[Q] Wifi problems - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi i am from india and i recently updated my note 4 and after i update i notice wifi issues.. some apps do not work.. say Facebook and g maps do not work with wifi and they say there is no network while with 3g i have no issue.. help needed in this regard thanks in advance

1. Make a backup of your data and factory reset your device (Settings - User and backup - Backup and reset - Factory data reset - Reset device - Delete all). Take a look if you have wifi. Go to next step if not.
2. Reflash this firmware through ODIN. Dial *#1234# when the process finish and tell me what appears (It will be better if you can add one screenshot)

I am very sorry. .. I just checked it again.. it actually appears as u say. .here I am attaching a screen shot....

Reset factory or Flashing another Stock ROM, IF u r sure this is the problem!
i mean maybe some problems with simcard or ...

u can search to see which firmware is more stable and then use it

What AP/CP/CSC? (output from *#1234#) What region was the phone bought from and what SIM are we talking here? What channel do you have your WiFi on?
(and for the moment don't do anything that might void your warranty - like writing stuff with Odin - it might be a bug and it might be covered by your warranty).

my Phone have:
AP: N9005XXUDMJ7
CP: N9005XXDUMJ7
CSC: N9005OLBDMK1
came with Region: XSP
I need also a CSC with Spanish, this one don't have spanish. The phone Have Knox 0x1, the only i need is the wifi work great with the SIM like other friends of mine here in cuba. if you can suggest me a safe firmware to flash and solve this problem ??

Sorry, I have no first-hand experience on that kind of configuration - I think N9005OLBDMK1 is supposed to be Singapore (which was supposed to come region-unlocked) and so is XSP (I believe Singapore unbranded).
My initial feeling was that you were seeing something related to region-locking or related to different WiFi channels between regions (some WiFi channels are present in US but not in the rest of the world).
WHAT AP/CP/CSC DO YOUR FRIENDS HAVE?
Since your knox flag is already 0x1 then I believe you can try some other regional or related MJ7 firmware (I do not think you can easily write pre-MJ7 firmware) - I believe the unbranded Spanish (EU) version is this one:

but regarding WiFi and 3G/4G bands it might be possible that some other ROM from your region might be better/closer (even some from US/Canada, but I would test those as last resort).
Maybe an even easier thing (given Knox 0x1) is to test with the latest Omega ROM (but be careful when you install it - install first a CWM and from there install Omega on a path where you first save the existing EFS first).

I tried flashing with PHE region and nothing all is the same, another information are when i put an O2 uk SIM all work great, i think to flash with same version of CHO (chile) it is correct??

Mobile data stops working

Hi. I have the N-9005 LTE version and randomly my data stops working. I can only see the up green arrow but no activity on the down orange arrow. There are no outages with my provider and data works fine on my tablet. In fact, rebooting the Note 3 gets the mobile data working again but it would stop working after a few hours or whenever. Anybody knows something about this? I don't want to do a factory reset again. I've already done this once when my calls had stopped working. I have a 3GB plan and yes my bills are all paid. I checked my APN as well and it's fine. It works when it does but randomly stops working. Any help appreciated.

This will not fix things but will help in diagnosing stuff:
*#1234# then check if there is any newer firmware for your N9005.

No, that looks like a good version, at this point you might need to look into other threads that talk about LTE signal (not only here but possibly in all the other Note3 forums and maybe even in S4 forums). Or hope that somebody that had the same problem stumbles upon this thread and posts more details.
Possibly also some info on the problem could be related to your carrier?

[Q]SHV-E330L( ks01ltelgt) cannot toggle 4G/3G/2G automatically?

I have a device : Galaxy S4 LTE-A LG (SHV-E330L, ks01ltelgt).
The Problem is:
This device does support the 4G of my carrier, but it cannot toggle to 4G automatically in my carrier's network.
I can only select 4G (LTE B3) manually in engineering menu (dial 319712358, password 0821), as you can see in image1.
And in this manually selected mode, I'm not able to call or to receive calls.

Selecting either "Automatic" or " LTE ALL" does not make any difference.

2. Verify that you have the latest firmware on your device. Download, unzip and flash this file via ODIN if not: HERE.
3. Go to Settings/Connections/More Networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names and add your APN carrier there.

2. I've checked that my CP firmware is the latest version while the other two are not. It takes time to update because I have lots of apps installed and it needs time to backup and restore.....
And I think the problem is on CP not the rest two..... if there is no other way, I will try to update the firmware.
3. I think the APN has no problem because if I choose LTE B3, the phone can access 4G network without any problem.

I don't think it would be easy like that.....
I have checked my firmware was released on July, 2014, though it's not the latest.
The latest was released on Oct.2014...where can I find the change list of the latest firmware?

Signal unstable one bar or no coverage

It's been a while since I've been having weak or no signal (one bar or maximum two everywhere all the time), the funny thing is showing the coverage bars even when there's no sim !

The firmware that you are using is a leak and the baseband is of android 4.4.2. It's normal that your phone is a lil bit crazy. Install this APP and add some screenshots for avoid problems and I will tell ya what firmware you have to flash via ODIN.
A device always shows coverage bars without a SIM. It's the Emergency Network. 112, 999, 911 or whatever your local equivalent is, you don't need a SIM to call the Emergency number.
Switch to GSM only mode. Sometimes in areas where coverage is weak LTE/Automatic mode doesn't work well.

You will have to flash one android Lollipop Firmware coz your bootloader is updated. Your CSC (country code) is BTU (UK) but doesn't have android 5.0 still. I recommend you flash this firmware for example via ODIN. Good luck and tell me how it worked for ya. Remember dial *#1234# when the flashing process finish and have to appear:

You still using a LEAKED Lollipop version. Install the Samsung info App of my first post and add some screenshots. Add links of other image share pages if you can't upload them here coz you don't have enough posts :highfive:
