Hello,
I have a lg g2, i had it rooted and i presume lg came with an update.
I tried installing the update but was stuck with the "boot certification error".
After some research i tried to follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48765620#post48765620
I could get into twrp menu, and i believe i used the option reboot as i thought it was fixed. I came into the lg logo boot stuck problem, i can still (with alot of tries) acces the twrp menu, but im not sure what to do now, is my data gone(because then its easy i hope with an factory reset), if not how can i try to fix my phone so i can access the data to atleast make a copy on my pc or fully restore the phone to its previoues state.
Thx for reading, if you need information and/or i missed some information please let me know
so please help me, as i got now a htc one x with broken screen and i despratly missing my g2! ^^

So I have a LG G2 D802 that I rooted, then installed CWM and Mahdi ROM on. I had been having a lot of trouble with SuperSU not installing correctly after I installed the rom (had no issues with SU or CWM prior to installing custom firmware) so I decided to try a factory reset to see if that would help. Because I couldn't figure out how to get into recovery mode without going through ROM Manager, which didn't work any more since SuperSU wasn't working correctly, I tried doing a factory reset through the settings menu. After waiting about half an our to complete, I figured an error had a occurred and forced the handset to restart (in hindsight probably a terrible idea, but I couldn't think of anything else to do).
Now when I boot the phone, it gets past the LG logo to the boot animation and stays there. I worked out how I should be able to get to recovery but that only gives me the ability to factory reset the LG way (and pressing any other button besides power causes the menu to freeze) and when I try to factory reset again it just sits there, not progressing like it did before.
Now I have absolutely no idea what I can do, since recovery mode is inaccessible I have no idea what I could possibly do to fix it. Any help or advice at all would be GREATLY appreciated.
U should flash stock rom via pc, follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

This is almost embarrassing to post, but I need some help...
I have the T-Mobile G2, btw, which was rooted and with TWRP 2.6.3.3
So I was installing an AOSP ROM, and like a dumbass, instead of installing gapps like I meant to do, I accidentally flashed Smikey's KitKat ROM on top of Cyanfox. I realized it too late to stop it, and once the flash finished, I did a wipe of everything but internal storage and tried to restore a backup of CloudyStock. When I rebooted it goes to the LG screen with a secure boot error, and then a black screen where you can still see the backlight if you tilt the phone.
I tried using the LG Mobile Support tool to go back to stock, (It will go into download mode), but I can't get it to push any of the three stock images to the phone.
Holding down and power to do a hardware reset doesn't work either.
Help!!!
I picked up a cheap Tmobile prepaid to use until I get this figured out, but I want my G2 back! Does anyone have any advice at all, or did I brick my phone beyond repair?
I forgot to mention, I'm not sure if it's the phone or the drivers aren't properly installed on my computer, but LG Mobile support tool is reading my phone as a V500...

Anyone know if this method for unbricking the Optimus G will work?
Had not rooted this device before, I installed autorec.
Rebooted and flashed:
xdabbeb_vs98025b_bootstack.zip
Wiped everything (including internal storage :/) then rebooted back into recovery to install:
xdabbeb_vs98025b_lg_apps.zip
TWRP recovery works, Download mode "seemingly works" but LG flash tool never finds the port the device is on and I dont see a spot to change the COM in device manager, Sideload & push work just fine to put roms on the device.......but no matter what I flash it will not get past the LG logo, is there a bootloader issue?
everything pushed or sideloaded, transfers fine to the device and installations are successfull...but I never get past the LG screen
what are my options, somehow use the LG flash tool to go back to the default verizon install file and get user data back?
I have to go to a party but hopefully I can figure this out. I apologize if this has been solved many of times, but I dont seem to find an answer that works....
i got the same problem as of yesterday too.however i was rooted and i accidentally pressed the over the air update install button im stumped on what to do, because i dont want to wipe the internal storage.

Click to collapse
I simply followed the install instructions and put 2.0.0/25a on on the phone instead...works....
One of my friends was having me try to fix or at least recover data from her Verizon G2- it's been stuck on the LG screen for about a week, can still go to recovery/download/other basic screens but that's it, all she did was put it in her pocket and it stopped working. Unfortunately I'm REALLY new to anything Android (please forgive me if I'm using terminology incorrectly!) so I've been lost trying to work this out.
I found out today that she went ahead and got a new phone altogether but she asked me to pull the data from this one. Before this I've tried using LGFlashTool to reset the phone without removing the data, but every way I've gone about doing that has told me that "there was an error connecting to the device" or something along those lines, same in Alligator Toolkit 3.1 and even Windows Device Manager.
At this point I just need to get the data from it, but it's not rooted so I can't install TWRP (not sure about any alternative recoveries), and I can't root it because it hasn't been able to get past the aforementioned screens.
Is there a way to basically just copy all the data on the phone to a computer without a recovery, rooting it, or anything like that? Or is there any way I can install a recovery like TWRP?
Another thing is that strangely last night I managed to make it turn on and work properly, but when I finally decided that it did work and went to unplug it and put it away, it went straight back to the LG screen. I'm not really sure what I did to get it to work that time but I haven't been able to make it happen again.
Sorry if any of this is unclear, I'll be up late available for any clarifications. Thanks in advance for the help!
Yes this post is correctly dated. I've had this device a LOOOONNNGGG time.
The device has been rooted since shortly after I bought it new years ago. I've had very few problems since... which is why it's never been replaced.
I believe I have the stock ROM, sorry it's been a while.
When I start the device it gets stuck at the splash screen with the sprint logo.
I can get the device to "download mode" but I don't know what to do once there and I'm not sure I can do anything from here.
I can get the device to "android system recovery."
I know I installed TWRP when I rooted and installed the rooted ROM but when I boot to recovery it doesn't go there.
I've wiped the "cache partition" but the problem remained. I'm not sure what else to do from here and still be able to salvage data.
I'm trying to salvage the data on the internal storage. I'm pretty sure I could successfully "wipe data/ factory reset" and get it to "function" again but that's not the priority. I'm going to replace it regardless of success or failure. Data recovery is the priority here. (pictures and videos of my young children as well as less important stuff like contacts.)
I have an old laptop with an old version of ubuntu I can use or a newer one with windows 7 to work with. I mention this in case it makes this easier to help?
Thank you very much if you try to take a stab at this or refer someone that might!
Update:
So I managed to install TWRP via Odin.
I booted to this recovery and my data partition appears to be empty?
When I try to back up I get the error message "unable to mount '/data'"
I tried doing a wipe, not one of the fancy extra options ones just the regular wipe and it failed.
Any guidance will be extremely appreciated.
Edit:
So I've come to the conclusion that the data isn't accessible because of encryption and my pass code. Is there any way to enter it via recovery and access this info?
Is anybody out there?
Edit 2:
I hope this helps someone someday. I haven't solved the problem but I think I'm making progress.
First I had an old version of TWRP. I installed the latest for my device and tried backing up again. I'm not sure but I think it's working. TWRP dosen't seem to need my password for the backup. I imagine I'll just need it to access the data later.
Edit 3:
No sooner did I save the last edit and my backup failed.
Process ended with error : 255
