings, bluetooth, nfc
More advanced things you can do is learn about "wakelocks" here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827676

Change settings in some apps how frequent they should update. For example, update every 6 hours and change settings in Location to device only that might help. On my phone, I had a battery drain to zero just overnight. I disabled Google+ because I do not use it and in Google Play Services turn location off. I also wiped cache and dalvik cache in recovery and the battery drain stops.

Wrong screen.
To check what is draining your system, select in first tab: Partial Wakelocks.

What I meant is not an off screen battery drain, rather it is an onscreen battery drain that is far more quicker than 4.3, with my phone under normal usage having a maximum of like 1.5 hours of on screen time even though idle drain is low.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
And I am telling you that this doesn't prove anything.
At same screen, I have much more use for system server in comparison to you, but in real life there is no problem.
So, don't worry about this.

Instagram draining battery after 4.4.2 update

I've noticed that since the kit Kat update, my i9505 is having a huge battery draining caused by Instagram app. Even when the phone is on stand by, the battery stats shows that the App is draining almost 50% of battery. More than screen or Android Os together. Anyone knows how to fix this?
Thanks

Greenify the application. You may also try to go to application manager clear cache and data for this application. Restart the application. Simple rebooting may also help.

[Help] Battery Drain Problem

Hi All,
Everything was ok till the day before yesterday. But suddenly from yesterday I am facing a huge battery drain problem i.e. 1% per minute on my S4. I am running the latest version of Arrow Rom.
I did format everything and reinstall Arrow Rom but no luck. Then I restored my previous Stock CWM backup and again problem is same.
One more thing my phone's battery is taking too much time to full charge. It takes 5 to 6 minutes to charge 1%. Sometimes it takes more than that.Although my phone is only one year old. When Iam using phone for browsing or chatting with charger plugged in its not charging properly its decreasing.
Can anybody tell me what is the problem?

Your battery is more likely to be uncalibrated. Download Battery Calibration from Google Play and follow the steps on how to calibrate it. It requires ROOT. Any other things that can cause this are wakelocks, be careful what kernel you use. You can monitor wakelocks using Wakelock Detector from Google Play.
Or your battery might be a faulty one, check if its swollen

I don´t believe in calibration. It´s a balast...
How old is the battery?? Over one year? Buy new one.
Or try to use Wakelock detector and after results use Greenify

Use power saving mode install stock rom
Auto brightness
Format sd card
Remove unnessesary apps
Stop all unusual apps like google plus hangout and play books etc etc those you don't use.
Disable chrome use dolfin or other's.
If you are using custom kernel or mods like audio mod or performance mods don't use them.
Auto sync off when not needed
If these steps don't work then change the battery
For charging use 2amp charger with a 16amp socket
Use stock usb
Clean your battery's copper area with petrol and also clean your
Usb cable and ports sockets
Hope this will help
And I know my English is not good.

Android system draining battery.

Hello, today I noticed that my battery was worse than usual, so I checked what was draining it and android system was second after screen. It says stay awake 1h 15 min from total 1h 30min since full charge. It's already 80% with less than 1h sot, normally it is better. What can I do ?
Notice, I went to running processes, and software update was always running, even after stopping it it got open again. Also a strange one I never seen before, com.sec.android.app.keyguard , is always running.
Anyone? -_-

I has the exact same issue with my Sprint S3 (D2SPR) last year. The only thing that I could do to fix it was to flash the stock firmware with Odin. Nothing I did helped the battery drain. Are you familiar with Odin and flashing Samsung devices?

At the moment I rooted to use BetterBatteryStats and it shows that phone is not going to deep sleep.
Well, let's install a wakelock detector and see what shows up. Then, we can use a number of other apps to control the wakelock to prevent the high battery drain. You probably have a rogue app keeping your device awake. You can unintelligible each app one by one and monitor the battery list or install Better Battery Stats and it will tell you which apps have gone rogue and are killing your battery life. Do you have Facebook or Twitter or other heavy social media apps on your S3?

Yes I have but I always had those apps and I dont believe its their fault. Android system is first on the list, even higher that screen which I always had first. System is staying awake a lot. Now I formated and will see with wakelock detector what will show.
Cool. Lemme know how Wakelock Detector does and what it shows for wakelocks keeping your S3 awake.

BetterBatteryStats shows that phone went to deep sleep, only 1 minute is awake with screen off and this is good. Wakelock detector shows first place is google services, then 1013 ( don't know what that is ) and 3rd is android system. I have no apps installed only what it has preloaded.
If that's how Better Battery Stats shows what is happening I think a rogue app was causing your high battery drain. Install your apps one at a time and allow Better Battery Stats to run each time and see if the app causes high Android System drain. Glad it's not pulling your battery down. I think 1013 is what is shown for media scanning in some way.

Thank you for your patience and help sir, but unfortunately the problem continues. BBS still shows that phone is awake while not being used. Maybe less, but still it is. Anyway I will try a rom or something, or just leave it be. Thank you.
Give Aditya ROM a try and see how it runs. Put it thru it's paces and then let it rest for a while. Then take a look at the battery list and see what's there. It looks like a full featured ROM with plenty of new stuff. Just a recommendation. Let me know if I can help in any way.

No problem. Glad it seems to.be back to normal. When I had my Sprint S3 I had issues like this too. I would flash a custom ROM in recovery and then Odin back to a bone stock firmware and everything would be back to normal again. Good luck.
Factory reset your device. For me it helped and now Android System is only 11% and no app draining the battery. btw.. are you using black S3 Neo?
