How to exit out of demo mode Note 4 (SM-N910X)? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just bought a Samsung Note 4 demo unit (SM-N910X) off eBay.
I would like to know if there was a way to exit demo mode or to restore non-demo factory settings on the phone.
I tried to restore factory settings, and the phone did, but it always loaded the demo version in the end.
Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Tried updating firmware through Kies?

A demo-unit is NOT for the PUBLIC; as far I know, there's also NO RADIO build in the X-version (only WiFi)!

i have a note 4 demo
I also have a note 4 demo recently bought, I had removed the demo firmware and now i am having a stock firmware of N910f it works fine but some apps crashes and phone get freeze.
The major difference b/w gsm phone and demo phone is Demo have only two cores of processors while the gsm phone have 4 cores. Thanx

[Q] retail demo s4

Okay need some help and was referred here cause you guys are the best I have aquired a samsung galaxy s4 as i work in the mobile retail industry. now the handset i have been given is for demo purposes and not meant to be used with a sim although all hardware is there. It came with samsungs retail demo software which had shut down many options on the phone. Did alot of reading up and found i "should" be able to flash the stock rom using odin and it "should" work as a standard galaxy s4. Im using inverted commas on should because thats my theory im assuming the unit is just a standard s4 with retail demo software. The problem im having is when i flash via odin with the stock software it gets as far as the modem file then fails and shows (0 succeed / 1 fail). When i restarted the phone all the demo stuff is gone and looks standard but wifi cannot be turned on and although the sim/network options are there, there is a circle with a line through it where the signal bar should be and when a sim is inserted nothing happens. Now if i remember correctly even if no sim is inserted it should show a signal bar with a red x and a symbol next to it indicating no sim. Can anyone help as to why the modem file wont flash and what i can do?
I have managed to root the device and attempted to install cwm but cwm would not boot it just sat on the samsung screen showing booting recovery but nothing happened. so i removed cwm and flashed the standard recovery.
Please help
nobody any ideas?
okay well does anyone know where i can get a .pit file for a standard uk i9505?? would like to try reflashing a standard pit incase theres a demo one on there and thats my problem. Does anyone have a standard s4 .pit file or able to extract one from their own phone?
i have the same problem
Live demo units don't have the phone module in them
It's meant to be used as demo unit only and discourage people from stealing the phone from the retail shelves.

this one is not stolen !!
samsung gave me the last two demo phones s3 one which after flashing worked the other didn't
It actually lacks some hardware needed to connect to mobile networks. You should flash the demo radio back just to get wifi, the "real" one won't work.

lets just try to get the standard pit like is asked and let em full around with it, its not gonna hurt trying......

Issue Rooting Phone - Region based issue perhaps?

Hi All,
I have read all the relevant threads in this forum regarding this, and I can't find an answer so here goes:
I got a brand new Galaxy S4 i9000 gifted to me.
This was from China I believe (the phone was bought in singapore but it has Baidu Input on it so I assume it was sourced in China - i may be wrong)
I can not for the life of me get Odin to recognize my phone;
I have tried everything recommended; (including installing drivers, USB debugging etc. yes I have also tried opening Odin first vice-versa)
Additionally, I can not get the phone into recovery mode (no combination of buttons seems to work - tried everything).
I came to the conclusion that this must be a region thing?
Anyone have any ideas about how I can:
1) get odin to recognize my phone
2) proceed to root (i suspect solving no. 1 will give this solution).
Many thanks.

You probably have a Chinese fake Galaxy S4, clone based on the S4. What cpu do you have installed and what is the software buildnumber.
BTW I9000 was the modelnumber of the first Galaxy S launched. You cannot root or flash stock or custom roms designed for the S4 as you will most likely brick the phone.

Does air view , smart scroll etc wrkng ?
.
Was it recovery or download mode that showed a clone?
If it is a real S4 then you are probably having trouble flashing the modem. That was where it kept screwing up on the S3... Unfortunately the answer for that was to flash using Mobile ODIN but that doesn't support the S4 I9500 as of yet....

If you can't get it to go to Download/Odin Mode then it is a clone
can you check if it has the LCD TEST by typing *#0*# on the Phone Dialer, if you also don't have this then it is a clone
lastly download CPU-Z from the PlayStore and check if the processor is Snapdragon 600

That is strange. Sounds like you have a faulty unit, I'd take it back A.S.A.P.
You could try flashing another region ROM.
Is your Note 4 carrier branded?
I dont know if is branded. I think is from Israel and im from Romania but it works
Here im using Orange Romania.
But i dont know for 1 month worked like a charm.
And i can't take it back i bought it from the internet...
If i go to Samsung Customer Service....?
I mean I saved a lot of money for this phone and now it brokes... ?

Firstly try to contact the seller and inform them of your issues. They must have some sort of policy on faulty goods.
If that doesn't work then contact Samsung customer services and they should help you.
You could try to re-flash stock firmware for your region using Odin and doing a factory reset.
Good luck

Have you already triggered Knox?
If you have then install a custom recovery (TWRP) backup the EFS partition, this should make a copy of your IMEI just incase something were to happen.
Then go to a website such as Sammobile and enter your model number (N910f for Trltexx) then select your region and if you have carrier then select that too. Then download the .zip file and extract the contents and flash the file you extracted.
Make sure you manually boot into download mode (Volume down + Home while powering the device on.)
I can.'t back up this... I need to root the phone.
And thr phone is freezing fast can't make it...

All I want is a reliable stock ROM :(

Hi all,
very new here and to flashing ROMs etc.
Anyway, bought a 2nd hand Note 3 a couple months ago. It had a custom ROM on it and I was experiencing issues with it.
I've since (after Google taught me), managed to get a close to stock ROM on it. But sadly Im still having problems, mainly WiFi and Bluetooth not working.
Can anyone please recommend a reliable, stock or close to stock ROM?
I dont need anything fancy...I just want to be able to use standard features (mainly WiFi).
Thanks all
I've been using the music of life note5 port 5.1.1 touchwiz rom for months and that's been fine for the most part. darkera13 released a s7 6.0.1 port like 2 days ago on the samsungvn forum, it's buggy but usable, but it's second version are sure to fix the little bugs it has (battery life is bad, can't access sd in pc, other bugs that don't affect me). There is one 6.0.1 s5 port here but I haven't tried it. If you really wanna try the latest touchwiz 6.0.1 rom, wait a few days/week or so for a more stable version, otherwise I'd try one of the 5.1.1 note5 ports in here.
Flash a stock rom from sammobile or samsung-updates via Odin .

Have tried installing a stock ROM from Samsung Updates but still no Wifi or Bluetooth. Starting to wonder if its a hardware problem. WiFi etc does work sometimes, but then goes off for days at a time.
Really frustrating.

Could be anything. Even hw fault... Could you be more specific about:
What custom rom you had?
Is there any chance you had deleted something from efs folder?
Can you activate wifi and doesn`t find networks or the toggle is grayed and can`t do anything?
For bluetooth, can you activate it and doesn`t find devices or the toggle is grayed and can`t do anything?
Try this from sammobile.
Thanks, Im downloading now and will test it out.
Im not 100% sure what ROM it was as I didnt install it.
I do remember something about CM12 ?
Cant activate Wifi or bluetooth at all. It will try and turn on for either but fail and then grey out temporarily.
Ive only installed a custom ROM and havent done anything with an efs folder.
Could you please check if yout imei is there:
In stock rom it is in about device -> Status
Do not post the numbers here just look if the numbers are there

And all other too ?
Like serial number or so
Anyways I recommend you the following:
Download official kit kat firmware xxugng1 and latest lollipop firmware for your country
Do a factory reset
Flash kit kat with odin
Do again a factory reset (just to go sure)
Reboot and do the setup
Root it with cf auto-root
(If phone takes too long to boot remove Battery and start you phone)
When phone is booted Download triangle away
Launch it and reset status and counter
Than it will ask you to reboot or boot in download mode
Choose boot in download mode
Flash latest available lollipop for your country
Factory reset
And than you should not have any problems
(Do backup before it will wipe everything in your phone)

When after this the problems apare than my friend its hardware prblem 90% sure
Check correct IMEI.
Check correct modem s.
Check CSC.
Try another kernel
Could well be that you have the wrong IMEI .
I would be restoring my backed up EFS folder first .

If you had a TWRP backup of your previous rom, you wouldn't have been in this predicament.
Try updating baseband version.
Your safest bet is to download Samsung firmwares from 4.2 - 4.4 and 5 & flash it via odin in consecutive order and check if your hardware works.
Or else it might be a faulty HW issue.
A twrp backup would not necessarily fix the issue if it was a hardware problem and it sounds like it is a hardware problem if flashing the latest stock rom does not resolve the issue.

Yes, serial etc all match.
Just looking at the baseband and the build numbers. Should they match? As mine dont.
Baseband : N9005XXUGBOJ1
Build: LRX21V.N9005XXUGBOK6

No they should not match .
Modems/ baseband are often a different build .
Did wifi ever work properly? If not, it may not be worth fixing.
The easiest solution may be to find another phone that has a smashed screen nd swap motherboards.

O2U Note 4.... Broken?

So this is a bit of an odd situation my friend is having. He bought his Note 4 off eBay over a year ago, and it was (and still is) a rooted mess. And I mean a big mess. Now I'm trying to help him fix it, because he can't update his phone at all whatsoever from 5.1.1. So I send him 6.0.1 firmware for O2U and have him go into Download mode, odin, all that fun stuff. Download mode says SM-N910T. Settings says SM-N910F. Anyway, he tries flashing the firmware via odin, fails, I have him try multiple things (I'm pretty tech savvy when it comes to this type of stuff) but it always failed. Also, "Current Binary" and "System Status" are both custom, and the KNOX counter is 0x1.
So what I'm asking is, how to fix this problem for him? What steps should he take (or should I help him take)? Is this actually a T-Mobile phone from the USA, but rooted to work with O2 sim cards? The hell is going on here?
Thanks for any replies, and all suggestions will be taken seriously and addressed.
Install the Phone INFO Samsung APK by vndnguyen and see what it's written there.
Get the serial number - example: mine is a 910C with serial RF8H70D.... and so on (obviously I can't write it all here)
With this serial number try with Samsung Smart Switch on the PC and see what info you get. Also you have the possibility to get the latest original firmware installed on the phone.
Good luck.

Looks like its an refurbished note 4 original motherboard is N910T and faked with N910F software cuz N910F has more value in Market.
So the bottom line is you have N910T Tmobile note 4 and you have to flash N910T firmware but after flash firmware from odin you have to immediately boot into stock recovery by pressing 3 button combo and do factory reset to get clean fresh opreating system otherwise it will get stuck in a bootloop at samsung logo.
First boot after flash and factory reset can take upto 10 minutes.
You can get firmware from www.sammobiles.com/firmwares
Or from link below for faster download.
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657581810
Remember once you flash this latest marshmalow firmware there is no way you can ever downgrade to 5.1.1 again.
Good luck

I also used samsung-firmware.org. I would use sammobile but I only had enough on my card for a 48 hour upgrade.
