My GPe m7 just got the update notification. I pulled the file from /cache, and here it is.
The SHA1 checksum is in the filename, bad1c593ad07005d8e82754c36caa7e7db9b6cc2. This is not a test release or a beta, so as far as I can tell, I'm the first uploader! My phone is the international m7, running 4.4.4.
NOTE: this is an OTA from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1. It requires the stock recovery from 4.4.4, and so will cannot be installed by people that rooted or manually converted their phone to the Google Play edition. (This means me, in fact. I can't install this! But I'm uploading it in the hopes that a developer can apply the patches manually and make a flashable ROM.) This includes firmware, so installing as a Nandroid backup may or may not work.
EDIT: people in this thread have already uploaded the file and are trying to install it. I suggest browsing there, because here in this thread we haven't figured it out yet!

Link has been changed to androidfilehost, so you can try again. And unfortunately, the installer requires the stock GPe recovery, version 4.4.4. Does anyone know where to find that? I found 4.4.2's recovery by searching the internet, but that doesn't help.

You need stock kernel, stock recovery and absolutely no changes in /system partition including root.
Oh, just to be precise - you can actually receive an update if you´re not fully stock but you won´t be able to apply it.
Edit: Philz recovery and root can be actually in place, tested that today.

OTA for German Retail version from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 started to roll out finally.

You can always GET an OTA but you won´t be able to install it in some scenarios.
Your system partition has to be mostly untouched, but root and Xposed Framework won´t cause any problem. You can use stock or Philz Recovery.
Also got the update but the installation is failing due to unexpected changes to build.prop. I have removed xposed and anything else I can think of that may have changed the system partition but still no go.
Any ideas? Maybe someone could post their build.prop?
I'm also getting the update in The Netherlands. Bought my phone online amazon.de

Yes, you have the right version of firmware for this OTA, don´t know why it´s failing for you, there´s too much variables, it´s hard to tell.
As to where the file I posted comes from - it´s right from my phone. Until today morning I was on French 4.4.4, then I flashed the German 4.4.2 firmware to look if I could catch the OTA and it really came, I pulled it from my /cache and posted here. Why so sceptical? Apart from a different dialer GUI, there´s not much difference you can really feel on 4.4.4, basically there are just some bug fixes.

Perhaps you need to uninstall and remove the modules and the xposed from the system before updating. Xposed and the modules add / modify system files and other sources in the device. Make sure you unroot as the last step as well. Stock recovery is required to install the OTA successfully

I've been able to upgrade and downgrade boot, recovery, fsg, and modem. I haven't tested radio, but 5.1 works fine with the existing radio so far.
I'm currently uploading my modem.img that was patched with the OTA files (since it didn't come in the 5.1 image), along with the rest of the files needed to upgrade to 5.1.
EDIT: Images + instructions posted in this thread.

Hi,
here is the flashable *.zip file wich installs latest Sony Bugfix Release of Stock 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM 23.4.A.0.570 (Japan), latest SuperSu v2.49 beta (works stable for me since weeks!) and latest NUT Dualrecovery 2.8.21 with read and write access to system. Because device is Wi-Fi only region doesn´t matter. Only difference is maybe pre installed bloatware by region.
Thx to PRF Creator and Flashtool.

No. The Checksum Creation is not needed and only optional at PRF Creator. Never needed it for myself.
I'd also like the MD5. After I download, I'll post it. But if anyone else already has it, please post.
Here's what I show:
d00b36c07fa696f5803eb7671be2c518
Obviously, it could have an error and be corrupted, but I expect it's right. I guess if I flash it OK, then we'll know.
Couldn't the "No service"in the lockscreen be fixed by a module in xposed, like Xperia Xposed? I know the author would have to add it, but there's no harm in suggesting it?

Just flashed .570 last night and this morning I'm not getting 5gHz Wi-Fi. My dual band router is serving both bands to other devices, so that works; it's successfully serving my SGP511 at 2.4gHz. Anybody else? More importantly, any ideas how to diagnose the problem (I'm stumped)?

You're being misguided here a little bit.
You will not be able to install dual recovery because you will not be able to gain root. Your device is having lollipop, so exploits used to for gaining root will not work in your case.
What you need to do is to downgrade from LP to some kitkat version where the exploits will work. Then you'll be able to install dual recovery and only after that you'll be able to flash pre-rooted lollipop.
To downgrade you need to use FTF from FTF collection (version prior to or equal 17.1.A.0.402)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2-tablet/general/ftf-collection-locked-unlocked-bl-t3061431

Flash service ROM native to your existing verison, but take only four partitions: system, kernel, recovery, modem (very important to have all 4 genuinly intact), and OTA will install easily. Use mfastboot to flash partition files.

But I wouldn't recommend to receive OTA. On unlocked bootloader you can install any custom ROM with vulnerability patched already.
Don't mix official, and non-official way to treat smartphone - kinda general advice. Latest OTA can break the security zone, and you'll loose ability to play with ROMs.
Advice on which ROM to try? Only thing I care about is the active display thing. So the must haves is active display or similar, and the ability to update without losing all my data. I'm not big on having to re-do everything, including my android wear settings/apps.
