Please can someone help me.
I have recently changed from vodafone to virgin & ported my old vodafone number to new virgin sim.
My phone is showing my virgin number but when people call me on my old number the call comes through but for some reason my voicemail does not kick in when i miss a call a message comes up saying the number you are calling is unavailable.
But when i ring my voicemail it says it is setup & working.
Does the fact that my phone is showing my now cut off virgin number have anything to do with this.
IF SO HOW DO I CHANGE MY NUMBER TO SHOW UP CORRECTLY IN CALL SETTINGS.
Thank you.
Hello folks,
A while back, I managed to get AT&T to block network data on my mobile line.
Shortly thereafter, I purchased an unlocked HTC Touch in Europe and experienced no problems receiving/making calls in the U.S. Inserting my AT&T SIM was plug-and-play, for lack of better words.
During a recent trip to Europe, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S4. After inserting my AT&T SIM, I can not receive/make any calls.
I have bars, get a Voice Mail notification, as well as a 'Not registered to network' message. I am also unable to register to the AT&T networks the phone searches and finds...
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!
apn settings would not stop registration.. maybe the phone was a black listed imei that went to europe and you bought it and are trying to use it here.
what is the model number.

you got screwed dude. the phone has bad esn and they blocked the phone already. sorry to hear
Isn't this the "region Locking" that Samsung has been getting flack for lately? If you buy a phone in EU, you have to register it in EU with an EU SIM (Any EU SIM if it an unlocked phone) initially. After that, I think you can then use ATT SIM if the phone is unlocked. It doesn't always work though and people are mad
I am assuming you bought an unlocked phone in EU
Google "SAMSUNG Region lock"
Could be the radio IC blown. That's what happened to my phone, which has a perfectly-fine IMEI (not blacklisted).
See this thread. I'm about to get my phone back from the factory today.
I've read through the forums and see that it's possible to use the Verizon note 3 on tmobile network. I want to use mine on the MetroPCS network. My question was is has anyone switched theres from Verizon to metro pcs and if so what are the steps involved?

Answer + another question
Hey there. I'm going to try and answer your question and then ask another related question.
I recently bought a 900v from eBay with the intention of using it on MetroPCS and then in Europe after a few months when I move. I'm currently using an international Note II on MetroPCS which works fine.
To answer: In theory, as far as I know, all you need to do to get your Verizon Note 3 to work on MetroPCS is get a plan and SIM card from them (they will need to register your phone's IMEI to the SIM card since they lock individual SIM cards to individual phones). After this, go to Settings > More networks > Mobile networks and change preferred to 'global'. You will also need to input the proper network name and APN (Settings > More networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names). From here it should work.
Ok, now my question for whoever might know something about it. Since I bought my Note 3, I went to a MetroPCS store and had them change the registration from my old phone's IMEI to the Note 3. They did that, we switched the SIM and did what I wrote above and voice and text worked, but no data. The guy working there didn't know what to do, so I decided to have him just switch it back to my Note II and I'd take it to the better resourced 'corporate' store later.
In the meanwhile, I rooted and did what I needed to flash JasmineRom 2.4.1. Went fine and everything seemed to work fine. Then I took it to the corporate store. They tested it with a tester SIM first (not locked to a particular device) but couldn't get it to connect to a network and then the same with my SIM (which had worked before at least for voice). I just get the notification: "Phone Activation - This SIM card is from an unknown source."
Does anyone know if the phone has to first be somehow Activated with Verizon before I can change it to global and use other GSM networks? If so, how would I go about doing that as I'm not on Verizon, nor have I ever been. I have a friend who uses Verizon who might be able to help me activate it if really necessary, but if there's another way, do please let me know. If this problem has nothing to do with activation, and there's something else going on, I'm all ears as well. Thanks.
Problem solved for MetroPCS connection.
Just wanted to update that my problem was solved with no more trouble than calling MetroPCS (888 8METRO8) to have them register my old MetroPCS SIM card to my new device (Verizon Note 3). I had already played around with GSM and global modes and had manually input the APN and network name prior to calling. I had also tried to activate using *228 but that didn't seem to work... not sure if that is important but it was something I had done (with the MetroPCS card before calling).
To the OP: did you get yours working?
Edit: I suppose it is also worth mentioning that I didn't have to change any settings and I'm getting 4G LTE on MetroPCS.
So to confirm, it is possible to connect the Verizon note 3 to METROPCS network and get 4G LTE SERVICE. Will I need to adjust APN settings through the phone? Do I have to use a separate program to change those settings?
I'm going today to try to set this up. Thanks for the responses.

Ok everyone I have a question in reguards to using a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Metro PCS. I've been getting the run around from Verizon and Metro. What I've done so far is got Metro PCS to type the Note 3's IMEI number in their computer to activate the phone (like they do with every phone). I put the SIM card in the Note 3, and it said something like "SIM card is from an unknown source" (it's not reading the SIM). The phone wouldn't work. No service despite them activating the Note 3 on my account. They told me to go to metro store, so I did and we tried a new SIM card and everything and it still didnt read it. I keep seeing people say we need to change the APN, but what are we specifically supposed to write in the APN box? Also, I see people saying metro has to do something with the SIM card, what exactly do they have to do? Can someone please help, and please give me the exact steps as to what I have to do to get my Note 3 activated and working with MetroPCS. I havent had a phone to use in days because of this bullcrap please help!

From recollection I believe the number for your phone and voicemail is provisioned by your sim. Look at the sim and see if you can change the number. It may be hidden I'd settings or dev options also.
Hello. I have an old Samsung Note3 Verizon SM-N900V. I have it unlocked running Android 10.
I want to use this with a PrePaid Card, but does not seem to be available. Does anyone know how to make this work?
The only providers I know that "Could" work are Total Wireless or Straight Talk.
Both Nt10wireless & TotalWireless when I enter the IMEI, it says:
IMPORTANT MESSAGE! Our partners are upgrading their network and your phone is not compatible with the new technology.
on Verizons prepaid activation, when I enter the IMEI it says:
Oops, Looks like your device is no longer supported on our network.
Does anyone know if there is any hope to get this working?
