Hi!!!
I'm a total newbie. This may sound like stupid to many but i need to know what standby mode on O2 Atom XDA mean? I have an atom xda and the battery seems to last about 5.5 hours - this includes some talking also. I, installed o2 Plus and saw that in the battery meter, every 3.5 minutes 1% of battery time would reduce. During this time - Backlight is off, there are no Wi-Fi, bluetooth or phone talks going on? No IR transfers and absolutely no program running.
Please let me know if I'm missing something here? On the O2 site seeo2.com, they mention 150 hours of standby time. Calculating this decrease in battery, I calculate that in about 350 minutes, the battery will drain out completely even if no call is in progress.
Please help.
Cheers
Manny
i'm using DHD for a week now and it seems the battery life is getting worse every day!
Every day i have to charge and i dont call a lot with my phone.
i set brightness to auto, set the phone modus on gsm, disabled syncing weather, stocks.
i dont send lots of text messages, calling also and sometimes i play a game.
i charged it tonight and discharged it around 9 and now my battery is 63%
does anyone else got tips?
MOD Edit: Please ask your question on the existing Battery thread.
Cheers,

Hi.
So I had the battery issues since I got the phone and it's still going on so I'll ask it again.
I've got the Android OS task on 13% battery usage and the Android System on 19%.
I'll go on and describe how I used my phone in the past 3 days for you guys to decide if the battery drain was normal:
I've had my phone on for 72 hours - 2 hours screen turned on, 50 min voice calls. 10 min WIFI. The rest it was idle.
At the end of those 72 hours my phone was on 30%.
I've noticed that at night the phone consumes 0%-1% of battery, but 30 min browsing on WIFI consumes 20% or so.
Another thing, I've read somewhere that the Wifi Sharing Manager and Wifi Sharing tasks have to do with tethering. I haven't tethered even once and it's not turned on, but those 2 tasks keep opening and draining my battery as well. What can I do?
please help. I'll add more info if I find anything else
Thank you
Hey guys i just recently installed American Android rom onto my HTC hd2 And while i love android and it works almost 100% flawlessly My battery life has suffered alot.. with windows running i can get over a day of use on standby. With android running i get around 12 hours if im lucky. if i make calls and use it it drops to around 5-7 hours. I have juice defender installed wifi bluetooth and gps off. I cant think of anything else that could be causing it the only other thing if it even matters if My 3g coverage goes on and off all day but idk if that would cause the battery to drain. Any help or tips on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

You could easily have used the search button and not have had to create a post like this :/
Refer to this video for more info about that.
Download CurrentWidget and check your battery drain on standby, it should be around 4mA. With screen on, there isn't much you can do really other than to lower the brightness etc.
my stats
i downloaded current widget but im pretty new to this so the stats when im on the home screen are 152ma 3.762 V it randomly spikes to 550 then back down to 150. idk how to check the screen MA itself ... My Android system is 30% , cell standby 24% , phone idol 17% , voice calls 15% display 10% mediaserver 3% music 3%.

150 is decent for screen on (at least it is for me, may be crap for others) and to check with the screen off just turn the refresh interval to something like 10 seconds, wait a minute or so to let it settle then unlock the screen and look immediately at the battery drain. If this is higher than 10mA (at the very most) it isn't good at all. Try with airplane mode on as well, would lower the battery drain significantly.
My battery life was amazing when i bought the phone lasted like 2 days
Recently I got an update of less than 150mb after that my battery life is now horrible in normal mode it lasts 9 hours the screenshot i attached show my phones battery usage on POWER SAVING mode (50% used on power saving mode in 9hrs at NIGHT when i don't use the phone)
and rite now i'm charging the phone again dont know whats wrong with it.
(It doesn't overheat or anything just loses battery.)
Will appreciate if someone can help troubleshoot this issue.

First of allI would say that your active GPS is a high battery drain so I would turn it of and see again if the battery drain is still that high.
Thnx turned off GPS and restarted phone now it's fine 85% from 100% in five hours with moderate use.
So is my GPS app is faulty?
I use maps a lot so how do I keep my GPS on but without this issue, my GPS was on from purchasing time but nothing like this happened.
Hoping for a permanent fix.
Once again appreciate the prompt help.

it's hard to answer your question without any other details. do you use any widgets? any apps that might cause waking of the device? use apps that could show the wakelocks during deep sleep
I use the s health, the clock and calender and the track id however I went back to the store even after reset the issue was there They said I can change the fone but didn't have the black color ( white to me looks tacky) so I got the m8 instead. Thnx for the help.

change location service mode to power saving when not using maps, change to gps only when you need. Turn off bluetooth and wifi tethering. Switch to HSPA when you're using map because you don't need lte speed.
