Hi;
I have SG s4 mini duos with xxubnb1 firmware 4.2.2 (PDA: I9192xxubnb1; phone: I9192xxubnb1; CSC: I9192OJVBNB1).
I'd like to root without trip KNOX.
I tried several methods without success:
-saferoot not compatible phone (only MK4 i9192)
- Towelroot not compatible;
-srsroot found a method "root4" but when I check with rootcheker not have root;
-kingoroot after trying several fault, without success, he proposed at the end of injecting this "tar" file "wmrecovery_samsung_GT-I9192.tar" I refused. (could change knox).
This is the compressed file picked from temporaly kingoroot folder: (see in attached file)
After several readings on different forums, an idea occurred to me: doing the same thing using the "ROOT newest 4.4.2 without tripping KNOX" method that involves injecting a kernel that can be root, realize the root then reinject the original kernel.
I explain:
1) flashing the kernel 9192xxubmk4 "boot.img" in my phone;
2) root with saferoot
3) run the phone to see if there is not bug, if
4) flashing the original kernel and keeping the root.
What do you think of this approach?
Thank you
succes

I just have my answer now : " it's a great et un grand succès".
I have do it just like I had explain in first thread, just use this script to prepare kernel mk4 for flashing with odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2446269
Et voilà, root checker confirme the root and supersu update su binairies with stopping knox .
And in download knox 0x0 ........... yes.
Now I place my double sim to see if all is right, if not i'll flash in second time with the original kerne nb1.
Good night.
Simple, complete. It was my guide of root. Thank you so much.

I've read the guide on how to use Towelroot to root my S4 i9505. I have the GNG8 software so Towelroot fails.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/root-how-to-obtain-root-permissions-t2862768
The guide says at point (7): "flash via Odin your original kernel, matched to the ROM version you are using. You can find HERE a kernel stock collection."
So how do I match the Kernel?
It looks like I can't complete this anyway because Mobile Odin doesn't work yet with new 4.4 updates according to the Mobile Odin instructions. But I'd like to understand everything ready for when Mobile Odin release an update that works with my phone.
Just to clarify, your Knox flag is 0x0, i.e. not tripped?
To get your modem, dial *#1234# into the dialer. The AP should be the modem. From there you should be able to find it in the list. If not in the list, you can get it by downloading the stock ROM from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com, using the information given through the dialer to search for it.
Hi, when I go into download mode I see that the Knox counter/fuse is 0. So I understand what I'm doing, why does this make a difference what the knox counter is at for the rooting?
So, following instructions, *#1234* gives me the following AP:
AP: I9505XXUGNG8
Going back to the rooting instructions, point (7):
"Reboot your phone into download mode and flash via Odin your original kernel, matched to the ROM version you are using. You can find HERE a kernel stock collection."
I follow the link and see the following file. Is this the one I should flash using Odin at that point?
Kernel_Stock_GNG8.tar.md5
The reason why I asked about the Knox fuse is this: if tripped there's no need to use Towelroot and CF-Autoroot could be used instead.
The file you mentioned is the correct one for your device.
If you're not concerned about tripping knox then use CF-Auto-Root.
On my device i have build number G900FXXU1BOC7 and i want to root my device.
I can't understand how to do it without getting KNOX 1 .
I understand that its possible to use custom Rom that already contain root access - but there are so many Rom's here and i don't know witch of them is without KNOX 1 - and i don't know if i will get on of those Rom .. if i will be able to get back in any case to the original build ( G900FXXU1BOC7 )

You have to download Towelroot and downgrade your kernel to root your phone without tripping Knox.
The kernel you need
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cun1uainm2h07em/KERNEL_G900FXXU1ANE2.tar.md5
The Towelroot app
http://beste-apps.chip.de/android/app/towelroot-apk-android-app,cxo.70416483/
1.Download Odin and select the kernel you downloaded under AP.
2.Get your phone in Download mode and flash the kernel.
3.Then try to boot your phone (i am not sure if this works cause the kernel is for android 4.4.2) install Towelroot and click on Make it Rain.
4.If your phone dont boots you have to install a 4.4.2 fimeware first and then flash the kernel.

BOC7 is Lollipop, downgrading his Kernel to a KK kernel will brick his phone
He needs to downgrade to KK first, in which case, OP might as well downgrade to the same version KK as the kernel you are suggesting to use belongs to (Pre June 2014 KK ROM)
Help me to root my Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 XXUGNH6.. I have tried all the rooting apps like: Kingroot, Iroot, Towelroot, Oneclick root etc!!
I even tried CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505 from #Odin, It also failed..
Actually I get superSu installed but while updating binaries it detect Knox and ask for to diaable when i click to disable it fails Again to disable knox I used various method downloaded superlocklite apk, Packages disabler apk, Non the app worked :'( Plz help..
Are you flashing the latest version of supersu.zip?
Yes sir!
I suggest flashing back to a completely stock 5.01 ROM, then flash TWRP, then supersu. I did this on several s4 i337m (Canadian version of the s4) running 5.01 and it always disabled knox and gave root access. I know the 9505 and i337m have the same processor.
Hi to everyone, I have a galaxy A5(2016) A510F and I want to root it but this will trip knox so I want to ask if we root a stock rom and flash it via odin does this detect root and trip knox ? (we will modify the system.img that we find in.tar file)
It probably won't trigger KNOX, but root access would be unstable, at best. Try using KingRoot instead - if it works on your device, it will root it and keep the KNOX counter the same, and if it doesn't, it'll just tell you that it can't root your phone.
I don't want try it because my phone it's new so can someone try it and post the result ? Maybe someone that have already trigger knox, this don't want to be a problem for him/her
EDIT: I think Kingroot don't work http://forum.xda-developers.com/sam...ment/galaxy-a5-2016-success-kingroot-t3400564

I tried king root, but after reebooting my phone was unrooted. I suggest you to flash cf autoroot because, yes, it trips knox counter, but If u soft-brick your device in any way, you can always solve it using odin and flashing stock firmware/PIT...
They are two different things, maybe you are confused because it doesn't mean that if you flash cf autoroot and soft-brick your devices you can unbrick it just flashing stock rom, yes this is true but you can unbrick you phone in anytime without having cf autoroot!
I didn't mean that, i know odin doesn't request root permission, I said that if he flashes cf autoroot and he soft-bricks his device ( I know it's almost impossible ) he will resolve the problem by flashing stock formware (or a custom ROM after wiped cache, dalvik, data and system)
Unfortunately not possible to pre-root a stock Samsung 5.1.1 or 6.0 rom and preserve knox. It will boot loop your device. Selinux will block root and prevent the device from booting unless the boot.img is patched to remove the selinux root restriction.
However patching the boot.img trips knox, catch 22 situation.
Keep hoping for kingroot or Kingoroot if you want to preserve the knox counter.
Thanks for the reply
Can anyone try this http://www.samsungsfour.com/tutorials/how-to-root-all-samsung-galaxy-smartphones-without-pc.html ? I don't want to trip my knox!
If it works it wont trip knox as it doesn't touch the binaries.
Unfortunatelly, I can't try because i've already tripped the knox
Morning everyone,
I have searched and searched, is it possible to root these A3's as yet?
I bought this s a replacement for my son as he broke his s5 mini sitting on it lol.
Best wishes
If tripping KNOX is not a worry, you can flash TWRP, and flash the SuperSU package. (Optionally, you can flash back the stock recovery, and retain the root.)
There is no solution without tripping KNOX yet, CF-AutoRoot has not been updated for A300FU Marshmallow yet.

Hi,
I tried downgrading to lollipop without success, as it would stay on samsung logo.
So i had to use smart switch to re-install marshmellow.
Tripping knox is no issue, Therefore as supersu not been updated it would leave me with only option to go back to lollipop?
If so, is there a tut i could follow as doing usal way with odin etc did simply not work.
The A3 is on 02 network
Best wishes
Go for the 4 file package then, it is the only thing that keeps saving peoples phones around here.
Use SamFirm for to download them (make sure you tick binary update)
