Want to switch my note 3 to pageplus - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys new to the forum I was wondering if you guys can help me out.
I want to switch my note 3 (verizon) to page plus. I have took my note 2 to a cell phone shop and they changed it over for 50 bucks and can do the same for my note 3. So my question is can I learn to do it myself or should I just pay the 50.
Thanks in advance

Actually figured it out way simpler than expected page plus now has Sim cards for Verizon phones so no need to flash or anything took it to phone shop and got it hooked up for 19 bucks

[Q] Question on Sim card and Wireless Charging

Hey Sorry if this Question is somewhere else if it is please point me in the direction because ive been looking through all the threads and cant find these two things out.
I Plan on upgrading to this from my Gnex when it comes out but two Questions i need to know. The first thing is when i got My Gnex i was able to put my T mobile Sim card right in, does this Phone have micro or nano sim where ill have to get a new sim card or will my same Sim card work like it did with the Gnex
Second question is that The Wireless charging is one of the coolest new features for me and i wanted to know if anybody has seen anything online on whether the Wireless charging dock comes with the phone or if id have to buy it separately for alot of extra money??
Thanks In advance and Greatly Appreciated
1 micro sim but T-Mobile has micro sims available already since they support the iPhone 4S now days I know since that's what I'm using right now after selling my GS3 today .. I simply walked into the store and they provided me one for free since I'm currently on their network ..
2) Not in the box at least it's not listed on the google play store as it would come with it ...

Thanks Really appreciate it. Did Tmobile make you extend your contract or anything like that when you got new sim card? I know companies like to pull stuff like that sometimes
Nope ! They might try to sell it to you since I was told by the store manager how some stores try to make you pay (but not give you a receipt for it ) when they are free for existing plan holders meaning if you have an active plan (even a prepaid one) they have to provide you with one free of charge .. He even went on as far as telling how he had to fire a dude a few months ago because he was making a little money on the side for selling SIMs 25 dollars a pop to ppl who simply needed a simple reboot to fix their phones but he would convince them that they needed a new one ... Lets face most ppl don't really know their phones at all

Bricked from network

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Hey I just bought my Nexus4 for about 2 weeks ago and switched over my straight talk ATT sim.and this is what happen I saw a post on Craigslist about a Galaxy Note 2 for 450 bucks so I met with the guy and wanted to make sure the phone was in good conditions.so basically I tried putting my Sim card to see if it work and it did and next I asked him if I could call ATT to confirm if the phone was not reported stolen or lost. Of course he said no he didn't have time. 20 minutes later I try to place a call and I said I got blocked from network on my nexus and to call my service provider which is straight talk which they told me my phone basically is bricked. The thing is I don't have another sim card to test out my phone at the moment so is it possible that I am possibly brick by network or is my sim thats blocked from network

Not quite sure what you mean..... Did you switch back to the nexus 4 after inserting your sim into the Note II?? It sounds like one of three things happened...
1 The Note II was stolen and hence locked your sim/AT&T from accessing the network
2 The Note II was opened in his name for less than a month and he sold the phone to make a profit and did not pay his bill. (most likely)
3 The Note II was Imei blocked from working on AT&T network because of #1 or #2
What i would do is try and get my money back if you purchased the phone or you can buy a new sim and call customer service and ask if they can reprogram the new sim with the old sim information.... Good luck man!!

Yeah it turns out that the note 2 was blacklisted and was not allowed on at&t no more but that's why I did not buy it.but the sad part is they disabled my Sim card when I was testing it to see if it work.i Thought they brick my phone because the error it give me when place a call with my phones Sim card and what the straight talk customer service person told me .and the good thing I tried my friends Sim card and every thing was good.

Verizon Note 3 not getting service, maybe root will solve??

Hey guys my Note 3 is activated on my Verizon acct but I can't get service anywhere in my area code (Virginia Beach, VA). I went to another market about 2 hours away (Richmond, VA) and stuck the sim card from my note 2 in my Note 3 and it worked fine for over 24 hours. As soon as I got out of Richmond, I made a phone call that lasted until I got back home and hung up the call then I lost service again and can't get it back. It is still activated on my line though. I have tried 5 different Note 3's and about 10 different SIM cards, all with the same issue, so I think I've ruled out a faulty device.
Verizon Tech support and I have tried everything we can to resolve the issue, and reading the Verizon support forums, I have found that there are others with the same issue...phone will activate, but not connect to service.
My question to any of you is do you think rooting the device will help to resolve this issue? I know root has recently been achieved (or at least I thought it had) and am wondering about this...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do still have 14 days to return my device worry free, and Verizon has given me $55 in acct credit, plus they are going to extend my "worry free" return time for the device in question.

I don't think Root is going to help solve your problems. Sounds like a Verizon issue to me.

Root is not going to fix this type of Issue. I would return it for another device. nd make sure you get a new SIM card as well.

I'm sure with time we'll have Better radios but your issue is malfunction.

I understand and thank you for your answers thus far. I don't believe it's a device issue as I've tried this on at least 5 different Note 3's and tried at least 10 different SIM cards, none of this worked. Again, once I took my Note 3 to Richmond VA (about 2 hours away) it got service and worked for the entire time I was there. While I do believe this is a Verizon network issue, I was hoping rooting and maybe flashing a new radio would solve the issue? Sounds like there may not be a new radio yet though...

I have a Q for you then sir... The number you have associated with your account, is it a Verizon original number or did you port it from another company?

I also had the same issue, I live in Richmond,VA and just switched from Sprint. Went to Newport News and had no service about a couple weeks back. Lost service right at Busch Gardens and I had the No service popup with service for 2 seconds and back to no service. It kept doing this and would keep restarting my phone. Verizon is blaming Samsung, Samsung is blaming Verizon. My sim card worked in a G4 in Newport News just fine. I wasted 3-4 hours of my day from phone support to in-store time trying to resolve this issue. The best solution they could provide was get another phone but I refused to downgrade from the Note series. I am about to go to Newport News again, I am hoping they resolved the issue by now. Sounds like a Verizon network issue or a possible firmware problem on the device.

Hey Op.
If you haven't already fixed it. I actually came across this a couple days ago. The fix for this is to create a new line to activate. For some reason the note needs to be activated on a new line.

Went to Newport News this weekend and drove around and had service everywhere. Seems to be a Verizon issue and seems to be resolved.

[Q] Why does this guy want money to "fix" my Note 3?

I have a Note 3 from my old, expired, contract with Sprint. I'm still shopping around for a better carrier in my area. In the mean time I opened service with a company called Metro PCS. As a side note this also lets me evaluate T-mobile's network (since I believe they are on the same network).
An employee at the local dealership checked out my Note 3 and said it would totally work with their network, IF I payed him $75 to do some "magic" to the phone. Ok then... He promised it worked and had a few examples on a shelf that he'd worked on for others to show me.
I got him to lower the price to $40 and signed my phone over (I'm not kidding, I made him sign an agreement...as legal as that really is xD), then a couple days later he tells me he can't set it up because it's running the custom cyanogen rom I have on it.
Now I'm wondering two things....
Why would my rom cause an issue???
And wtf was he going to do anyways???
I work 5 days a week and don't have much free time to screw with all of this stuff. That's a big reason I was down to shell out some cash for it to just "work".
Does anyone have any clue what this dude was up to? And what should I do next?
Thanks folks!
P.S. I'd re-install stock rom if it wasn't such a piece of s#!t
Maybe he would flash some files that could open for your new network. And it was made for stock roms? That's why he can't do it for you on CM.
Get your phone back.
Maybe some one can help you here with unlocking your device.

He probably is charging for the network unlock code.

sim locked phone and network wont unlock it

Hello Ive recently bought an s7 I mistakenly thought by rooting and changing the rom it would disable any network lock if there was one! incorrect, so phoned the network EE and they've said the phone is only into 3 months of a new contract so they cant unlock it for another 3 months!
searching hasn't yielded anything worth while so im hoping you guys have an option for me so i dont have to wait 3 months to use my new phone
thanks

use an online unlocking company or go to any major mall in your area, you should be able to find a company that will unlock it for you.
there are several out there who will unlock the S7E for a small fee.
ok thanks i used unlockunit website worked a treat
