I've attached the snapshot from the unboxing video how it look like. Actually it was be XT905 Australian version but seller scammed me, but this is another story.
I've tried another firmware:
When i flashed Softbank ROM's, gsm network is working, but 3G not working.
On Australian ROM's No network.
When it was on sm_t_bp_1537.000.16.01s baseband GSM, HSDPA, HSDPAP worked, except LTE, because this is wrong model.
Thanks in advance.

Be careful
I installed wrong radio on my razr m and losted my IMEI, I tried everything but nothing works. Playing with radios can kill your IMEI Lesson Learned.
Did you already tried modifying the APN's?

I've found the man who has the same phone like me without any modification. I asked him to make a DUMP files of his modem files. After he did it i was took the Australian stock firmware for XT905 and changed 4 files who using for modem.
It's look like this in the system :
fsg
modem
modemst1
modem s2
After flashing modem works again.
Use RDS lite for flashing.
Download the modified firmware here yadi . sk/d/jv92LGfPdDGTz (am unable to post the external link because forum politics)
All you need is:
1. Download the archive
2. Unpack
3. Use RDS lite for flashing (complete firmware)

[Q] - i9507: No service on KitKat - Can receive calls, can't dial (no service)

Hi Guys,
I'm from Australia and recently bought an Optus Galaxy S4 4G. Strangely, the model number is i9507. I double-checked this online and usually weird model numbers are just carrier-spin-offs. So I went ahead to root and flash just like you would with an International i9505.
So far no problems - 4.3.x PA rom works absolutely fine.
BUT:
I've tried some Kit Kat roms recently and they all flash fine but give me 'mobile network not available'. Strangely though, I can receive calls/text and talk on the phone, but when I try to dial or send text messages, I can't do it. My reception bar is completely empty as well.
WiFi is totally fine, just no data and mobile network
I've tried messing with the 'network operators' setting and if i select my carrier (I have a Vodafone sim) I'll get network reception until I turn off the screen and then my mobile network becomes unavailable again
Not sure what the problem is; modem? APN? or roms not suitable for my phone?
Current info:
ROM - [ROM] KOT49H【4.4.2】 GOOGLE EDITION 4.4.2 by Danvdh, Kryten2k35 & Ktoonsez
Baseband - i9507XXUAMH2
Kernel - [email protected]oonsez-VirtualBox #1
I've been flashing for a while now but it's usually just basic stuff so you can probably tell I'm pretty amateur lol.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks =)

Hi Rich
As your baseband is quite out of sync with the firmware you are trying to run (MH2 is from 4.2.2 ,,, right?) I would suggest you change your baseband (modem) flashing an equivalent to the ROM firmware from here.
I've got yesterday the exactly same behaviour when finally and reluctantly I've added a data plan. I was running a successful low-baseband + high-firmware because was setted to "GSM Only" (try it ... will work flawless). When I've switched to LTE got what you've described in the face too . I've promptly updated my baseband and now all is fine
EDIT: please do nothing of the above described BEFORE taking a EFS backup with every tool you can find and preserving them in several highly fortified locations and 2 or 3 K7 Tapes too . Have an ODIN flashable copy of your MH2 baseband is advisable too.
Hope I've helped and please share your experience.
Nice regards.
.
Hey thanks for the reply! Helps heaps =)
While I still had those roms installed I did try flash a few modems within Odin, all failed though =S
Which one should I be flashing?
I believe I tried XXUFNA1 but the flash just doesn't go through
Does it make a difference which rom I flash the new modem from? I.e. flash when the new modem now or flash the new modem on the kitkat rom?
I'm currently using Pacman 4.3.1 since it's perfectly fine. Just can't wait to get on a KitKat rom though! haha

Hi Rich
Sorry, may be my fault, but quite didn't got your
You may proceed having the below as a rule of thumb:
Your baseband (modem) version should always match your ROM (firmware) version.
Failure to flash something is never good signal. As you have an i9507 (I own the 5) is very advisable to flash a modem built for your S4 flavour.
The above rule should apply to it too so, if the only modem available for the i9507 is the MH2 your firmware have to match or these issues reported will return.
Did you tested the "GSM Only" option to corroborate (or not) my hyphothesis? With this config, you should perceive no signal drops when waked. I know it isn't a viable operational mode but ... just for fun
Nice regards and keep sharing

Reception/Modem/Baseband

Hello,
I recently upgraded from Xperia Arc S to Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505.
I bought my device from Hong Kong, with HK firmware. After I opened the package I put my SIM inside,
the reception was not very good. I was instructed by the company to use GSM only since there is no
LTE network in Israel as of today.
I flashed a couple of ROMs since and today I am on MIUI v5 which is my favorite, the reception remains
the same in all ROMs, quite bad compared to my old Xperia Arc S.
I was wondering about basebands and modems, I have been watching those two names floating around
the forums quite a bit and I never got around to playing with those.
So my questions are as follows:
1. Is there a different between modem and baseband or are these two just different words that refers to the same thing?
2. Does changing a baseband/modem can help get better reception?
3. If the answer to 2 is yes, which one should I get?
Thanks,
Oded
Yes modem/baseband are the same thing. Go to SamMobile website Google it, then go to the firmware section, choose the S4 find your carrier and see the latest rom for your carrier in the file name will be some letters and numbers like XXNA5 etc. This will give you a base to start with. Or tell me your operator and I can take a look.

Thanks for the quick reply. How do I find out which firmware I need to download? Israel is not in the list. My carrier is called Orange. http://orange.co.il/
behind the battery it says:
GT-I9505
SSN: -I9505GSMH
RATED
Made by...
Imei...
S/N...
EDIT:
You didn't answer if the incorrect baseband can cause bad reception... it sounds to me like it does but I just want to make sure.
I also noticed that when I reboot my device it goes back to WCDMA only automatically so everytime I reboot/power off I need to reset it to GSM only using *#*#4636#*#*

1. Same thing .
2. Yes.
3. You can check it from here that Base from your country/Provider . And you can download it from here
The problem is that Israel is not on that list, I think because we don't have LTE network and my device is LTE.
My carrier is using GSM network only.
Israel don't sell the I9505 officially, they have the I9500 available from your carriers.
Looking at the I9500 with Orange the latest I9500 modem is: I9500JKUEMJ9
Obviously do not flash the I9500 modem but you can try XXUEMJ9 from the I9505 instead.
From here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
Download the modem and flash via Odin. You can any of the I9505 modems. Just try until you get a good one, and as for LTE it doesn't matter in the network settings you will obviously be choosing 3G option instead.

I see, well, it didn't work, I flashed about 7 different modems and I still get bad reception indoors and good reception outdoors.
I will try to test other SIMs of other carriers on this device to see if reception improves.
Thank you very much for you help!

Depends what bootloader your on, I'm assuming your on the new bootloader so you need to flash both the LTE and GSM modems. I'm on a GE 4.4.2 rom and old bootloader running on an older modem and not got any issues. Try it and see what happens you can always flash another after or go back to a 4.4.2 modem.

OK thanks a bunch. If not too much trouble can you point me to a list of the modems you speak of? And is there anywhere where it's detailed how to flash both modems? When I changed modem in the previous ROM's I only had to flash one.

A small tip to whom ever is reading this: If you have reception problems just go to someone with the same phone model and just write down the information in about phone section such as: baseband, core, build etc so you know which one works 100% if your phone is the same model.
Anyways, nikzDHD, I9505XXUEML6_MODEM worked best, I flashed 90% of the modems... took me forever :/

[HELP] [Q] No Mobile Data Signal

Hi,
I recently was getting frustrated with the ROM Gummy. ROM GUMMY: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563973) so i wanted to try something new and never thought i'd get a problem as when i flashed GUMMY it was so simple and everything worked.
However, when i flashed to the ROM S4 Google Edition: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474) i noticed my signal / network won't stay connected. It may work for 2mins then disconnect - so i tried another ROM thinking it was caused by the S4 Google Edition.
I'm now currently on KOT49H【4.4.2】Google Play Edition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353) and still getting no signal, only if i keep changing it to automatically find a network.
I've been reading it could do with Modems, or have i really messed something up and won't be able to fix my phone? I'm sort of new to this all so if you could explain more than tell me to do something that would be great.
Phone: Samsung S4 i9505
Baseband Version: i9505DVUBMGG1
Network Provider: GiffGaff (o2 Company)
Any help would be great.

You have to flash a new modem for 4.4 like nb9. If you have a bootloader without knox, flash only the modem.bin file. If you have knox, flash modem and non-HLOS.bin. there's a nice modem thread in the general section.:good:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025

A310F Live Demo Unit - get IMEI running?

Hi,
I got a Live Demo Unit of a store owner who got insolvent and liquidated his shop. Now I got this device which also recognizes a SIM card. But I can't make any calls and it don't get any cellular access. Also the IMEI is some developer IMEI.
My question is, can I get this unit running? Or can I use the IMEI of my one of my other smartphones? Or is it a hardware limitation? I already flashed latest official Samsung firmware (5.1.1 LP).

Thanks. I already flashed stock fw. But I still got no IMEI.
stock image wont do anything, i think demo units lock the ability to flash the modem, hence you wont see any radio infos.
There is a thorough guide in the Note 3 threads, and also give these xposed modules a try: Phone ID Changer & Serial Number Changer
Hm. But I flashed a radio. Sim card is also working, but because of a developer imei you can register in cellular network since the imei is not on providers white list.
I will read you linked thread asap. Thanks for the hint.
i just read on that note 3 thread, the OP flashed all the newest stuff, but left the bootloader and modem untouched (what it came with). What model does your demo unit show? On the Note 3, it had a SM-N900X, the X was only for the demo units.

One advice. Don't waste your time. You won't be able to use a sim card with a live demo unit. Even when flashing a modem.
I don't know where I got the modem from. I think somewhere in this forum oder on samfirmware.com

Identifying Yotaphone 2 model (YD206/YD201) using its hardware information

Hello
I ordered a Yotaphone 2 YD201 from china not long ago, and after recieving it I decided to check the phone's details to make sure I'd received the right version.
Unfortunately, I had received a YD206, which won't work well with 4G networks in the UK.
I contacted the seller, and he assured me that the phone I have received is in fact a YD201, stating the following:
"a few yotaphone YD201 was reflashed to YD206 before sending , pls check the phone after delivery . If your phone is YD206 system , don't worry ,it just softwareproblem , the hardware is original YD201 , we can give you reflash rom and tutorial to reflash it back to original YD201 . It will be YD201 system and work with B3/B7/B20 4G net"
My question is; is there a way I can find whether the phone was originally a YD201, or if the version I have been sent is actually just a YD206?
Attached are some screenshots containing my device's info.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thank you
- Luke
Imei = 356... -> yd201
imei = 359... -> yd206
The difference between 206 and 201 are the radio bands supported.
To flash radio only:
fastboot flash modem radio\NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash sbl1 radio\sbl1.mbn
fastboot flash rpm radio\rpm.mbn
fastboot flash tz radio\tz.mbn
The chinese model is compatible with 1800Mhz LTE band, that is used in some contries in Europe also,
On the phone dialer if you insert *#06# it will show the phone IMEI.
The I.M.E.I. stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity and is specific for each country,
IMEI numbers starting with 359 will be Chinese YD206, if this is your case, then you must flash the Chinese Radio even if you use other location ROM, the correct installed radio will give you better battery life and network speed.
Keep in mind that the Information on Android -> About the phone -> Model: YD201 or YD206 is not accurate because it gets its information from the ROM and not from the hardware.
Thanks for the help

Hi. I'm sitting with the same dilemma... I received the same explanation from Geeks Planet Store, word for word.
I do not even understand why they would even consider re-fashing something with a higher value (YD201) with the software that would make it look like something of lower value (YD206).
Anyway in your screenshot it says Baseband version ..._CN1_M05. Does this mean it uses the CN radio firmware?
I also downloaded their suggested firmware from the link they sent. In that there are no files under the radio folder. Does that mean the radio firmware is supposed to stay unchanged in this case? If so and if baseband _CN1_ means it is currently running CN radio firmware, does this mean the hardware is really YD206?
One more question: how reliable is the imei number check?
To me the best approach seems to be the suggestion by cvzalez to really test the radio with different firmware and see what works.

I'm confused too as to why they would re-flash a YD201 to a YD206. It doesn't make any sense.
According to this guide, the 'S01_003_3034_CN1_M05' baseband that we have is the one used by YD201s that's supposed to work with all available frequency bands. The reason for the radio folder being empty is so that flashing the phone leaves this baseband as it is.
As for the imei number, after a bit of research I've found that changing this number is relatively easy (even without root), so it's possible that Geeks Planet have just changed the imei number to make our phones seem like YD201s. However, it wouldn't make sense for them to do this and to not also flash the firmware to YD201 as well.
Have you tried flashing the phone to the YD201 using the instructions they've given you? I'm wondering whether or not to try this myself.

I might be wrong or blind, but when I look it says: "YD206 users have to change their modem components to CN version, in order to have all the available bands working. The modem version is written in "About Phone", under "baseband version". You must have the S01_003_3034_CN1_M05 version. "

I've asked the supplier if they can give me any assurance that they would help me out should I follow their flashing instructions and the phone be damaged as a result.
If they can give me this assurance, then I'll give it a go and give you the results.
Reading the comments on the youtube video Geeks Planet have sent me, it seems like this problem isn't exclusive to just Geeks Planet and is rather an issue with the main supplier of these YD201s. The comments state that both coolicool and e-fox have sold people phones with the same issue and have been linked to this same video.

I might be wrong or blind, but when I look it says: "YD206 users have to change their modem components to CN version, in order to have all the available bands working. The modem version is written in "About Phone", under "baseband version". You must have the S01_003_3034_CN1_M05 version. "

The wording of this section is a little difficult to interpret. It's not really clear if baseband 'S01_003_3034_CN1_M05' is the original baseband or the international baseband.

If I look at:
S01_003_3034_RU1_M11_P2 : 4.4.3-S01-003-APC.0.3.56C ; 4.4.3-S01-003-HK1.0.3.56A ; 4.4.3-S01-003-EU1.0.3.56A; 4.4.3-S01-003-RU1.0.3.56A
S01_003_3034_RU1_M15_P2 : 4.4.3-S01-003-EU1.0.3.61A ; 4.4.3-S01-003-HK1.0.3.61A ; 4.4.3-S01-003-ME1.0.3.61A
S01_003_4240_RU1_M05 : 5.0.0-APC.1.65 ; 5.0.0-RU.1.1.112 ; 5.0.0-HK.1.1.66
S01_003_4240_RU1_M04 : 5.0.0-APC.1.44; 5.0.0-EU.1.1.39 ; 5.0.0.-ME.1.1.45
S01_003_3034_CN1_M05 : in every CN firmware, in the oldest there's the 3032 version.

It really looks like _RU1_ is for RU, APC, HK, EU, ME
and
_CN1_ is only for CN
(So YD206 needs _CN1_ ?)
Guys, you're lucky! You've a YD201, it doesn't matter if the firmware inside is from YD206, it can be easily changed looking at the guide you already linked.
The fact that they flashed a firmware for 206 to a 201 is because their phones are suited for Chinese market.
All you have to do is to flash the RU version (including its radio folder) and see that all LTE bands will be working as expected on a YD201!
Changing IMEI is possible, but not simple. And if your IMEI in "About phone" is the same on that written on the package of YotaPhone, you're good to go.
IMEI checking is the most reliable way to understand if it's a YD201 or YD206.

Chinese can easily print a new IMEI on the box

Thank you for the clarification
I've been sent this reflash rom by the supplier. Would you recommend I use this or use the one on the yota website?

The one on Yota ftp site are official. I don't know if the firmware the seller sent to you is modified or they just downloaded it via ftp, repacked and sent to you. The firmware version is invisible looking at the files, first you have to flash it and them you will see which version it is.
Personally I would flash only official firmwares.

Ok, I've decided to try and flash using one of the official firmwares.
If I were to flash to one of the RU firmwares, which one of them would I need to use?

In this guide this information is already written down, anyway use the latest which is: 5.0.0-RU1.1.124.zip.
Let us know which version of firmware and baseband is the ROM the seller provided you!

Did it work? Could you test the LTE capabilities with the RU base band?

I've managed to flash the phone using the firmware the seller provided. I have also managed to install an OTA update.
I've attached a screenshot with the new device details.
Is this the correct version that I should be on now?

At least the baseband changed... which I guess is a good sign. For me now the big question is: Does LTE B20 work? (That is what I need where I live.)
