Hi can someone port the original video player from touchwiz or give me a suggestion for a player which can stream movie file plus subtitles. I have tried many dlna media servers but they just stream the video file nkt the subtitles. I have also tried allcast...the results were the same, no subtitles. Sorry for the bad english.

Hey guys, did a search and couldn't find anything, I am trying to play a video I recorded on my Hermes running WM6 on my computer, I get video, but no sound, anyone know what codec I need?
Try VLC media player
Presumably the video files are .MP4 from your Hermes??
Have a look at VLC media player - a freeware media player available for multiple platforms. Get it from HERE.
Post back if it works, then other users can benefit too
Cheers,
Mark.
The video plays fine on VLC as well as Windows Media player 11 and Media Player classic, but I get no sound.
I've been searching for a great video player for the TMO TP2 but some don't do it for me. Is there a way to set the installed video player that plays the Youtube to play all video including streaming. It might not have all codes to handle every media type but maybe there is a hack or cab to solve this waste of a great player.
Yea i love that player too. the only way i can watch the movies on my media card with that player is by going into the media album and when i open a video from there it uses the youtube player. would love to watch streaming videos with it as well.
How do I get to the other video player? Everytime I open a video file it opens with wmp. Ive been searching for a free good video player to play all my files.
Is it possible to add video codecs to the Media Player in a non modified MDA, the phone is only on loan to me from my Mother-in-Law, so I dont, if possible, to upgrade anything.
Im wanting to play standard MP4 and AVI files.
Vide Codecs
Hi There
Search the forum for a CORE PLAYER it's a simple media player that can easily be removed before you give it back.
maybe i missed it, but I cannot directly play .mkv files from the stock media player in Omnia i8000. Is there a way to make it compatible? I am currently converting .mkv to .mp4 or .avi to play them on my i8000. BTW this player is really good. no lagging or screen tearing or anything.

i'm also looking for proper mkv player.
TCPMP is very lagging
It would be great if we can play mkv files on TouchPlayer. It is one of the good player for video files, but really frustrating to use with large number of audio files.
Is the stock video player supposed to display subtitles from .srt files (named the same as the .mpt file)? If not what format should the subtitles be in the mp4 container? I know one can burn them in but I'd like to have the option to turn them on/off - not sure it's even possible as I don't see any menus/settings in the stock player but maybe I'm missing something obvious.
Don't think you can man. I just installed VLC from the play store. It's beta but it works best.
I know there are many choices of much better players (MX Player, Dice, Mobo, BS, VLC, etc.) I'm just trying to understand how "crippled" the stock player really is, that's all.
