Thanks for any help in advance, Ty w
any ideas?
Does your touchscreen even work? If not, then you probably got a faulty one.
yep

yes, boot logo plays just fine, cycles through the att logo screen, then goes to the lock display, heres a pic of the lock screen that displays atm, it tells me the date, time, battery level, and notification bar, and thats it, theres no response from touch input, menu and back button work just fine, as well as the power button

Ohh, but that's not the lockscreen.
That's the S-view cover screen.
@DeepankarS knows more about how to solve it.

@Lennyz1988 thank you
@sikboarder Try removing the L1 screw and starting the phone again. Or keep a magnet near you, when this appears, touch the magnet (not a strong one) neat the volume keys and remove it. When this disappears, force stop sec.android.sviewcover from the application manager.
Still if it does not help, try an AOSP rom. Touchwiz has this stupid bug.

Hi there!
I have absolutely ridiculous problem with my THD. All of a sudden screen started to act like it is half disabled. In simple words, if a touch some icon on top bar, let's say Start button, click appears on clock. Basically it is looks like touch area displaced by half an inch down. I've tried to calibrate screeen and it seems like it worked for a few minutes and then turns back. I had to hard reset the whole thing and it did not help either. All images, icons, screen items appeared correctly on screen. Bottom menu bar responses correctly though.
I did not drop the phone if it will give a clue.
Anyone knows what the hell is that and how to fix that problem? Please help.
Thank you.
Anyone? Please...
sounds like you need to re align your touch screen. you need to go to Start>Settings>System>Screen then align screen
If you cant get to this then a Hard Reset might be the only way to go
Nothing is working. Now I cannot even get past screen alignment. Looks like it can be a hardware problem.
u may have to hard reset
then after that if it still wont work then u may need a replacement
Yeah. It sound like it is. Jast called HTC support, did hard reset again and after few minutes it is back to that misalignment. Damn...
Connected to ActiveSync and have you got 'My Mobiler' running? I noticed some strange screen behaviour with that on the Device and the host PC.
try pressing both volume keys and tapping the screen at the same time(volup + voldown + tap the screen) --- it will get you to align screen mode if that doesnt work then maybe you have some problems while flashing a rom or something!

I am having the same problem, it started suddenly somedays ago. I realized that when I hard rest it works fine for some time and then slowly left side of the screen stops responding, after a while only right side react to touch so you cannot access START menu nor anything else from the whole screen, just the left corners.Any solution?
When I press the hang up button to turn the screen of and then I turn it back on and you have to slide, when that screen comes up I can't slide it across it just simply wont let me no matter how hard I try. I would appreciate. it if someone can help me with this.
What lock screen are you using mate?

Try a hard reset!
I had a similar problem with my phone. The slider would not move left or right so it was impossible to unlock the phone. It was very frustrating.
After a few episodes of this I noticed that when it happened the hard buttons below the screen did not illuminate but if I woke up the phone using any one of these buttons and held the button down until all of the buttons lit up the slider would work. This was more of a work-around rather than a fix.
More recently, since installing the remarkable Co0kies Home Tab, I have not experienced any unlocking problems whatsoever.
Hope this helps.
Talk to your ROM chef (if it´s not stock). Try a soft-reset, if it wont help backup your system and do a hard-reset.
My Rom chef? I don't get what you mean by Chef haha, It is stock rom and what files do I back up with a hard reset?
Hello! Just bought an Optimus 7! Really good phone for the price!
But i got one problem! When im going to turn on the phone with the windows button its sometimes not responding!
Somebody else got this problem?
Yes. Happens to me all the time, but I always use the power button to turn on the screen so it doesn't bother me that much...
Sounds like a known issue.

Same here. It must be a software bug because the button is always working when the phone is unlocked.
If you still hold for a while it works
One reason for the screen not turning on is that you may be blocking the proximity sensor at the top left of the phone. The reason behind that is probably to avoid turning on the screen when the phone is e.g. in a pocket.
for me the start button for screen unlock always works, but many times screen is unlocked and all black, the systems listen to the touch input but doesnt show nothing at all....it happens very often usually when the phone is hot...
I appreciate any responses anyone has to help
Ok so i have my sisters samsung galaxy tab4 ( sm-t230nu ) which she brought to me today.
Her screen went black, lights up and all but it stays black in color. Up down volume buttons work and u can hear them working, power button works, turns screen on and off, TOUCH SCREEN WORKS, on certain areas u can hear the noise it makes when u tap on the screen and apps. I pressed the power button alone for it to restart, it restarts but does not show samsung tab logo or anything at all just lit up black screen. I even went on YouTube to memorize the hard reset sequence of buttons u have to press in order to complete the reset and i did manage to hard reset. But screen is still booting up on a lit black screen. I removed the back cover, unplugged the battery and tried booting it up and still nothing. BTW its full factory, no root roms or anything of the sort. I need help on what could be the problem. Only thing i believe might have caused this was a recent update on the system. My sister said a few days ago it gave her a notification about it and she clicked on yes. I dont know what version of android it had nor which it had updated to. Please help. Tablet is not that old. Thanks. If anything email me directly at [email protected] thanks

Have you tried getting into recovery or download mode? If those show, it's likely fixable. If you can get to recovery mode, it usually shows what firmware is on it. If that works, trying using ODIN to reinstall that firmware in download mode. If not, it sounds like a hardware problem. If it's not that old, it may be under manufacturer warranty still. Good luck.
Try to reseat the LCD cable, if it doesn't work, you may need to change the LCD. Search Ebay for LCD only or full LCD assembly if you're not comfortable to take out the touchscreen.

If tab has warranty claim warranty. I think this is a hardware issue.
When my battery goes down (between 5 and 15), the touch screen goes crazy, it's like i was touching everywhere on the screen at the same time, maybe it as something to do with the touch panel firmware here is a pic :

During power saving mode, the touch animation automatically turns off so it feel like this
To confirm that, charge your phone and manually turn power saving mode on, and try to touch, if same thing happens then its due to the android power saving function, if not try going to Nokia service centre to get it repaired
