so, I've surfed the forum looking for answers, I did find many conflicting answers but no firm ones. I am considering the TMO variant so I'll have 4G connectivity in the US and 3G where I travel frequently to in Europe. Assuming the TMO note 3 is SIM AND bootloader unlocked, can I flash international firmware on it while keeping TMO's modem settings ? I will only consider the TMO variant if this can be done, otherwise I think i'll sacrifice the 4G connection and get an international variant as usual.

If you are paying the full price for the phone, it wouldn't matter where you get it from, it WILL be sim unlocked. my question is, knowing that the phone is SIM unlocked, and assuming it will be bootloader unlocked, can I flash any international firmware on it ?

I don't see why not since Tmobile/ATT version is identical to the Euro S800 version, as long as you keep the Tmobile modem. My at&t S4 is identical to the euro version and I can flash any euro ROM. Just hope it will be bootloader unlocked .

umm negative. Apparently our carriers suck like that. For example, t-mobile which is generally more lax than ATT will not unlock your phone until you've been with them for 40 days (or is it 4 months?) but yeah. No immediate unlock even if you purchase outright. I think you'll have to purchase it from someone else that explicitly states it is sim unlocked. Negrielectronics was a good example.
HI, really sorry if this is a noob question but would someone be able to answer this asap. I live in the UK and purchased an S5 off ebay it stated it was the SM-G900F (UK varient I believe) but upon delivery I checked and its the SM-G900S which is the Korean vairent.
So I put my sim in and it displays that im roaming which is obviously wrong. Can I just flash a UK rom and will everything work like uk varient or is the radio bands or anything else different. Please answer asap as I will need to contact ebay.
Also is this 4G version and will it work in UK?

Here are the specs http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=5448&c=samsung_sm-g900s_galaxy_s5_lte-a_samsung_pacific and here http://www.droidgod.com/2014/05/samsung-galaxy-s5-sm-g900s-full-specifications-features/. It looks quite similar for the G900F but check if the supportd LTE bands are compatible.

No, LTE bands are defined in the radio chip. You cannot change these bands by flash a different rom or modem.

Yes, as the cpu/gpu, screen and reoslution are similar i guess you could do that. Don`t know the supported LTE bands of the 900S though. Maybe its best to file a complaint to Ebay about the seller misleading you as you probably will not have warranty either.
Understand that AT&T has locked bootloader on S5.
Can anyone tell me which model I should buy that will work on the AT&T LTE network but has an unlocked bootloader and can be rooted ? Also understand that there seem to be several variants of S5 available like G900F G906S etc....
Anyone tell me which one to buy ? want to use AT&T but have full control on device.
Thanks
You should but the one from T-mobile it will work with AT&T but you will have to Sim unlock it and you will be able to install roms on it.
Hello everyone,
yesterday, a family member gifted me an s7 from the USA (SM-G930P). He bought the phone off SPRINT as a SPRINT unlocked version, and, of course, because I live in Europe and want to use the phone with a European SIM card I have the "hands free activation" mark that is sitting on the top left edge of the display. I also noticed some changes, for example the "mobile data" toggle is nowhere to be found and also I don't have the options to choose the network mode (2G/3G/4G). I love the phone and I also would like to keep using it, I only need some answers from you guys.
My first question is, if the phone will actually let me use 4G network with my European SIM card, or will I be limited to 3G?
My second question is, If I can flash an international firmware for another carrier and another country on the phone, and if so, will I have the advantages of that firmware, like the Mobile Data Toggle??
Thank you very much for your answers.
If you install the 'Network' app you might be able to change the network type.
In general you should be able to use an unlocked P variant with a foreign SIM but you may have to activate with a Sprint SIM first.
You can't flash the international version since it's Exynos and the P version is Qualcomm CPU.
I am not sure if this model has Samsung region lock which is another thing to consider.
If I was you I would try to flash the U firmware (US unlocked) as it has the most support for international 4G bands among the Qualcomm US models. It also doesn't have all of the Sprint bloatware on it.

Thank you for your reply. I am currently using the European Sim from my carrier and I have no problems with it. I managed to get rid of the Bloatware by using Package Disabler Pro, but it still sits there somewhere on my phone. So far, the phone is working very well and other than the bloat sitting on my memory and the lack of LTE, I have no complaints.
Can you tell me if someone has tried to flash the U firmware on a P model with success?

Could you tell me how you did it, or link me a guide??
I had bought an unlocked Sprint galaxy S7 (930P) off ebay which died on me. Got it repaired from the service center and they sent me a locked device instead. The phone is currently on Software Version - G930PVPS4BQC1 and the hardware revision is Rev 0.6. I'll be using the phone in India and have a few questions.
1. I need to get this SIM unlocked from a service online. Does anyone know of a reliable place to do so?
2. If I flash the U Rom on it after unlocking it, will I lose the unlock? (I don't mind downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow)
3. Should I unlock first then flash the ROM or flash the ROM first and then try to get it unlocked?
4. Will flashing the ROM directly unlock the phone itself?
Please advise.
...
you could try gsm zambia to unlock your phone it works i tried it myself a few days ago, also after my phone got unlocked i flash the U firmware/rom and the unlocked remained. so you should unlock your device first then flash the U firmware :good:
PS. if you one nougat better to downgrade if you can do marshmallow so when you wont have any issues flashing to U firmware. :cool

I bought a 950xl used on eBay for my wife, because she lost her beloved 950xl usa model. It's a Hong Kong model, however. I know I can just set region to USA and it'll work, but if at all possible I'd rather give it a proper usa model ROM. If not, I'll cope, but I thought I'd ask first. Yes, I searched, but no, I didn't find a conclusive answer.
Thanks!
Err, anyone? Anyone?
I too, am interested in this. I have a European 950 XL and wish to see if I can flash a US version.
Anyone, anyone? Beuler?
