Hi guys,
I'm wondering why the Android 5 update is not showing up anymore on my Nexus 4? It was available a few days ago but I wanted to do a nandroid backup before proceeding so I chose "Later" (or something like that) to the update proposal. And now I can't find that update anymore! I went to Settings and System updates but it says my device is up-to-date...
Does anybody have an explanation to this?
Thank you.

if you want to update just do it manually or use wug toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...olkit-wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v1-8-2-t2015469
i updated with wug and all is good.
P.S. if you update manually or with wug read the entire procedure first
thanks for your reply. I know how to do it manually, but I was wondering WHY the update was not available anymore after I chose "Later"...

maybe later has a timer like 3 days or one week???
I believe the OTA has been pulled from Google's servers because of an SMS bug.

Mine also disappeared for almost a week. Just got it back this morning though Waiting till tonight to apply it - if i get a bug, i'll have time to resolve it...
same thing happening here ota not showing up anymore
I got a lollipop OTA update on my phone about 3 weeks ago and wanted to wait till the factory image was on the developer site because whenever I try to install over the air updates I get Andy lying on his back dead with a red exclamation stuck in his belly. Then I heard about the bug so I wanted to wait for the 5.0.1 update factory image to be available as a image and now that it is, I went to try the OTA first before trying to flash or side load anything and poof not there. On top of that when using the nexus tool kit I can't get an adb connection. I'm having no luck here.

Hi,
Yesterday or so I read on the net HTC europe released a new rom. But when I try to update my Legens says there is no update available for my device. I tried with both 3g and wifi on as I read somewhere that could make a difference.
I used a goldcard to unbrand my vodafone legend but the last OTA update worked fine so I assume this cant be a problem now? (as far as I can see my Legend is totally stock).
Are there more people having this problem or now how to fix it?
I got an ota popup yesterday, downloaded and installed the update, and since then the phone has been restarting randomly all the time (no other difference that I've noticed so far), so I wouldn't be in a hurry to update if I were you
Update working for me..
I got the OTA update as well yesterday. Updated succesfully, legend works without problems.
I tried to update with my rooted phone, but the update stops after a while and an image of a phone with a question mark is shown.. Then the phone reboots like nothing happened.. Anyone else has this problem?
yeh it had the phone with the question mark and then it shows the phone without a question mark. i downloaded the update and installed it but when i checked the software info its still 1.405.4. my phone is rooted too
Same here, question mark ... no way to upgrade... we need Help from Paul
I gather these firmware updates are not documented anywhere what they fix?
There's any way to check the build version this tablet started on (JRN84D probably) and those that were installed via ota after that? Right now it has JWR66V, but would like to know the jumps that it had done on this device (it wasn't mine before and I'd like to know what ota jumps this received).
For example, it did JRN84D->JRO03C->JRO03D or JRN84D->JRO03D directly?
I know that it went from 4.1 to 4.3 via OTAs only.
Maybe any config. file that saves history ota information or anything?
Thanks in advance.
I have waited all long to get this official ota update. Now when I get it, it downloads the whole 185 mb update and at the end shows 'Verification Failed'. It then gives me one option 'check now'. When I press that, it starts downloading all over again. I've downloaded this over 5 times and still getting the same thing. Please help!
My device is completely unrooted, running stock recovery, stock rom, even didn't install an app from other than Play store.
And I'm not the only one with this problem. I've seen others with this same problem in Nexus community. But no one has got any solution. Only a few of them were lucky to get it verified properly after downloading the update a few times.

My completely stock Nexus 4 has done this about 15 times up to now. Perhaps this is a country/zone issue, since I bought the phone in the UK and am using it in India?

I haven't done anything like that, though its true that I bought it in India when just one batch came imported. So it may happen like that they are thinking that my device was bought in US when actually not.
But I want a solution! Tell me if you find one.

I've finally gotten it to download and verify. I simply installed TunnelBear (VPN with monthly 500MB free), chose the UK server option, and waited. This could potentially have been a coincidence though, in which case you may have received the update as well. Have you?
I wonder if anyone can help.
My Nexus 4 had updated itself happily to Lollipop 5.0 and it was working nicely, except that when the 5.0.1 update arrived it showed the android on its back with a red "!" so I assumed it was due to the phone being rooted and unlocked (although 5.0 had installed without any problem).
I have since upgraded to a OnePlus One so I decided to wipe the Nexus, unroot and re-lock it in preparation for selling it so I used Nexus Root Toolkit (my regular rooting tool) to do all of that. I tried loading 5.0.1 through it and it installed but couldn't see my Wi-Fi, although it did see someone else's. After trying a couple of times I tried 5.0 and that was the same so eventually I tried 4.4.4 and that was successful.
The plan was to leave it plugged in and charging so that it would automatically receive the Lollipop updates but it's been a week now with me regularly pressing the 'check for update' button but there is no sign of them.
I don't think there is any other way to force the updates but can you think of anything that might be stopping them? Nexus Root Toolkit downloaded the images from Google so presumably they're OK, the play store loaded and updated my apps, the time updates when I press 'check for update' yet no O/S updates appear. I can't sell it if it's not updating itself so any help would be much appreciated. It couldn't be because I have OEM locked it could it? I can't remember if it was unlocked when I got it but it made sense to do it.

I would flash the factory image using fastboot to 5.0.1. You'll have to unlock the device again. I'm not a fan of tool kits

In the toolkit options enable "Force Flash Mode" and try again; this will fastboot flash the img files individually and overcome the issues with Google's new Lollipop factory packs, where the fastboot update cmd, is not working properly (as written in their own incldued flash-all.bat).
In the future.. rather than PM'ing me and making a thread.. just post in the NRT threads.

It took a lot of fiddling about and several boot loops but eventually I managed to install 5.0 (using NRT) and it updated to 5.0.1 (which is what I wanted to see to be sure it was working alright before I sell it) so all is well at last. Thanks for the suggestions.
Hey all,
I am very much willing to wipe my phone to do a downgrade.
I have the OP8 Pro, unrooted (never rooted/never unlocked bootloader).
The scenario I see is - I downgrade my phone to 10.15.13 (I have the INAA modell). I'm sure at some point the phone will check for an OTA.
My question - Is it all possible for the phone to upgrade itself if it restarts?
Meaning, is there a time limit that the update is sitting in the queue waiting for the user to press reboot to install? Or can I just somehow figure out a way to silence the system notification of an update pending?
Not sure if that makes sense but my hope is to just go back to 10 and enjoy certain things that just worked out better for me unrooted vs 11 unrooted until some things are ironed out.
Thanks for your time.
No you would need to initialise the upgrade, unless you have automatic updates on.
You would have seen the initial installation begin.
Least that's my experience of it. The update is stored on the phone so you may also be able to delete it.
Turn off automatically download updates.
I downgraded using the special firmware I found (couldn't find official to do it ) and then installed the official EU/UK firmware straight after with no problem

Nice - noted. I think I can start my search as well. Looking to do this tonight.
