Hey peeps! Seriously considering to buy the HTC 820 as it just hit my country. Those who already own it could perhaps post your shots? Eager to see how the quality of the camera is pre-hand.

well, the quality of rear camera is ok.. similar to desire 816 but front camera is really bad, worse than the 816. Though after processing the image produced is okay-ish.

At daylight it's more than just a camera on phone. Its manual mode provide everything we expect from a phone. All the photos were taken using manual mode.Even in night its not that bad.

I use manual mode to do this . I put camera close to flower and manually focus as close as possible . also increase shutter speed to have appropriate lightening condition. I have provided the screen shot for those camera setting. Here are some more photos comparing front and rear camera
Got several photos in my review plus link to Flickr album set for the 820

Hey,
I yesterday installed the newest version of WolfBreak his CM.
Many things are fixed and the ROM is now incredible smooth!
I also tried some new Camera apps.
Stock Camera App is as always better the the Stock App WolfBreak gives.
Only one app kills them both. It's called Camera 360 Ultimate.
You should really but the app, it's really worth it. You will be amazed by how great the pictures are! Maybe even better then the Stock S.E. 2.1 Camera App!
If this helped you in a search to a GREAT camera app, please press the ''Thanks'' Button!
Any questions about this WolfBreak his ROM? Just send me a PM!
~~ PlayGunsta
Yes you are right..i have been used it for a long time and i can confirm that is absolutely the best!! Thanks for this tip!!
Cheers

I take Vignette. Can anyone tell why the Camera 360 better?
I've tried this app. Yes the quality is good, but why can't you use the flash?
It says phone does not have flash, so in that sense it doesn't beat vignette

The only advantage of Vignette is the possibility tu use auto flash imo. Camera 360's photos are clear and stable..instead of Vignette's that are out of focus!!
Why is this not in the Applications forum? Anyway thanks for the info, will try it out

Vignette out of focus? Not for me.
Anyway I've just done a comparison and I found that quality of vignette is better...
I had both settings on highest quality and turned off flash for vignette.
I think vignetteis better in quality but it is still slow :-(

camera 360 Ultimate is not worth, if it cannot handle exposure as no of the cameras for 2.2+ (android, vignette,...) for our beloved X10 write me if Im wrong cheers
Vignette pictures are better. I don't know who said they are out of focus but thats crazy talk! Do you have the newest release? Camera 360 doesn't stand a chance against vignette.
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
what are you talking about, make photo comparison in full resolution then we can choose the winner
I think that Camera 360 ultimate is superior I used the two but I found the 360 have a better img processing, they have the same specs like 8.1mp 96dpi but 360 seems to be better to me, and the stable shot function helps a lot!
some pics on this

Tks
360 is by far the best! 10000% no questions asked tried everything else.
Thanks for your tips mate.

..flash on x10 is wery bad....one small led ....so 360 is better for me to!
Ok, thats it. Im going to play with 360 one more time. So using stable shot in 360 doesnt destroy the image like it does on stock camera app?

hehehe
its like this, if you shake your hand it dont take the pic, soo YOU should get steady, when you are steady it takes the picture automaticly
=)
Vignette also has a stable mode called "steady shot" but i haven't used camera360 enough to compare, only the free version and it caps the resolution to low.

did they delete this off the market? I cant seem to find it, does anyone have the QR code?
I don't know if its just me. But I find the stock camera app on X10 very hard to use...
It is only nice on a bright sunny day. The shutter lag makes the camera almost unusable under low-light condition or while you're at an indoor space.
Its slow to focus on subject, and even slower for the camera to take a pictureou, leaving you a blurry image because the person has moved...etc.
The camera app that comes with CM roms in my opinion is the best.. photo is instantly taken once you press on shutter. wonder if any devs would be able to port it on to roms based on stock GB?
that is about right for X10....
otherwise, go for DSLR camera.

X10 camera is good enough with the right app.. but definitely not the stock SE one. It has potential to be there.
asking if any devs are able to port cm6 camera on to SE GB rom
In my opinion The GB stock camera it's better than previous CM roms

Sorry to tell you but the stock app is superior than any app on the market. Show me what app from the market allows you to control EV+/-
Dont think thats a useless feature.....its what seperates stock cam from any other app.
Ive given lots of pointers as a photgrapher within these forums how to properly get a great image regardless if your lighting is poor.

If you use normal mode for interior without decent lighting, you will see the screen does not respond promptly as you move the camera around different subjects, that's the lag I'm talking about.
Thanks for suggesting sport mode tho..its a lot more responsive. Didn't bothered to try it before.
But what it does really is compensating exposure for the less lag as I've figured...sport mode is unusable without daylight, the image is way too dark.
Yes I'm on GB at the moment, not saying X10 camera is that bad, but it wouldve been so much better if its as fast as the camera included in CM roms

Guys who dont know EV
its that setting by which you can + or - the lighting in the cam. its on the right hand side in a box with +/- sign.
If you learn the camera correctly, you can take some awesome shots. I still have pictures till this day that people are amazed by the quality and clarity of the photos. The X10 can take the shots you want with patience and practice.
It takes better pics than my ATRIX.

Hello, i am going to buy Atrix. But camera takes pictrures ugly quality. Is there any way to improve quality? Compression? What´s about Droid 3 camera app?
I don't know about Droid 3 camera but, I'm using the camera app from MIUI as main one and for even better shots I use HDR Camera+ from the market. Try HDR Camera (not +) first to see if you like it, the + version has a lot more settings and uses flash as well.
Camera Zoom FX works a lot better, you can find it on the market.

Ya there are software options but the camera just isn't that great to start with. But the rest of the phone is amazing thanks to the development community.
using neutrino's rom atm and you can deff. notice the difference with this one or stock camera, I think it's the MIUI one
so the different cameras apps actually affect the quality of the pictures themselves huh? i thought they were there for effects, stabilization, etc.
i use miui camera aswell..just perfect !

Yeah its the same camera no matter what app/apk you use.
Only thing you can do to improve the camera quality is up the Mega pixels to 5 if you only had it on 3 for some reason. Other than that, totally placebo effect.

Not really I took two identical pictures one with MIUI Camera and one with Default CM7 camera, you can definitely tell a difference. While the sensor remains the same different apps will process pictures differently.
The camera in neutrino rom is good, but you loose the front one. Still Atrix just doesn't have the megapixels.

Search 'Photaf' on the Android market, does the job nicely although it's annoying that it isn't part of the stock CM7 camera
Edit: this isn't the single sweep panorama I assume you were looking for but it's quite decent.

Single sweep sounds like it uses video camera not actual photo image . Might make the panorama of lower quality

I have pano for simple panorama shots , its quality is superb and its simple to use , i also have 360 Panorama for my dad when he does remodeling on a home , we take a 360 shot of a room and make our 'remodels' on the computer to get an idea of what the customer will be getting .
Ok. I agree with u all, but let me ask, does any one have used sweep panorama yet? From phone or sony cybershot? If u have used u will look for no other. No ugly stitching, no angle problems, it makes panorama as it should look like.
360 degree panorama is good, but still messy stitches and angles..

Hi, You dont like the focus of s5 ? or you are talking about selective Focus ?? alternate for selecting Object and blur background you can try Google Camera
For Macro Mode you can try Macro Lense from ebay
