[Q] Should i buy G2 without camera lens HELP - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, am htc fan, but after Sensation and One X, am tired of poor battery, am not willing to upgrate to htc one (m7) cuz of camera...
So i saw used LG G2 in very good condition but it's without camera lens (on pictures you can see like its broken or something, but i asked owner he said that there is no camera lens ... from pictures i can see it runs G3 Rom, and its probably rooted. https://www.kupujemprodajem.com/LG-G2-super-stanje-17559238-oglas.htm?filter_id=20998910 < thats link of it, pictures are included there. So what you suggest should i take it ? I mean if it doesnt have camera lens at all, will it hurt camera ? Will it make worser/better photos etc...
EDIT: i talked with him more, he said he removed that broken lens, so definetly there is no lens

210€ is too expensive.
You can find the LG G2 online as low as 240€ new, and the G3 for a little bit over 300€.

[Q] Blurry images

Hi
I have the lg g2 for a week and I have to say that's find it very hard to get good pictures, the colors are not great (seems like the camera is not taking the light well) and it is very hard to get non blurry images with any small movement in general and specially when starting to work with the zoom
I read in this forum that I should check if I have some bluish/purple coat on the lens (looks like a sticker) and I actually do have it but I did not understand if this is the cause of the problem and I should remove it or.....
I have to say that I am worried that this coat/sticker is to protect the lens from scratching.
Please help to someone that bought the camera because he read good reviews on the camera capabilities.
Thanks
Take the protective sticker off, it's only there to protect it while in transit. No major manufacturer would put something so flimsy on a device and expect you to keep it on there full time.
I don't know if that's what is causing your problems for sure though. My G2 takes some great pictures, I'm really impressed with how well it does in low light. Then again, I'm coming from a Droid Bionic, so camera technology has had a couple years to improve.

Veapot thank you for the prompt reply.
Before I am removing the coat I am attaching an image of this coat to make sure that this is what you are talking about before I am removing it.
Did you remove the same one? Because I have to say that if it should be removed the manufacture did not make it easy to remove ...
Thanks again
FWIW, I just looked at my g2 and it looks exactly the same so I just tried to remove what does look like a blue/purple clear plastic protector with no luck at all, I think the color is the colour of the body surrounding the lens! So I have not tried anymore as damage is the only likely outcome!

Front camera quality ? And rear camera quality ?

During the day ? And in low light situations?
I have read so many reviews and saw so many samples but none made me convinced because the different options everywhere... and about front camera I havent read about it anywhere
Plz advise

Coming from an HTC One the front camera is terrible. The wide angle lens on the One is much better IMO. However, the LG G2 has an awesome read camera. Great detail though kind of slow sometimes I found. And it is a bit cluttered as they are trying to be too much like Samsung.

The front cam is better on the One cuz of the big viewing angle. But, But, the rear cam is definetly better the UI is a bit like touchwiz but the image quality is great.

I agree the front camera is pretty bad... I came from the HTC DNA, and I feel it was better too.. my wife's iPhone 5 ffc is way better than my LG G2..
I don't use it that much so isn't really a big deal, but would have liked better quality..
Rear camera I am happy with.. like with any cell phone camera there are times I am impressed and times I am disappointed, but overall I am happy with the G2 rear camera.

S5 users - quick couple questions.

Hi all,
Just a couple of q's for the S5 crew.
I've bought a brand new LG G2 and the camera is gash. My trusty S3 wee-wee's all over it from a great height. Aside from that, the phone is an utter champion which makes it a tough choice..
Can anyone tell me the S5 camera sits up there with the best, and if I'd be happy with it's performance coming from the G2?
Help me XDA - you're my only hope.
To be honest I like every thing in the s5 except one thing .. the camera ... specially the front camera is **** and even **** is little word for the front camera it's a disaster the back one ether the s3 camera is better for me because my old phone was s3

I love my s5's camera, I think it's great.
Take a look in the pictures taken with s5 thread for some guidance

It depends on what you want out of a smartphone camera. The S5 takes incredible shots outside in good light. It's noticeably better than the G2 in those situations. But inside or outside in poor light, the shots are pretty lacking, and I prefer what the G2 provides overall. If you're only shooting still shots in low light and can hold the camera still for an extended period of time, the shots from the S5 can turn out decent sometimes, but all too often they look like oil paintings.
So, in my opinion, he S5 wipes the floor with the G2 in outdoor shots with good light. But in low light, the G2 provides better shots more often.

You have to decide what you want out of a camera. All smartphone cameras have weaknesses. The S5 camera has been widely praised as being superior. And it is in most circumstances. But it is weak in low light. While another phone may work very well in dim light but not be nearly as good as the S5 in daylight.
The S5 camera is very good unless low light shots are an important priority for you. And I have no idea what you meant by gash in this context. I looked in three dictionaries and none of them listed a meaning that would fit here. So it must be regional slang?

Gash = Crap :highfive:

front facing camera

So I got a g3 a few weeks ago. I read everywhere how great the camera is. The back one is, the front facing camera is awful. I'm not the tannest person in the world but the front camera makes you look ghostly almost. Even people with darker skin look pale. If I take a picture of myself on Snapchat or something I have to turn the phone the phone around. Is this a problem with the g3 or just my unit?

I find it makes me look pale or sickly, kinda washed out if you asked me. Quality or sharpness looks OK.

its a 2.1 megapixel front camera, how much performance do you really expect from it, other than the colours being a lil off, i have no issues with the front camera
Well i think the front facing camera works pretty well if you think that it is a 2.1 MP cam. I dont really have any problem but for sure it doesnt perform like the back one .
G4 improved the front cam but i dont intend to upgrade from G3 (yet )

[Q] Primary Camera

Hello all, i have a d802 (indian version) 16gb. I recently got my screen replaced at the lg service center and asked them about my primary camera showing hazy photos. I had done some research prior to asking (about the camera having a purple film which can be removed). When i asked the service technician about this film he said my phone doesnt have it and i will have to get the whole camera replaced to get normal photos. Is this true? Do i not have the purple film that can be washed off with cleaners (tried using acetone and toothpaste to remove the film but that didnt work).
Will i have to get the camera changed or is there anyway to get around me spending $50 and have my camera like it was before.
Id also like to add that when i look at the camera i do see a purplish tinge. Lots of scarthes too.
