[Q] Status Bar Battery Percentage - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was just wondering that if we could enable the Battery percentage on the status bar persistently in Android 5.0 CM 12. I noticed that the battery percentage shows on the status bar when charging only on the lock screen not persistently i am attaching the screen shots. If anyone could tell me how to enable the battery percentage persistently it would be great i want the battery percentage persistently and always on the status bar but sadly only on the lockscreen when charging battery percentage comes on and when i unlock my phone it vanishes. so please tell me how to enable it persistently i really like battery percentage present beside the battery bar. And please dont tell me to install 3rd party apps. I want to enable it from the System. And we can enable it because its coming in the lockscreen so it should come on the status bar persistently also. NOTE: I dont like the battery percentage being showed IN the battery bar i like it to be separated like on the lock screen in the screen shot attached. please dont post methods about the IN BATTERY BAR PERCENTAGE.

Perhaps it's just not fully implemented now. Wait for a few more builds and see what happens.
P.S. I also like the number to be outside of the battery bar. Can't understand why many people like it the opposite way.
EDIT: May I ask where d'you find the battery percentage option in CM12? Even in the newest build the personalization options are scarce.

yeah i guess we'll have to wait then... and i didn't find the option of any battery bar percentage and it does not stay persistently on the status bar.. it just comes up on the lockscreen ONLY and ONLY when charging... it should come up constantly. its a deal breaker that it doesnt comes up constantly.. I think we should give the heads up about this to dhacker so he can enable this feature in his next build? because im running Dhacker's CM12 build on my Razr M.

This is mostly CM upstream stuff, just wait for CM to implement that. At this moment dhacker is more focused on bug squashing so features will have to wait. Plus, a clean CM build will have as few cherry-picks as possible.

Anyone else bothered by NO quick auto-rotate switch?

On my Nexus 7, the quick settings drag-down menu has auto-rotate lock, but my Nexus 4 does not. Both are running Android 4.2.1.
Is anyone else bothered by the fact that there is no quick way to lock and unlock your screen orientation?
Or if there is, please let me know!
You can use an app for that, if it isn't a problem - Power Toggles. It has a slightly different behaviour - as far as I know, the native auto-rotate toggle locks the display in its current orientation, whereas Power Toggles only seems to be able to set it to portrait and leave it that way.
That's the quick'n'easy way, otherwise, there may be a mod for the same purpose.

yes the double slide shows the quick settings for wifi, gps, etc.. on nexus 4 there is NO auto-rotate whereas on nexus 7 there is.
Just got my N4 a few weeks ago and this lack of foresight bugs the hell out of me. Is is plausible to extract the auto-rotate quick setting toggle from the N7 factory image and build that into a custom, modified stock, 4.2.2 ROM?
If you're saying to yourself "seems like a lot of work for something with such little use," spare us all the comment. Little details are the most important IMHO.
Use an app named power toggles
Here's a screenshot of my setup.

I've got power toggles installed. But it's redundant and not what I'm looking for.

If you're willing to, just flash a custom ROM such as PA which has it built in. Being a Nexus, most ROMs are very close to stock in most ways.

Pull down notification bar in every situation

Hey there,
I'm used to pull down the notification bar from any possible app (even games) on the sgs3.
I noticed it isn't possible on the nexus... Is there any mod or something for that? :/
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
its sdk functionality. if an app requests the statusbar should be hidden the framework has to do that in order to not get in the way of gestures and swipes on which the app relies. if touchwizz ignores that it would be a pretty evil abuse, something that should get them in legal trouble. i dont think it would be hard to realize but i know of no mod or rom who's got that.
Oh I see thank you very much for the explanation.
I got pretty used to it as it was really convenient checking my notification bar without minimizing my current app. (Change music, brightness , GPS etc....)
Oh well will have to get used to it then.
Thanks for the reply again

Miui allows this. I expect we'll get a miui rom eventually.
For the time being you could use this app:

I use it and it works great

Why would anyone use Cyanogenmod on Nexus 4?

Since Nexus 4 runs on stock Android, what does Cyanogenmod offer as an extra?
Quiet hours and volume wake are simple features that I miss when on stock. There are many other changes.

I haven't tried it yet, but some report that Bluetooth MAP works with CM 10.1 and probably 10.2. That is something that cannot be achieved with an app, or that I've found, with a mod.

LED control & pulse battery light, custom toggles, expandable desktop with PIE, center clock, battery percentage icon, theme chooser, privacy guard, built in file manager, dsp manager, reboot menu, navigation ring slider shortcuts, lock ring slider shortcuts, custom lockscreen background, sliding across the status bar to adjust brightness, quick message pop up, volume wake, profiles, cm clock, tunable kernel etc etc
Sexy Nexy, AOKP
While people will tell you CM sucks in terms of features compared to what other ROMs offer, I think it has the most useful and best implemented features, even though it doesn't have every little tweak and customization that other ROMs do. There are hardly any reasons not to use cm; there are so many advantages. I couldn't get by on stock because of the lack of features.

Yeah, pretty much. Those two, Carbon, AOKP, all AOSP ROMs with different customization options and features. I'm partial to AOKP myself.

This should help, an infographic of features in the popular ROMs:

A very simple answer would be: to be able to customize. There are a lot of ROMs out there, pick the one that satisfies you in any way of customization.

This is an addition to what people said why you should use cm of other roms can be somed up in one word. "stability" cm has a record for being a robust rom with alot of support. Most roms don't have that.

Your Wishes for KitKat (4.4)

What are your Wishes for ParanoidAndroid 4.4 apart from HYBRID, PIE and Halo, which will come for sure?
(This is no official thread, but it might inspire the team behind PA)
Major Enhancements:
Enhanced Theme-Engine
Lock Screen Notifications
Kangs:
No sound, when you change the volume. (CM)
Volume buttons control media volume only. (CM)
Enhanced Power-Menu [Recovery, Downoad] (CM) #26
Volume Keys for Cursor Movement (CM) #15
Stock Statusbar Icons (AOSP) #11
Other Features:
Hybrid Engine: Rotation on per-app basis #7
Faster Switch between PIE and Navigation Bar #22
***
Enhanced 'Quicksettings' #6, #15
Enhanced 'Quiet Hours' #6
App-Ops: Ability to manage Network Access (Wi-Fi, Mobile Data) #3
Features, unlikely to be included (PA's Goals to stay near to Stock, Google CTS)
Multi-Window/Multi-Tasking #25
Auto kill on exit #26
Thank you +ParanoidAndroid** for your hard work
(** Links to Google+ removed due to Restrictions)
I can tell you one of those things is being worked on
I'd love App privacy to also manage network access :fingers-crossed:

App privacy is currently available by exposing Google's App Opps implementation.
We'll see if they release it themselves for 4.4
I'd like improved quiet hours: the ability to silence phone calls, set different times for weekends/weekdays, quiet hrs qs toggle and for important contacts/ two calls in a set time period to ring the phone loudly. Also I'd like the ability to have 4 qs toggles in a row. Other then that thanks so much for this wonderful rom and keep up the amazing work
I think per app auto rotation control will be a good addition to the hybrid engine.

It is under consideration, Hybrid 3 has been written to be easily extend. I think its a great feature and would use myself, however an app can override the system settings and this covers most use cases: video, e readers etc
I have seen CM has fixed the problem where going into Recent Apps sometimes shows you a minimizing animation of previously opened app, although the app isn't in app switcher.
Even the stock Android has that problem. I'd like to have that fix in PA also.

Yes I agree. Does anyone know why PA uses these instead of the stock ones? Seems odd considering that PA strongly supports the android design guidelines and keeping things as close to stock as possible.

They were changed to work with PAC (per app color). The stock ones are opaque and the color feature looks nasty on them. The new ones are more transparent to work better with PAC. But yeah, I agree. They don't look the same. I'm sure with all the kk leaked images showing white icons, there gonna have a nice chance to remake them

Any under the hood performance enhancements forked from Linux?
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
My feature requests:
-Use Volume keys to move cursor r/l as in CM
-Battery charging light as in CM-
-In PA 3.99 or in PA 3+ generally, the QS Tiles are smaller or a part of the very top Quicksettings-Tiles-row is missing. That looks very strange! Please fix it so that it looks like in "original" Android so that you can see 4 rows of QS-Tiles when you switch to them, and not also the upper part of the Tiles in the fifth row!
Then I'd use this ROM as my daily ROM instead of CyanogenMod as HALO and the Hybrid Engine is so great!
