Thanks for your response. I was hoping for more constructive ideas to keep me on Android especially from a senior member. All the more reason to move back to iOS.

First off if your note 4 lags you have a defective one. i have had a retail and now a developer edition neither one lags at all. both phones fly. therefore not wasting my time with somebody that doesnt have a clue what they are talking about. go enjoy your iphone failure

Well I have the 6 Plus and Note 4. I can do things just as quickly on the Note as on the iPhone. The only lag on my Note is the recent apps button which almost everyone has mentioned by now. The iPhone also isn't perfect. I've had a few iOS apps freeze on me and I'd have to close the app in order to fix it.
Idk. People like to hate on touchwiz since it's seen as a bloated, lag infested skin. I'm no fan of it, but TW isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. My Note 4 has been running like a champ and I'm happy with it.

Well, I'm not going to try and convince you to stay with Android. Life is full of choices. You made the choice to go with Android for I assume good reasons. Now you want to go to iOS. because your phone is experiencing something none of the rest of us are experiencing. I won't even try to diagnose your lag problem because it can be so many different things (apps installed, network connection, widgets running, a misbehaving app, available memory resources etc). But if you've eliminated all the things that could cause you lag and your phones still lags, then yes, it is probably a bad phone. Have you done a Factory Reset and run the phone without any user apps installed to see if lag persist? If you'd rather have an Android phone then I'd try to exchange my Note 4 for a different one before going to iOS. They have their problems too, and very little customization and flexibility. If you like what "Big Brother" forces you to conform to, then go to iOS. Have fun. It's another choice in a life full of choices...some are good, and some are not so good.

You didn't ask for ideas/advice. You just said "I'm going back to the iphone and here's why". Did you expect everyone to jump up and say "no don't!!!1!!1" and try to convince you not to switch?

Lag, I'm sick of it. My Note 4 Verizon lags constantly. I've tried suggestions on this forum short of rooting that made subtle but no meaningful differences. Its a shame as a I prefer the flexibility of Android.

Iphone 6/6 plus are good phones. Nothing wrong with that. I'd say it's a matter of what you want and/or need to do on the phone. The iphones are definitely more smooth with animations and a bit better performance. For me, having the homescreen widgets, greater customization options, and the ability to use hotspot with my unlimited verizon out-weight the polished albeit limited experience on the iphone. I have played with new iphones and I like them, just prefer android.

Htc Evo With iOS4

Is it possible to put iOS4 on the evo and have a dualboot one for Android and the other for iOS4
No iOS is not open source
Thanks anyways
now why would you want to kill a perfectly good phone?
really.. spend the money and get an iPhone if that's what u want to do

The iphone is one cheap silicone case away from being very very good hardware. Just buy an iphone (and a cheap case) if you want ios.
why would anyone in their right mind want to poison their evo with apple's software???
No is just good to have different things on a phone
What is it about iOS4 that you can't get on the EVO/Android? My brother has the iPhone4, & there is nothing he has that i couldn't find in the Marketplace.
If you're looking for something specific, i'm sure you can find an Android version of it.
Don't kill the OP
Come on guys, it's a legit question (even if it might seem pretty blasphemous to us). As for the original question, if you want to dual boot, there's potential to put any Open Source OS on just about any hardware. If you want to have a closed source OS (like iOS, WinMo, WebOS, Blackberry OS [oh dear God WHY?!], Mac OSX Leopard, etc...) on your hardware, you'll pretty much have that pre-installed on the device. That's why you can put Android onto the HTC HD2, but you can't put WinMo 6.5 on the EVO 4G.
Bottom line, if you want iOS4 + Android, you'll have to buy an iPhone if you even want a chance. I don't think they have it working yet, but I know they've ported Froyo to the older hardware, so it might just be a matter of time.
Forum reeks of fanboyism. Simple question required a simple answer. The evo is far from a perfect phone... If that was the case.. I wouldn't have to root it and play tricks on my battery just to make it last longer than 5 hours. Android wouldn't be where it is today if it wasn't how iOS changed the way we look at smart phones. And apps that aren't on the android? bejeweled 2, angry birds, words with friends, a half decent facebook app, espn score center is terrible on the droid as well... I could go on... Both phones have their flaws.but I can see why the interest in wanting a dual boot phone. more than likely not happening anytime soon if not at all.

right, out of the 85k apps in the market place, absolutely none of them are good for anybody whatsoever, which explains why no one downloads anything from the market anymore, and also explains why android is definitely not catching up to iOS.

You know, you don't have to be an Apple fanboy (or girl) to want to see if this can be done. It's like trying to solve a puzzle. I really wouldn't want an iphone, but hacking iOS4 onto an Android phone would be fun. And, there are some apps for the iphone that don't exist in the Android Market.
BTW, I have a Dell Mini 9 that runs Snow Leopard just fine. Am I in love with Apple? Not really, though I have an iMac, as well as Windoze boxes and Linux, too. I'm posting from Linux on my dual boot Aspire One, wirelessly tethered to my Evo. I think I'm gonna try the Ubuntu hack for my Evo next. It's all about choices.

Why is it so hard to hack the samsung devices?

Im curious to know, samsung devices always take longer in developing roms, htc devices are super fast and get the roms within weeks, im seriously considering buying a galaxy s 2 but im sure samsung will put their HORRIBLE iphone wannabe ui touchwiz in it , and i wanna get rid of it ASAP ,why do rom development takes longer? is it because not that many developers have samsung devices or because they are just harder to hack?
There is no cracking, perhaps we can say hacking...
And HTC devices were the ones choose by google to run a dev rom (on nexus 1), now it's samsung...
Just wait..
And, touchwiz is far far from iphone ui, and on any device you can choose another launcher, in the market, without any "cracking".
And, that thread is a question... so it should be in...? In....? Questions !!!! Yeeees ! First learn how to search, read, only after that you can "crack"..
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
This should be in Q&A.
Samsung ROMs are much harder to developer for because Samsung took Android and changed everything they could get away with. All the internals of the Android system has been changed in some way. This is why the guys porting CyanogenMod have run into a spot of trouble. Also HTC phones have been on the market much longer then the Galaxy S so there all fairly similar which speeds up the development process.

Im sorry... but i dont think its that similar to the iphone UI
I know the application menu is similar....but there is only so much you can do with that set up...Plus you can change the way you view your apps in the galaxy s...
Also the camera..... seriously apple did not create that design....i had a LG touchscreen phone before the iphone came out ( im pretty sure about that lol) that had a similar camera interface to that....saying samsung stole that from apple is ridiculous.
Some aspects are similar but the interface is hardly a rip-off

Yeah I'm all about the list view, it's at least alphabetic unlike that messy grid. It takes a bit to whip from top to bottom, but all I really do in there is get at things I hardly ever use or fetch something to put on a home screen.

So using your logic the iPhone ripped off the UI from Blackberry, right? Apps on the home screen, notification bar on the top...
Samsung has a phone that is actually easy to hack. No signed firmware, no trick needed to load anything.
But it seems the HTC devices have a larger community. Not strange, because the first Android phone was a HTC, and the original users and hackers have probably moved on to another HTC.
I do not know the mood in other forums, but I feel that plays a part too. Developing is something to do together, not something that a person does because others are demanding it or anything. Also something to be rewarded for (thanks, updates, extensions, people writing documentation and translations, etc).
I think with a better community we could figure out the possibilities of the command line of the SBL and maybe even boot images from external SD. Like done on the Kathrein satellite receiver where a third boot loader is used in place of a normal kernel, and that can load from external storage. And a better community will protect against shouters that say 'you killed my phone'.
However it is like it is. Not because it is impossible, but because of some other reason. Probably mostly consumers, and not hackers, are buying this phone. Because there is not a strong community, it doesn't have the mind share.

[Port] New SDK? NO PROBLEM

r2doesinc got the new Honeycomb SDK working on the Dinc. Data working, properly scaled and everything.
There still is hope for a viable honeycomb port for our phones.

SDK ports are garbage. Anyone who actually wastes time working on them is not all that smart. Nuff said. BTW, when are people gonna stop promoting for r2, getting tired of constantly seeing a new thread about him and his work.
I'm really not seeing the point in this port.
Agreed. Honeycomb is not meant for phones, period.... Will people stop wasting their time on something that is pretty much pointless? This is like shoe horning an elephant into a stroller... Why bother?

Some people enjoy having an extremely large resolution, like me for instance. I would love to see this fully functional, as I usually change my density to a rather large resolution so as to make things smaller and have more screen space.
I'm a rom-whore, and I'm damn proud of it
If you read my threads and ask the devs, you will find that I set up bounties, and donate unlike most freeloaders on these forums. And I help some devs test their roms/kernels. My opinion is based on a desire to have our phone be a really cool dev platform but not go in directions where devs try their best to please 4 or 5 ill informed people and then give up. That would just lead to disenchanted devs. I don't think most of us want that...
By the way, I have an iphone, and will be getting a webOs tablet too. You know why? Because its pointless to be faithful to one thing when you can learn from many... Monogamy is meant to be practiced with a spouse, not a gadget... I'm not a fan of any. Just a shameless user of all.
Edit: and I have a galaxy tab

Adjusting the DPI is a personal preference and doesn't change the overall resolution. In my opinion our screens don't really benefit it because the overall size and resolution is small.
A device like the Tab which is scaled like a cellphone screen benefits from the DPI adjustment since it has a much greater screen resolution.
Dell Streak is a fine example of why DPI adjustment isn't needed. Things just aren't right because of the 480x800 screen.

Don't know why ppl always bashing the iPhone...for what it is it does it well..solid construction, great battery life, very good camera, tons more apps and games than android, sharp screen, and the best support (connectivity and accessories). Only downside to me is the small screen. If the iPhone 5 comes to sprint and with at least a 4 inch screen, I would trade my evo in a heartbeat. For a multimedia phone, it practically does everything well.

Sorry man but a phone that needs a rubber band around it or a special grip to get a signal doesn't fall under good construction to me. And I also hate how Jobs uses old technology and claims its revolutionary with each build. I think I hate Jobs and all his douch fallowers more than the iPhone itself. Just my 2 cents though. To each his own
Edit: and you can't really say multimedia without flash player.....

The problem with iPhone is iOS. Even after a JB the possibilites are far less than a stock unrooted Android. The reason most people root Android is not to enable certain things they were locked out of, but to run (and experiment with) custom roms.
Out of the box you can do tons with Android, like changing keyboards, launchers, photo galleries, handlers for sending files, widgets and tons more, that would never be possible on iOS.
iPhone + iOS is a synergistic combo that's very well designed, great usability, battery life and exceptional support from app developers and 3rd party accesories. But it is not a platform for people who like to customize their devices or need more control, and those limitations are not going away anytime soon.
Does every topic on these forums have to turn into flame fests about the iPhone or Sprints network or just general trolling?
Damn dude.

A Brilliant simulation launcher exactly like the Iphones UI....Boring as hell
Well done to the developer for creating such an accurate launcher
if you want iPhone's UI, I think you'd better get an iPhone.
I just hate this "memory game" UI
Sorry just me being sarcastic...
Basically to explain my post, the UI is boring as hell, why on earth would you want to get an Iphone
If you like this you could also try Espier launcher (free on market)!
Aah got bored just watching it
Once ICS is here I guess cant be bothered with all this launchers.....
Cool thanks guys seriously today i was really in a mood of ios n installed MIUI and with these launchers my dream is true

i dont really get people that want their android phone to look like iphone. Apart from in my personal opinion android looks better the obvious answer is if you want to look like iphone buy a damn iphone.
(same thing with people whinging they want the GS2 to look like HTC sense but thats another can of worms)
I wasn't and never would but thanks for sharing.

I wholeheartedly agree
i had an iphone before my samsung galaxy s2 !
but i have to say, that iphone is boring now, because the style is always the same ! this was the reason why i bought the samsung galaxy! When you look at the new Iphone 4s you'll see no new style, only the inside life is new, but design is an important point for me !
I'm back to 4S and happy.
Tired of cheapness of os and non-stop glitches and bugs.
Let the flaming commence.
