root problem - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ive tried rooting my galaxy note 4 sm-n910f version by the guide here and it worked ive had superSU installed and used root required apps.
then for some reason after a week or so ive noticed that my phone isnt rooted anymore how can that be? ive check via "Root checker basic" app from the playstore and it says the device is not rooted.
and the superSU app is gone aswell.
ive tried to root it again 3 more times and it seems not to work...
what can be the problem?

Did you take an ota by any chance? That's all I can think of, if you did you might have to Odin stock again before you reroot

Ota over the air update. If you are rooted and accept/download an update to your phone it can cause this type of issue

You have not read anything?
Use the Modified CF-ROOT! And if SuperSU is not installed download it from market and reboot. And you have restored ROOT.
ME2 have the same locked Kernel as MDM therefore you need to use Modified CF-ROOT.

phones dont brick rooting... er.. samsungs at least.
Samsung phones can only be bricked by a bad bootloader flash. (with odin obviously, only safe way to flash bootloaders).
Anything else can be fixed by flashing back to stock samsung firmware.

Make sure ur on KitKat base. Then flash the cwm file from Odin. Untick auto reboot from Odin. After flashing remove battery and place it again. Then go in recovery mode directly via vol+ +power +menu. Then flash the suopersu file and reboot. Then open suppersu app and disable Knox. Then again flash supper su from recovery. None other methods will work in kk for rooting.
Thanks Gung raja. . Successfully Rooted My Phone

Since its 910C, it should be easy.
But remember, there is always a risk of bricking the phone.

There is a good chance that autoroot for 5.1.1 will works for 6.0.1
It happens with autoroot for 910H.
Or, you can just flash twrp using odin, flash bootloader using odin, and this rom using twrp.

Root installed but not active.

Hello everyone.
My phone did a self factory reset 2 weeks ago, and root was still there, but unsuable (if i accept or refuse, it will spam the pop up and will not do anything)
I flashed CF with Odin to root it again, but was stuck on samsung logo, even after 30min, so I removed battery.
After this, I'm kinda stuck. My internal storage (or the entire phone?) is on read-only, and I can't restorecon via adb because I don't have root permissions.
Should I flash this firmware on my phone to make it back to default? (root removed, internal storage still available and data not wiped)
Is there another solution?
Thanks !
If your phone was running a stock ROM, flashing the same stock ROM with Odin should leave the data intact.

I mentionned this ROM because it's the one (same PDA and CSC) that is on my phone. But will flashing this be able to remove the root?
Thank you !

I've smashed that thanks button, will flash the ROM on my phone and will come back for updates.
Quick update : flashing the ROM solved my problems with internal storage locked and root.
But I flashed the CF again, and it did the same problem.
Is it so old that there's no method to root a Note 3 4.4.2?
I managed to do it a long time ago, but don't remember what I've used.
Any help for that?
