Sprint to anounce release date of supersonic?

I seen a rumor that sprint premium account holders got a message saying look out for an announcement of a groundbreaking new device tomorrow. Supersonic anyone?

I love it. We are such phone geeks that we get excited about an announcement of another annoucement. I read VZW is announcing the Nexus tomorrow and been inpatiently wating. We are proud nerds.

I don't think it will be the Nexus. It will be the HTC incredible or maybe both?

I bought it the day after launch then got the Evo 3d on launch day. Now I just bought a used one off ebay for my mom to replace her Hero(my old phone before the 4g) It's been a blast playing around with one again. My 3D is better in almost every respect theres 2 things that bother me though. First is the new aspect ratio on the screen, the second is the great roms. We don't even have a rc for cm7 yet and our ics is nowhere near the 4g.

You'll be getting the real deal with ICS, so who cares how far along progress on something thats gonna get replaced is?
I wouldnt build ICS for the 3VO if its just gonna be replaced by an OTA. Wait for it to drop and customize from there.
The EVO 4g on the other hand, has a lot of development going on simply because its the only way we are going to get it.

sure is amazing the development that goes on for this phone. most other phones get left in the dust way sooner.

Well my trusty hero which I only had for a a couple of months bit the big one yesterday. I went to the Sprint Store to get another one and all they had in stock for Android was a Moment.
So I guess I won't be around here as much.
This community despite some squabbles is incredible. I've enjoyed and appreciated my time here and the help I got.
The moment isn't a bad phone, I just pretend I'm running DarchDroid.
With a keyboard.

I didn't do anything. It just decided to shut off and not turn back on. Tried many batteries etc. It just went bye bye.

.....Now you should root the moment and port all our goodness to them You'll be a hero......haha.

The Moment was rooted before the official 2.1 was released. They have it easy. An earlier version of the Samsung software updater let you run unsigned tarballs. So you just use that to install a custom recovery and off you go.

btw, great reference for the title. was one of my favorite books WAAYYY before the movie, they did a HORRIBLE job with Zaphod

I'll be here at least until October.... upgrade date.

Argh I miss my Hero already. The themes, the ports of different roms. Just don't happen over there in SDX Land. Someone is working on a Sens UI port though. On the upside. Live Wallpapers work perfectly and so does the 3d gallery at the same time.

So wait they just gave you a moment instead, no questions asked? Im gonna try this today as my hero has been acting up and if i get a replacement it would be my 4th phone already. Sprint told me they hardly ever give you a different model phone.

I am really excited about this.
If this becomes a good Sense Froyo build, I am very excited to see it be ported here.
If, by that time, no one is into porting, I will investigate what it takes.
I'm way too excited about Froyo with SenseUI.
I thought I'd point this out here, for all to see. I believe desire is 320x480*** (perfect) and that serves to make (some) things much easier.

UGH, I didn't know it was.
May-haps the resolution problem isn't that much of a 'problem' anyway.
It seems like every .apk will contain images for 800x480 as well as the .xml files delivering visuals that way...
I can't imagine it being easy, but maybe I'm wrong. Again.

Its already been ported to the EVO.
Wife has an eris so this would be great she loves sense and froyo would be nice.
P.S. I have the Incredible and I'm thinking its time for punk.kaos to upgrade to the incredible he is the hardest working dev i've seen.

Kaos is the terminator!

A solid Froyo with SenseUI would be the end all of ROMs for me.
I would stop modding my phone completely, if I had this, and it worked well.
................
OK that's a huge lie.
But it would make me very happy.
My buddy just got an EVO and has the Mario live wallpaper constantly running. That screen is H U G E. And that phone is silly fast. Outrageous.

Don't get too excited. Just because he built it and booted it doesn't mean anything works yet.
If that's what you call porting, I'm in the middle of doing it too.

I tried building the source, it currently fails. And I don't know enough about repo and git yet to work with a certain commit, it took me long enough to figure out how to switch my working branch, lol.

Yeah, ask my wife about this. After ten years, she thought she had tricked me into buying a "smartphone" that was not a bb. Well I saw the support on and of this phone (G2).... the rest is history. Bootloops really drive her nuts, just means I get to spend another 30 minutes setting up a restore

Im mumbling something like, "**** I hope I remembered to backup." and shes like, "you better not break it!!" My buddy had this great story in the same vein. He wasn't into phones per say, but he did have an addiction with COD for the PS3. I don't remember the exact details, but basically he had just finished fighting with his girl and he walked into the other room. He said he turned on the PS3 to play and you know that little "beep" the console makes when you first boot up. Yeah, well his girl heard that and that sound was enough to refuel the fire of the fight. Makes me laugh because I know when I'm in a fight with my wife, I would much rather be dicking around on my phone or reading XDA forums. haha

Be easy man. May be joining you. The sensation is amazing, but the dam Hercules due in august is a MONSTER of a phone. I just need to be patient. LOl Good luck! I'll be peeking in from time to time as I know development is going to be off the charts with sense and android together.

I hear ya! But...with my 32 gig class 10 card being tossed into the Sensation, and addition of unlocked bootloader, I have NO care for the Hercules. That's why I passed up the G2X, also. MAN!!!! This phone is ALREADY smokin, and it's totally virgin! You take it easy, too! Hope to see you around the forum!

Just picked up the sensation today for my son. Really great phone. Excellent choice. And I just heard that htc will be unlocking the bootloader in the next update. I can wait. Hell, it took samsung, what, six months to get froyo out. I'm patient.

I personally, don't like HTC phones (I don't know why, just a dislike, I've had a MyTouch 4G, and a G2, and for some reason, I don't like them), and have ordered the Samsung Galaxy S 2.
It sucks that I'll have no 3G (doesn't matter), but I'll have an AMAZINGLY fast phone. ^^

this may seem like the dumbest question ever, but how or where do I find the HTC phone for T-Mo? do I have to buy it unlocked from overseas? I can't find it on the T-Mo site or amazon wireless.
