Root Mi2 with Lollipop 5.0 !!
In Xiaomi 2, you need to carry out special procedures to root with the Android Lollilpop (5.0) version.
Credits: http://geek.miui.com/content-14-964-1.html#top
***This root kit is not made by me. I just translated it.***
1. Download the Root Mi2 Lollipop.zip (9.17 MB) in the attachments of this thread.
2. Unzip it in a location you like.
3. Open the "Command Prompt.bat" in the folder.
4. Enter fastboot mode in your Mi2 by shutting down and then long-press VOLUME - AND POWER BUTTON.
5. Connect it to your PC with USB CABLE.
6. In "Command_Prompt.bat" in Root Mi2 Lollipop, enter followings:
Code:
fastboot flash boot bootinsecure.img
fastboot reboot
7. It will then reboot. After boot, Open "Command Prompt.bat" and enter followings:
Code:
adb kill-server
adb root
adb remount
adb push busybox /data/local/busybox
adb shell
su
cd /data/local
chmod 755 busybox
./busybox
mount -o remount,rw /system
mkdir /system/xbin
cp /data/local/busybox /system/xbin
cp /data/local/busybox /system/bin
cd /system/xbin
busybox --install .
sync
reboot
8. This will install the busybox and reboot. After it boots, copy the "BETA-SuperSU-v2.19.zip" into the root directory(/sdcard0). Rename it "update.zip"
9. Shut the phone down. Long-press VOLUME+ AND POWER to open recovery. In recovery, choose the "update.zip" to flash.
10. Reboot and you are done!!
You now has root access on L on your Mi2!!

Having problems with this approach on latest update from Ivan 11.28
Root is working but WiFi stops working at all. Cannot activate it.
Looks like after installing busybox wifi is not operational anymore.
Flashing ROM again helps wifi but removes root. So it is now either root or wifi.
Any other ways to get superuser app working?

Problem rooting with Lollipop with Build LRX22G for MI2
henry0504,
Following your working procedure, I am facing difficulty in rooting my MI2 machine and it is detailed in below.
Before the rooting, I have updated the PC MI2 device USB driver (thru MI Suitre) and up-to-date ADB software. on the PC end.
After above, I have folloewd the rooting instruction provided in thread No. 1 to connect the phone in fastboot mode with PC thru an USB cable . Starting up ADB on PC and executed "fastboot flash boot bootinsecure.img" command with no problem. After issuing "ADB REBOOT" (second step), I am able to see ADB got a positive response from phone. The phone went into the rebooting mode. I have noticed a XIAOMI logo was displayed right in the middle of the phone screen but stayed there forever (more than 20 mins) without any other display. I guess, the phone has entered into a loop state. No choice but have to stopped the rooting process and recovered phone OS by booting system two.
What could be wrong or missing in above?
Below are info you may need to help identify the failed root procedure:
The download package for this update (per instruction)

Relax, I have had met the same issue before but have had the situation fixed already.
In order for us to help, please provide us screen shot of the "about phone" of your phone in trouble.
Or just reply with "model number", "android version" and "MIUI version".

OK. Got you.
I have an Xiaomi MI2. Strongly believe MI2/MI2S /MI2A operates the same.
If this is the first time you flash the phone, I am pretty sure you can recover the phone.
You may want to try below process to recover the phone just before last flash:
1. Power off phone (or take out the battery)
2. First press Vol Up (+) Button and then press Power Button simultaneously and firmly
3. When phone displays the Xiaomi Logo in the middle of the screen, you may now release the buttons
4. Phone is loading (takes a bit longer), wait until the Language Selection page comes up
**use Vol +/- (up/down) to navigate and use power button to select
5. Navigate to English (or Chinese) and select (press Power Button)
6. Navigate to Reboot and select
7. Navigate to "Boot To System Two" and select
8. It will take quite a bit of time for phone to fully boot (be prepared, it may take more than 30 minutes, don't panic)
9. After the reboot, believe System One and Two of phone are the same (identical)
10. You should have the phone recovered now
Wish you good luck...
Don't forget to provide the requested info if you want to root your phone.

Nope, no luck. Tried to boot to both system 1 and 2 but still same issue.
Finally able to flash cwm and reflash the rom again. The latest rom downloaded by MIUI still in the downloaded_rom folder.
So, I guess rooting a Mi2S v7 not yet available.

Sorry to hear you were not able to recover the Android.
Xiaomi 2/2S Android has Global, Special and China version editions.
Only the China version has a Developer version which has the rooted function incorporated already.
Mi 2/2S MIUI 7 was only released in late August for all editions.
The latest China/Developer version is v5.9.2 (MIUI7) and my phone has flashed to this MIUI and ROM.
I have been using the rooted function for programs like Super Backup, ES File Explorer, etc, happily.
IMHO, the newest MIUI and ROM is quite stable.
If you are interested, you may get more info from " http://en.miui.com/download-2.html#2".

I tried to flash my MS2, but now I have no boot and no access to the phone.
Story:
- root via paxChristos' Linux Port of DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit
- backup via Titanium Backup
- backup via Bootstrap
- installed CyanogenMod and the nightly build cm_droid2_full-139.zip
- realized ... it is the wrong Mod, because for Druid2 and I have a Milestone2 = not the same

And now, I have a dead phone ... even could not start it. It is just a black screen and nothing more!
The only thing that show "life" is the LED on the side of the USB-Cable plug!
I also tried Vol-Up/Dwon + Camera, Arrow-Up + Power On, x + Power On ... with and without USB-Cable!
Is there a way to flash the phone anyway?
Would be nice to have a little help!

Your only chance is SBF right now. Hold camera, vol down and power together, which can brings up bootloader mode and then flash it via RSDLite, because sbf_flash did not worked for me.
I made the same mistake myself back in the day .
I could get into bootloader no worries though... are you sure you didn't drain the battery or something?
Just seems pretty odd that you could remove an impossible to unlock, locked bootloader
First of all ... thanks for helping me!

Battery should be ok, it also don't work with Charger on!
If it is impossible to remove the locked bootloader, why can I still not boot?!
If the device bricked only a black screen shows up. This is bootloader mode. RSDLite will recognise your phone and flash an SBF.

Installed bootstrap-1.0.0.5-droid2.apk from SD-Card because:
$ sudo ./adb push bootstrap-1.0.0.5-droid2.apk /system/app/
failed to copy 'bootstrap-1.0.0.5-droid2.apk' to '/system/app//bootstrap-1.0.0.5-droid2.apk': Read-only file system
reboot
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
installzip from sdcard (cm7-111129-2153-NIGHTLY-Milestone2.zip)
reboot ... black screen again!
Maybe the bootstrap installation is the problem?!
I think the message is very clear. The bootstrapper never installed to begin with. Second of all, why are installing the bootstrapper like that? Instead of copying it to your SD-Card and execute it from the file browser on your phone. It will be installed, after which you should execute it. It will ask for root access when you press the bootstrap button. You give it and then you press the button Reboot Recovery. Then you'll be in CWM. You can't install CM7 from Motorola's recovery, which is what you've been doing all the time.
Further: Endless7 has written a guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310641
I'd suggest you follow it, and if you don't understand something ask it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Okay, actual I have my MS2 with the original sbf and I wait until my second MS2 is here.
Then I try to install CM!
Never the less I have questions, just to be sure.
When I install the droid2bootstrap, I just copy the file to the sdcard and then install it at the phone?! Is this correct?
Then the HowTo says: 3.open droid2bootstrap and select install recovery
But there is nothing like "install recovery" to select. There is just a screen with two buttons (Bootstrap Recovery and Reboot Recovery) ... I think "Bootstrap Recovery" first, then reboot?
If I do the steps above, I have an bootloader installed on my phone?! Which I can start with the volume buttons at bootup?
Wow, I have to learn a lot about Android phones! I read the wiki, but asking questions will help me more!
Thanks to you all!
What you described is correct except the startup with volume buttons.
You have to use the Reboot Recovery button to get in CWM, where you can flash CM7.
And just for the record: every phone has a bootloader installed, otherwise it wouldn't be able to boot an OS. Fact is that you can't replace it on the Milestone 2.
Don't mix up Recovery and Bootloader. They're different things.

bootstrap is not copied to /system/app , adb said "failed to copy...".
maybe copy it do /data/app ?
You wiped data and cache.. how about dalvik?
Because the copy failed, I installed the app from the sdcard (/data/app was also read only).
But as described here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310641) I used the wrong app!
IMHO it is the same to copy the app via adb or install it from sdcard?!
What the shizzle, you are making it so hard for yourself.
If you simply place the .apk file onto the root of you SD card, then using your phone, open the .apk, install it, then open the installed app, you will have no problems at all. I'm not sure of your motivation to try other methods when it allready works fine
Also, i would say that since it has apparently failed for you, no it isn't the same
EDIT: on a side note, it would seem you flashed the official gingerbread sbf, so now you will only be able to use the gingerbread kernel roms. Which is pretty much the cm9 alpha version, endless 7's cm7 defy port. Not really sure about the other gb rom (argen2stone, blurless etc). So make sure you read up on what you need and what will work

Hello friend, i am having the same problem then you...
It only show black screen and the led on the side of the usb cable and i also tried Vol-Up/Dwon + Camera, Arrow-Up + Power On, x + Power On ... with and without USB-Cable, as you and nothing...
Can you help me? please!
Do you have RSDLite? If yes, then RSDLite should detect your phone as it is already in bootloader mode (the black screen). You can flash an SBF at this point.
Download an appropriate one, if you were on Froyo then Froyo and in case you had upgraded to Gingerbread then download a GB SBF.
Flash the SBF. You would probably end up in a bootloop. Go to moto recovery, wipe data and boot. You should be good to go.
Edit: I believe that only GB sbf is gonna work for you as I suspect that you were somehow on GB and then tried to flash Froyo which led you to the black screen.
Hi Guys,
I am a noob to xda so please bear with me...
Hoping someone can help me out here.. I will try and explain in as much detail as possible and provide you with as much Info from my phone as I can.
Firstly my phones details
Motorola Atrix 4g (UK version) Second phone as busted the last one. Bought outright as a retail sale.
Orange UK
System Version: 45.31.0.MB860.Retail.en.GB
Android Version: 2.3.4 (After UK released update)
Baseband Version: N_01.100.00R
Webtop Version: WT-1.2.0.133_38
Kernel Version: 2.66.32.9 [email protected]#2
Ok so, decided to root my phone. To do so I used petesMotorolaRootTools_V1.07 found on the website psouza4.com/bionic/
This worked fine and an app installed from the App Market confirmed that the phone was Rooted and had Superuser permissions.
Next I downloaded ClockWorkMod Rom Manager from the Market Inc Premium, SetCPU, Rom Toolbox & Titanium Backup Free. I had a quick look at these apps once downloaded but didnt really do a lot,
However, when Rom Manager opened it promted me to Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery, Which I did and then selected Back up current Rom. I also did this, (bear with me it gets a little vague here as to what I remember seeing)
Now I'm sure it said something like Nandroid Backup, which I selected. It proceeded to say something along the lines of, Backing up or phone will now reboot??
Anyhow, what ever it said, it started to reboot. The Motorola Red Circle logo came up but then at the top it said reboot failed and something ilse that didnt make sense then froze. I pulled the battery and rebooted. Seemed to work fine. Maybe a touch laggy but nothing to bad.
Next did my research into what ROM I'm likely to want to try. Found a few but seemed from what I have read on various forums that they dont work well for uk phones. Then decided perhaps then flashing should be left alone and went back to PetesMotorolaTools and unrooted. before I unrooted however i removed all apps that required root access first. Possibly a mistake?
I noticed that a few preinstalled apps werent working, nothing important or anything I use but there icons were like Blue settings icons all the same.
Did a factory reset through the handset also, in an attempt to return to factory settings.. not much changed really. Also tried to update software though the Motorola website but it said I was all up to date.
I thought maybe that something went wrong so I rooted again. This time the unroot failed. I then dowloaded all the rooted apps that I had before and then unrooted. This worked. Not sure if coincedence or not but it worked and when unrooting it said unfreezing apps about 6 times, before the complete message. Then uninstalled the root apps again.
Most, not all but most of those preinstalled apps were then working ok.
I read a little bit more bout Roms and decided to have another bash. Found and downloaded a few to comp. Then I place an SD card into phone and Flashed it. then tranferred a copy to its root.
Rooted the phone in the same way as before. Downloaded all the apps again opened CWM RM, Flashed CWM Recovery again as was unsure that the time I did it before would work. Then selected back up Current ROM. Without any message this time the phone started to reboot.
It came up with the recovery screen (Android man and !) From what I have read the next step is to tap the bottom right of the screen to bring up the menu.
This did not work nor did anything else happen. After waiting about 25mins with nothing more happening I pulled the batt again.
Decided I'd boot into recovery mode manually and see if the bottom right of screen would work that way. turned off then held On and down Vol. Fastboot showed at top, Scrolled and selected Android recovery. Same Android Man and ! came up, tried tapping the bottom right of screen again.... It didnt work.
Read more on the forums where someone said that pushing up and down on the Vol buttons works. Tried this and hey presto.. a new menu appears. Shown as follows.
Android system recovery <3e>
Android system recovery utility
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
No back up options so rebooted....
Anyway thought I'd try a few times to use CWM RM to flash a rom to device. Each time it took me throught this same process.
Eventually I though what the hec just try and flash it...
So I selected the apply update from sdcard option.
Then selected the ROM I saved to SD Card.
Then the following text appears on screen in yellow.
--Install /sdcard...
finding update package...
Openeing update package...
Verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
Installation abborted
I tried this a few times to no avail. even tried downloading the roms from CWM RM with no change.
Read some more on the forums and somewhere read to rename the ROM update.zip
Did this and tried again.... No Joy!!!
Selected Fix permissions in an attempt to clean up and thats as far as I have got...
I'm at the end of my tether and dont know what to do...
Please, please, please someone help me get to the bottom of my dilemma..
Thanks for reading and any help in advance.
Just a little more info to help diagnose

Thanks again peoples for taking the time to at least read this..
No where in there did I see "I unlocked my bootloader"
That's fine that you're rooted, but to use CWM Recovery, install ROMs, make Nandroid Backups, etc. you need to unlock your bootloader first! See the international part of the Pudding thread (since your in UK) in the dev section.
Sent from my CM7 Atrix 4G
Ah Hah! You are correct at no point did I unlock my Booty, Thank you I shall give that a go and report back...
Ok so, I have trawled the forum and many others this avo on my research quest to unlock the bootloader as advised above but have been unsucessful so far.
I used the Pudding thread as you said.
when downloading the files advised I noticed that some were downloading as unrecognised files. I still proceeded to follow instructions as written.
Some of them like the RSD Lite I managed to unzip and extract with a programme I have however the next one needed said it was Undefined File type.
Anyway I deleted those files and tried following the other method listed underneath the driver via the link at "Guide for beginners provided by..."
This was unsucessfull as the "fastboot oem unlock" command was not recognised.
Pulled the batt and rebooted into normal mode and I'm back at SQ1
Bit stuck if anyone has any ideas..
Ok, here goes...
1) Make sure you have the drivers installed on your computer. (Available in Pudding Thread)
2) Go to pudding thread, and grab the Unlock Only IHOP sbf file (assuming your not on AT&T).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
"Unlock:
Unlocker only SBFs - These small 1mb SBF files will get your phone ready to fasboot oem unlock. They are the files most people should use.
ATT ONLY - Unlocker for 1.8.3 and 4.5.91 ATT firmwares
Orange/Bell/Telestra/Latin America/International users ONLY - Download IHOP"
3) Download & install RSD Lite. (Available in Pudding Thread)
4) Put phone in RSD Protocol Mode.
a) Power off phone
b) Upon Powering ON, hold Power Button + Volume UP
5) Connect Phone to computer via USB
6) unzip the IHOP sbf file to root of your C:\, open RSD Lite program, and drag sbf file onto File Name Box. Make sure RSD Lite sees your device connected to it, and then flash away.
7) After the sbf has flashed (hopefully without any errors), reboot your phone into fastboot mode (Power Button + Volume Down; when you see fastboot, press volume up to enter fastboot mode).
8) Re-connect phone to computer if you disconnected it.
9) In the folder where your fastboot files are located (if you don't have fastboot files, go download them from sticky in General Section), press Shift + Right Click, select Open Command Window Here.
10) With phone in fastboot mode, connected to PC and command window open in fastboot file location, type:
fastboot oem unlock
*This will give you your device #
Then type:
fastboot oem unlock [insert your # here]
10) Bootloader should unlock, then type fastboot reboot to reboot the phone. Should say Unlocked on boot screen now, if all went well.
11) Install Rom Racer's Recovery or Rom Manager, and you're good to go.
Think that about cover it... if you have any problems, give details of what is happening and at what step. Also, check the Pudding thread for possible solutions, as most problems have already been solved there.
Thank you for your explanation... I will give it a go when I get back from work tomorrow...
I appreciate you taking the time to help..

A BIG THANKS!!!
Thanks so much for the advice and instructions... Unlocked beautifully... Now to find the ideal ROM....
Dont suppose there are any suggestions for International (UK) Atrix users??
Really appriciate the help..
Regards
Danny
I would recommend that you flashed TWRP 2.0 through CWM direct link. It lets you have touch screen in recovery; much easier! Then if you like CM7 you could try this or if you like the MIUI style (like me!) you would want to try this! It hasn't in-game audio yet but it's much cooler in my opinion. But Neutrino CM7 is really great!
Im not sure, maybe someone else can confirm. You should be using moto-fastboot to unlock & not regular fastboot, right?

People have had problems with TWRP.............stick with Romracers CWM, it's tried and trusted. If the touch screen in CWM gets you off, so be it, but I'd rather have a recovery that works with all ROM's, and not just some.
I lost my root after the official firmaware upgrade now i cannot root it . Please help I have tried everything in XDA please help..... frustrated as hell

i also have an e617g on 4.1.2 bell network id like to root and unlock the bootloader so i can install cwm and finally swap roms, this is a nice phone but it barely exists on the web any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
Never mind figured it out myself. I may post a guide here soon. Seeing as any help I ask for is ignored. I'd rather help than hold back
Turn your lG-e617g into an LG-e610 then root it and install cyanogenmod.

this is my first tutorial so message me if something on here isnt clear.
step 1: download things, this is crucial, you need to download this stuff, it took me a while to find everything that ACTUALLY WORKED so i have it all in a nice little package to download.
step 2: make sure your phone is NOT plugged in the computer, install drivers if you do not have them. i have the drivers that worked for me in the package via direct download links. if they dont work for you somethings screwy with your computer and youll have to scour the internet to find drivers that'll work, google is your friend.
step 3: make sure your phone is recognised with your lappytop or computer. thats right i said lappytop, so sue me.
step 4nce all the drivers are installed and your phone is connected to the computer youll want to open up the folder labled: "LG FlashTool and Accessories" inside youll find "KDZ_FW_UPD.exe" open that right up.
step 5: next youll see a modded lg tool made by some guy on the internet, im not sure who but he/she did a good job thanks man/wo-man!!
ok youll want to leave all settings to default dont touch any thing, its good to go as is.
step 6: make sure phone is plugged in and usb debugging is enabled, use the kdz updater to browse for this file (download it via links in the package) "V10D_downgrade.kdz" then click on "Launch software update" this takes a while go make a coffee.
step 7: when its done its magic, your phone will boot up and youll see the LG logo for about 10 minutes any longer and your in a boot loop remove battery put it back in and hold both volume buttons down and power at the same time. time it carefully the lights on the soft keys will come on and a split second later the phone will slightly vibrate, the second you feel that press the home and hold it for about 10 seconds and the phone will do a hard reset, the phone will turn on now and initiate the first time use wizard, its in russian at first so just change your language to whatever, assuming english here. the phones software is now rooted just no su/superuser installed download from play store and update binary in settings of su app.
step 8: Unlocking bootloader time! after you flashed the software using kdz updater your phones ID is now technically an e610 now instead of an e617g, so unlocking the bootloader is now possible, connect your phone to computer, turn usb debugging on and drag and drop "emmc_appsboot.bin" into the root of your INTERNAL SD, also kill 2 birds with one stone here by also copying the recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.8-e610.img you downloaded via links in the txt document to the same place just rename it "recovery.img to make it easier also make sure you place the cm rom in the external sd. we need the bootloader unlocked to allow for cwm installation and good ol' rom swapping, open the folder "ADB" hold shift right click any where in the folder and select open "command window here",
type in the cmd window obviously without quotations: "adb shell" hit enter, then type "su" enter again then type "dd if=/sdcard/emmc_appsboot.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5" your bootloader is now unlocked, now type in "dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17" this just installed clockwork mod. to boot into recovery and install cyanogen (the one im using. btw its a powerhouse compared to stock!!!) type in "reboot recovery"
step 9: factory reset, clear partition, wipe dalvik cache, install cyanogen, reboot, ENJOY.
seems i cant upload the programs needed so all i can do is this:

changes the phones id from e617g to e610, startup wizard is in russian at first simply change to english.

That happens when the kdz file is corrupted. Redownload the firmware and try again
its more than likely a bad connection causing a bad download also are you starting off with an e617g or e610?
Will all app data, contacts, etc. be lost using this method? Thanks in advance!

Hello guys. Recently I bought this Letv S1 Pro. Its a total beast with awesome looks. As its a Chinese device the playstore didn't come as built in. After some research in various chinese sites I have manged to install TWRP, Gapps and even root my device.
The Tutorial is described here.
http://bbs.letv.com/thread-643672-1.html
But its in chinese. So here I am going to share it for you.
Guide to install TWRP , Root and Gapps
1. At first go to developer option in your phone and tick "USB Debugging"
2. Then connect to your phone and install all the drivers which should be automatically installed. Check device manager whether your pc detected your phones adb or not. If not then you have to do some more works. At first download latest google usb drivers from here and extract.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html#
Now from device manager in your pc right click on the unrecognized Adb interface and select update driver. Then locate the usb driver that you just downloaded and choose list of devices. Choose Android phone from the list of devices and install the drivers and reboot your pc. This will install the adb drivers.
3. Then download X800 TWRP Recovery 2.8.7.0, SuperSU 2.52, and Letv google-new from the follwing liks
http://dstats.net/fwd/c0bgu (Credit goes to @MrRusch)
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-mgR2LkvkEtUWZQVXZVSVFScEU&usp=sharing
4. Copy SuperSu and Letv google-new to your phone
5. Extract X800 TWRP Recovery 2.8.7.0 in you pc and then connect your phone to pc with USB debugging on
6. Launch the recovery batch file and press enter and follow the instruction. You may have to press enter again and again 2-3 times to complete the recovery flashing.
7. If all things goes well your phone should reboot to TWRP recovery.
8. Flash SuperSU and Letv google new via TWRP. You should flash any of these when you first boot in to TWRP otherwise you may end getting TWRP replaced by stock recovery. It's weird but this is how it works
Download debloated roms from here and enjoy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/letv-x800-ruschrom-1-0-25e-t3224702 (Credit goes to @MrRusch)
Please press thanks if you like it.
I am not an expert, so pardon me if there any mistake.
Did you buy it from oppomart? How do you like the build quality, Camera and battery life. etc..? Add some screenshots. :good:
Dear, I bought it through my friend in china. The built quality is top notch. The phone feels a little heavy but the looks is killer. The camera is great. The images are sharp and have vivid colors. My only complain will be it's battery. You will only get about a day out of it. Hope it will be fixed with updates. Here are some screenshots.

Guide to install TWRP , Root and Gapps
1. At first go to developer option in your phone and tick "USB Debugging"
2. Then connect to your phone and install all the drivers which should be automatically installed. Oh, one thing you pc should have the adb drivers installed. If you have already done some flashing activities with your pc then it should be already installed there so don't worry about that.
3. Then go to this link and download Update SuperSU 2.46, Letv Le1 TWRP recovery and Letv google-new
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1c0rUOuO#path=%252FLETV
4. Copy SuperSu and Letv google-new to your phone
5. Extract Letv Le1 TWRP recovery in you pc and then connect your phone to pc with USB debugging on
6. Launch the chinese recovery batch file and press enter. You may have to press enter again and again 2-3 times to complete the recovery flashing.
7. If all things goes well your phone should reboot to TWRP recovery. At first you will see a chinese TWRP welcome screen but don't worry. Just tap the big button at the middle.
8. Then in the second screen tap the first button which is basically the install button and flash SuperSU by swiping. After that go back and return to the main menu. Tap the last button which is basically the reboot button and in second screen tap the first button which basically reboot to system and voila you will have SuperSu installed.
9. Now go to your pc and download a TWRP theme from here
https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/z31s1g/1440/TWRP%20287X_v1
10. Make a folder named "theme" and copy the downloaded theme from the upper link inside this folder and rename it to "ui"
11. Copy this theme folder in to the TWRP folder of your phone
12. Then again power off your phone and and go to recover by volume up + power button and voila you will have English TWRP.
13. Now again flash the Letv google-new and reboot and you will have playstore installed.
Please press thanks if you like it.

Great review!
I also used your tutorial video to sideload Google services after factory resetting my x600. It came from oppomart with the Play Store already installed and Google launcher automatically running. But I've had a lot of issues with the phone so I did a reset and your tutorial was very helpful. Thank you so much! Very professional!

Hi!
Was someone able to finish the tutorial ?
adb doesn't detect my device, the bat file can't do anything
I had already adb and fastboot configured in my PATH(available via the cmd) and they are updated.
USB Debugging was activated and I tried the 3 connections methods
- Media device (MTP)
- Camera(PTP)
- Charge only
Apparrently it is a problem related to the USB Driver:
hassib85, do you know if there's a usb driver provided by Letv ?

I don't know. I didn't install any drivers. My pc automatically detected my phone. One thing you need to allow adb from your pc in your phone. When you try the batch file a dialogue box should pop out i your phone that your pc trying to connect via adb, you need to allow that in you phone. If this also don't work try this, go to recovery in your phone while phone connected to pc. This also install some drivers. Just wait for the drivers to be installed and again restart your pc.
This tutorial worked perfectly. I'd add that you must remember to reboot your PC after installing all drivers and ADB drivers. I was held up for hours until I was like, "DUH!!". Then I side loaded TWRP in Chinese and used your guide and link to get the English theme. Voila!!
No ADB drivers
Hello from France,
First I would like to thank you for your time, it is great to regroup some S1 pro owners.
Here is my version :
CURRENT : 5.0.2 5.0.002s stable 81s
I have several problems:
-some bloatware crashe
-can't root (with your tuto ) because I don't have ADB drivers
-I can't update to 5.0.003S via the update application, it fails I don't know why.

-some bloatware crashe
-can't root (with your tuto ) because I don't have ADB drivers
-I can't update to 5.0.003S via the update application, it fails I don't know why.
Hope I will fixe all these pb with your help.

Hi Meleor,
I was also finally able to make the batch file work but same problem that you are describing...stuck at step 7 with the Tux Pinguin then if a press Enter and the window closes.
Could you please describe me what you did to make it work ? (je suis français aussi, merci d'avance pour ton aide!)
Ok I was finally able to make it but i'm really not sure what was different, i did several reboots and changed several times the adb driver until having in the "Device Manager" window:
a component named "CMCC ADB Device" and then
as a sub-component, something named "CMCC Composite ADB Interface"
Then the batch finally worked.
Thanks a lot hassib85 for the translation!

Well I updated the android version manually and then I insisted and it worked ! It is great if it works for you mate.
What build are you ? I reached the 5.0.2 5.0.003s now and everything works fine for me.
Hi guys,
I just bought this morning the LeTV One Pro from Oppomart.com, i hope that everything is going to be fine about the shipping... My first question : Did you buy it from Oppomart as well ? And how long did it take to receive it in France ? (Je suis aussi français).
Can you make a writing review, just to tell us your impressions about camera, battery, EUI, if the Snapdragon 810 gets really warm ? How about the 4K or 1080p capture ? As i read on the web that it's in .3gp format ?!! :-/ How about the fact that the language is only in english ? I'm comfortable with this language but just wondering it it can be problematic in a daily use ? I hope that LeTV will release an update with multilanguages...
Also, what about 4G and 3G signal, as 800mhz is missing ? It was missing as well on my Huawei Mediapad X1 that i bought and imported from China but i never felt any trouble with 4G signal (I'm with Bouygues Telecom).
Anyway, any feedback from you guys would be really appreciate meanwhile i'm waiting my LeTV smartphone

Well, after 2 days of struggling hacks to have the right android version and implement the root i can say I am very happy with the phone.
Negative points: i have 3,6gb of ram not really 4gb; 4k camera is a little crappy but it will be improve with new version i guess; very warm phone with the snapdragon 810 heat problem; the EUI is adapted to chinese so i had to fl a launcher so it is now convenient;
I ordered it for 499euros on aliexpress and it came in 10 days with dhl express.
I will be happy to help you if needed

Thanks for your feedback. Finally i cancelled my order this morning, and i think i made the right choice when i read your negative points. The thing is it's their first smartphones, with snapdragon 810 sadly which is known for is warm/heat issues (i had the HTC One M9, i keep it one week and then i returned it), and i guess they have lot of things to learn about UI optimization, hardware, etc... Plus, i read online that chinese constructor are quite lame with update...
I was hesitating between LeTV 1 pro and LeTV MAX (but i think that LeTV MAX will be released in 8th august, but i saw on websites that it's already available so i'm quite confused :-/ ), i'll be following closely this thread of course and how their update fix all the issues that i've been reading on different forums (they're already fixed lot of issues).. But for the moment i'll stick with my Nexus 6

To download official Rom of Letv S1 Pro go here

I am not an expert, so pardon me if there any mistake.

I'm trying to change the TWRP in to english but it doesn't work
I made a folder and named it theme, then I made a new folder inside the theme folder named it ui and then extract the file which i grap from here: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/z31s1g/1440/TWRP%20287X_v1"]https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/z31s1g/1440/TWRP%20287X_v1
but the twrp menu is still in Chinese, what am I doing wrong?
Firstly, I'd like to start by saying that I am making this post because there is little information on the T-Mobile LG K7(K330) and what little information is found is scattered throughout the site.
The LG K7 is a budget phone and you do get the biggest bang for your buck if money is tight. Right now, you can get the Walmart version (for $50!) and flash it to T-Mobile which I will explain in the steps below.
I HAVE ONLY TESTED THIS ON THE WALMART FAMILY MOBILE VERSION OG THE LG K7, THIS PROBABLY WON'T WORK WITH OTHER DEVICES
This is a really great phone and awesome phone to start developing on if one chooses to do so. That being said, let's go ahead and flash the phone to T-Mobile if you haven't already. Most of this information came from Billybobjoe13245's Beautiful Post
Disclaimer: I tested this on Android Lollipop version 5.1.1 and that's what worked. Feel free to try whatever you feel but in any case, I am not responsible for what YOU do to YOUR device, if YOU mess up, YOU will have to deal with the consequnces. Now that that's out of the way,
You're going to need:
Windows Computer with Administative Priviledges (because LG binaries)
An LG K7 (K330)
A USB Cable
About 20 minutes
Once you have all those ready, start downloading the necessary files:
LG UP Software (You're looking for Lab Version 1.10) OFFICIAL | MIRROR
LG Mobile Driver Software(I used ver. 4.0.4.0 but the latest might work) TESTED VERSION | LATEST OFFICIAL
The "WEB_K33010h_00.kdz" file from Billybobjoe13245's Mega Repo
And now it begins.
Install the Mobile Driver Software
Install the LG UP Software
Turn you LG K7 off
Turn on your K7 while holding the DOWN button to boot into Download Mode
Open the LG UP Software
Select "Upgrade" in the separator between the two lists
Hover over "BIN FILE" under "FILE TYPE" and you should see three dots (...) to select a file
Here you select where you've downloaded the WEB file
Click start and let it do it's thing
Once it is finished it will reboot your device and tell you that it has been completed. You should now be able to use a T-Mobile nano-SIM card with absolutely no issues.
Next you Probably want to
ROOT YOUR DEVICE
THIS WILL COMPLETELY WIPE YOUR PHONE SO BACK UP WHATEVER YOU NEED TO
You'll need an internet connection for this to work properly . Let's go:
Make sure your phone has enough charge (%75+)
Go to Settings > General > About Phone > Software Info
Click Build Number 7 times or until it says "You are now a developer"
Go back to General Settings
Go to "Developer Options"
Enable "OEM Unlock"
Enable "USB Debugging"
Next youl'll want to make sure that you have the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) installed. If you don't have it , these guys have your back. Make certain that it is correctly installed and that you can access it using your command line.
Download this Team Win Recovery Project image on your PC (it's from my mirror)
Make sure it 's in the folder that ADB is in or that ADB can recognize
Plug in your phone into your computer if it's not already
You'll want to boot into the bootloader using adb so type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Wait for it to reboot into the bootloader (shouldn't take long)
MAKE SURE THAT IT SAYS "BOATLOADER UNLOCKED" ON THE TOP LEFT, IF NOT
Type the follow to confirm that it sees your device:
Code:
fastboot devices
If you see you're device, all is good. Now we have to unlock the bootloader with:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
If it reboots, use adb to go back to the bootloader
Time to flash the recovery with:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-image-3.img
Finally:
Code:
fastboot reboot
You now have the TWRP recovery on your phone but YOU'RE NOT DONE AS YOU DONT HAVE ROOT PERMISSIONS and your phone should have been wiped clean so you might have to reinput your details.
To finish getting root access:
Make sure youer phone is still plugged in
Download ChainFire's SuperSu on your computer
Move SuperSu from wherever you downloade it to your device
Reboot your phone into recovery by turning it off and turning it back on while HOLDING the UP button.
You should see the TWRP recovery screen.
Click install and choose the SuperSU zip file that you downloaded from ChainFire's site
If you want, you can select "Reboot after Installation" if you wish.
Swipe the slider all the way to right to start the install
Reboot
You should now have SuperSu on your device , allowing you root access
That's all you need if all you wanted is to root, but you're probably going to want BusyBox, Xposed Framework and an Equalizer if you're like me because by default the sound is terrible and Equalizers like Viper4Android makes it a whole lot better and works with Spotify! Let's get started:
How to get BusyBox
It's actually pretty simple.
Go to Play Store
Search "BusyBox"
Download "BusyBox" or "BusyBox Pro" by Stephen(Stericson)
Install it
Open it
Select the directory where you would like it installed, I installed in both "/system/xbin" and "system/bin" for everything to work how I wanted
It will ask you to grant it Root Permissions, select "GRANT"
Wait for it to install
You now have BusyBox!
If you don't know what BusyBox is, to put it shortly , it's a set of command line tools for Unix and Unix-like systems, like Android, to make things a bit more developer friendly. You can read more at he BusyBox official site.
Next I'll show you how to get the
Xposed Framework
Most of this information came from this post so if you need more information, read that post.
Go to Settings > General and select "Security" under the "Privacy" Category.
Scroll down to the "Phone Administration" category and make sure "Unknown Sources" is checked.
Download The Xposed 3.1 apk installer on your phone
Install it
The actual framework won't work because you have to install it in your recovery so then,
Download the LG K7 Xposed Framework image and put it on your phone's internal storage
Reboot into recovery and Install the Xposed Framework image you just put on your device.
Once it is installed, you can reboot and it should be working in the app.
Lastly, if you want better sound, you'll want
ViPER4ANDROiD
Most (if not all) of this information came from this post.
Go to Settings > General > Developer Options
Scroll down to the "Media Category" and select "Use AwesomePlayer (deprecated)" as Viper won't work with NuPlayer
Download SELinux Mode Changer OFFICIAL | MIRROR
Install it
Open it and grant it Root Permissions
Select Permissive Mode
Download this version of ViPER4ANDROiD | MIRRIR
Reboot into Recovery and Install the ViPER4ANDROiD zip file
Once it's done, you can reboot
Open the ViPER4ANDROiD app
It will ask you to install/update the driver
It should continue with no problems and you should have better sound
And you're done! That's everything I know thus far. There are no custom ROMs yet but I want to attempt on working on one(although I've never developed or ported a ROM before) as soon as I get all the information on how to do so . Be sure to thank the Original Posters/Developers and donate to them if you have the means as they put a lot of time and effort into bringing you the best experience possible.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if I forgot something or if there is a type and I will fix it right away!
i have a K7 from metropcs, but sim unlocked working absolutely perfectly on tmobile. all i did was get metropcs to unlock my sim, and i was only with them for nearly 2 weeks, not 90 days. anyways, we have a twrp for the lg k7 thread here on xda too, with lots of other modding talk going on in it http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/qa-metro-pcs-lg-k7-lgms330-t3331678 btw, there is no such thing as an official team win recovery project for the k7, it is ported to the k7.

yea, the k7 isnt popular enough for official twrp
Nice writeup OP.
Unfortunately, I picked up the TMobile branded K7, unlocked the bootloader, then attempted to flash twrp -- I can never boot into TWRP (I get the red exclamation warning).
Is there any hope for me?
If I return it and and then pick up the walmart one will it support my Tmobile 4G/LTE?
Thanks.

Thanks, I'll attempt to add more details. I purchased this phone (walmart.com/ip/T-Mobile-LG-K7-TD-Prepaid-Smartphone/51671353).
Model #: LG-K330
Software version: K33010h
1. Used windows (via virtualization) to update to WEB_K33010h_00.kdz and it worked.
1a. enable dev settings, usb debug, oem unlock.
2. Downloaded adb bridge for Mac which comes with adb and fastboot commandline tools
3. plug in phone and ran 'adb reboot bootlader' to enter bootloader in order to use fastboot to unlock
4. run 'fastboot oem unlock', rebooted and use 'adb reboot bootloader' to flash twrp -- I now see bootloader unlocked in upper left
5. run '.fastboot flash recovery twrp-image-3.img' and 'fastboot reboot'
6, at this point I just shut off my phone and attempt to enter recovery with "Reboot your phone into recovery by turning it off and turning it back on while HOLDING the UP button."
It is at that point I see the android icon with a red exclamation. I have to pull out my battery to reboot the phone.

Before step 5, try copying this into the cmd prompt:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-image-3.img
and then allow it to make modifications to your system. Then go to reboot > bootloader and then let it install supersu, then flash the TWRP image in step 5. This fixed the red triangle problem for me. Also, once you are back in android, tap the notification for SuperSU and tap TWRP to let it finish the process.
Hey, @Bughora I can't seem to boot to recovery via the key combo you describe. I hold Vol-UP and then press and hold power while still holding Vol-UP and also tried without holding power, but it doesn't take me to TWRP. If I hold both Power+Vol-UP, oddly it will start optimizing apps again but if I don't continue to hold Power, it just boots normally... am I misinterpreting what you mean in the OP?
EDIT: Other methods of getting to recovery like "adb reboot recovery" work flawlessly.

You're welcome. Also, try this version of TWRP which will let you boot into TWRP with the hardware keys described in the OP. Here is a snippet of the OP explaining how:
Twrp with button combo.
With device off press and hold power and volume down until LG logo pops up quickly release the power and press power quickly until the factory reset dialog pops up press volume down to yes press power to select than it will show the same dialog with yes already selected use power to select and you will be taken to Twrp recovery.

I know it says factory reset, but it will take you to TWRP. If you are hesitant (like I was initially), boot to recovery with ADB first, make a backup, and then try it. Good luck, and happy modding!

update:
Doh! I just saw that the TWRP link is posted just above this post. :silly:
Okay so I'm very new to all this so I apologize ahead of time if my issue is super simple but I don't know what to do. I've been following the steps word for word (had a couple minor hiccups) and I'm at the point where I need to install supersu. I moved the zip file to my internal storage, then when I attempt to restart the phone in recovery mode it automatically goes into download mode followed by freezing at software update, instead of letting me choose to install supersu as the steps state. Can someone help me figure this out please?
EDIT: Well it took me a while but I figured out my issue. From what I understand, the twrp was successfully flashed on my phone but when rebooting the manufacturer kernal was wiping that recovery and replacing with the stock recovery. Instead of rebooting with adb I manually turned off my phone then booted up my phone into the recovery and the twrp menu came up!

Wait for it to reboot into the bootloader (shouldn't take long)
MAKE SURE THAT IT SAYS "BOATLOADER UNLOCKED" ON THE TOP LEFT, IF NOT
Type the follow to confirm that it sees your device:
If you see you're device, all is good. Now we have to unlock the bootloader with:
If it reboots, use adb to go back to the bootloader
Time to flash the recovery with:
Finally:

Try installing this official version of TWRP with the TWRP app. Or using this command in terminal
Code:
dd if='/path/to/TWRP/image' of='/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery'
Also, if that doesn't work. It's most likely because you didn't unlock the bootloader. Go to "Step Nine: Unlocking The Bootloader" on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/ref-metro-pcs-lg-k7-lgms330-t3362555
